  • Alternative Character Interpretation:
    • Is Jesse really The Woobie who endures horrendous shit from his psychotic father and sociopathic brother or is he really the Manipulative Bastard Jeffrey Sr. says he is?
    • Is Jeffrey Sr. really doing what's best for his son or is he a borderline Abusive Parent?
    • Is the series staged?
      • There is an entire mega thread on a subreddit covering this very topic.
      • In "Psycho Kid Flees Country", Jesse flat-out admits the series is fake.
      • Jesse even specifically says in the "A Real BIG Announcement" video outright it was fake.
    • In "Did Psycho Dad Die?", Jesse implies that Psycho Dad may not have actually died following the events of "Psycho Dad Kills Father". He then suggests that Psycho Dad being shown dead in "Psycho Kid Flees Country" may just have just been Jesse's imagination.
  • Base-Breaking Character:
    • Jesse. He's either a Jerkass Woobie or a full blown jerkass who acts like an annoying manchild.
      • He usually crosses into Scrappy territory as well when he shows more of a It's All About Me personality and having just as a bad sense of Disproportionate Retribution, like in Psycho Kid Submerges Motorcycle, Jesse gets furious after Jeffery paints his car pink (which he could have simply repainted) and forces his friends, Corn and Mark, to drag his brother's motorcycle into a hole filled with water. The whole video has him constantly yelling at them and being more of a psycho than his dad. A lot of people hated his behaviour and the video has gotten a ton of dislikes.
    • Uncle Chris, Psycho Dad's brother, is either loved or hated by the fandom due to the way he has been treating Jesse in the videos "NO CAMERAS ALLOWED!" and "MEET PSYCHO DAD'S BROTHER"
    • Tom became one following the events of the "WHAT I COULDN'T DO..." vlog. While some fans applauded him for giving Jesse a scathing "The Reason You Suck" Speech that he desperately needed, others believe that he ended up coming across as a hypocrite. See Designated Hero for more details.
  • Broken Base: The videos are very polarizing. The people who think that they're real often argue in the comments with people who think they're fake. Jesse himself has claimed that they're real, though others have found evidence to the contrary, which Jesse has not commented on. There's also the people who think Jesse's dad is in the wrong vs. the people who think Jesse should stop acting like a whiny child and grow up.
    • The Reveal that the Psycho series is staged is causing a stir from younger viewers. The older viewers are happy to see Jesse did this reveal finally, and the younger ones are not having any of it.
    • Following the end of the Psycho Series, the post-Psycho Series videos (with some being different stories and such) get mixed reception by fans, whether or not Jesse can top such a Tough Act to Follow.
  • Designated Hero:
    • Jesse comes across this way for some, who think that he's a whiny, spoiled adult child who should really just listen to his dad and get a job. Additionally, he claims that every instance of his "psycho kid" behavior has been reactionary. However, he has started conflicts himself, especially in the earlier videos.
    • Tom in the "WHAT COULDN'T I DO..." vlog. While his "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Jesse comes off as justified as his father almost died and is injured (as well as many agree he has a good point on Jesse never being grateful for what Uncle Larry does for him), it came off as him not understanding Jesse's situation and the abuse he endures from Jeff. It's especially ironic since Tom is ''rarely'' ever shown being "stressed" by what happens in the family other than being in his room all day playing video games.
  • Designated Villain:
  • Discredited Meme: In-universe with "Two monkeys fucking a football". Even Uncle Larry has gotten tired of hearing that phrase.
  • Ensemble Dark Horse:
    • Uncle Larry is extremely popular amongst both fans and haters of the channel. In addition, his son Tom and his cat Crazy Eyes (aka Garfunkel) are also well-liked. Tom in particular is seen as an Only Sane Man in the dysfunctional Ridgway family, preferring to hang out alone in his room to be away from all the drama, at least until he gave Jesse a "Reason You Suck" Speech in "WHAT I COULDN'T DO!".
    • The Ridgway dogs are also pretty popular.
    • Teresa has some fans, especially considering how relaxed and less crude she is compared to her sons and husband.
    • Jesse's friend Corn is well-liked in the fandom.
    • Jeff Sr. (AKA Psycho Dad) himself was arguably an Ensemble Darkhorse in the early days of the channel. The Psycho Series was originally much more infrequent, with the main focus being skits and stuff. As the Psycho videos became more popular, more began to be produced. Even now, some viewers still agree with him and choose his side over Jesse, though most still side with Jesse because of Jeffrey's increasingly dangerous and erratic behavior, to the point that some theorize he's going to kill Jesse.
    • Melissa's Son, Georgie, has garnered some popularity in both of Jesse's and Jeffrey's Jr's blogs.
    • Anita, the farm owner, has been growing in popularity thanks to being a Benevolent Boss, especially after "LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON" where she stood up for Jesse.
  • Epileptic Trees: Are the videos fake or real? Despite Jesse insisting the events in the videos are real, it makes you wonder, considering Jesse had started the channel way before the "Psycho Series", having Early-Installment Weirdness with a "Clone saga" and even an entire video series involving his parents as characters, even Jeffrey of all people. Considering that aspect, it makes you think that maybe or not the videos are fake.
    • There's also the fact that Jesse originally also had a tumblr (although not used anymore) where he used to photograph, so it gives even more implication that the "Psycho" series is all an act and the family is pretty much sane.
    • Let us also remember, Jesse graduated from college with a film degree.
    • This might as well confirm the entire channel is scripted.
      • The most interesting thing about the "Sociology of My Family" is flat out showing the many characters involved in the Psycho series, such as Uncle Larry in one scene, multiple scenes showing Tom, and even at one point Aunt Melissa. The video also flat out explains how the Ridgways are able to make certain situations look realistic (Jeffrey Sr. being a landscaper and Teresa being a canvas artist), which the Psycho series never shows them doing. So it does hit the nerve that the series is staged.
    • Fan theories have pointed out how Jesse originally filmed other sketches, including early on the Psycho series, leading to the theory the only reason Psycho videos are now more present with vlogs because those are the most popular.
    • More confirmation that the series is "staged" came from the twitter of Jeffrey's ex girlfriend, who's name isn't Kate Diogo, but Siobhan Sullivan: She explained the entire "Psycho Girlfriend Smashes iPad" was actually staged, complained that Jesse's a Prima Donna Director (saying she shot the scenes "a trillion times"), and even confirms that Jeffrey Sr. and Terri are involved with Jesse's channel as well, saying that "they are the best parents in the world". She also explained that Jeffrey Jr. and her broke up not because of the video, but rather than more personal and emotional reasons. She stated she only wanted to be called "Kate" because she didn't want any death threats sent to her. In spite of this, though, some fans theorized that Kate is her real name, and that she said these things to spite Jeffrey.
    • As the series became more extreme, notably after "Psycho Uncle Impacts Pool" where Uncle Larry literally commits attempted murder on camera, many fans who once thought the series was real began having serious thoughts about the series being fake. Then after the release of "Psycho Kid Kills Father", the narrative of the videos being real was completely killed off for those having suspicions.
    • Considering The Reveal of "Psycho Kid Flees Country", all the trees have been cut down.
  • Fandom Rivalry: Between "Juggies," Jesse's fans, and "Lil' Bruddas," Jeffrey's fans. Jesse and Jeffrey implicitly encourage this rivalry with their videos.
    • Recently since the Angry Grandpa crossover. It's now happening between the "Juggies" and the "Young 'Uns", the fans of Angry Grandpa (and extension to Pickleboy).
  • Growing the Beard: The series started off as basically a copy of Wafflepwn or Angry Grandpa. Starting around the time of "Psycho Dad Grills Wii U," however, they began featuring overarching storylines and clearly (or not-so-clearly defined protagonists and antagonists.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: All the comments saying Teresa should divorce Jeffrey Sr. became harder to stomach when the titular episode of the same name occurred.
    • Terry cutting off emotional support for Jesse, outright stating that he can handle Jeffrey Sr's psychotic episodes by himself. Echos the statements of Jeffrey Sr. telling Terry to "Stop coddling him" in early episodes.
    • The title of Jesse's vlog "RAGE QUITTER *PSYCHO UPDATE*" becomes one towards the end of the vlog where Corn quits his job on the farm and stops filming for Jesse, even if he came back later on.
    • Uncle Larry saying he doesn't what to get involved with Jesse's family problems in MEET UNCLE LARRY is a lot sadder after Psycho Uncle Impacts Pool.
    • People kept saying that the series would end with Jesse killing his Dad, turns out they were right.
      • Disney Songs in Real Life has Jesse come into a room and shoots Jeffery Sr. in the chest, which was also what happens in said Psycho video.
    • All the fans snarking about Jesse using his spleen as an excuse becomes less funny considering in "DAY IN THE LIFE OF MCJUGGERNUGGETS!", Jesse confirms that he indeed has mono and has issues with his spleen, stating it was only incorporated into the Psycho Series.
    • The "boogie2988 is a psychopath." video parodying the Jesse killing his dad video became this in late September 2020 where fellow streamer Frank Hassle went to Boogie's house and the two exchanged gunfire.
  • He Really Can Act: Jesse shows us in the basement closet saga that he is capable of giving a convincing performance when he wants to. Case in point: "i'm a psychopath."
    • Melissa in "THE CORPSE BRIDE!". She did a great job in the Psycho Series but her surprisingly intense yet over the top performance as a deceased bride is executed almost perfectly.
  • Hilarious in Hindsight: Really, the whole Psycho Series pretty much becomes this once it's revealed that it was staged.
  • Ho Yay: Jesse and Corn, as they're often together in the videos, to the point that Jefferey Sr. assumed that Corn lives with the Ridgeways and Chris asked if they were "gay buddies". One QnA video even had a thumbnail of Jesse about to suck Corn's corn, although it was quickly changed after.
  • Jerkass Woobie:
    • Despite how unlikable Jesse is, you have to admit, having to make something he loves into his job and having his father disagree with him to the point of Abusive Parents levels is pretty saddening. There's also the implication that Jesse at times doesn't mean to cause any harm, backfiring on him horribly.
    • Jeffrey Sr. as well. You know he wants Jesse to just be successful and actually achieve in life, but it's pretty hard for him to understand what Jesse really wants to do, the fact he has to endure Jesse's stubbornness and then deal with Jeffrey's socipathic tendencies, this says a lot.
      • Even more when Jesse and Uncle Larry clarified than he wasn't always like this, even Jesse stating his father became so angry/bitter when he graduated college.
      • Even Aunt Melissa confirmed that Jeffrey Sr. is not the same sweet person that she knew years ago.
    • Jeffrey Jr. could qualify for this when Jesse starts terrorizing him while he's planning his halloween party. He convinced Jesse to let him use the garage as his revenge for losing his motorcycle, and Jesse responds by dressing up as the Joker and harrassing him, launching a firework at him as he was preparing for his party, and inadvertantly getting Psycho Dad involved, as he destroys the tables and ruins the snacks he had laid out for the guests, all over what JESSE was doing. Sure, he was a bit unnecessarily abrasive to Jesse, but he wasn't really causing any real trouble in the video, and he was absolutely justified in his fury when his party was ruined, though most of it should have been directed more at his father than Jesse.
      • In "PRISONER OF WAR! *PSYCHO UPDATE*", it was revealed that Jeffrey never wanted to do accounting, or play sports, he wanted to do filming, just like Jesse. His dad pressured him into doing all this stuff, and because he was the oldest, he had to deal with Psycho Dad since he and Jesse were kids, while Jesse has only had to deal with him for a couple years. This fact makes it harder to get mad at what Jeffrey's done to Jesse, because he's doing it out of jealousy. Poor guy.
    • Suffice to say, Terry is one after Took a Level in Jerkass by becoming more and more unreasonable the longer she stays at Melissa's. She flat out tells her son to stop filming and handle his father on his own.
  • Just Here for Godzilla: A fair amount of Jesse's subscribers only watch his channel for the psycho videos, and don't pay attention to his vlogs.
  • Like You Would Really Do It: Both played straight and subverted.
    • In "DAMIEN'S TEMPTATION," Jesse appears to slip further into insanity when "Damien" tells him to use his dad's machines to destroy the house and take the safe. Given the fact that this came shortly after the destruction of Uncle Larry's RV and the Ridgways' pool, some viewers thought that Jesse actually would destroy the house. He doesn't go through with it, though.
    • Subverted in the penultimate episode, "Psycho Kid Kills Father." Many people had joked in the comments that the Psycho Series would end with murder, but few actually believed it would happen. However, Jesse does indeed kill Psycho Dad in the video.
  • Memetic Mutation: "Next video: Psycho Dad *insert destructive behavior here*"
    • The thumbnail of "Psycho Dad Axes Laptop".
    • "It flew"
    • "Get a job Jesse".
    • "THESE VIDEOS ARE FAKE!!!"
    • "I love this season's script!"
    • "Ow! My *insert body part here*!"
    • "Security reasons"
    • "Why start now"
    • "Cut your hair, Jesse"
    • A much known one and more known to be annoying meme is calling Jesse "Jessie", due to the fact Jesse once said in a vlog he hated having his name written like that. Many still do so because they're naive, or on purpose to call attention to Jesse's effeminate moments.
    • "It's just a prank bro!"
    • "*insert character's name here* is a savage!" (or other variants thereof)
    • "Two monkeys fucking a football"
    • "This all would've never happened if Jesse didn't play Xbox on his Dad's TV"
    • "What ails you?!" is popular to say on the subreddit.
    • "Daddy chill!" "...WHAT THE HELL IS EVEN THAT?!"
  • Misaimed Fandom: McJuggerNuggets details the destruction of a family detailing severe cases of child abuse, and Jeffrey Sr's rapid descent into madness combined with Jeffrey Jr's descent into Psychopathic Manchild, culminating with Jeffrey Sr. flat out assaulting Aunt Melissa and ending with Jesse murdering his father is a tragedy - many people simply laugh at this because they're either major assholes, or are convinced the whole thing is fake. Turns out it is fake.
    • To people who have grown up in legit abusive households, this entire series is a huge offense to them as they have experienced many of the same tactics - and it's Played for Laughs at points.
    • A bigger fandom stand point: Jesse is repeatedly blamed by some fans to be the cause as to why Terri and Jeffrey Sr. are divorcing, despite the fact Jeffrey Sr. was the one causing his believed Start of Darkness and driving him to being a Jerkass protagonist. Doesn't help Jesse himself doesn't help the matter as well.
      • His attempts to reunite his family also didn't help the matter with Terri basically telling him to screw off, Aunt Melissa showing her back to her normal ways, and Jeffrey Sr. blaming him for everything that happened between him and Terri.
    • For anyone who has dealt with a parent's sudden change of behavior and beliefs on the influence of a parent's Toxic Friend Influence or Wicked Step-Parent, Terry's Face–Heel Turn really hits too close to home.
    • Alcoholics who have or are in the process of recovering will find the antics of Melissa and Terry abusing alcohol quite offensive.
    • Double time for members that belong to drunk driving awareness and prevention groups like MADD and SADD, who would find Terry and Melissa's willingness to drive after drinking all day very offensive. Especially MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) will likely see how hypocritical Jesse's mother is, driving under the influence in front of her own son's eyes.
    • People who have lost loved ones to alcohol related accidents or health problems would find Melissa and Terry's liberal use of alcohol very offensive. People that still have alcoholic loved ones would find it a trigger for their own fears.
    • In the vlog "A SLAP IN THE FACE!", for anyone who's suffered abuse.
      • It doesn't help that most of the time when someone does speak up about being abused by their partner in general, they get laughed at and called a wimp for allowing a woman to do this to them.
  • Moment of Awesome: Now has it's own page.
  • Moral Event Horizon: In the Psycho Series, Jeffrey Sr. crosses it when he demolishes Jesse’s game room while he’s still inside, not caring that he could potentially kill his son. The viewers clearly felt this way, as this was the point where many of them began actually trying to call the Elmer, NJ police.
  • Narm:
    • The sound of Jesse's wail-screaming (here's an example) can be funny to listen to if one hears it as sounding similar to Lemongrab's screaming. Unfortunately, it also ruins moments where it's supposed to be genuinely saddening to listen to, like the end of "Psycho Mom Divorces Husband".
    • Psycho Dad Reacts to One Million Subscribers had Jesse constantly shouting when his was locked in the RV and being driven home by his brother. While the situation itself was serious, his screaming made it unintentionally funny, plus in Jeffrey's version of the video, you can't even hear it.
    • During "Psycho Family Therapy," when Jesse gets angry and takes his shirt off after Dr. Nelson suggests that video games make him more violent.
    • Tom's rant towards Jesse in the "WHAT I COULDN'T DO..." vlog, while supposed to come off as tear-jerky and rage-inducing comes off as Tom trying too hard to be angry and even sounding formulaic, going as far as using phrases such as "snivelling", "Fervent audacity", and "I will no longer be silenced!", especially with telling Jesse "I used to look up to you, but now I can't even look at you".
    • "Psycho Kid Kills Father" is pretty narmful to anyone who knows anything about guns.
      • Jesse's response to Jeffrey Jr. asking if he'll kill him after he sees him killing Jeffrey Sr.: "I'LL DO WHATEVER I NEED TO DO...TO SURVIVE!". The line is spoken as barbarically and over the top hammy as you think it would.
  • Nightmare Fuel: Now with its own page!
  • Paranoia Fuel:
    • Having someone like Jeffrey Sr. as a father would make anyone paranoid about having their possessions destroyed and/or stolen.
    • Emma the Styrofoam Head is this to Jesse as he sees it as the source of paranormal activites within the house he's fixing up to move into.
  • Rescued from the Scrappy Heap:
    • Jeffrey Jr. became more likable after the events of "PRISONER OF WAR! (PSYCHO UPDATE)" when we learn his Freudian Excuse, and that he seems to care a bit more about Jesse and especially Terri after she leaves their father.
    • Aunt Melissa as well when we learn her Jerkass personality was just a facade to be strong in front of Terry and dealing with her own abuse at home. Though she managed to return back to the scrappy heap when she returned back to her old ways sometime in New Years Eve.
    • Terry may be on her way there after witnessing her friend slap her son across the face. Even more so when it becomes apparent she's beginning to grow tired of Melissa's behaviour as well.
    • Uncle Chris has definitely softened up, especially in "HELL TO PAY!", where he managed to lower the debt to Warrior's truck that Jesse destroyed from $7500 to $5000, and told him to put the other $2500 towards getting his own place. Of course, Jesse then uses the money for a console giveaway instead. Later in "O BROTHER, WHERE ART THOU?", Chris gives one of the biggest The Reason You Suck speeches to Jeff Sr. ever on the channel, talking down to him about demolishing Jesse's gaming room and Larry's R.V. (though moments before Chris was justifying the former), telling him to let Jesse do his YouTube "job", and even talks down to Jeff Sr. about shooting the Xbox One, the latter especially surprising considering Chris and Jeff Sr. would normally see eye-to-eye about Jesse and video games.
  • The Scrappy: Pretty much everyone who isn't Uncle Larry, Corn, Georgie, or the farm ladies has a pretty sizable hatedom.
    • Jeffrey Sr. really is becoming this in the eyes of fans, with his controlling and flat out sociopathic levels of "discipline" to his kids and his loved ones. The fact he shows a Lack of Empathy at the harm he causes to everyone and uses the excuse of "I was disrespected!" makes it worse... Although there are still some viewers who believe he has valid points, especially in "PSYCHO DAD'S BREAKTHROUGH", although what he said about Larry after he crashed his truck in the pool didn't help matters.
    • Recently, Jesse himself has become the biggest one of all. The comments section has turned EXTREMELY nasty towards him, especially after he quit the farm job in "PATH OF THE ENLIGHTENED" and bossed his friends around in "Psycho Kid Submerges Motorcycle". Even more so after Psycho Dad Watches Mc Jugger Nuggets, where Jesse tells his dad that Corn was responsible for the Psycho videos even though he only filmed them. It's already becoming the second most disliked video on the channel after the aforementioned Psycho Kid Submerges Motorcycle.
    • Aunt Melissa was NOT liked by the viewers. Also counts as an in-universe example, as Jesse and even Uncle Larry hate her as well. There was a brief glimmer of hope that she could be rescued from the scrappy heap when she defended Terry from Jeff and came out to Jesse about her own problems... But that was promptly ruined when she went right back to her cruel, disrespectful behaviour towards everyone that's not Terry, turned Terry against her entire family, corrupted her into a clone of her, and her negative behaviour just got out of control.
    • Demma, an inanimate object that Jesse believes to be a demon. It is hated due to Jesse forcing it down viewers throats and being nothing more than to show that he is going insane. Some also find Jesse's borderline obsessive attachment to it to be irritating. Case in point: after Jesse destroys Psycho Dad's television, making the need to get away from the Ridgway house rather urgent, he gets out of the car to grab "Damien" and "Emma" (before he combined them). Even Uncle Larry lampshaded this with an exasperated-sounding "really, Jess?". Demma does get destroyed by Jesse in DEMMA'S DEMISE.
    • Juliette, Jesse's Girlfriend is a unique scrappy for two reasons:
      • The majority of the time, many viewers aren't interested in watching Jesse's vlogs that features Juliette as most viewers are getting tired of the Sickeningly Sweetheart moments when all they want to see is Jesse's vlogs of his family troubles and the Psycho Videos.
      • The other reason largely stems from her Frivolous Lawsuit threats against the Wikia, demanding that any personal information that pertains to her and her family to be removed when the information are publically avalable via her social media accounts and Jesse's own vlogs. It was the moment where Juliette showed her Jerkass self off camera in stark contrast to her nice persona in Jesse's vlogs. This caused many editors to lose complete respect towards her.
    • Brian, AKA YouTuber24, initially just a side character when Jesse was living on Aunt Melissa's property. Crossed into this territory when Brian showed his true colors of a Jerkass and threatened to sue Jesse if he released any more behind the scenes footage before Brian airs his documentary.
    • Tom, previously amongst the nicest characters in the series, became one after giving Jesse a "Reason You Suck" Speech in "WHAT I COULDN'T DO!".
  • Shocking Moments:
    • "Psycho Mom Divorces Husband" where Teresa decides to leave Mr. Ridgway after he gives Jesse shit for hitting Jeffrey in the head with a bottle despite Teresa (and even the fans) agreeing Jesse did so in self-defense. After he yet again destroys everything Jesse has (even smashing his room and car), Teresa finally has had enough and tells him she wants a divorce and storms out of the house in frustration, leaving Jesse emotionally devastated.
    • "Psycho Uncle Impacts Pool", which has Uncle Larry pull an implied Driven to Suicide act by destroying the Ridgway pool with his truck.
      • The "Holy Shit!" Quotient gets more severe when Uncle Larry tells Jesse he was trying to kill Jeffery Sr. in "WHAT I COULDN'T DO..."
    • "i'm a psychopath", where Jesse goes into a Despair Event Horizon and then says he might not be able to make videos anymore.
    • Four words: Psycho Kid Kills Father.
  • Space Whale Aesop: The only thing Jeffrey, Sr. seems to be teaching Jesse is that all of your problems can be solved by breaking other people's things.
  • Squick: In "MY FAULT! *PSYCHO UPDATE*, Jesse and Corn in there underwear while playing a game of beer pong with Melissa's Son and his friends. Granted viewers were already grabbing their Brain Bleaches in that scene.
    • Jeffrey giving his brother a bag with dog poop inside for his birthday.
  • Take That, Scrappy!:
    • "AUNT MELISSA FIGHTS PSYCHO DAD" and "NOT SO DIFFERENT" can be seen as these towards Melissa. Even more so after she reverted back to her Jerkass self after the events of the latter video.
    • "BOILING POINT!" features Jesse telling off Aunt Melissa and Terry quite brutally over their behavior. Granted they call him out as well, but considering the Black-and-Gray Morality over a Manchild being immature versus a Manchild mother and her drunken friend who have become more full fledged JerkAsses, it's bittersweet.
    • Admit it, you laughed when Jeffrey Sr. fell and rolled onto the ground in "Psycho Dad Chucks Super Nintendo", especially considering how much he wrecks Jesse's stuff and ruins the lives of everyone that loves him.
      • Even in-universe, Jesse chuckled at his Laser-Guided Karma. Although it becomes less funny upon learning that he injured himself in the process.
    • Those who didn't see it as hypocritical really enjoyed seeing Tom tear into Jesse during "WHAT I COULDN'T DO..."
  • They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Arguably the paranormal arc is this for some viewers.
    • A minor temporary example is anytime Jesse's girlfriend is featured in his vlog when he visits her (or vice versa), a common complaint from viewers is some variant of "another boring Juliet vlog!". ESPECIALLY after Juliette threatened to sue Wikia if all information pertaining to her and her family weren't removed from the Psycho Kid Wiki, which means that she can only be referred to as "Jesse's girlfriend"; comments refer to her as "JR" or "''her''".
      • In the above example when she threatened to sue Wikia, any respect the editors had for her were quickly dropped down the tube when she showed her Jerkass persona off camera and tossed aside her nice girl persona that most viewers see.
      • The frivolous nature to threaten was over the top since the information pretaning to Juliette, are accessed publicly via her social media accounts and through Jesse's vlogs.
    • A known one is how people complain how the channel used to have regular skits/series such as Jesse's old "The G.A.M.E." series, mainly because it showed that the Ridgway family is all sane and not problematic, however this can be rendered moot with the reveal at the end of "Psycho Kid Flees Country"
  • Tough Act to Follow: Many fans tend to feel ANYTHING after the Psycho Series is hard to follow in it's footsteps, the Haunted Series seemed to only be the close one.
  • Unintentionally Sympathetic:
    • Jeffrey Sr. is always presented as being in the wrong for his angry outbursts and belittling his sons, but he really wants his sons to succeed and get good jobs and stop acting immature and grow up, which Jeffrey did later on.
    • We are never supposed to sympathize with Melissa since she's a bitch to Jesse, but she comes across as sympathetic on "AUNT MELISSA FIGHTS PSYCHO DAD!" where Jeffrey Sr. pushes her into a tree and in "NOT MUCH DIFFERENT!", where she is being treated like a slave by her husband George.
      • In "THE FALLOUT! (PART 1)" where no one listens to her when she's only warning Terry about what will happen if Jesse lives with her and Jesse will dump all the work for her to do it.
      • She especially comes across as this in "THE DEVIL'S WOODS!", while she shouldn't have smashed possessions in Uncle Larry's trailer, she's actually stressed out as she has to take care of her family and Jesse is continuously thinking about himself and Jesse continues to live on her trailer and never apologizes for his wrongdoings.
  • Unintentionally Unsympathetic:
    • Many people find it very hard to sympathize with Jesse in spite of all the crap he goes through due to his Jerkass behaviour and It's All About Me attitude.
    • Mirror Jesse Issac often tries to convince us he's isn't really horrible and is simply Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds, but instead comes off as even more unlikeable than Psycho Kid as he does many uncomfortable things to his friends and family and shows no remorse for his actions.
    • Terry is slipping into this territory after Taking a level in Jerkass.
      • She may as well confirm this status after kicking her son out of his home in "THE FALLOUT (PART 2)" and almost verbatim disowning her son by saying "You don't need me anymore" in "THE DIVORCE PAPERS!".
  • Wangst: Though Jesse does have his fair share of issues, and is often justified in reacting the way he does when his dad breaks his stuff, he tends to overreact just as much. A notable example would be when he starts crying after Jeffrey gets mad at Uncle Larry when the latter has him dress in a humiliating costume for a skit.
  • What Do You Mean, It's Not for Kids?: Many Juggies as seen in Psycho Dad Reacts to One Million Juggies are presumably aged 9-12 and have sent Jesse fan mail (before his dad destroyed most of it), despite the fact that a lot of the videos contain swearing (mostly from Jesse himself), sexual references, violent content, family issues, and, as of late, attempted murder, ending with FLAT-OUT MURDER.
    • Jesse himself stated that he never intended for children to watch the videos.
  • The Woobie:
    • Teresa, considering she has to deal with a Jerkass husband, a Manchild son, and arguably a sociopathic son. Though she's slowly creeping into the Jerkass Woobie status after telling Jesse to stop with the camera and that the two are done and even more so with her treatment of Jesse onwards.
    • Uncle Larry, considering it's implied that the events of "Psycho Uncle Impacts Pool" were caused by the stress of Jeff's treatment of Jesse and by an extension, Terry, his sister. It's pretty obvious he's tiring of Jeff's asshole nature and is at the verge of suffering a Sanity Slippage.
