Further, Hasuki and Char have romantic feelings toward Romio & Juliet similar to Leon who has feelings for Romio; but while Hasuki & Char have made peace that the two love each other instead and even befriended the other (in their own weird way), Leon instead is actively working to ''get rid of'' Juliet. Also, Hasuki and Char are able to accept the relationship partly because [[IWantMyBelovedToBeHappy they care for the happiness of the one they love above all else]] while Leon is shown she doesn't care about how much [[spoiler:it would devastate Romio to have him forcibly separated from Juliet to expose them]].

** She ''despises'' her maternal grandmother for coldly ripping her mother from her life which destroyed her [[spoiler: biracial]] family. Now she's doing all she can to destroy Romio & Juliet's relationship for even more ruthless & petty reasons.

** This is taken to a new level during the seven-year timeskip, as Scott is the only major supporting character to not only lack an occupation unlike the other cast members, but he has been reduced to being nothing more than Char's pet.

* CynicismCatalyst: while it doesn't certainly involve death, one more reason Turkish was bitter was because he never heard anything from Chiwa ever since they went their separate ways. As far as he knew, she might have suffered worse treatment from her countrymen [[ItsAllMyFault because of him. Learning that Chiwa never regretted their time together and still found happiness later in life certainly helped Turkish to move on from his guilt and finally give his blessing to Romio and Juliet.

* TheAce: Comes as expected given his position as the Black Dogs' top prefect, but there aren't any effective counters against him. For Romio, Airu is the insurmountable wall he must overcome if he wants to change the world. He was even "Mr. Dahlia" before!

* HappilyAdopted: She's from a branch family that was taken in by the main family, but she has always been treated by everyone as a little sister.

* AlcoholInducedIdiocy: After having her heart broken, she gets drunk and challenges Persia to race her up a mountain the next morning. (She also bets her friendship with their shared crush on the outcome.) Because of the setting's unrealism and the intervention/near-death of Inuzuka, this doesn't end as badly as it could have, though it is still considered an incredibly dumb idea in-universe.him

* BecomingTheMask: Subverted, when they meet "Scottia", Romio and Juliet believe Scott may have become this in his capacity as Rex's successor, but the real reason was that he has GoneMadFromTheRevelation of the SecretRelationship.

* FriendToAllChildren: He's actually popular with Black Dog kids. In chapter 1 he almost blows his cover when he saw some White Cats bullying several primary school children.

* YourCheatingHeart: Her morality drops sharply when she's been drinking.

* YourCheatingHeart: Invoked in one of her teasing moments, where she fashioned herself as Romio's "mistress", just to annoy Romio and fluster Juliet.

* {{Adorkable}}: Behind the towering stature, piercing eyes, and sharp teeth is an incredible dweeb who wears his heart on his sleeve. Part of his charm is how he approaches problem-solving and romance with his inherent goofiness.

* {{Adorkable}}: She likes to play it cool around Romio most of the time, but you can tell she can be just as awkward around him as he is around her, especially as they grow closer together.

* KnightOfCerebus: keeping up the theme of a villain showing up to destroy the humor of the series, Turkish takes this role in the Field Trip Arc. In fact, none of the scenes where he is mentioned or alluded to has any comedy. The only exception is the "I climbed a tree and couldn't get down" moment in a flashback, and even this scene exists mostly to contrast with who he is in the present.
* MeaningfulName: Named after the Turkish cat.obvious

* ObnoxiousInLaws: He doesn't accept Romio because he is a Towan,[[spoiler: which is very hypocritical from him since he fell in love with a Towan woman when he was a teenager.]] It even culminates in a swordfight between them because of Juliet, even in the [[WeddingEpisode last chapter]] he throws [[DeathGlare death glares]] at Romio for some reason.
