@ The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

  • First Installment Wins: The sequels do a good job of capturing the mixture of hilarity and touching Hidden Depths of the first book, but it is no longer as strikingly fresh as it feels in the first book and they are far less well-known as a result.

Lady Styx is an insectoid conqueror who dreams of reducing all life in the universe is reduced to undead slaves who worship her. Created when proud aliens tried to combine their intelligence in order to enslave neighboring planets, Styx embraces their vain vision and works to spread the hero Stygian virus, reducing those infected to her slaves. Her crusade leaves countless worlds, including the whole Sector 3500, destroyed by her fleet and their inhabitants reduced to zombies or Human Resources for her to use. She puts a bounty on the heads of heroes to stood in the center of the universe, planning to dissect them and learn secrets they saw. After getting trapped in the dimension of dark matter, she sends her missionary Darkstars to the Vega system to establish a religion worshiping her there, slaughtering most of the Omega Men and their allies when they refused to worship her. Styx searches for Heartstones, <- comma which would give her power to become a god, sending the Spider Guild on Earth to destroy a city and kidnap thousands of people in a search for one Heartstone. She manipulates hosts of stones in freeing herself and becoming the heart for her new body as she almost absorbs the whole universe. Styx is revealed to have infected Animal Man with a virus that turns those it infects into her violent worshipers to continue her work in case she is defeated. She returns to continue her crusade, razing the planet Kranaltine and enslaving its people.

@ Paint Your Wagon

  • Fair for Its Day:
    • The film can feel pretty sexist, and scenes like the miners auctioning off a bride (albeit with her consent) may be hard to enjoy outside of a Crosses the Line Twice way. However, the film can feel ahead of its time when it explores Polyamory in a nuanced and engaging way rather than with a tawdry tone and has Elizabeth quickly put her foot down and make it clear to Sam that a marriage is a partnership rather than for the sexual fulfillment of the husband.
    • The Chinese residents of the camp are Recurring Extras who never speak up while their white neighbors are making important decisions. But their neighbors never exclude or belittle them either, they are used for little to no ethnic humor, and one of them gets to sing a verse of the opening number in his native language and is among the characters prominently shown riding off for a new adventure in the final shots.
  • Visual Effects of Awesome: The buildings collapsing or sinking into the ground at the end is captured on camera for grand style and lasts for several minutes.

YMMV.Cant Buy Happiness

  • Spiritual Successor: Given that it's a comic series about the adventures of an outgoing rich kid who subverts the Spoiled Brat trope by being very generous and friendly to a near comical degree, the comic can be regarded as a modern take on Richie Rich.

Characters.Sonic The Hedgehog Archie Comics (Sally)

  • Ambiguously Bi: While Sally has hooked up with several men and would marry Sonic in the pre-reboot comics, the post reboot comics do contain some Homoerotic Subtext between her and Nicole, though due to No Hugging, No Kissing becoming enforced by Sega by the reboot, the comic doesn't confirm if Sally actually has feelings for Nicole or not. Writer Ian Flynn would admit on the Bumblekast that the Ship Tease was deliberate, but he has not explicitly confirmed whether or not they have feelings for each other.

SpiritualAntithesis.Western Animation:

  • Thomas & Friends and Chuggington star an Ensemble Cast of sentient talking steam engines and their various misadventures on a fictional railway. However, despite their similar concepts, the two shows are near-opposites of each other. Thomas is an grounded and slow-paced show that stars primarily steam engines and takes place in a more down-to-earth and realistic setting, with the only real fantastical part being that the engines can talk. Chuggington, by contrast, is a more fantastical and fast-paced show that stars diesel engines, with railway realism being thrown out completely. According to Ludoum co-founder Dick Rothkopf, this was deliberate, as the show's conception stems from him wanting an updated Thomas that appealed more to modern sensibilities, as he found Thomas to be too mean-spirited and outdated in its morals and values.

Fairly Odd Parents: A New Wish

Possible Wishes
The series like the franchise itself has te fairies grant any wish their godchild wants to wish for with the examples being Timmy, Chester, and Tootie.

However with Cosmo and Wanda now becoming the new godparents of Hazel, there are many wishes that Hazel could be wishing to be granted.

  • A Robot
  • Becoming a Superhero
  • A Rapper
  • A Magical World filled with Ponies and Unicorns

Possible Villains
There are no confirmation on what kind of villains could be appearing in the new spin off series of the FOP.

However, there are still possibilities of a few villains from the predecessor series such as Crocker and Vicky returning while new ones could be added to new series as well.

  • The return of Mr Crocker
  • Vicky, Timmy’s old babysitter
  • Norm The Genie
  • The Anti-Fairies
  • The Pixies

Possible Adventure Plots
Same with the two other said theories, The adventures had involved granting wishes, taking down villains, and even supernatural creatures like aliens, monsters, including genies.

There are many adventures that Hazel could be going on besides granting wishes with her godparents.

  • Hazel being babysit by a babysitter by none other than… Vicky
  • Making new friends at school
  • Norm returning with a new partner getting revenge on Cosmo and Wanda after having been stuck imprisoned from his latest appearance in “Fairy Idol”.

Thanks @ The Hardy Boys

  • Cult: The Demon's Den features a cult of hooded apocalypse believers who reside in the woods and perform rituals that they believe keep the Devil from destroying Earth, although they are more Creepy Good than malicious.

@ The Good Guys

  • In "The Whistleblower," Dan questions a Smug Snake Corrupt Corporate Executive suspect and gives him a Breaking Speech about both his general patheticness and the obvious signs of his guilt.
    • The Mexican Standoff and subsequent over-in -the-blink-of-an-eye duel between the world's two best assassins in the pilot.
    • In "Don't Tase Me, Bro," the hitman, the Duke, picks the lock to a pair of handcuffs, escapes, and leaves an Obstructive Bureaucrat handcuffed and stripped down to his underwear.

@ Little Hero, Big War

  • Most of Crossed + 100 follows the Salt Clan launching strikes against human enclaves, which work to defend themselves and then regain ground, but most of this story is told through the POV of Future, a historian and librarian who focuses on learning about the origins and methods of her enemies more than facing them on the battlefield, and is frequently poised to make better tactical decisions than her leaders.
  • 1941 mostly focuses on panic and war nerves in both civilians and soldiers (including Trigger-Happy gunners) right after Pearl Harbor, with the final act featuring a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits (mostly volunteers rather than trained soldiers) making bumbling efforts to destroy the lone enemy submarine in the area. They fail, but do divert it from accomplishing anything worthwhile with its own attack on the coast.
  • Apocalypse Now: The Vietnam War chaotically rages on as a small boatload of soldiers head up river, away from the main front, with orders to assassinate a Rogue Agent.
  • Civil War (2024): The end of the Second American Civil War is shown through the eyes of some reporters traveling cross country who get caught up in some shooting scrapes and end up leading a group of soldiers to the leader of the opposing side.
  • The focus of Cold Mountain is not the battles of The American Civil War, but a Defector from Decadence deserter struggling to get home across the war-torn countryside.
  • The Court Jester: The Black Fox and his Men of Sherwood La Résistance wage an effective campaign against the evil king, but the main focus is the actor who the Black Fox has caring for the rightful heir to the throne, ending up with a chance to infiltrate the enemy castle by chance and sowing discord there.
  • Dad's Army (2016): The protagonists are Home Guard soldiers in rural England who deal with Slice of Life experiences and an unexpected (and initially unrealized) chance to either stop or unwittingly assist a Nazi spy out to uncover the secrets of the British coastal defenses.
  • Most of The Forever Purge takes place during a three-way civil war between the established pro-Purge crowd, their Renegade Splinter Faction, and people fighting to reclaim the country from Purgers, but the film follows a group of ranchers making a Run for the Border to try and escape a country being engulfed by war.
  • Indiana Jones would be an ordinary Adventurer Archaeologist in the first and third films if not for how his journeys take him into occupied territory where he disrupts Nazi plots to seize powerful occult artifacts.
  • King of Kings: Jesus the Messiah is overlooked for a while as he enters a setting of brutal battle between the Romans and the Zealots, as it takes both sides a while to see that his crucifixion for supposed false prophecy is what will set the end of their conflict into motion.
  • Mars Attacks!: The discovery of how to stop the Martian invaders isn’t found in any of the many military and diplomatic solutions the U.S. government tried but rather a trailer park kid who has been helplessly observing things throughout the movie finding their Weaksauce Weakness by playing music that they react poorly to.
  • The Night of the Generals features Nazi Protagonist Major Grau investigating which general is a Serial Killer and being poised to potentially help or help the plot against Hitler depending on which general he exposes.
  • Predator: The Val Verde civil war and the mercenary team's involvement in it is limited to one raid on a guerrilla camp in a failed attempt to rescue some hostages before surviving against an alien hunter becomes everyone's biggest worry.
  • Rim of the World: Plenty of soldiers appear fighting or coordinating defense during the alien invasion, but saving the world is the responsibility of some summer camp kids who stumble across a vital device as the invasion begins.
  • Shenandoah is the story of a family that is attempting to Opt Out of the American Civil War trying to rescue their wrongfully imprisoned son while only getting involved in the occasional battle by accident and not doing anything to affect the greater war besides liberating some Confederate prisoners who then proceed to abandon the war and go home.
  • Solarbabies: The tyrannical E-Protectorate is still on the lookout for signs their defeated old enemies, the Eco-Warriors, will make a comeback, and some of the heroes do have ties to that group, but the Eco-Warriors are in hiding, waiting for their enemies to weaken, and their leader's daughter and her friends bizarrely decide not to ask for help while heading out to resolve the plot by rescuing their kidnapped alien friend.
  • While the average Zombie Apocalypse story tends to follow a small group of survivors in the little of a larger conflict, the other side usually isn't organized enough for the trope to apply unambiguously. However, in Stake Land, the Feral Vampires are supported by an Apocalypse Cult, the Brotherhood, that is engaged in warfare with at least two of the entrenched settlements where civilization remains. The protagonists see little of this up close on their Road Trip Plot journey to a Safe Zone Hope Spot, but they do kill the cult leader when he goes after them.
  • They Live!: Drifter Nada hears Voice of the Resistance speeches, hears of attacks against mysterious targets, and sees the corrupted authorities’ brutal retaliation from the beginning of the film, but takes a while to learn that malign aliens have infiltrated human society and only joins up with the organized resistance right before it is destroyed, leaving him to carry on with just his friend Frank for help.
  • To Be or Not to Be: Polish actors struggling to live through a Nazi occupation end up helping to intercept a spy and foil his attempts to undermine the Allied military and underground movements.
  • War Of The Planet Of The Apes: The regional conflict between Caesar's tribe and the Alpha-Omega soldiers (which features a few battles at the beginning but has more time of the Apes trying to emigrate away or being held prisoner) gives way to a human civil war between Alpha-Omega and the Northern Army in the final act, after Caesar and his companions spent much of the film seeing and hearing signs about Colonel McCullough's break from the rest of humanity.
  • Willow: Willow and his companions' quest to take The Chosen One to safety and a place where she can defeat the evil Queen Bavmorda takes place during the backdrop of the closing stages of Bavmorda's war with the kingdom of Galladoorn, with there being scenes of knights riding off to fight her, or her victories being announced before The Remnant of the defeated kingdom finally teams up with Willow.
  • Alas, Babylon: The effects of the nuclear war that devastated the world are only shown through the people in one small Florida town as it struggles to adapt to being cut off from the rest of the world and its order and resources.
  • Asian Saga: Whirlwind takes place during the Iranian Revolution. It mainly follows a corporation's efforts to get its employees and valuable equipment out of the country before the ominous but nuanced rebels hurt anyone or nationalize the equipment.
  • The Caster Chronicles: The centuries-long "supernatural civil war without any hope of a white flag waving" is observed and narrated by a Muggle teenage bookworm and basketball player who is dating a daughter of the main magical family.
  • Chaos Walking: Mayor Prentiss's campaign to conquer the other human settlements on their colonized world and then go to war with the indigenous natives (even while still facing heavy human resistance) is told through the eyes of teenagers Todd (the youngest boy in his settlement) and Viola (a scout from the next fleet of colonists) who spend most of the first two books either running from Prentiss and spreading a warning about his actions or being held prisoner and assigned to work in menial roles that grant them important access to opposing sides and perspectives.
  • Down to a Sunless Sea: As World War III turns into nuclear Armageddon, the sole perspective for all of this is a passenger jet pilot trying to find a safe spot to land, as it soon becomes apparent his plane may be the key to establishing a large enough population of survivors for humanity to avoid extinction.
  • Humanity's war with zombies (both sentient and otherwise) takes up a lot of The Girl With All the Gifts and its prequel story The Boy on the Bridge, but the concurrent leadership struggles in Citadel City Beacon and attacks by the Crazy Survivalist Junkers also play a large role in maneuvering the actions, decisions, and destinies of the soldiers, scientists, and thinking zombie children who the books follow despite their minimal involvement in those conflicts.
    • Ciaphas Cain is a Political Officer rather than a commander, but he tends to get caught up in thwarting whatever nefarious enemy actions surround any campaigns his unit is involved in. Even the time he gets trapped behind enemy lines with a bunch of civilians and is absent from almost every major battle of the campaign, he still encounters the Villain of the Week and kills him in a duel in addition to blowing up a dam to wipe out a big part of the enemy army.
  • Harry Potter: Harry is a schoolboy not included in much of the planning or fighting of the Wizarding War engulfing England, but his magical bond with the Big Bad, Logical Latecomer moments, and It's Personal investment keep getting him involved at key moments.
  • John Putnam Thatcher: When in Greece features the aftermath of the real-life right-wing coup that took over the country in 1967, but mainly focuses on efforts to figure out who is trying to kidnap a fugitive American banker and why, with their efforts ultimately leading to the downfall of a Renegade Splinter Faction rightist leader.
  • Mockingjay: Seventeen-year-old Roguish Poacher and Gladiator Games survivor Katniss Everdeen ends up as a Propaganda Hero for the Rebellion against the tyrannical Capitol. She is an excellent Hope Bringer who is good at inspiring people and causing the occasional Heel Realization. That said, her impromptu efforts to lead a commando team for a Decapitation Strike on the enemy leader turn into a "Shaggy Dog" Story.
  • Spike And Dru Pretty Maids All In A Row (a Buffy the Vampire Slayer novel) is set during World War II, which affects the characters in ways like forcing them to hide from bombings and making it harder to safely travel between countries or seek out Potential Slayers, but the main conflict is the separate war between the Watchers' Council and Skymir and his demonic hordes (including Wild Card vampire enforcers Spike and Drusilla).
  • Swan Song: Ex-wrestler Josh, Crazy Homeless People Sister Creep, and the mystical young girl called Swan all survive some intense fights but spend most of the book traveling the wasteland and eventually restoring the settlement of Mary's Rest to prosperity rather than seeking to involve themselves in the war between Colonel Macklin and his campaign to assimilate or eradicate every other Wasteland Warlord or Wasteland Elder out there in the second half of the book.
  • The Tomorrow Series follows a group of young guerillas in rural Australia who are fighting to liberate their town, and do a good job, only for the town itself to be a relatively unimportant location that is ceded to the enemy after an armistice at the end of the wider war.
  • The Twilight Saga: Young Vampire Vannabe Bella stumbles into a long-lasting war between the vampires and werewolves that is currently in a tense cold war stage and also encounters The Remnant of the Romanian Coven, who were defeated by the governing vampires, the Volturi, millennia ago and have spent the time since striking back from the shadows with little success.
  • Jeremiah: Jeremiah and Kurdy initially spend most of the series acting as novice scouts (albeit Experienced Protagonists due to their adventures before joining Thunder Mountain), going out to make alliances and find out information rather than taking part in the main confrontations and battles with the Valhalla Sector (and later the Army of Daniel). However, they still contribute more to their Hidden Elf Village than almost any other character. By the end of season 2, they have achieved officially higher ranks and are directly assigned a lot of military duties.
  • Jericho (2006): A mayor in rural Colorado, his family, the town's teachers, a farmer, and their neighbors work hard to survive nuclear fallout and the following refugee crises, resource wars, and the Divided States of America political tension, while some of them end up in a position where they might be able to reveal information which could rightly discredit some of the key national players.
  • The Secret Circle: The Evil vs. Evil war between the Blackwell family and the witch hunters has been going on for many generations, with the teenage witches of Chance Harbor only being caught up in it sporadically, but they help deal devastating blows to both factions.
  • TaleSpin: Don Karnage's various attempts to invade Cape Zuette by disabling its military or triumph over the Corporate Samurai forces of Khan Industries constantly end up ensnaring and/or being foiled by air freighter Baloo.

@ The Atlantis Chronicles

  • Good Is Not Dumb: Downplayed with King Orin, who, despite some Dude, Where's My Respect? treatment from some historians, is a good scientist and strategist who tends to be the "Abel" in the Cain and Abel dynamics with his brother. He gives iron to hostile neighboring tribes to try and make peace with them, but when they do attack, he has bigger weapons in reserve to drive them back.
