Vincent's girlfriend. They met at a high school reunion and struck up a relationship. She's described as being a career woman, but she also wants to get married. The pressure over whether or not to do so is partially what sets Vincent's story into motion.

* BumblingDad: He comes off as fairly ridiculous, allowing a human wearing nothing but underwear and a random sword to topple his control of the netherworld, pathetically asking his daughter to play video games with him instead of dating Vincent, and other silly things.

* CatchPhrase: "It's the truth."

* NiceGuy: Helpful, personable, and down-to-earth as likely the most level-headed and well-adjusted of the Stray Sheep guys. He's also one of the few sheep in the Nightmare who isn't there because of unfaithfulness or other general JerkAss traits [[spoiler:but because of his guilt involving the ballerina he helped and the resulting consequences.]]

* TheSmartGuy: The main Climbing Techniques Guy of the nightmare group, and enjoys sprinkling conversations with trivia and food for thought.

* SecretTestOfCharacter: [[spoiler:The Nightmares. It wasn't to weed out unworthy bad men; the real intent was to test a man's character and see if they can prove theirselves worthy of her affections. This is also why she keeps asking Vincent various questions regarding relationships at the confessionals as Astaroth. She's trying to see if her and Vincent would be a good fit.]]

* UnknownRival: [[spoiler:Vincent. Steve is having an affair with Catherine, but she lets slip that she is more interested in Vincent. Vincent, on his part, is just confused and has no idea what Steve's talking about until they meet up in the Nightmares. It's also suspected that this was what the boss Shadow of Vincent meant to him — the masked being representing that he didn't know ''who'' this person unraveling his life was, and never met him in person, but Vincent cast his shadow on Steve's life anyway through his influence on Catherine. When he meets Vincent in the Nightmare, the mask finally breaks as he realizes who the mysterious man that Catherine loved really was.]]

* FantasticRacism: Implied towards humans in general from his treatment of Vincent and his constant (attempted) dismissal of him as a "mere human". Thus, Vincent's dethroning of him was a great shock (and humilation) to him.

* KnightTemplarBigBrother: He is violently protective of Rin, or rather ''all of them'' are this towards their youngest brother that they smother with love. To the point they were willing to cause human extinction than let their brother enter a relationship with Vincent.
* TheDreaded: Angels are terrifying enough to make Thomas Mutton/Dumuzid hide in pants-quivering terror from them, with even the demons of hell fearing them, despite them just being advanced alien lifeforms.

The boss of the Inquisition, The Child is an undead baby symbolizing Vincent's fear of having a child of his own, which is raised when Katherine tells him the day before that she might be pregnant. To Vincent, this Child exists to destroy his freedom and life, chaining him to something he isn't ready for yet.

The boss of the Clock Tower, The Child returns to Vincent's fears with disturbing modifications: a chainsaw for an arm, a pincer for the other arm, and a gatling gun in its mouth. The symbolism of the baby on the outside mixed with the grotesque inhuman construction lurking underneath shows Vincent's fear that the child Katherine is carrying [[MamasBabyPapasMaybe belongs to]] [[{{Cuckold}} another man]], Steve Delhomme.

The boss of the Spiral Corridor. A giant version of Vincent Brooks clad completely in shadow, wearing a gleaming white mask that covers its entire face in a twisted smile. Only his sickly yellow left eye is visible in the beginning. The Shadow of Vincent is the culmination of everything that Vincent is feeling but is ultimately ashamed of: his obsession with not being tied down, even at the expense of the most important person in his life, of not taking responsibility for anything in his life, and of cheating. Though he is able to hide his feelings behind a mask, the higher he climbs, the more the mask breaks away.

The boss of the Cathedral, and the second time Catherine appears as a boss. A desiccated corpse version of Catherine, she represents the final remnants of Vincent's affair getting in the way of his relationship with Katherine. To Katherine, she represents a rival to Vincent's affections, trying to pull him away.

* TheBadGuyWins: If you beat the Babel stages, [[spoiler:she ultimately gets what she wants, a new lover to replace Boss]].

* FieryRedhead: A red-haired woman [[spoiler:who wants men to prove their valor by conquering the deadly Nightmare and is also the Mesopotamian goddess of love and war]].
* FourthWallObserver: She knows she's in a video game and outright talks to the player. In ''Full Body'', she outright refers to Joker as the protagonist and says that toying with his life might have serious repercussions.

* ItsAllAboutMe: [[spoiler:The reason why the Nightmares were created? She wanted to replace Boss, who had been cheating on her constantly (as implied by the Rapunzel mini-game), not caring if this kills a lot of innocent men along the way.]]

* TheManBehindTheMan: [[spoiler:Was behind the entire scheme, not to weed out unworthy men as Thomas Mutton said, but to find a replacement for her current lover, Thomas Mutton/Boss/Dumuzid himself.]]

* MsFanservice: Not in the main game (AbsoluteCleavage aside), but after you complete Axis Mundi, [[spoiler:there's a scene where she basically seduces you through the fourth wall. Makes sense, given how she's a LoveGoddess]].

* SecretTestOfCharacter: [[spoiler:The Nightmares. It wasn't to weed out unworthy men; the real intent was to test a man's character and see if he could prove himself worthy of her affections. This is also why she keeps asking Vincent various questions regarding relationships at the confessionals as Astaroth. She's trying to see if her and Vincent would be a good fit.]]

* ActorAllusion: All of her available voice actresses have played at least one character who was cheated on by their significant other. Further, most of them have also played various characters in previous Atlus games.

* ControlFreak: She demands that Vincent stop smoking - which is not an enitrely unreasonable request - but she also says she'll be taking control of Vincent's finances without bothering to ask his permission for it.

* BadassNormal: [[spoiler:Especially in the true cheater ending, when he takes over Hell as its new lord with nothing but a shortsword while in his undies.]] Best part, he doesn't even think it's a big deal.

* CassandraTruth: None of Vincent's friends believe him when he tells them that he talks to Catherine at the bar. [[spoiler:Turns out that Catherine is only visible to Vincent because she is a succubus, making it look like in front of others that Vincent was talking to himself. Erica also doesn't believe Vincent until she sees with Vincent that Boss was behind the nightmares.]]
* ChickMagnet: According to Orlando, he used to be very popular with girls when he was younger. Not so much the case now, though he did catch the attention of Catherine. [[spoiler:Though there are bigger reasons for that.]] Heck, even in the modern day, he's engaged to Katherine, Catherine has eyes on him, and Erica's response to him [[spoiler:successfully intimidating Boss, otherwise known as Dumuzid, a freaking god, by threatening to stab him to death]] was to blush from how manly he was. [[spoiler:He even ends up attracting a whole lot of succubi in the "True Cheater" ending because he was so handsome]].

* GrewASpine: After letting himself get pushed around all week, Vincent finally gains some assertion when [[spoiler:he confronts the Boss over the Nightmare, and wrings every answer he can get out of the old man]].
* HappilyMarried: [[spoiler:To his girl of choice in the "True Lovers", "True Cheater" and in the "True Rin" endings. In the former, he marries Katherine in a traditional white wedding. The latter has him passionately making out with Catherine after he turns into a demon, along with a bunch of succubi, right on top of poor [[ButtMonkey Nergal]]. Vincent also ends up married to Catherine in a traditional white wedding in Catherine's new ending.]]

* LoserProtagonist: He's in his thirties, doesn't even have a kitchen in the hole he calls an apartment, goes out drinking every night, and has a job that he's never shown at. Many reviewers have wondered what Katherine sees in him as he's definitely not husband material.

* PerpetualPoverty: He just started a new job and checking the ATM says he doesn't have a whole lot of money [[spoiler:especially if it involves supporting Katherine, and a potential baby, as well]], he seems to run his drinks on a tab at the Stray Sheep, and Katherine mentions his drinking not being a very cheap past-time, either. Erica even uses "paying [his] tab" as a threat at one point. And yet he still had money to waste on a new laptop and the new model of his phone that came out last week.

* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: The Japanese language track calls him Master, the traditional way of addressing the barkeep in Japan as he's the master of the bar you're in. The English dub changed it to Boss, but the meaning behind it is the same. So at the end of the day, he's still being called Barkeep. Confusing, ain't it?

* RapunzelHair: Rapunzel's tale is [[ShoutOut mentioned]] in the game, although it may be unintentional.

* DangerouslyShortSkirt: The skirt on Rin's short one-piece dress ''barely'' covers Rin's legs. And, much like with Catherine, the game purposefully plays this up in various ways for the sake of {{Fanservice}}.

* {{Meganekko}}: She's a beautiful woman who wears glasses.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: Has bubblegum pink hair, unlike most of the cast, whose hair colors are more natural. [[spoiler:It's not dyed. He's a member of an alien race whose ''skin'' is bubblegum pink.]]
