* FootFocus: During [[BeachEpisode the OVA,]]she flirts with Asano by pressing her bare feet on both sides of his face, squeezing his cheeks with them, and playfully rubbing his face back and forth. She then finishes reading him by squeezing his face between her legs.

* BoobsOfSteel: Quite literally. She's a katana spirit. Still, her size is just a bit smaller than Suseri's.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: She's barefoot in every one of her appearances.

* PeekABangs: She has a blind left eye which is always covered by her bangs.

* ContraltoOfDanger: She speaks in beige prose when discussing the Asahina's plan to genocide the Shimazu clan.

* SplitPersonalityTakeover: She may suffer from this. Every time the "teddybear" talks, it's in BeigeProse with a ContraltoOfDanger, leading to TroublingUnchildlikeBehavior.

* CursedWithAwesome: As a result of his special powers, he effectively owns four very attractive women, and gets to kiss them all on a regular basis. Unfortunately, one of those four women is a ShanaClone, and his special powers also attract the attention of numerous supernatural horrors that want to kill him, and effectively eat his soul.

* ParentalAbandonment: His parents left him alone in his dorm while he was attending middle school "for training." Unfortunately, they also cut off his allowance, forcing him to find a job. He winds up working for [[ShanaClone Sakuya.]]

* ShanaClone: She has just about every trait for this trope. A teen with a childish body, prone to wear school uniforms with Grade A ZettaiRyouiki, waist-length hair, a hot-tempered {{Tsundere}}, and is an heiress to a wealthy family who treats the hero like an inferior (though like the original Shana, she does start to grow out of this).

* BareYourMidriff: Her maid outfit clearly exposes her abdomen.

* BornInTheWrongCentury: Prior to World War II, her views on marriage and child rearing were the norm in Japan, and in some remote places, "traditional" families still act that way, almost three score later at the anime's airing, treating children as extensions of the family will, not as people, and seeing the well-being of the clan's name as the penultimate virtue that everything and everyone must be sacrificed, if need be, to preserve. The fact that Japanese society, as a whole, was forced to see this mindset as wrong with Japan's surrender at the end of the war baffles, confuses, and utterly infuriates her.

* FamilyThemeNaming: Like her daughter Suseri, Sagiri has a given name that ends in 'ri'.

** She attempts to kill Shinichirō because she deemed him as a worthless husband.

* TheBully: Certainly has elements of this. Goes out of her way to harass the main characters? Check. Takes sadistic pleasure in the main character's suffering? Check. Enjoys seeing the characters struggle in futility? Check. Hates when the characters stand up to her? Check. SoreLoser? Check.

* ActionGirl: A demon hunter who uses SacredBowAndArrows as her WeaponOfChoice.

* DarkSkinnedBlonde: Her human form has dark skin and light-colored hair.

Warning: There will be unmarked spoilers. Read at your own risk if you haven't gotten far into the series.

* CryCute: She's usually headstrong and prideful, so it's tender to see her shedding tears when she admits how much she misses her parents.

* {{Abusive Parent|s}}: She constantly tells Suseri that if she fails to become the clan head, ousting Sakuya in the process, then she is worthless as a human being, and that's on a ''good'' day. Given that Sagiri was thrown aside for her sister when she was young, this is understandable.

* RapunzelHair: Her hair reaches down a little past her hips, which is fitting for an {{Ojou}}. Sakuya does admits having hair so long has its cons, but she refuses to cut it until she sees her parents again. She finally cuts nearly all of it in the final chapter [[spoiler:because she could see her parents again and say goodbye to them]].
