User Names: What's Your Origin?

Too Many Ideas was originally a writer-y username I used for Na No Wri Mo. When I signed up on TV Tropes, I used the same username, since TVT is a writer-y website.

My name was originally going to be just Leaf because I am (deluded into thinking I'm) outdoorsy, and I prefer simple pseudonyms but I needed more than four characters.

The Yew is from a time where I spent my days memorizing every edible and poisonous plant and the various uses for different trees (Yew trees are both and make great bows). Plus I can now make yew/you/Yuu puns and no one can stop me!

One of my favorite tv shows: Danny Phantom. One of my favorite characters: Technus. And one day I happened to read his name backwards and I thought is sounds cool.

I was part of a church youth group and was about to age out. One of the other kids said "Sam, you're so awesome. You're AwSam!" and I just ran with it. Was gonna make it the name of my film studio ("AwSam Media") until I came up with "Fictosophy."

Plus my last name.

It's a nickname my family calls me. The Dr. part is because I like mad scientists and other crazy characters. The Puma is because I love big cats, especially pumas. I don't remember where the No part came from.

I haven't played the particular game that Tango is from, but still... robo kitty. :D

I used to be Flamingo Kai but I never figured out how to do it, so I just signed up for a new one.

I am likely going to sign up under a different handle soon. Bleddyn has lasted for several years but I have gotten bored of the name. I most like will be going with Psychosoma or just Soma.

A Pyschosoma is a relatively obscure psychology term that basically means your mind and body move as one unit. I tried to go with something obscure and somewhat unique from a subject I like (psychology) and I think it flows well too. Soma has three different meanings in biology. Cell body, out of body experience, and just body. I have only seen the term used once as a name in a work (said work was Worm)

The problem with the latter though is Soma is actually a relatively common name likely because there is various works that have used it. The SOMA game being one of them and some popular anime(?)/manga named Shokugeki No Soma. That's not even getting into companies and anything else.

The only Soma I know is the protagonist of Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, and Dawn of Sorrow.

"Falrinn" was actually my first World of Warcraft character. It doesn't actually mean anything, it's just two random syllables that I thought sounded like a decent name for a World of Warcraft character.

Since then I've adopted it as my universal online alias, if you see a "Falrinn" on any other website, there's a 95% chance it's me. I kind of like having a screen name that has no deeper meaning whatsoever, because I don't believe names always need to have a deeper meaning.

It's probably not a common name for video game characters then. I found many other stuff with the name/term. The SOMA game is definitely popular though (it was picked up by the big LP youtubers and all) which might explain why there is so many other users with the name.

I decided to go for Ecrivan for my new handle anyway. Ecrivan is literally the french word for writer (Ècrivain) with the i and accent taken out.

Variation on "redjirachi" and "clovis." Let me elaborate: way back when I was like 10-11, a little body learning to work the internet, I was playing me some Pokemon. My first game was Pokemon Sapphire. My school friends were talking about these event Pokemon I didn't even think was in the game, like Jirachi and Deoxys. I wanted Deoxys, but I didn't know how to get it. So I looked it up. I discovered both Pokemon Channel(which I still have and enjoyed even if I just got it for Jirachi) and Serebii. That was my first forum I was part of. I discovered that shiny Pokemon exist, which led me to get my first shiny(a Spoink). And I learned of Jirachi's shiny; a reddish skinned and red tagged variant.

The clovis part comes from a sprite webcomic called "Reporterz-Da Comic" that was hosted on Serebii. It had "crossovers" with other works, including other sprite comics. There was a sub-plot involving one of the main characters(a Half Human Hybrid version of the Yellow Devil), who was from a Bad Future version of the Bob And George universe. In case you're wondering, yes, he did get permission.

So in this alternate future, Dr Wily was killed and his assistant avenged the villain by taking over the world, resulting in almost everyone being killed. Dr Light and Dr Cossack survived, and teamed up with 3 OCs. They created the aforementioned humanoid Yellow Devils to fight against him. Their organism was an acronym of their last names: CLOVIS. Thus, clovis.

Finally, the 19 and 93 come from my birth year: 1993.
