* AdaptationalIntelligence: In the show Daario proves thoughtful and intelligent despite his poor upbringing and violent past, providing Dany with sound political advice several times. In the books, he's a simple brute who always advocates AttackAttackAttack! or MurderIsTheBestSolution because he's interested in little outside his chosen skill set of fighting and fucking.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* TheSpartanWay: The Unsullied are trained in this manner, but the methods used are [[UpToEleven even]] [[TrainingFromHell worse]] than anything in real-life Sparta. Before becoming full-fledged Unsullied, each recruit must go to the slave market and murder a slave child in front of its mother, and then pay a silver coin... to the mother's owner. [[labelnote:From the books...]]The Good Masters also give each of the would-be Unsullied a puppy to take care of after they are castrated at the age of five. At the age of six, the would-be Unsullied must strangle their puppy to demonstrate their willingness to follow orders. Any trainee unable to do so is put to death. More of them fail that test than the later baby test.[[/labelnote]]

* AdaptationalHairstyleChange: In the books, he's described as having curly hair that reaches his collar and a long beard styled into three prongs. In Season 3, Daario (as played by Ed Skrein) is clean-shaven with long wavy hair (some of which is worn in braids). After Daario was recast in Season 4 (now played by Michiel Huisman), he sported a beard and shorter, curlier hair that more closely matched his book description, although his hair and beard were both much shorter than the book version's; his hair also lacks the bright dyes the book version's often uses. Daario's flamboyant look was greatly toned down overall, presumably because it might have looked too silly and distracting onscreen (and thus making him [[MrFanservice more plausible]] as Daenerys' love interest).
