This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

So, like I said, The X of Y (Title Tropes) page quote seems too I Am X, Son of Y (Naming Conventions).
I don't know what'd be a good replacement, but can I remove the current one, at least?
Or remove it, while moving relevant snippets to be the page quote of I Am X, Son of Y?

Disambig Needed: Help with those issues! tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13324299140A37493800&page=24#comment-576Found another page with a quote added by Johnnyfog, Artifact Title. Thoughts on which quote would work as a replacement?:
- — Alex the Lion after a brief discussion about how the film series isn't set in Madagascar (the country) anymore after the second movie, MAD, "Outtagascar"
Brad: Oh, they haven't been that for, like, four years. I think since like Man of Steel.
I think I like the third one best. The first has too much after-the-quote explanation, and the second one mentions so many titles so quickly that it's a bit confusing.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Agreed, #3 is the best
Hyperspace Is a Scary Place had a stupidly long quote which I've just removed,it has a quote page too so I'm wondering which one should go on the page instead
New theme music also a boxI'm kinda partial to the Codex Imperialis quote, myself.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpI like it too.
I wouldn't say there's anything wrong with the current quote for Just Woke Up That Way, but Buffy has plenty of quotes already and it seems like a glaringly missed opportunity to use one of the most famous opening lines in literature:
Yes, absolutely!
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee. The Kafka quote works better, imo.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyto both the Kafka and Codex suggestions.
To Kafka and the Codex.
added The Codex quote
New theme music also a boxI Just Want to Be Loved currently has three page quotes. I think we can make a sub-page for two of them, but which one should be the page quote? Here's each quote:
I don't really like any of those. The Supernatural quote doesn't get to the point clearly enough for my taste, and the Biblical quotes seem more like extolling love as a concept than fitting this trope specifically.

Okay, I changed the page quote to what crazysamaritan suggested .
The quote on Attack Its Weak Point is kind of complainy. Unfortunately, I don't particularly like any of the Quote page entries for a replacement.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettThe Golden Rule multiple quote positioned as those they were an image caption. Was this done intentionally?
Edit: Apparently this was done by a Fast Eddie fiat years ago. Do we want to change it to a single quote and put the remaining quotes on the quotes subpage?

Well, it's unreadable white-on-white in night vision mode, so something is gonna have to be done.
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing. Are different pages allowed to have the same quote? Because God Never Said That and Beam Me Up, Scotty! have the same quote. The only difference is the quote on the latter page is intentionally misquoted to demonstrate the trope.

There might not be an explicit rule against it, but we definitely try to fix it whenever possible. There are some good alternatives on the Beam Me Up, Scotty! quote page.
Since the rather fine distinction between the two is (I think?) that God Never Said That is Beam Me Up, Scotty! as applied to claims of Word of God, it should probably have a quote that reflects that specificity, but that might be a tall order.
That said, I really like the David Mitchell quote for BMUS
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
That actually works better for the page, methinks. Go for it.
