open Why were the "The One With" descriptions for the Sonic series removed? Videogame
There's something I've been wondering about for a while when it comes to all the Sonic the Hedgehog-related pages: whatever happened to the The One With… captions? Was there a thread or discussion or something that lead to them being formally removed?
openI-Chu/Aichuu pages need updating Videogame
I'm trying to edit the characters sheet but can only add basic information. I need some help with adding tropes since I'm somewhat new to Aichuu. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/IChu
openWhen to split a work's page into alphabetized folders? Videogame
hi tropers!!
i've been building up VideoGame.Mario Super Sluggers, and i'm wondering if there's a certain line count or # of entries at which I should split the page into multiple folders like, for example, VideoGame.Super Mario Galaxy 2 does. thanks a bunch!
Edited by TheTiksiBranchopen"Units Sold" and "Fastest-Selling Entry" in Work Descriptions? Videogame
I'm aiming to consistently format the descriptions of games in the Tales Series and noticed that both Tales of Xillia and Tales of Symphonia add details like "this game was the fastest-selling Tales Series game until [another game outsold it]" and "this game had this many sales".
Do these count as value judgements? Is it possible for a work description to violate Examples Are Not Recent?
Even if they don't break any rules, I would like to ask if I could cut them because you'd basically have to update the "fastest-selling game" stat every time a new game takes that marker and both pages are outdated because of itnote as of September 2021, that honour belongs to Tales of Arise and I can't find any other video game page that points out units sold. It sounds a little bit like bragging about just how popular the games were (at the time).
openFire Emblem Edit War Over NREP Entries Videogame
Recently I deleted a bunch of entries from AnaeLeone on Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes for multiple entries that violate wait periods for tropes like Base-Breaking Character, leaving both an edit reason and a note at the top of the page to let future editors know not to make the same mistake. It should be noted that all of their edits are fairly partisan and have to do with the notoriously controversial Edelgard and Black Eagle routes, and involve a lot of bashing of the developers as playing favorites and treating the topic of who the developers actually favor as a done deal, when the question is still a source of Flame Bait without clear consensus.
I mentioned in the dedicated cleanup thread for bashy entries that I was planning to DM them to not add Audience Reactions before the time window is up in the future, but as I was about to do so, it looks like they added a new entry back to Base-Breaking Character again, and in spite of the notes I left at the top of the page to not post BBC examples until six months has past, which constitutes both a repeat violation of of the stated time window and an edit war in spirit.
Edited by AlleyOopopen ZCE Edit War? Videogame
I deleted Pandashka's edit to Final Fantasy about Final Fantasy IX's Kuja and Zidane for being a Zero-Context Example here with edit reason, only for them to restore the entry here without making any changes to make it less ZCE. They also added an entry here to the same page about Final Fantasy Type-0, again with major ZCE issues. I will send them a PM about the issue first, but I wanted to leave a record here in case the mods want to act first.
There's also a side issue that the entries seem to be of the overly gushy Shipping Goggles nature, but that's not outright rule-breaking

I want to add a theory to a WMG. How do I do this?
openCharacter-page quotes not from the work, Videogame
jereyaj just went into XCOM 2's character pages and added a bunch of quotes from different theater on the folders for some of the different characters. Theatre quotes that are fitting, but comes out of left field for the game - the game holds no references to the theater.
Is this a thing that's okay to do?

The title says it all, I found a good video for the Dada Ad and What Were They Selling Again? tropes but i don't know how to post it. If anyone else can do it here's a link. "This TM"
Edited by MuppetopenAbout an Edit Reversion Videogame
I was recently sent a warning about example indentation regarding an entry in VindicatedByHistory.Video Games. Now, I don't disagree with the warning — I actually did make a mistake regarding what I was supposed to do indenting-wise — but since the entry was deleted wholesale, I'm not sure whether re-editing it while fixing the issues would qualify as edit warring.
The edit reason also mentions that a pothole to Condemned by History was misused, which I don't particularly agree with. At the time of its release, if I'm not mistaken, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U did have a sizable fanbase (including Tournament Play, albeit never as big of a scene as Melee had), and Brawl (which the entry was about) was forgotten by casual players for a while until the release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate made for 3DS and Wii U's faults stand out in retrospect, rather than being "reviled from day one" like the edit reason says. Am I misremembering?
PS: I'm sorry for being a serial tweaker. I keep second-guessing myself.
Edited by LendriMujinaopenSerial complaining by troper on Supermassive game pages Videogame
The troper Ferret Bandit went onto a few of the pages for The Dark Pictures Anthology and added on examples for plot holes. Some of them are wrong, others come off as complaining, and in at least one instance they changed someone else's awesome moment entry, and then went to the Plot Hole page and added over 700 words worth of complaining. A lot of this comes off (to me at least) as complaining and nitpicking and should be cut, but I want some second opinions before completely cutting everything.
Relevant links:
- - Changed an example to say killing an antagonist with a knife was something the game established as impossible, which is untrue (I already changed this example back)
- Added a second dot level beneath another example with a snarky comment, violating the Repair, Don't Respond policy
- Deleted the previous PlotHole entry with a snarky comment, then added over 700 words worth of complaining about things that aren't plot holes
- Did the same here
open Unilateral Franchisewide Lumping Videogame
So Veriamo decided to migrate a bunch of entries from Xenoblade Chronicles 1, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to aggregate franchise-wide pages many of which don't exist, supposedly in the name of removing clutter. Thing is, this results in an ugly-looking header full of red links, and also I don't think this was done with the approval of other editors, especially considering the forums have brought up that this kind of aggressive mass franchise-wide consolidation is actually causing problems in many cases.
openDigimon Survive Videogame
The game releases next month (hopefully), but the page for it got cut with the reason being "no valid trope entries". Is it safe to recreate, I think there's enough information to get a decent draft together.
openWas this game deleted? Videogame
There's a game I played before, https://store.steampowered.com/app/1191120/Growing_Up/, released in 2021. It had a trope page with a Characters section and a YMMV. Did someone just decide to redlist this game out of maliciousness? If there's a better explanation, I'll take it, cause otherwise this is feeling like a Mandella effect.
openUser removing content from Multiversus WMG page en-masse. Videogame
Have a user in need of reporting in regards to their edits on the WMG page for MultiVersus. In particular, a user known as Celac01 has been removing a large amount of content in relation to mentions of third parties, first removing only certain selections of the page before having the gall to wipe the entire section clean. While I have restored these edits and sent a message warning them not to repeat this behavior, the actions of this user (removing the mentioned third-party sections to make the page for "realistic" and "not like M.U.G.E.N" [something that is completely bogus, as there's no rule dictating as such], alongside removing some first-party stages) is too great for me to risk them attempting to remove the content once again. As such, I request disciplinary action or punishment be given against this user.

So if we wanted to turn a creator page, say Supermassive Games, into an index for their works, would there be a forum I would have to get approval from?
open[sic] tags when dealing with AllLowercaseLetters characters Videogame
Since the Discussion page isn't working, I'll bring it up here.
Over on https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/UndertaleSans, Random Troper 123 decided to add [sic] tags to every improperly lowercased letter on the page. Sans generally talks in all lowercase letters, which means all of his quotes on this page now have a whole bunch of [sic] notes in the middle of them, which is very annoying to read.
I don't believe those tags are necessary. I think it is very clear to anyone reading the page that the all lowercase letters is a deliberate style choice and is not something that needs to be noted every single time it happens.
Thoughts on this?
Long post incoming: this is another request from me about namespaces and titles, this time with the Neverwinter Nights video games. The video games involved are:
