I am pretty sure it's not "mocking" anyone. That said, I prefer the shorter name.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynman@25: There's probably enough (seriously, Cole Porter gave us one before television was invented). May need to take it to YKTTW for entry pimping, tho'.
I added the suggestion to create a Just for Fun page to the crowner.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.I remember making a repair thread about this trope a few years ago. I found the great majority of the examples to be nothing more than internet memes and jokes about a series but not an actual example from within that series. I'm glad that a decision is finally being made about the trope.
Calling this one for the two winning options.
Ok, so we need to come up with a new description and purge the troper jokes. Here's a start on the former (I'm trying to avoid any reference to Soviet Russia):
-> "Times have changed
And we've often rewound the clock
Since the Puritans got a shock
When they landed on Plymouth Rock.
If today any shock they should try to stem
'Stead of landing on Plymouth Rock
Plymouth Rock would land on them."
—> — "Anything Goes" by Cole Porter, Anything Goes
Technically known as the "transpositional pun," but colloquially called the Russian Reversal after a form popularized by Ukrainian comedian Yakov Smirnoff, this is the Stock Joke where 'X' usually does 'Y' but in this case 'Y' does 'X'. This can cause an Inverted Trope quite easily but is often just used for humor value.
This pun is the source of a number of trope names including Ass Kicks You, Bullet Dodges You, The Can Kicked Him, Dog Walks You, The Door Slams You, and The Game Plays You.
In Universe Examples Only, please.

Alternate, shorter possibility for the page quote:
-> Daniel Jackson: "I love what they've done with the place."
Col. Jack O'Neill: "I love what the place has done with them."
—> — "The Gamekeeper", Stargate SG-1
That quote is too long for my liking. I can take the wick work but we'll need a clean example list before.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSwitched the pages, did a minor tweak to the first paragraph.
@Septimus: Looks bigger than it'll appear on the page; for some reason the quote markup isn't working here. But trope description writing isn't really my strong point anyway.
I'll start cleaning the example list and add In Universe Examples Only to the existing description.

I purged all the troper jokes. Page is much skinnier but still meaty enough to have plenty of wicks.
I did all the tagging and subpage-moving.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAll right, all that's left is the description, then. I feel we should avoid any mention of Soviet Russia in the description to further divorce the trope from the meme.
Yeah. As an aside, I already started the wick moving and -cleaning, from A-D.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHow many of the legitimate examples are going to be of the "Soviet Russia" form?
Probably a lot. I mean, look at what's left on the page after I purged OOU examples; that's probably two-thirds Soviet Russia.
Then I think we'd be doing the trope a disservice if we didn't cover the Soviet Russia form in some way. Especially if we're calling it Russian Reversal.
It's covered in the example section. Twice.
I think Wag The Dog is another transpositional pun trope name.
That's a film name. Ignooooorrrre meeeeeeeee.

Did E-M.
Also N-R.
And now S-Z, thus finishing the wickwork.

Crown Description:
What would be the best way to fix the page?
Yes, the current name flagrantly violates Tropes Are Not Bad. As the Home Page states, we aren't here to "mock" tropes.
"In your country, you mock tropes. In Soviet Russia, Trope Mocks You!"
