Hearing the sound of yelling behind her, Judy quickened her pace. Nearing the mass of flames around the great hole in the wall, she fought against her instincts and hopped amidst the ruins. This turned out to be a bad idea, however, as the intense heat distracted her and she tripped, causing her to tumble out the side of the building and down a small rocky formation, which at least managed to put out another fire she had caught on the way out.
"Owie owie owie..." she muttered at the bottom, seething, and dragging herself to a nook to massage her bruised limbs.

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."Noticing a draw on her life force as before, Sharlann growls and turns around, empowering the earth directly in front of Yamato, as well as several segments around his position. The ground around him rumbles and threatens to launch itself upwards at any moment, blocking whatever movements he might plan to make.
You're a persistent one, I'll give you that, but it's nothing I haven't seen before. Our necromancers will love to get a chance at that draining technique if you just turn yourself in.

I need to update these things more oftenHe takes one step that carries him past the rumbling portions before they can shoot up, and then casts Drain again. Sharlann notices that the weakening that took effect when he cast he healing spells has lessened with the last one, as have his wounds.
My new plan is so secret that even I cannot understand its full scope!Once more shouting " Wash the pain away!" Sharlann's life force seems to return easily, as does the vitality of Lusamine and her pokemon. It seems as though the charr is adept at sustaining herself in combat, and has prepared several methods of rejuvenation in advance.
Raising the earth below her feet, Sharlann rides on an outcropping of stone as the ground around her shudders and overturns itself as easily as water. Moving towards Yamato, the ground threatens to engulf him, while gravel is thrown towards him with arcane velocity.
I need to update these things more oftenReznov makes his way to the opening in the building, and slowly makes his way down the rocks. He slips a bit on the bottom, but quickly gets up and looks around for her.
Masakado once more chants, creating a shining orb around Yamato, reflecting the gravel back at Sharlann. Yamato harnesses the Prime Factor of Gravity to leap over the earth washing towards him, and in the air, he casts Drain yet again.
My new plan is so secret that even I cannot understand its full scope!Catching her breath, Judy's hearing once more picked up the sound of footsteps, as the perp followed after her.
"Oh, give me a break... this perp's like some kinda... non-giving-up cannibal guy!" Judy anxiously muttered to herself. Looking around for an exit strategy, she soon noticed some kind of pipe just down a rocky corridor from where she was, one that carried moisture elsewhere; and it seemed just big enough for her to squeeze through.
Lacking any better options, she soon got into a crawl and maneuvered her way into the pipe.
If you're wondering, yes, this is leading up to a draw; I felt the fight was dragging on a bit, and it seemed more in-character for Judy to Know When to Fold 'Em against an opponent who was just as smart and resourceful as her, but physically bigger and stronger.
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."Yeah, it is getting pretty long. Let's settle for a draw, shall we?
"Lucky сука, if I ever see her again..."
Reznov climbs back up into the facility, not being able to find Judy.
I still feel like using Reznov, to anyone who wants to fight.

Well, in that case, I have another contestant for future reference. This one's gonna be geared more for straight-up fighting.
Mr. Skip, my Swampert from the original Pokemon Sapphire.
Age: His exact age isn't known, but it's known that he's a veteran of the battling circuit (having defeated Steven Stone's Metagross fourteen years ago) and has a great wealth of experience, making him older than you might think.
Abilities: Like most Pokemon, he's got four noteworthy special moves: Hammer Arm, Muddy Water, Ice Beam and Foresight. However, when he's not constrained by the battle format, he's capable of mixing these abilities together for devastating effect; a favourite of his is throwing out waves of muddy water like Reppukens, freezing them with ice beam and smashing them to shards, for example. It should of course be noted that even without his special moves, Swampert have the strength to push boulders through muddy swamps. As it happens, Mr. Skip has watched a lot of Pro Wrestling on TV, and he's picked up a few wrestling moves as a result. Combine that with his strength and... well, you don't really want to be on the receiving end of a suplex from this fellow.
Weapons: He's got none, but as you may gleam from the above summary, he doesn't really need any.
Oh, and just for shits and giggles, I'll give him a theme song.

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."So what's the catch on drain? Because from what you've described it as, unless you have a very specific counterspell it's basically an absurd autohit that provides healing at the same time. Is it just a small portion of the opponents health? Is it limited in how much it can be used? Is there a way to prevent him from using it?
I need to update these things more oftenIt's not an autohit outside the context of SMT, and it's only real purpose is to drain away M P and heal the user because it's weaker than the standard attack for anyone not magic-centric. Basically, Yamato is going for the long haul, draining Sharlann's energy to use himself and hoping to wear her out eventually. Right now, unless that works, the two of them can keep fighting and fighting without either gaining on the other, and it will probably have to be a tie, unless Florida or Lusamine start really pitching in.

My new plan is so secret that even I cannot understand its full scope!Ah, I see. Sorry about the wording earlier, I should have probably found a better way to phrase the question. In any case, I agree that they could both keep on fighting indefinitely, as the general fighting style of elementalists is either burst down and be burst down in turn, or have absurd levels of sustain and evasion. As you can tell I went with the second approach, so we could pretty much be here forever.
I need to update these things more oftenFlorida, meanwhile, as he stood, shot a final grenade behind the group, directly at the nearby mountain of scrap, before falling.
As his pulse faded, his armor exploded, as did the grenade on part of the hill of scrap.
Florida had bled to death, but he had successfully stalled Lusamine, in this dimension.
Yeah, figured that Florida really couldn't survive much longer. Though you guys'll probably survive the scrap slide! I'll nominate a new avatar soon.

Ruby grabs Game Changer, and turns into rose petals.
Then they both land on the ground, and Ruby speeds off, leaving the detective to wonder what happens next.
“Happy Birthday Dark Lord, Happy Birthday!”Well, now that's over, I think a Pokémon battle would be interesting.
Meet Owliver: Type is Grass/Ghost Age: He has no age, but he is the main Pokémon of the new champion.
Abilities: it mostly uses Spirit Shackle, an attack that fires a ghost-type arrow at his opponent, preventing them from escaping.
He also uses Brave Bird, In which he flies and charges at his opponent, which has a high chance of missing, but if he hits, the impact is massive for both fighters. Razor Leaf has him launch bladed leaves at his opponent, which are weak, but hit often. For his final move, he wields Solar Beam, a massive blast of grass energy that takes 2 turns to charge, but leaves a devastating impact. He also has a Ghost Z-Move, Sinister Arrow RAID: Where he surrounds himself with Arrows, and flies at his opponent, where he swoops down and the arrows detonate on contact.
Should we make it a trainer battle, or an encounter between 2 Pokémon? I would also recommend losing the type advantages and losses too.

“Happy Birthday Dark Lord, Happy Birthday!”This sounds fun! I'll nominate my avatar too:
PARTY OCTOPUS
LIGHTS UP THE CELEBRATION!!
Age: He says it's "forever young".
Abilities: Due to being an octopus, he has a slippery body that can escape tight grips, has strong extendable Combat Tentacles, and quick reflexes. He can survive without water for up to 15 minutes. Besides those inherent abilities, he also has a vast knowledge of partying, dances, and karaoke songs. Oh, and he also knows quite a few Pokemon moves (mostly Octillery's movepool).
Weapons: Party blowers, paddleballs, balloons, paper plates, smoke bombs, fireworks, paintball guns... basically he can weaponize any and all party supplies. And he's bringing a lot of 'em.
Theme song: Pitbull's "Celebrate"
Arena: "Let's have a pool party!"

Twitter/Instagram: anzasquiddles. Deviantart: anzahanifathallah.Since the Arena thread is currently underpopulated, I might as well enter this one.
From Kantai Collection
Abilities: Being a personification of a warship, Graf has enhanced physical characteristics compared to a regular human. Her fighting style is a Drone Deployer with direct-fire artillery.
- Enhanced Strength: A shipgirl's strength isn't well defined in canon. All we know that they can kick car-sized monsters airbone and isn't hampered by several giant turrets strapped to their backs. That said, the historical Graf Zeppelin has about 200,000 shp (which beats most other ships by a fair margin), so I can say that she's physically stronger than most shipgirls.
- Enhanced Durability: Graf is surprisingly well-armored for a carrier. 100mm of belt armor is equal to mid-WWII tanks, allowing her to take multiple rockets to her midsection and ship parts. Armor Piercing attacks are recommended to bypass her defenses
- Walk on Water: She's a ship after all. While on water, Graf gets much better speed and evasion.
Weapons:
- Flight Deck: The core of carrier operations. This is where her planes take off and lands. Can be disabled with enough damage, preventing her to launch and service landed aircraft. Planes that are already in the air are unaffected, though.
- Bf 109T: Navalized fighter aircraft. They're mostly used to escort her attack planes, but they can strafe ground targets with some effectiveness. Quite fast and durable. She carries 30 of these planes.
- Ju 87C: Also known as Stuka. These are Graf's primary attack aircraft. Their dive-bombs are accurate and can be devastating against well-armored targets. Stukas are slower than the fighters, but are better armored. There are 13 of them.
- Nakajima B6N: Better known as Tenzan. These planes are primarily torpedo bombers, but in this thread they'll take the role of level bombers. While the Stukas are meant for precision strikes, Tenzans are more suited for saturating a large area with explosions. Being a Japanese design, these planes are extremely agile but catches fire from a stray pistol shot. She only has ten of them.
- Nakajima C6N: Reconnaissance aircraft of Japanese design. Very fast, but like other Japanese planes it is extremely fragile. As long it's airborne, all of her attacks are more accurate. There are four of them, though she'll only has one flying at a time.
- 10.5cm Guns: Dual-purpose flak cannons, able to engage airborne and surface targets. The guns are able to shoot explosive and armor-piercing shells. Although much more powerful than conventional guns, they take several seconds to reload. She carries a pair in a pistol-like mount with several others in the broadside of her ship parts.
- Anti-Air Guns: Short-range point-defense system. Defends her from close-range attackers and incoming projectiles. Weak individually, but there are dozens of these mounts. Note that attacks that don't penetrate Graf's armor can still disable these guns.
If her armor and weapons are too powerful, I can nerf them to make a more reasonable fight.

Lovepilled and HopemaxxingWelp, I'm getting some rest. I'll see who Owliver fights in the morning.
“Happy Birthday Dark Lord, Happy Birthday!”Well, if Owliver and Mr. Skip fight each other, I'd prefer it to be a Pokemon-only encounter, and done in real-time rather than turn-based, a la Pokken Tournament. It'd be much more interesting that way. I'd also trust that Owliver, like Skip, has capabilities outside of his special moves.

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."Yeah, I like that, and his archer and flight give me tons to work with.
Where should they fight?
“Happy Birthday Dark Lord, Happy Birthday!”A huge note guys! I have just launched our Trope Page.
Here we are: The Avatar Arena Tournament.

“Happy Birthday Dark Lord, Happy Birthday!”I think there's only one place for the pair of them to battle on an equal footing: Gear Station, Nimbasa City. It could even end up spilling over onto the Battle Subway.

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."So do I wait for Mr. Skip and Owliver to fight before then I fight the victor, or do I fight Graf first, or...?
Twitter/Instagram: anzasquiddles. Deviantart: anzahanifathallah.Sure! It's your choice on who you want to fight, but Graf would be a good place to start.
“Happy Birthday Dark Lord, Happy Birthday!”
Crap. Florida would note, as his weapons began to detach, though he had his grip on his rifle.
G2g for the night.
