Axis Powers Hetalia and Scandinavia and the World

They share the premise of Anthropomorphic Personifications of countries living out history in the form of wacky interpersonal relationships. The former has already played with the premise of alternate universes where the countries came out a little different (having cat ears, being the opposite sex, etc.) and the latter can be viewed canonically as an AU of the former.

I've had a base-idea in my brain for a long time, but can't seem to get my mind to make it work as an actual plot...

Attack On Titan crossed with Shadow Of The Colossus .

I've seen fanart of it, and once heard Sot C background music in an Attack on Titan fanvid (I think it was in one of the Abridged Series), but I haven't seen anything in the way of fan fiction or anything epic with a plot yet.

If it could be made to work (especially if I could kick my brain into fan ficcing it)... I would cry tears of joy.

In which I attempt to be a writer.

[up][up] So much want!

[up] It could certainly work, I mean given the amount of land lost to humanity in Attack on Titan, a lost land like that in Shadow of the Colossus is indeed plausible and done right could actually serve to help "worldbuild" the Attack on Titan verse.

Gravity Falls and the New World Of Darkness.

Part of the themes empathized in the second edition of the latter is that superstitions and myths often describe (inaccurately) real things, and people actually happen to at least suspect this. There's a low-level static of the paranormal that underlies everything, and people just don't talk about it out of fear of its keepers.

In Gravity Falls, pretty much the only reason people haven't caught on to the weird that lives there is because the Society of the Blind Eye kept erasing their memories. Before then, people didn't talk about it out of fear. Sound familiar?

There's even a canon tween werewolf from Night Horrors: Wolfsbane, Mark "Little Shadow" Lee. There's your hook right there, Mabel gets interested in the sad-looking, timid, and ethereal little boy (yeah, Aesop Amnesia rears its ugly head, but Dipper could be free of any obligations she needs to help him with) and starts her usual flirting...and quickly discovers Mark has deeper problems than she's used to dealing with. Worried about what could turn a seemingly normal kid into a hollow-eyed nearly-a-ghost, she and Dipper research his past, and come to make the mistake of thinking he's one of the undead (understandable, Mark's deliberately made to seem like an actual ghost at first blush) and hoping to put his tormented soul to rest, follow him back to the hospital he had his First Change in, and now serves as his hunting ground.

Sorry, did I say hospital? I meant asylum. Cue things taking a turn for the dark, particularly when just how bad and corrupt the staff and administration is comes to light.

It may not have been written (yet), but I could see a House of Cards fic set in Panem. It actually wouldn't be too far off the show itself.

Tamora Pierce's Circle of Magic books always struck me as being prime crossover material for something like Avatar the Last Airbender.

And Goose Girl/ the books of Bayern...that would work well with either of the above.

I really want to see a crossover between Kill la Kill and Assassin's Creed. Nudist Beach can, I think, be tweaked into being a branch of the Assassin Brotherhood. This is why the reimagining of Kill la Kill I'm working on will have Nudist Beach be to the Assassins what the U.S. Marines are to the U.S. Navy. What do other people think?

(Probably thread necromancy)

For whatever reason, I find that Mass Effect and Warhammer 40,000 work well together. Maybe it's something about how the idealistic Mass Effect characters have to deal with the Fantastic Racism of the 40K characters that appeals to me (or vice versa; the xenophobes having to deal with a society where relations with aliens is perfectly acceptable). Whatever the case, there are a few good ones out there like Hammerhand and The Mission Stays the Same.

Also, Avatar: The Last Airbender and superhero universes. Because the Avatar as a superhero makes sense.

Having Hogan's Heroes take place in the same 'verse as Team Fortress 2 makes way to much sense... Mann Co. was probably running crazy supplies to the allies that they had to find something to do with, Carter and Scout would get along all too well (related?), and Spy has probably heard of at least half the Hogan's Heroes cast...

Deus Ex (Any of the 3 games) and X-Com. POTENTIALLY fallout.

Could even thread Mass Effect in there as well.

ME / Fallout and Fear have been done obviously. It's just getting everything to "mesh" believably.

Carrie and Matilda are frightfully similar, just on opposite ends of the idealism/cynicism scale. They both would do well as X-Men, too, in my opinion.

In terms of theme rather than plot coherence, I'd always thought that there's opportunity to be found for snippets or 4koma-type strips blending Haruhi Suzumiya and Calvin and Hobbes. The jokes practically write themselves.

Digimon/Code Lyoko. Both have young kids (or teenagers in Digimon Saver's case) going inside virtual worlds to stop threats that could be of great harm to the real world. I can totally imagine XANA corrupting the Digimon to do it's bidding and stuff like that.

It just feels like it can work very well with some thought put into it.

Metroid and Aliens. Heck the former was even inspired by the latter. Although you'd have to tone down Samus' abilities a bit, considering she was raised on a planet with gravity 700x higher than Earth's and can run at Mach speeds.
