openlooking for episode specifically and clarification on a show
Okay so I can't remember if this was an episode of supernatural or a super out there episode of criminal minds, but basically two teens, a brother and sister, lived in a mansion together and the sister had a fake limb and the brother tried to keep her away from school so she wouldn't get made fun of and also so she wouldn't tell people about their family. Their mom not that many years before this episode and the son took on the family's mission to seek out women who were supposedly being influence by the devil. And the whole crime that got whoever was investigating's attention was the boy painting pictures that came in his visions and he would kidnap the women he painted and stick them in a well and fill it with water and drown them and then dress the bodies up in Victorian dresses and put them in abandoned buildings. And towards the end he paints his sister and tries to drown her but she gets saved in time.
openNO TITLE Anime
It was some sort of childrens cartoon/anime, with a character design reminiscent of Dinosaur King. The main kid, a boy, had some sort of monster/creature like a pokemon or something. I remember in one episode, the creature ran in circles around a city to create a glass dome with layers of glass and something else to make a dome to protect it from a sandstorm or something. I am also pretty sure this show doesn't occur on Earth, but another univese/world, but I could be wrong
openDramatizations of stories submitted by viewers Live Action TV
It used to run on the Israeli kids' channel. I thought it was called "Astounding Tales" or something like that, but i can't find anything by such a name. There was a hostess: a girl of about 12, dressed in a 50ies type men's suit, iirc. Her office had typewriters, maybe projectors, and the opening sequence also featured a typewriter. There was an operator, who was never seen. He may or may not have been heard. His name may or may not have been Max. The hostess would introduce each story, tell us which viewer submitted it, and then order the operator to roll the reel. I don't remember much about the enactments themselves, but they tended towards the horror-mystery-suspence genres, somewhere between Goosebumps and Tales of the Unexpected.
resolved Black-and-White Movie about Ghost Lady; Horror Comedy probably (SOLVED) Film
So, there's this movie that's black and white (so it should be from the middle of the 20th century). It's basically about these group of people in a house investigating a murder of a lady and who murdered her. One of the characters is able to see and communicate with the ghost of this lady.
One of my favorite jokes from this film is the officers showing the corpse of the dead lady to another lady (this one being the lady the murderer was planning on killing) and asking her if she recognized her. She then of course freaks and faints. XD
One running joke from this film I remember is the one black dude in the entire cast continuously sitting in a chair in a certain position. This chair then sent him underneath the house into a water tunnel (sewer?) somewhere and having a slapfight with a seal.
Edited by TropeFanaticFanresolved Power Rangers Side-Scroller Computer Game Videogame
Alright, this might be a little vague, but I'm looking for the name of a side-scroller game for PC featuring the Power Rangers. It would have been made/ released between 1998 and 2005. Probably.
The game mechanics are pretty simple: you navigate a Power Ranger riding on a flying jetski (a jetjammer?) up/ down to avoid obstacles, while shooting at the enemies who are flying in from the right side of the screen. I think the enemies had grey, humanoid bodies (perhaps putties from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers?). The blaster had only one sound effect and I can remember it clear as day: two mechanical clicks followed by two muted explosions, like "chick-chick pew, pew." (My siblings, who remember the game about as well as I do, used to joke that it sounded like a robot saying "kitty-bow-bow," with stress on the "KIT" part of "kitty.") I think the scrolling background was of pixelated brick walls, fire escapes, and other generic urban scenery.
The game was very cheaply made/ cheap looking, and I think it might have been the sort of game you get as a CD that comes in a box of cereal. Any help figuring out what this game was called would be appreciated!
Edited by LeporidaeopenWeird Claymation in Canada 2008 Western Animation
I remember a few years back seeing this claymation on tv on the movie channel, it started with a quote and then there was this guy in a wheelchair who went out into the city, then a black guy stops a girl from getting hit by a car but gets hit himself, the man in the wheelchair then proceeds to go and suck the life from the man.
openWas there a show with a character who had an imaginary boy friend? Western Animation
Was there ever a kids show on CN ,Nick, or toon Disney on where a girl character was "dating" an animate object that was kind of running on imaginary friend logic? this could've been any thing from a toaster to a sock puppet or anything like that? Thanks in advance.
openLooney Tunes episode Western Animation
I remember there are an episode of the Looney Tunes where Yosemite Sam is extremely rich. Bugs Bunny appears as a representative of the bank and tells Sam that they will deduct his fortune whenever he loses his temper. By the time Sam finally learns to keep a level head, he's already lost all his money. Anybody know the episode name?
openShow about creatures that could turn into household objects Western Animation
So I am looking for a cartoon I used to watch when I was younger. It was about these creatures that could turn into household objects and they did that during the day or something. At one point the villain that wants them convinces a kid to get the 'household objects' from some mansion in exchange for licorice.
Please help. I can't remember the name for the life of me. I think it is probably an 80's cartoon but cannot be sure.
openPC game with yellow sphere creatures? Videogame
I played an online game back when I was in elementary school (so in the range of 2006-2008). The main characters were yellow and spherical. I don't think they were emoji-based, though; this was before emojis were popularized. The name was rather cutesy/whimsical, if I remember correctly. I think there were mazes/quests involved? It might have been available on Big Fish Games, but I'm not sure about that. Sorry if it's not enough information. Also, I'm pretty sure it had absolutely nothing to do with the Pac Man franchise.
Edited by RaevynstaropenPortuguese Novel? Probably 20th century? Literature
Looking for the name of a Portuguese novel that's probably (but not for sure) written in the 20th century. The plot apparently follows a man who is retelling his life's story as someone else is either listening or recording it down. The novel is most likely by a very famous Portuguese author? The theme is pretty distinct on memories and storytelling. (Sorry for the vagueness of it all, it's something a friend recommended to me but I forgot the name!)
open[SOLVED] folk song? Music
I heard a song on the radio years ago, during an NPR folk song program. I think it was about old people in a nursing home asking a fiddle player to play for them because they are sad. Does anyone know the title? SOLVED: It's 'Play Us A Waltz'
Edited by SomberCaeliferaopenBook set in san francisco during 1906 earthquake about sibling immigrants Literature
Ten or so years ago I read a book with SF locale. A sister and brother were involved with someone who was actually a pedophile. And thinking back, the book was probably published twenty years ago. The children were not related to the pedophile. They were either orphans or had been given away or kidnapped. It was set starting in the early 1900’s and included the period of time of the San Francisco earthquake. It continued through the lifetime of the main character. The pedophile lived in a tent, who I believe was Chinese (believe the children were also either Chinese or from the same country as the pedophile). Both children go into the tent, where the reader assumes they will be assaulted. Only the boy exits the tent. The child becomes a very successful business man. His business dealings by themselves were intriguing, balancing keen business sense and a sense of morality. On the final pages, at the businessman’s death, he is being readied for his funeral, and it is discovered that he is the sister, to the shock of everyone who had so admired this man. In reality, the boy had been killed by the pedophile, the girl has dressed in her brother’s clothes, and assumed the boy’s identity. The girl killed the pedophile in retaliation for her brother’s murder. She had masqueraded throughout her life as her brother – presumably recognizing that as a girl child in that era she would be more likely to be victimized. As a man, she would have more control of her life choices. Many things were great about the book but most impressive is that it was written so skillfully that there were really no hints to give away the surprise ending. Many thanks if you have any information on the title or author!
openNot sure video game is the right category--website about bird adaptation Videogame
I've looked for this site/game for years now! It was around in the early 2000's. Basically, you had to choose different customizable features for a new bird species (I remember beak shape and foot structure), then choose where it would live, like a swamp or a forest, etc.. You'd get a score/message telling you how well your bird would do based on its adaptations. It is NOT "build-a-beast"—but that's a similar idea! It's also not "who wants to live a million years", although I enjoy that one. I think the pictures were realistic/almost watercolor-like, but I was four or five at the time, so that detail is a little sketchy.
Edited by Raevynstaropenvillain breaks up couple for attention
im not sure if it is a tv show or movie but i just remember that a villain has made life miserable for some people for some time and finally they get a little happy and two of them wants to get married but the villain is not satisfied with this because the couple get all the attention and the villain doesn't so they make the girl in the relationship to break the wedding off and can't tell her fiancé about it because the villain wants drama. openShow about a group of people on a train Live Action TV
It didn't last very long; I think it was cancelled after one season, but it was about a group of people who would discuss their lives between train destinations. It was British or Canadian; can't remember which.
openLoser Super Heroes
I remember seeing a clip of a show about two wannabe superheroes who completely mess everything up. I can't remember what it was called. All I can really remember is that one of them was British.
openTV show with teens in a jungle with a dinosaurs Live Action TV
I can't remember a tv show its about some teens in a jungle surviveing from some dinosaurs attack and one of them is good and later reviled its their friend
This is an odd one but here goes. I remember as a kid watching The Day After at school and i distinctly remember in the scene were Dr.Oakes is talking to the other doctor and he replies with: "Yeah, stupidity, has a habit of getting its way" Oakes disagreed and said something along the lines of "If that were true we'd be living in caves eating hearts. not here mending them. If that's true, whats the point of anything?" Now since then I have seen the movie countless times but it always just ends after the "stupidity has a habit of getting its way" comment. Was there some deleted scene that for some reason was included in version i watched at school or am I just remembering wrong?
