For Complete Monster.

  • Reborn Trilogy: Emperor Palpatine is cruel ruler of the Galactic Empire and secretly the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Sidious. Corrupting Anakin Skywalker into his apprentice after his marriage to Padme was discovered, Palpatine has him assist in genocide of the Jedi Order and opression of the galaxy. When he learns that Vader has lost his memory, he has Boba Fett captured and druged to make him supsetible to his manipulations. Palpatine drains Force sensitives in his captivity of their blood to inject it in Boba and train his as his new apprentice, Darth Kain. Palpatine sends Kain to destroy rebel base on Yavin 4, ordering his spy to be abadoned when she blows her cover. Palpatine starts planning to turn Luke and Vader to his side and orders Kain to capture their friends so they could be tortured and used as bait. He captures crew of Millenium Falcon by threatening Cloud City and gives Han Solo to be delivered to Jabba the Hutt. When Vader conforts him, Palpatine tortures him and awakens his memories, causing tidal wave in the Force that results in great pain to all Force-sensitives. He uses second Death Star to lure rebels in a trap designated to completely destroy them, while sending Kain to kill Yoda. Palpatine lures Luke and Vader to Sith fortress on Byss, planning to either turn them to his side or kill them, even trying to goad Luke into killing Kain when he sees no more use for him.
  • What If Darth Sidious SECRETLY Cloned Anakin Skywalker: Palpatine, also known as Darth Sidious, has vision of Anakin’s body being severely damaged and orders him cloned as back-up plan in case he dosen’t prove powerful enought to be of use to him. He fills Mount Tantiss with clones of Anakin, having Jedi who survive the Purge captured and used to help cultivating working Force-sensitive clones. To clones secret from Vader, Palpatine has him help enslaving species across the galaxy. Years after formation of the Empire, he has one clone face Vader on Thyferra torturing and gashligting him after he wins. He has three working Clones brought to Exegol, where he prepares fleet in case he need to estabilish dominion of the galaxy by brute force, and trains them in lightsaber combat until he has them fight to death. Palpatine continues with cloning, planning to create army of Clones with same strenght in the Force as Anakin in order to drain them all and become the Force god. He sends clone Anakin to destroy Rebels and kill any Luke and Obi Wan, before spending years preparing for ritual to drain clones. When clone Anakin fulfils his mision, Palpatine summons him to Exegol to be the first clone to be drained for his ritual.

Got some more entries I'd like checking for spelling and grammar errors

Harley Quinn (2019)

Nightwing will become the Arkham Knight
Probably serving as a Whole-Plot Reference to Batman: Arkham Knight, Nightwing will become the supervillain Arkham Knight after he gets resurrected by Talia Al Ghul, where he will seek vengeance on Harley Quinn for killing him while becoming a Knight Templar obsessed with killing criminals. This could also make Nightwing a Composite Character to Jason Todd who was the Arkham Knight in the video game.

  • Misplaced Retribution: Dr. Psycho tells Darkseid about the time he decided to hate women for not letting him go on the ferris wheel despite the fact that they had nothing to do with his prevention from riding the ferris wheel, which was a result of him being too short. Granted Dr. Psycho’s hatred for women after that moment could be a result of him blaming his mother for getting his hopes up in that he would eventually be tall enough to ride the ferris wheel, but even so that still flimsy excuse for hating women, to which even Darkseid takes notice of.

  • More Despicable Minion: Dr. Psycho manages to be this to Darkseid of all people. While Darkseid himself is a genocidal Galactic Conqueror and the most recognized super-villain in the entire universe, there are standards that even he wouldn’t cross such as calling someone a cunt, standards that Dr. Psycho have already crossed long ago. Darkseid is also confused on the reason why Dr. Psycho decided to hate women and seems to find Dr. Psycho a disgusting piece of work, only recruiting him because Darkseid’s first choice, Harley, decided to break her deal with Darkseid.

My Adventures with Superman

Catwoman will make an appearance

Possibly as a Shout-Out to the issue Superman's Girl Friend, Lois Lane #70, Catwoman can make an appearance in the show where she uses magic to turn Superman into a cat to get him out of the way while she steals jewels and money all over Metropolis.

South Park

  • Boring, but Practical: Stan, Kyle, and Kenny were finally able to defeat Cartman in the revised future by simply cutting ties with him and ignore him for the rest of their lives. Given what a massive Attention Whore Cartman is, when the boys decide to no longer indulge in his behavior anymore and stop hanging out with him Cartman goes mad with loneliness and becomes a drunk and miserable hobo who has lost all of his skills as a Manipulative Bastard as a result of them refusing to interact with him. Thus Cartman is no longer the menace he once was while the trio are finally able to live happy lives free from Cartman’s influence.

  • Go Mad from the Isolation: Downplayed with Cartman since he was already Ax-Crazy to begin with but he at least was a calculating manipulator and schemer who held the Sanity Ball on occasions. However once his friends and everyone else decide to cut ties with him and avoid him at all costs, Cartman looses what sanity he use to have as a result of the complete lack of human contact to supplement his Attention Whore nature, and in the process he becomes a drunk homeless madman with no traces of the manipulative and scheming tendencies that he use to have, with his only method of communication is cursing people.

  • Boring, but Practical: Cartman himself is at the receiving end of this where the best way to actually deal with Cartman is to just ignore him. It works because Cartman is such a massive Attention Whore he can't stand people ignoring him yet is unable to do anything about they don't fall for his manipulations. The boys decide to ignore Cartman which drives Cartman insane to the point where he thinks he's a ghost. Heidi decides to ignore Cartman after breaking up with him for the final time while Cartman is unable follow through with his threats of killing himself. Even his mother decides to ignore Cartman where Cartman is unable to to manipulate her into getting breast implants, instead winding up with them himself. In fact ignoring him is how everyone manages to permanently end his threat In the revised future where after cutting all ties and contact with Cartman, ends up becoming a friendless, homeless, and miserable alcoholic who has done nothing but scream insults at people while possessing none of the manipulative and scheming tendencies he use to have as a result of going mad from loneliness.

Thanks

@ Cudjo's Cave

  • Silk Hiding Steel: Virginia Villiers may seem like a timid Southern Belle and even views herself as such, but she can navigate through dangerous woods without much help and wields an axe against a Confederate thug in the final act while later holding one of his bosses at gunpoint.

@ The Shadow

  • As the mysterious Slade Farrow progresses with his plans throughout The Green Box, no one but the Shadow has any idea that he is behind a series of bold and complicated robberies. That is impressive in itself, but in the second half of the book, it becomes clear that even the Shadow, who is constantly characterized as The Omniscient, has absolutely no idea what Farrow’s ultimate game or moral alignment is even after spying on the guy for so long. In the climax, when he makes a dramatic entrance and orders the authorities to let Farrow speak, there are elements of curiosity and respect to that order (which no one even thinks of refusing after that entrance).

@ Cold Case

  • The little smile Lilly often makes and the way she dedicates herself to empathizing with the victims and getting justice for them can make her adorable in some episodes.

@ Ciaphas Cain

  • Crazy-Prepared: He has analyzed every likely threat against the Shadowlight, whether it involves outside attacks or infiltration from the inside.
  • Indy Ploy: He is aware that detailed plans fall apart in combat and prefers flexible strategies that can be altered on the fly.
  • Humble Hero: He is a Living Legend who never writes his own memoirs and, when someone else writes a biography of his career, is willing to acknowledge when a triumph depended more on luck than skill.

@ The Experts

The Experts is a 1989 Cold War comedy movie starring John Travolta and Ayre Green as a pair of down-on-their-luck aspiring nightclub owners who are hired to open a venue in a small town whose mindset is stuck in the 1950s. The town is secretly a KGB training facility, and its unwitting new instructors inadvertently bring a cultural rebellion with them. James Keach, Kelly Preston, and Charles Martin Smith also appear.

Tropes in the Film

  • Gone Horribly Right: The eponymous characters are tricked into going into the Soviet Union to teach trainee spies to act more like contemporary Americans. They end up being so successful that the spies and their trainers begin acting too American for their government’s tastes, and defect en masse rather than give up their new lifestyle or let their new friends be executed.
  • Imposter Forgot One Detail: The opening scene shows KGB trainee Bonnie going through a fake job interview to test her ability to pass as an American. After Mr. Smith proves that she doesn’t know the meaning of commonplace modern phrases like "oyster bar," he uses this to convince his bosses that they need to update their training program with instructors who have been to America since the 1950s.
  • Man of the City: Mr. Smith has spent years running the town that trains Soviet agents and is deeply concerned about his boss wanting to uproot the lives of its residents when the experiment is deemed a failure, to the point that he is among those who defect.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Yuri is imprisoned just because of how much he knows about the secret KGB training town after bringing a planeload of supplies there. This later causes the other people who want to escape the town to have the services of a good pilot.
  • The Scapegoat: The phony reverend of the town is blamed by his superiors for the mass defection despite being one of the only people in the group to remain thoroughly dedicated to the Soviet mission and the most efficient of everyone who tried to stop the escape.

@ The Experts

  • Fake American: All of the Russians in the movie are played by American actors, although most of them are pretending to be Americans (which includes working hard on their fake accents) throughout the film.
@ The Experts
  • There is a sense of unhappiness and confusion the townspeople experience when their government comes down on them for acting too American and starts confiscating their stuff.
  • Wendell spends a lot of the movie as a Butt-Monkey whose relationship with Jill (which initially gets more cute and emotional moments than the romance between Travis and Bonnie) is one of the best parts of his life. However, when he needs to go on the run and confesses to being an American to Jill, the relationship comes to a sad end when she turns him in.

@ Manhunt (2024)

  • After Dr. Mudd gets one too many Mean Boss moments, Mary defiantly reminds him that she isn't his slave anymore and quits his service, telling him to do his own cleaning.
  • After two episodes of watching pro-Confederate businessman George Sanders being a Hate Sink who flaunts his power, political views, and potential ties to the conspiracy, it is satisfying to see him get arrested.

@ Ciaphas Cain

As a rare Warhammer 40,000 universe work that blends action, comedy, and drama (while also having a constantly rotating supporting cast), Ciaphas Cain has many surprisingly popular minor and secondary characters.

  • Well-Intentioned Extremist (with a heavy, heavy emphasis on the "extremist" part) Ernest Stavros Killian only appears in the final act of a single novel (with his existence barely even being hinted at before then), but his interesting past and Faux Affably Evil attitude before turning on Cain make him one of the best-remembered villains in the series.
  • Tech-priest Logash and troopers Simla, Hail, and Lunt only appear in Caves of Ice, but have big fanbases for being decently fleshed-out characters who accompany Cain and his regular supporting cast for some of the series' most memorable and frightening battles.
  • Surprisingly Elite Cannon Fodder Perlian militia fighters and Dad's Army expies Manrin, Jaq, and Franka only appear in two scenes of Cain's Last Stand, but are pretty well-liked.
  • Anzibel only has a couple of scenes in Vainglorious, but is quite popular for being the first Necron in the Cain books to get a personality (and an interesting one at that, of haughty pettiness mixed with Pragmatic Villainy).
  • Army Scout Calen from Dead in the Water and Dark Action Girl Malicia Mortalyss from The Devil You Know play large roles in the tie-in audio dramas' limited popularity.

@ Star Wars Legends

  • Umwak's nephew only appears in one episode and never gets a name, but fans enjoy seeing a rare Dulok actually come off as a level-headed Punch-Clock Villain amongst the Always Chaotic Evil tribe.

  • The powerful impression Queen Miraj The Baroness from Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Slaves of the Republic makes is likely one reason that her arc was adapted into the TV series.

    • The H.O.P.E. Squad from The Drop has received a lot of recognition and fan art due to their use of hi-tech umbrellas as parachutes.
    • Sarge from The Package and Orders is praised for the memorable gravitas behind him losing his first squad during an All for Nothing mission and having to execute Order 66 with his second squad.
    • The battle droid who deserts the Droid Army in Pathways, and the quadruple amputee droid who is captured by Aayla Secura and snarks at her a lot in What Goes Up… are extremely popular for their What Measure Is a Mook? moments.

    • The Alderaanian stormtrooper who has an Enemy Mine interaction with Leia makes a huge impression on the fans in his one comic.

To that end, <- comma he keeps sending messages to Republic Intelligence where he outlines his plan to defeat Marchion and bring peace back to the galaxy in hopes they will accept it and recruit him. To put it mildly, his plan is not very well thought out and is filtered through his delusions, going something like: Return to Nihil and get close to Marchion in order to assassinate him note, working off his delusion that he was anything more than a pawn to Marchion and that he can just get close to him again, while having no plan how to actually kill him, <- no space become a great hero to the galaxy while all his previous crimes are swept under the rug, marry Zeen in a ceremony that would be broadcast across the galaxy note despite Zeen making it clear she is done with him and her not being attracted to men, <- no space get elected for the Supreme Chancellor and lead the Republic and Nihil into a new era of peace. Satanic Archetype - Fairy Tail

  • Zeref Dragneel is a pure Luciferian figure. First of all, he started out as a well-meaning genius, who only wanted his younger brother back. But because mortals aren't meant to decide who lives and who dies, he was cursed with an "Instant Death" Radius Complete Immortality curse by a deity of life and death, similar to how Lucifer was casted out from Heaven for tempting Adam and Eve with the Fruit of Knowledge. In four centuries, he became known as the most powerful and evil dark wizard in history, with many people starting to perform all sorts of vile actions (supposedly) in his name, just like how humanity was corrupted with the knowledge of good and evil. In the meantime, he spent those years creating demonic monsters in hopes of killing himself and building a nation with himself as its ruler, both similar to the creation of Hell with Lucifer as its king. He even named himself Emperor Spriggan in the said nation, because he views himself as a spriggan, the dark fairy (after his curse sent Mavis into coma). The cherry on top is Light Is Not Good motif he gained after absorbing the Lumen Histoire/Fairy Heart, while calling himself a Physical God.
  • Acnologia, since he is a human corrupted by constant abuse of his Dragon Slayer Magic, ultimately transforming into a dragon, mirroring Lucifer's transformation from an angel into a devil. On top of that, his goal is the destruction of everything in the world for his own entertainment, his dragon form is mostly black, and he's immunue to any form of magic.
  • E.N.D., Natsu's Superpowered Evil Side, to a lesser extent, all because of his fire powers, his nature as demon, created from the human corpse, his buildup as the strongest of the Etherious and his instinct of his killing his creator.
  • Hades, the guild master of Grimoire Heart, was originally known as Precht Gaebolg, Fairy Tail's co-founder and second guild master, until Mavis' death pushed him into studying dark magic in hopes of resurrecting her. The result is once a noble wizard turning into a remorseless psychopath, who seeks a total genocide of non-wizards with dark guilds reigning supreme. Not only his new name is that of Greek God of Death, but he gains a rather demonic appearance after activating the Devil's Eye.
  • Mard Geer Tartaros, the (acting) leader of Tartaros. He looks like a young man, but can transform into a demonic humanoid with wings, spikes and tail, his Red Baron title is the "Underworld King", his full name and the name of his guild are that of the Greek underworld and he seeks the total genocide of magic users and humankind.

Here's another. This time from an episode of Seinfeld.

George hires an average-looking secretary to avoid distractions, but it backfires when he has sex with his new secretary. Elaine is convinced that the mirrors being used at a clothing store are part of a scam. Jerry thinks his dry cleaner stole his jacket. Kramer manages to acquire the phone number of Uma Thurman...on Jerry's dry-cleaning ticket.

Tropes:

  • Didn't Think This Through:
    • Kramer sells his clothes to Kenny Bania for 300 dollars...without thinking about how he is able to be seen in public without a spare set of clothes. Jerry calls him out on this. Kramer's response?
    Kramer: I didn't think ahead!
    • Elaine walked out of the clothing store to see how she looks in a normal mirror due to not trusting the mirror present at the store, but when she returns, the manager refuses to keep the dress on account of seeing the snow on it. Exactly, how did Elaine think she would drag a dress to another mirror outside of the store without getting it dirty?
  • Loophole Abuse: Since Jerry doesn't have the ticket stub for his mom's fur coat, Willy can't give it back to him (nor is he able to give it to him since he gave it to some woman).
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: Jerry goes through hell-and-high water (including agreeing to eat with Bania) to get a ticket for his mother's fur coat, but he found the woman who got the fur coat from Willy at Barney's, making his entire effort pointless.

  • In the Trails Series, members of Iscario branch of the Septian church all wield maces as to denote their status as servants of the church.

Characters.Rhapsody A Musical Adventure

Cello

  • Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Ferdinand is the prince of Marl Kingdom and spent most of the first game petrified and it is up to Cornet to rescue him. In contrast, Cello appears more frequently in the game, is playable multiple times throughout and it's revealed that he is the adopted son of the main antagonist, Akurjo.

Akurjo

  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: Marjoly desires to get a beautiful man as a partner, petrifying Ferdinand to be with him (though she asks her minions to find a way to undo the curse). Akurjo, on the other hand, has no desire for romance and looks for the Shadow of Beauty to give her eternal youth and to cure her illness.

Characters.Rhapsody A Musical Adventure

  • Sprite/Polygon Mix: The third game keeps the 2D sprites for the characters but makes game world completely 3D.

@ Propaganda Piece

  • 49th Parallel was made partially to encourage America to end its neutrality at the beginning of the war, and does show by showing a mostly scummy group of stranded Nazi sailors killing their way across Canada to seek political asylum in the U.S., while becoming a Dwindling Party thanks to the occasional unlikely Canadian hero.
  • While often overshadowed by its other messages and virtues, Casablanca was made during World War II and shows the evil of the Nazis, the desperation of many innocent people fleeing them, and the heroism of those who resist them.
  • Desperate Journey and One of Our Aircraft Is Missing were both made during the war and follow the struggles of Allied bomber crews who are shot down and flee back to their own lines with the help of La Résistance.
  • The Fighting Seabees is a 1944 movie that follows American construction workers who are determined to do more for the war effort, gradually forming a serious military unit, while their sadistic Japanese adversaries get a highly unflattering portrayal.
  • Hangmen Also Die! is a Film Noir following a noble resistance fighter trying to save himself and the civilians being threatened with retaliatory execution after killing Nazi leader Reinhard Heydrich. Heyrdich was a real person who really was assassinated by Resistance fighters, but few details were known about what had happened at the time (and resulted in a tragic ending for the assassins, unlike the inspiring and unambiguously pushy happy ending the film chose) and the filmmakers decided to move while the incident was fresh and make up their own story.
  • Hitler, Dead or Alive is a 1942 movie about a hit squad going after a cowardly, Small Name, Big Ego version of Hitler.
  • Went the Day Well? (a partial inspiration for the postwar novel The Eagle Has Landed and its blockbuster film adaptation) tells a fictional story of a unit of German soldiers infiltrating England during World War II, instilling the Day of the Jackboot over a village they plan to use as a base, and getting their just deserts when the locals fight back. While the movie was made in 1942, the filmmakers were optimistic enough (or at least wanted their audiences to be) to include flash-forward scenes where one of the villagers recounts what happened at an unspecified future date after the Allies won the war.
  • The Green Berets, made during The Vietnam War, vilifies the North Vietnamese, while portraying the American soldiers as men who constantly die horribly but are accomplishing a greater purpose and deserve support that could turn the tide of the war. To its credit, the film at least portrays the Green Berets of the time more realistically, as primarily military advisors rather than Rambo-esque fighting machines.
    Theatre
  • Margin for Error'' is a 1939 play (later made into a 1943 movie) about the mysterious death of a Nazi diplomat in New York City, with said diplomat being involved in a sabotage plot against the United States and one of his aides' gradual disillusionment with Nazism being portrayed as a good thing.

@ When Worlds Collide

  • Unintentional Period Piece: Hitler and Mussolini are casually mentioned as contempary world leaders who are widely despised but aren't actively at war with many other nations at the time, giving the book a very 1930s vibe.

@ Cudjo's Cave

  • After Captain Sprowl's wife Salina shoots him in defense of her father, sister Virginia, and servant Toby, a wounded and possibly dying Sprowl orders his men to shoot her, and they do.
  • Hired Help as Family: Toby was once a slave of the Villars family and, after being given his freedom, continues working for them as a paid servant and has a warm and familiar relationship with Mr. Villars and Virginia.
  • The Runaway: Carl Minnivech is an orphan who was adopted by his uncle but runs away after two years of jealous abuse at the hands of his aunt and cousins. He spends weeks as a beggar in the countryside before encountering schoolteacher Penn Hapgood, who helps find a home to take Carl in, gives him an education, and generally takes on a Cool Big Bro role to Carl.
@ Cudjo's Cave

@ Angel

  • The dragon that Angel and his allies see among their approaching attackers in the Bolivian Army Ending only appears for a few seconds, but inspired a lot of interest and delight from fans even before becoming a temporary friend and companion of the team in the sequel comics.

@ El Gringo

@ Star Wars Legends

  • Haunted house proprietor Horville and his assistant Ploob do a lot to make an otherwise basic episode entertaining and memorable.
  • Mysterious, powerful, and beautifully-designed Plant Person sorceress, the Leaf Queen, only makes two appearances but is quite popular.
  • Two-headed sorcerer and recluse the Gonster is popular enough that some fans are surprised that he is only in one episode.
  • The Stranger gets some credit for being one of the creepiest villains in the show in his one episode.

  • Chalk only has a secondary role at best in Shatterpoint, but her Dark and Troubled Past and Action Girl and Fluffy Tamer moments cause her to frequently be rated pretty high among Badass Normal Republic allies from Clone Wars media.
    • A few of the unnamed miners specifically mentioned as fighting back against the onslaught of war robots in the climax of Han Solo and the Lost Legacy (especially the insectoid trio who fight one bare-clawed and one who uses a drill as an Improvised Weapon) are surprisingly well-liked and remembered in proportion to their page time and plot role.
