A character on the eve of the Final Battle contemplates how things have come to this point, starting from happy childhood memories through all the things that went wrong, the unexpected betrayals, etc. as she prepares and steels herself for the fight.

At the heart of the world...
On the fields, a summer breeze blows through the golden wheatgrass, shining radiantly as the sunlight beats down on the land. A truck then is shown driving down a road, caring som eager kids and one older child as the driver. Beside the road, the leaves of the trees lined up in a row are being blown off as the truck rolls by.
Up and down the rolling hills, the truck continues, and as it goes, it draws closer to a lake. Upon arrival, the kids jump out of the back and unpack their belongings, hightailing into the water for a bout of splashing and games in the cool, fresh waters of the lake.

The protagonist starts off the song just before some sort of race competition on which they've wagered everything. They're thinking over everything that has led them this far, tensely waiting for the start of the race, unsure if they have what it takes to win, the stress building all the while... and then the race finally starts, with all the moves, countermoves, and competition with The Rival that you'd expect.
The Hero has learned that his mentor is the story's true Big Bad and was manipulating him all along. The hero is horrified, especially when he realizes how many of the missions he undertook for the Big Bad, and the damage he caused to people and lives he took doing it. He shuts down into Heroic BSoD under the weight of it.
I'll do one last Morricone soundtrack piece and then move onto something new: Il Vizio di Uccidere from For a Few Dollars More.

An Establishing Shot of a small town near the sea, then a man walks down its streets. The camera follows him, several supernatural happenings occur without him noticing. He eventually starts to notice and becomes increasingly nervous and paranoid, and curls up with a gun at home, but then something creeps up behind him, Cliffhanger ad break. After it... we find it was all a Scary Surprise Party.

An undercover cop follows a low ranking criminal into a club, trying to keep on the guy's tail and not be spotted at the same time while a swirl of dancing people come between them. He's about to make his move and arrest the crook when he sees the crook is making contact with a much more powerful and dangerous criminal, and the cop has to decide about trying to arrest them both, and whether he wants to risk it without backup and not knowing if the second criminal has any more men around.
When things suddenly get tense between the two criminals and it looks like things are about to get violent, the cop decides he has to move in, and the whole thing suddenly turns into a Mexican Standoff for a few seconds, then a Blast Out.

The Hero falls off a cliff after being shot by The Dragon. The Enigmatic Minion grabs him before he hits the ground. The minion flies toward a location some distance away, but is knocked out of the sky by a detachment from the Evil Overlord's army and has to fight them in a forest clearing. Briefly lucid, the hero is confused as to why the minion is fighting against the overlord's forces. Eventually, the troops become too much for the minion to handle and he grabs the hero and runs. The hero awakens several times before the minion manages to reach a pond at the base of a cliff. The minion brings him to a door hidden under the surface of the surprisingly deep lake, at which point the hero passes out. He awakens to find the minion tending to his own injuries in a room overlooking the pond.
