* CrazyEnoughToWork: A ''lot'' of the strategies in the Walhart arc only work because they are so batshit insane that no one would consider preparing for them. For instance, what do you do when you realize that your navy is ''vastly'' outnumbered by the enemy and you have each of your own ships only half-filled with soldiers, while the enemy ships are each fully manned with dangerous combatants? Simple! Pack all of your soldiers onto one half of your fleet, set the remainder of your own ships ''on fire'', and '''''sail them into the enemy fleet'''''. Multiple characters remark that they can't figure out whether the Avatar is a genius or insane. Or [[CrazyIsCool both]].

** For Walhart. They're both talented, charismatic individuals who fought tooth and nail for their countries and both are chosen by separate gods. However, whereas Walhart [[JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope jumped off the slippery slope]] and tried to unite the world by force, calling himself a conqueror, Chrom wants to do it by reaching out to people. Furthermore, Walhart wishes to make the strong weak the strong while Chrom wishes to request the strong to serve the weak.
** He is directly contrasted against Walhart at the end of Paralogue 19 by Frederick and [[spoiler:Walhart himself]]. Chrom walks the path of kings; he wins his subjects' hearts and wields the combined power of all of his friends and allies. He also constantly doubts himself and questions his own actions, which Frederick believes makes his path truer in the end. Walhart walks the path of the conquerer; he stands alone and rules through sheer personal power. He is a juggernaut who always barrels onwards without stopping for anything. Ultimately both desire world peace

* IllGirl: In a sense. They're prone to fainting spells and exhaustion and other medical problems, but it's easily explained by their {{workaholic}} tendencies and lack of self-care.

* CompressedHair: WordOfGod says she tucks the longer layer of hair under the shorter, as depicted by the game's artist [[http://twitter.com/kymg/status/493223445560180736/photo/1 here.]]

* CryCute: At first, she acts quite aloof towards Chrom, becoming a bit more personable after the GenderReveal while still keeping her distance. This completely changes after she reveals who she is, after which she comes crying into her father's arms. In the Hot Spring Scramble [=DLC=], she admits that she probably would have done this the moment they met if she didn't have a mask to hide behind.

* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: She is essentially a female [[VideoGame/FireEmblemGenealogyOfTheHolyWar Seliph]], having taken up the Falchion after her father was killed by someone he trusted.

** Also, she has a fair few similarities to Lucia from VideoGame/FireEmblemRadiantDawn. Not only are their names almost identical, but also they have long blue hair that is significantly shorter at one point for storyline reasons. They’re skilled at swordplay, and have unyielding loyalty to a specific member of royalty.

* LukeYouAreMyFather: She's Chrom's daughter. The blue hair is not coincidental. She accidentally outs herself in Chpater 13 by shouting "Father, no!" when Chrom gets ambushed by a Risen Assassin.

* UnusuallyUninterestingSight: She is pretty apathetic about the quirkiness of most of her companions. She doesn't even notice there is anything odd about Noire having split personalities..

* RapunzelHair: {{Subverted|Trope}}. Her hair is depicted as slightly more than waist-length for her promotional art (shown here), but otherwise usually goes down to the middle of her back.

Chrom appears as an AssistCharacter during the Avatar's [[LimitBreak Final Smash]] in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosForNintendo3DSAndWiiU'', and was PromotedToPlayable in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'' (while remaining part of Robin's Final Smash). * ImpliedLoveInterest: To Chrom in more recent games such as ''Fire Emblem Heroes'', several lines of the female Avatar/Robin have her mention Chrom specifically, with one instance of her Day of Devotion alt wondering if Chrom would like her dress and showing jealously when she sees the Male Robin/Chrom duo from the same set being quite close to each other. Other games like ''Super Smash Bros Ultimate'' also tend to show Chrom and the female Robin together as well. Thus she is currently one of the more likely candidates for Chrom's canonical wife besides Olivia.

* ShipTease: He gets ''a lot'' of this with Olivia, Sumia and Female Avatar, plus quite a bit of HomoeroticSubtext with the Male Avatar. Chrom is implied to be married to Olivia in the spin off games Fire Emblem Warriors and Fire Emblem Heroes

* AdultFear: In the Hot-Spring Scramble DLC, male Morgan tries playing possum to lure Risen for a surprise attack. He didn't think to tell anyone he would be doing this, and female Avatar is mentioned to be "bawling her eyes out" when the Shepherds find him floating in the water.

* DaddysGirl: Very much so. She {{Hero Worship}}s Chrom and desires to know about and spend as much time with him as possible. Her love for her mother is quite something as well -- it may be the only thing that prevents her from killing Robin if she is her mother during Chapter 21.

* CannotTalkToWomen: Downplayed, but he has a tendency to be awkward at best and to say the wrong thing at worst when interacting with women outside of those who are related to him. This [[GameplayAndStoryIntegration justifies]] his small pool of prospective wives, and it's probably no surprise that the [[DevelopersDesiredDate prioritized]] spouse for him, Sumia, has similar problems with the opposite sex.
* TheChosenOne: He's the chosen wielder of Falchion and the Fire Emblem.

** Olivia: Chrom has an exclusive flashback to a unique moment with Olivia in the beginning of chapter 12 that is not available for any other bride, as well as several references to being canon in Fire Emblem Fates, Fire Emblem Warriors, and Fire Emblem Heroes. Chrom also shares a color scheme with Inigo, Olivia’s son. This color scheme is shared by Chrom, Lucina, and Inigo in any playthrough. Inigo in other games references events that only happen to Lucina’s sibling. Inigo’s birthday is a reference to Marth, a trait shared by Marth’s family members (Lucina and Owain), but the other potential children do not. Also, out of Chrom's other potential children[[note]]Cynthia, Kjelle, Brady, Inigo, and Male Morgan[[/note]], Inigo is the only one noted to carry the Brand of the Exalt. Lucina's supports with her sibling also fit the most with Inigo, along with Cynthia and Male Morgan, due to them being the most innately silly among her siblings.

** For Gangrel. They're both talented, charismatic individuals who fought tooth and nail for their countries and planned grand resistances against Walhart. However, whereas Gangrel [[JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope jumped off the slippery slope]] and tried to unite the world by force, Chrom wants to do it by reaching out to people. Furthermore, whereas Gangrel viewed Walhart as an ArchEnemy, Chrom sees him more as a WorthyOpponent.
** He is directly contrasted against Walhart at the end of Paralogue 19 by Frederick and [[spoiler:Walhart himself]]. Chrom walks the path of kings; he wins his subjects' hearts and wields the combined power of all of his friends and allies. He also constantly doubts himself and questions his own actions, which Frederick believes makes his path truer in the end. * HeroicLineage: A distant descendant of Marth's, though the series most plays up his relation to the First Exalt, on whom little is known.

* ItsPersonal: The reason why he refuses to forgive Gangrel for what happened to Emmeryn, even though Walhart and Aversa are guilty of far worse crimes. The fact that, unlike those two, Gangrel had repeatedly done everything in his power of his free will to actively antagonize Ylisse before he crossed the point of no return probably doesn't help his case. ([[spoiler:Plus Aversa was kidnapped and ''brainwashed'' to be a slave of Validar and the Grimleal, whilst Walhart was a WellIntentionedExtremist manipulated by Excellus.]])

* LoveAtFirstSight: His [[RelationshipUpgrade S Support]] with the female Avatar reveals this. It's also the case if he marries Olivia, though it's also kinda PlayedForLaughs, with Lissa Lampshading how quickly Chrom fell in love with and married her.

* ParentalFavoritism: If Inigo is Chrom's son, Chrom is initially pleased to know he fathered a son, but disappointed when he finds out what a flirt he is. It gets to the point where he pretty much tells Inigo he needs to be more like Lucina[[note]]it should be noted that Inigo's father almost always tells him this, regardless of who they are[[/note]], but they make up in the end and he is genuinely proud of Inigo when he learns the real reason he acts that way.

* ShipTease: He gets ''a lot'' of this with both Sumia and Female Avatar, plus quite a bit of HomoeroticSubtext with the Male Avatar.

* ImpossiblyTackyClothes: The dresses she keeps picking out for her mother in her supports, although off screen, are implied to be this. Later, something similar happens with Tiki in the ''Harvest Scramble'' DLC.

The boost she receives in Magic and Resistance, however, does make reclassing to a SquishyWizard a viable option, plus being reclassed into a War Cleric or Dark Knight will give her self-healing skills like [[HealingFactor Renewal]] or [[LifeDrain Lifetaker]].

* GlassCannon: If Chrom marries Sully or Olivia. The two offer Lucina several offense-oriented skills (like Astra), but fewer defensive options. Olivia can potentially give her Galeforce too.

* LifeDrain: The second hit of Aether. Her Brave variant in ''Heroes'' learns Daylight and Sol as her lead up skills to Aether, which provide this.
