This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

So another sockpuppet of serial complainy-quote-adder Johnnyfog was crushed today, which brought back to the forefront of my mind something I've been wondering for a while: should some kind of cleanup effort be made to remove all of the hostile critic quotes he added to numerous quotes pages? I still frequently run into them (or at least quotes of the sort he would have added - I haven't checked the source), but I'm not sure what the actual policy is here, particularly since quotes pages have always had laxer rules than the main quote for a trope page.
Edit: To be clear, I'm not referring to the edits made by any of the socks - which I understand are supposed to be reverted on principle alone - but to the quotes added by his original account.

Yes, please. You can cut any quotes added by johnnyfog or any of his identified socks: Mr Febreeze, tonystork, htuttle, Dr Romoray, namingway, bonesawisready, celerystalk, orbishead, Ripburger, and Homiedown.
You may burn them on sight. Leave an edit reason "johnnyfog sock" and the mods won't land on you for it.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.@4528: Does that include stuff added before his ban?
(And when was he banned, anyway? I've missed a lot during my extended absences from the forums, and don't catch everything when catching up.)
I ask after looking at Quotes.Incompetence Inc, where he added a lot of material, though not all of it is complainy stuff.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpMaddy's post says "You can cut any quotes added by johnnyfog or any of his identified socks".
And he was banned months ago, but he just keeps coming back. And back, and back. You can see his appeals in the EBS thread for his initial ban.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettWall of Text has a complainy Yahtzee quote. It might work as-is considering the subject matter, but I think it could do with being replaced.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Yes, it includes before his ban. (He was banned in August of 2015, so over 18 months ago.) He didn't use obscure or unusual sources, so if a quote he added is a good example, someone will eventually add it back.

...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.We've got the same quote on both Ancestral Weapon and Elegant Weapon for a More Civilized Age. (And what is very very close to being the same image too, but that's an IP issue.)
I'm thinking of swapping it out on Ancestral Weapon for the Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening quote from the quotes page. Does that sound alright?

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Regarding Quotes.Incompetence Inc, I left the In-Universe examples even if they were added by johnnyfrog. I know "any" means "any", but I couldn't quite bring myself to nuke almost everything (though if you look at the edit history, I came pretty close to it ).

All your safe space are belong to Trump(Almost the) same image too... I might as well start an IP thread for that.
Wall of Text: Agree that needs replacing.
Ancestral Weapon: looks good.

Just made a server on discord.Come join me.The current quote for Weimar Republic is a line from The Producers,
I propose to change it by adding a quote from a 1929 German novel (for which I am currently making a page for).
I want to change it with this...
I prefer the second quote because the first one is A) Bland, B) Can Apply to many other periods of German history (Thirty Years' War, The Peasants War, the Revolutions of 1848, The Napoleonic Wars, East Germany).
The second quote captures the tensions of the Weimar Republic particularly (not least because it was written from that time), that it is on one hand the German Reich of Imperial Germany in new form, that its filled with violence (there were many political assassinations, street fights etcetera) in that time.
Don't add a second page quote, each article should only have one. Possibly that one should replace it, though.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Black Sheep Hit's quote should be swapped with the one on the quotes page or something better. The current one just sounds like Creator Backlash.
The one on the quotes page is pretty good, I'd go with that one over the rather vague one in use now.
SoYouWantTo.Be Original has three quotes. I kinda like the first one the best, but it might be too concise for some. Thoughts?
I like the first one.
Troubling Unchildlike Behavior has a kind of terrible quote. I can't find any good replacements, but this was the previous one:
That sounds more like Enfant Terrible than Troubling Unchildlike Behaviour. The ones in the Quotes subpage aren't much better though, and the first two of those are simply dialogues about death, with no indication that the speaker is a child.
I'd like to use a quote from Logan, but they don't actually talk about it much. This is the only one I can think of, and I don't think it quite works.
Charles: Logan, please... not in front of Laura.
Logan: She just cut a guy's fucking head off, I think she can handle a few curse words.
Artistic License – Medicine has a potholed quote with an improper reference -but I'm not sure it's the best quote for the page anyway.

Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettYeah... that's not a good quote. It's confusing, slightly insulting, and is about hospital practices instead of medicine. If that belongs anywhere, it's Artistic License – Law.
Black Jack will work, but this quote is currently on the Black Jack page, so we'll need another quote for that:
That suggestion is good for AL-Medicine, but I don't see what the one it would replace has to do with AL-Law?
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Sorry, I was being a bit facetious. The critic quote wouldn't be a good page quote for AL-Law, or even a good quotes page quote. I just meant that hospital hiring practices are more about law than medicine. If someone wrote up an example about that incident, it would go on the law page instead of medicine.
Crown Description:
What should be the page quote for Monster.Fan Works?
@Madrugada: Cutting the Cuckold quote down like that would work.
