A bit off topic, but what do you guy's think of Des Shinta's review of the Kamen Rider Taisen review and why he hates the film so much?

I skipped to when the Showa Riders go all Holier Than Thou on the Heisei Riders and I was rewarded with a well deserved blowing the fuck out towards them.

Villain is most definitely a good term for them.

The plots for conflict between heroes are often very very dumb.

Superhero Taisen is an outstanding example of quality amongst that lot. (A bar so low, it's underground, admittedly.)

RX:

• So it's a flying Vampire squirrel? Well, that makes sense.

• Oh, and it's poison make people think they are flying squirrels who will then jump off cliffs trying to fly? You know, you guys are lucky Handsome Rob is such a proponent of calm and rational thought. That's all I got to say.

• Some how, Kotaro figures out what the kids are doing in seconds. The power of late 80's logic folks. It can't be beat.

• And then he gets his ass bitten. Then he gets bitten again....but oh wait. He let himself be bitten by Flying Squirrel Asshole so he could isolate the poison and create antibodies as Biorider...

• That's actually a pretty good plan. I'm impressed.

• Then he pretends he got the ability to fly with some help from Joe and a cable to trick Flying Squirrel Asshole into thinking it had lost it's advantage.

• That's a much more stupid plan, but it works anyway. Cause remember, a dumb plan can still be really effective.

• Flying squirrel Asshole: Hah! I got you now bitch!

• ~Joe the Haze puts a Sai in his shoulder~

• Flying squirrel Asshole: What the hell? You mean that dude is actually useful?

• ~Joe flips Flying squirrel Asshole the bird, then watches as Kotaro Rider Kicks him then Revolcane's his ass.~

• Flying squirrel Asshole: My only regret..... is Rob didn't remember my damned name!

• A valid complaint I'll admit. Day saved. Next ep.

Kabuto:

• So Daisuke is now pointed at Tendo like a weapon. He's kinda being a chump.

• If she regains her memories, she'll forget Daisuke? It's bad enough that Gon has Easy Amnesia, but regaining memories doesn't FUCKING work that way!

• Hiyori don't know what's going down, but she still wants to help.

• Turns out Gon's mom is Daisuke's latest client. Ah Drama. You never fail to serve up convenience.

• Tendo and Daisuke punk Kageyama through the power of team work. No wonder they abandoned the Bee. After having a loser like him wear it, I'd abandon it as well. It needed someone cool wearing it.

• And Gon Yuriko is back with her mom. All's well that ends well.

• Next time....Sasword. A rider guaranteed to have no drama behind him whatsoever.

A final note: I just realized the significance of Kotaro's forms in RX: a cyborg is a union of organic and technological.

Robo-Rider is when the tech part takes precedence, while Bio-Rider is when the organic is emphasized.

That's brilliant.

Ok back to that review: in part 3 at 10:50 he has some problem with Kamen Ride: Hibiki but I don't hear any difference between clips from Kamen Taisen and the original Decade series he shows.

As for the Gon/Yuriko situation, just keep watching.

Also, Sasword is one of my favorite characters in Kabuto.

At least it wasn't The Power of Love, where it can happen even if the two lovers only met for seconds.

Heisei vs Showa was a mess, but I can't help but love some parts of it.

My most favorite are the ones involving Takumi/Faiz and Keisuke/X-Rider. I can watch them interact all day, before remembering that the movie isn't about them.

Yeah, the part where the Showa Riders going Superdickery on the Heisei Riders was dumb, even Fujioka Hiroshi hated how Hongo was portrayed in that movie. Fortunately, the latest Kamen Rider 1 movie remedied that.

And of course, any scenes with the Showa Riders are my favorites. The transformation scenes were fucking glorious. During the last battle, where Hongo called forth the winds themselves to transform him, there's an easter egg on his face; his surgical scars, based on Ichimonji Hayato's scars in Spirits. Or an easier reference, the scars resembled the facial markings on Geronimo Jr.'s face, aka Cyborg 005 from Cyborg 009.

I just wish they use ZX more often. I can't help but love that guy.

Also, I think I've already said how I felt about that movie long ago in this thread. Basically, the Showa Riders had been fighting for the greater good—the big picture—for so long, they've forgotten that the little pictures that makes said big picture are just as important.

Could it have been done better? Definitely. Do I hate it? I am seriously having a hard time actually hating things anymore, so not really.

Point is, as messy as that movie was, there's some good in them. You just hafta stay frosty and look for them.

Even Kamen Rider 3; I'm in love with the titular Rider. And Rider 4. They both look so goddamn cool

But the part where the kids go "So that's what a true Kamen Rider is." when Drive flew in the air on Tridoron... no. Hell no.

Still, Minami Kotaro was fucking awesome. As underused as he was, whenever he appeared, it brought a smile to my face.

Speaking of Showa Heroes, the most noteworthy tribute to one of them was when Shuriken Sentai Ninninger aired. The Global Ninja Jiraiya returning from wherever he went all this years, and... damn! Episode 34 is basically a Call-Back and Mythology Gag of his show all rolled into one. They even used the musics from it!

That's dedication. And a proper tribute to a Showa Hero. Alas, the whippersnappers in charge of typing the Ninninger page failed to add some bits about Episode 34.

Disgraceful.

Anyway, enough rant. Gonna get back to writing my DOOM x RWBY fic. Laterz.

Speaking of Kamen Rider Drive? Have y'all seen the new SIC Figures? Alongside the normal Type Speed, Types Flare and Shadow look badass.

And the Gaim Riders! I love how their suits are designed like actual suits of armors, with their own stands for them. If any of you can't take the fruit thing seriously, then perhaps the Super Imaginative Chogokin version could help.

And Gaim Suika Arms... basically a Hulkbuster Suit. Google them.

Pretty awesome.

I know, right?

But... Good God, my wallet will be weeping if I bought any of those. Guess I just hafta settle with collecting the Showa Riders, since they're the ones I'm very much interested in.

Heh, I own the new Kamen Rider 1 SIC figure. Maybe I can just buy SIC Gaim and reenact the fight scenes from Heisei vs Showa, post photos on tumblr or something

Also, I have another crazy fanfic idea. One question; anybody familiar with Senran Kagura?

I personally find SIC being hit and miss from figure to figure. Sometimes the more super-detailed looks really work (like I am big fan of OOO figures) while some of them feel bit tacky.

I love the SIC series so much, I really don't give a crap if people think one is better or worse or something; they all look cool to me lol

Kamen Rider X and Apollo Geist looked so badass. I think this set is older than Decade, so I can't help but think that they used the SIC designs of Apollo Geist for the one in Kamen Rider Decade. I mean, the helmet look similar.

Plus, X-Rider has a gun mode for his Ridol.

Yeah, and who's the one ninja amongst the Kamen Riders? ZX.

I am pondering whether I should use Murasame Ryo himself, or have it be another Self-Insert fic like my Kuuga x Precure and OOO x RWBY. On one hand, there are so damn few fanfics starring the Showa Riders themselves, and I want to remedy that.

But on the other... I just can't see him hanging out with a bunch of teenage girls. I can't do that to my man like that.

If I do make it an SI, or an OC fic... well, I saw some reviews for the Senran Kagura fanfics on FF. A lot of the fans had enough of the girls being treated as second bananas to the OC guys, and also the harem fics. I admit it's a guilty pleasure, but holy crap there's a lot of them.

I plan to not make it into a harem fic. SI-Me!ZX will basically be the big brother to the girls, sometime a teacher to them. He will be a bit more crankier than I am as he scolds the girls for misbehaving. So instead of getting distracted by their assets, he takes cues from Kiriya and stayed frosty... which will work once in a while.

Besides, if I ever do have romance in the story, it will be gradual, like how a good romance story should be. Start as acquaintances, slowly become friends, and finally either stay as friends or become lovers.

As cute as they are, I'm too old for the girls (24 this year)... Yes, there will be jokes involving girls who like older men, mostly from Katsuragi. But if I ever do romance, there's only one woman in mind, and her name is Daidouji.

Fuck the haters; there's barely a fic starring this muscular babe, and I want more stories about her. Even if I have to do an OC ship with her.

Still, that's all I hafta say for now, since they're still in the works. Also that there's a fanfic thread for Kamen Rider, but it's kinda dead...

Nothing to say really. Gonna check out Amazons and see if there's a new ep now.

How was Mugen Damashii? Magazine scans say that his attacks are based on emotions.

He only appeared at the very end, so not much to say so far.

RX:

• Now the world has two suns. At least they acknowledge somewhat how that'll wreck shit.

• Crisis pulls a classic evil organization move: try and kill the good scientist to keep him from foiling their plans. And then kidnap his kids. Hitting all the right beats today.

• Reiko! You had one job! Make sure the scientist doesn't leave. This is why women don't get to be riders! (Disclaimer: Handsome Rob does not in fact condone the tendency to not allow women to be riders)

• And a little girl saves the day. More useful than most of the people who appear on this damned show.

• Next time, an Ogre who eats Bananas....for some reason.

Kabuto:

• And now it's that crazy bastard Tsurugi! The man who stands at the top of everything.

• Misaki is playing Phantom Thief. No big deal there. I'm sure it's something to do with Worms.

• Tendou gonna Tendou.

• ....You know, The Bee and Sasword must be my favourite forms. At least when the latter disappears, I'll still be able to see the former.....yes, I know what happens to Tsurugi later, but shut up!

Also, saw the first commercial for God Speed Love. I've never watched the full movie, so it'll be interesting. come to think of it, due to it's status as a prequel movie, I suppose it doesn't matter when I start watching it, as long as all the Riders who are important in the movie have appeared on the show, which I believe they have (the Hoppers don't show up in they film at all if I understand, due to Yagaruma still being The Bee).

No wait, I forgot. There's still one more Rider who needs to appear....The God of Battle, the Man in Blue: Gattack!!!! When's he showing up anyway?

Speaking of movies, who are your favorite movie only Riders?

Mine's G4, Psyga, the Oni Riders from the Hibiki movie, Caucasus, Gaoh (God, I miss him. Too bad his suit was wrecked so Kamen Rider Yuuki can be made), and of course Kamen Riders 3 and 4.

Not that I've seen 'em all yet, but.... G4, Psyga and Orga, Nadeshiko, and — no, I am not shitting you - Eternal.

My favourites are Eternal, Skull, Sorcerer and Lupin.

Nadeshiko is definitely up there for breaking not only the Movie Rider curse (since she survives to come back later) but also the Movie FEMALE rider curse.

Don't really have any other favourites. Most of the ones I've seen are cool. I guess Ryuga, since he's a pretty good Evil Twin, and the Ryuki armour looks damned good in black.

I also like the way he does the Dragon Rider Kick.

• ~Kotaro reveals that he's Not Quite Dead~

• Demon Ogre: But... I stabbed you...with my Frozen Banana Daggers! My stupid stupid Banana Daggers!

• Kotaro: Yeah, after I'd secretly transformed into Robo Rider to block it without you noticing. ~A flashback shows what happened~

• ~Kotaro is shown going through his entire hen shin pose sequence and transformation into RX complete with Child of the sun speech then changing into Robo-Rider before the Banana hits while declaring himself the prince of sorrow~

• Demon Ogre: ....ARE YOU FUCKING.....

• ~Is killed before he can finish~

• Kotaro: Yes.

Kabuto:

• Damn. Tsurugi is a bit of an ass.

• Kagami fails as a Phantom Thief.

• Tendou gets angry when it comes to family, which is the only time we ever see that happen with him.

• ....Holy shit! I thought they'd drag it out for much longer than that. So the audience learns the truth right away then? That's crazy!

Kabuto is really drawing me in now. Next week, Gattack! Unleash your inner badass Kagami!!!!!
