Go To

The Villain Wars is a genre of videos where footage of villains (and occasionally heroes) from various forms of media are edited into a series where they fight, form alliances & tell a story. The first series in this type was Disney Vs Non-Disney Villains and was created by Manwhoooo & 73windman in 2010. With the original war becoming so popular, various spinoffs were created with different slants on the concept. It has also gathered a small but dedicated fandom which uses its own forum.

Current List of Official Wars in this Genre:

  • Disney vs Non-Disney Villains [1]
  • Disney Villains War [2]
  • Disney vs Marvel Villains [3]
  • DC vs Marvel Villains War [4]
  • Malus: World of War (fanfic tournament) [5]
  • Animated vs Video Game Villains War [6]
  • Disney Heroes vs Villains [7]
  • Disney vs Anime Villains [8]
  • Non-Disney Villains Tournament [9]
  • Movie Villains War [10]
  • Heroes vs Villains [11]
  • Cartoon Villains War [12]
  • Worst Heroes and Villains War Ever [13]

Examples this series contains:

  • All There in the Manual: Many of the characters in these series have had their origins changed for the each series, example Thrax from Osmosis Jones was an ancient Greek monster Disney Vs Non Disney but in Non Disney Villains Tournament he is an alien
  • Cool Versus Awesome: The idea gives gives credence
  • Crossover: The whole Series is this, even more so in Non Disney Villains Tournament as it has crossed over with Disney Villains war and Disney vs Anime Villains
  • Devil, but No God: Zeus and the Greek Mythology is present but don't play much of a role in any series Hades, Loki and Hecate are all gods and are evil and that's not counting all the demons running around
  • Follow the Leader: After the popularity of Disney Vs Non-Disney Villains, many people then copied its formula. A lot of those became poplar themselves, and a part of the series.
  • Running Gag: Most Wars will have open their first round with Hades fighting someone.
  • Legion of Doom: Much of the fun is seeing many villains from different series team up.

    Disney vs Non Disney Villains
  • A God Am I: Rasputin believes himself the new god of discord after Eris was killed by Hades and what little remains of her power are in Rasputin's reliquary
  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Captain Hook. Good God, Captain James Hook goes from being the bubbling well-dressed fool in Peter Pan to a near unbeatable swashbuckling legend, from killing wizards, kings and monsters to dueling with The Kurgan. He even gets over his fear of crocodiles. It takes Admiral Zhao to take him out in the Battle of England, and even then he still survives.
    • Mok is trying his hardest to add Dimension Lord to his business card along with occult practitioner and rock star.
    • Abis Mal in canon was a bumbling thief but here he goes toe to toe with Admiral Zhao and helps in killing an Eldritch Abomination summoned by Skeletor.
    • Emperor Zurg still has his hammy moments but here he is the son of Maleficent and Hades, battles the whole Greek pantheon and ran unopposed thought all of Part 1 up until Megatron came in and nearly killed him.
    • Valmont's enforcers go from constantly losing to Jackie Chan to fighting off the 40 Thieves when retrieving the last of Shendu's talismans.
  • The Alcatraz:
    • Robtnik builds one for Kent Mansley. Its inmates include Horace, Jasper, Fuzzy Lumpkins, Long John Silver, McLeach, Gantu, Zartan, and most of Skeletor's Evil Warriors. The Mukhtar also becomes an inmate after his failed attempt to kill Evil Lyn
    • Walker runs one for ghosts. However, it is currently in a state of disrepair after Tzekel Kan attacked it to free Samhain.
  • All Girls Want Bad Boys: Rose is interested in Mozenrath but won’t admit it.
  • Ascended Fanon: The Sorcerers’ Society from Disney Vs Marvel Villains are introduced in Part 2. See Quirky Miniboss Squad below.
  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Played straight with the 40 Thieves after Ruber seemingly killed Sa'Luk and took control of them. Later on in Part 2, Ruber assigns them to Ch’Rell who has Hun manage them only for Sa'Luk to return, beat Hun, and reclaim the 40 Thieves.
  • Awesome Moment of Crowning: Anyone who becomes king of the world has this. At the end of Part 1, Ruber shouts a Badass Boast while his armies secure his rule, Ozai has a grand precession when he becomes king of the world halfway through Part 2, Azula delivers a Breaking Speech to Jafar towards the end of Part 2, Shan-Yu simply holds a celebration at the end of Part 2 and Mozenrath holds Shan Yu's funeral first which is quickly followed up by a grand celebration. However, this is slightly mitigated due to the fact that he becomes a Puppet King to the Archmage.
  • Back for the Finale: Chernabog, Frollo and Scar in Part 2's Finale.
  • Bad Guy Bar: Carface and Cat R. Waul run of these during Part 1 and re open it again near the end of Part 2. However, as of the first round of Part 3, it is currently in a state of disrepair considering the fact that Carface and Cat R. Waul are both currently stranded in Dimension X, along with Negaduck.
  • Bar Brawl: Gaston has one with Tyler.
  • Big Bad: With so many villains only several are considered major powers:
    • For Part 1, we have Maleficent, Hades, Frollo, Jafar, Zurg, Ruber, Mok, Hexxus, Eris and the Drej with Ruber arising as the ultimate victor.
    • For Part 2, Maleficent, Hades, Jafar, Zurg, Ruber, Mok, and Eris all return as big bads again alongside new heads like Xanatos, Cobra Commander, Skeletor, Ozai, Azula, Shan-Yu and Ch'Rell, with Shan-Yu arising as the victor.
    • For Part 3, Mok, Frollo, Skeletor, Zurg, Ruber, Azula, Cobra Commander and Shan-Yu return along with more big bads in the form of the Archmage, Mozenrath, the Major, the Homunculi, Abraham Kane, Bishop and Lady Tremaine.
    • In the Live-Action Universe, we have Jadis, Lord Beckett, Sauron, Voldemort, Pinhead, Cruella and Claw, President Snow and Russell Edgington.
    • In the CGI Universe we have Pitch Black, Syndrome, Maleficent, Maltazard and Di Z.
  • Big Sister Instinct: Lady Waltham goes off to kill Tzekal-Kan for killing her brother Clayton.
  • Book Ends: Many during the series due to being divided in three parts:
    • Part 1 Round 1´s first fight involves Hades summoning an ancient being (Hexxus) to take down a rival god (Zeus), it goes wrong. Part 1 Round 14´s first fight involves Hades summoning ancient beings (The Titans to take down a rival god (Eris), this time, it works.
    • Part 1 Round 1´s second fight involves Rothbart attempting to usurp Frollo. Part 1 Round 14´s second fight involves Rothbart attempting to usurp Maleficent, though this time, he fails to do so.
  • Breaking Speech: Azula gives one to the whole of Ruber's faction telling them how she is the one in charge and forcing Jafar to back down and be subservient. Later, Shan-Yu gives on Azula who banished all her minions in a fit of madness.
  • Brought Down to Normal: Amon takes Zhao's bending away. Gaston is also transformed from his monster form back into his human form by Dr. Facilier late in Part 2.
  • The Chessmaster: Mok has been doing this for all 3 wars now. Chernabog and the Stalker should also count.
  • Child by Rape: Played for laughs with Discord. Played depressingly straight with Long John Silver.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: David Xanatos, Cobra Commander and Abraham Kane.
  • Creator Cameo: More voice work but both Manwhoooo an 73windman have played a lot of the characters in this series.
  • Disney Owns This Trope: More like half of it, but still.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Rasputin gives this to the Evil Queen by taking her youth, beauty and life simply for her rejecting him. The Evil Queen herself does this by having Rameses’ son killed for Rameses forcing Maleficent out of Egypt. For Pinhead see You Have Failed Me below.
  • Death is Cheap: Was the case in early rounds for Frollo, Faciler, and Ursula but not so much the case anymore. McLeach never died from falling off a waterfall he just stayed low and healed Clayton and Gaston both also return from the dead thanks to Hades.
  • Demoted to Dragon Pete lost Wonderland and quickly ran to Maleficent for work.
    • Zorg becomes this to Pinhead upon activating the Lament Configuration.
    • This also happens to Skeletor when Hordak is released. Naturally, Skeletor backstabs him at an opportune moment.
  • Deal with the Devil: Dr. Faciler does this with Hades for new life in exchange for helping out every now and then. Rasputin also does this with Eris for more power which results in him becoming the new God of Chaos
    • Hades is surprisingly benevolent with these, even restoring Clayton to life when Clayton's sister Lady Waltham helps defend the Underworld. The aforementioned deal with Facilier works out even better for all parties involved, as Hades and Dr. Facilier become close allies and friends throughout the entirety of the series.
    • Rumplestilskin makes one of these with Pinhead in exchange for information on how to defeat Sauron. That favor however was called in during Part 3 after one of Pinhead's Cenobites orders him to construct a new Lament Configuration for Pinhead in exchange for his son's safety.
  • Divine Parentage: Zurg and Discord.
  • The Dragon: Numerous throughout the series:
    • Frollo has Ratcliffe, Captain Hook, and Gaston.
    • Mok has Professor Screweyes.
    • Ruber has Rasputin.
    • Maleficent had Ursula.
    • Cobra Commander had The Baroness.
    • Ch’Rell had Karai.
    • Chernabog has the Stalker.
  • Dragon Ascendant:
    • Shan-Yu, Yzma and Ratcliffe all become leaders of China, Peru and England respectively after Frollo's death and Ruber's takeover. Shan-Yu and Yzma team up and become so powerful they stand as a threat to the Fire Nation.
    • Pete becomes King of Wonderland after usurping Darla Dimple.
    • Azula becomes Queen of the World after Ozai is killed.
    • Gaston was hoping that he would become this since he is Frollo's only living relative and when Frollo died he would've taken his place. Tyler however killed him before he had the chance.
  • Dragon-in-Chief: Azula becomes this after Jafar kills Ozai. It doesn't last very long.
  • Demon Lords and Archdevils Chernabog, The Nightmare King and The Emperor of the Night.
  • Evil Is One Big, Happy Family: Shan-Yu's faction in Part 2 is perhaps the closest thing to this, at least until Mozenrath betrays Shan-Yu.
  • Evil Versus Oblivion: Oberon's Anti-Acolytes fight the Acolytes and Chernobog, who himself was originally defeated by The Dark Council.
  • Fish People: Ursula, Evil Manta, Marina Del Rey, Mer-Man and to a lesser extent, Gantu, count.
  • The Fundamentalist: Frollo though he changes his mind when Maleficent approaches him near the end of Part 1.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: The Lizard Leader just suddenly appeared out of nowhere for Ruber’s celebration and then got killed by Azula.
  • Hell: The animated universe and the live-action universe each have their own version.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: As is always the case Horned King is killed by the Black Cauldron. Ozai is also beaten close to death by Jafar, who leaves Shan Yu to deliver the killing blow, allowing him some much needed vengeance after Ozai murdered his entire village and lover..
  • Humanoid Abomination: Pinhead, The Lord of Darkness, Evil Genius the latter of which was made from the brother of Dr. Frankenstein and the body parts of dead Morganians and Freddy Krueger.
  • Interspecies Romance:
    • Hades and Maleficent (Greek god and Fae)
    • Loki and Nightmare Moon (Norse god and Fae)
  • Jerk Ass Genie: Jafar.
  • Know When to Fold Them: Shan-Yu, Ratcliffe and Yzma all leave Frollo to die as Ruber’s forces decimate France and Maleficent flees from Egypt when it is overrun by Lizard Men and Egyptian Rebels. Then in Part 2 it happens three times: First when Azula launches an invasion of Peru forcing Yzma and her allies to flee. Second: When Skeletor’s forces fail to take the Forbidden Mountains from Maleficent, forcing Skeletor and Webstor to retreat. Third: When Azula kills Shego forcing Dr. Drakken and the rest of his allies to flee from the Fire Nation.
  • Kill All Humans: The Drej are out to destroy the Earth.
  • A Lighter Shade of Black: Seeing as the villains range from omnicidal maniacs to harmless villains, this was bound to happen.
  • Mama Bear/Papa Wolf: Fox and Xanatos will do anything to protect their son, Alexander, as proven when they defeat the Valentine Brothers.
  • Man of Wealth and Taste: Mok has mostly been seen dressed for a formal occasion and both he and Forte appreciate classical music. Maleficent may also count as she always carries herself in a refined way.
  • Make an Example of Them: Pinhead does this to Count Olaf when he fails to protect the Lament Configuration.
  • Minion Shipping:
    • Karia and Dr. Mindbender

  • The Mole: Mok has Megavolt, Loki and Sarousch infiltrate several of the major factions.

  • Not Quite Dead: McLeach lives though falling off a waterfall in Part 1 and The Snow Queen is released from her prison of ice by Myotismon.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Ch’Rell wishes to destroy all of reality and rebuild it in his own image.
    • Chernabog wants to end all life on Earth.
  • The Omniscient Council of Vagueness: The Acolytes were this for the longest time until it’s revealed that they work for Chernabog. The Illuminati too which consists of Xanatos, Eli Pandarus, Kent Mansley and Valmont
  • One-Winged Angel: Narissa likes doing this. Hades also causes Gaston to undergo this in order to power him up although he returns him back to normal once he serves his purposes.
  • Overlord Jr..: Gaston joined Frollo in the hopes that if Frollo won and later died, then he would inherit the throne and become king, since he was his nephew.
  • Pragmatic Villainy: Shan-Yu consolidates his power after taking over the world by letting other faction leaders keep control over their own territories, but banning any new turf wars, and allowing civilians to do what they need to in order to rebuild after the last war. Notably, he grants the Xiaolin Monks their own piece of land at the beginning of Part 3 so that he won't go down the same path of Ruber and Ozai.
  • President Evil: Abraham Kane and Agent Bishop are both trying to get elected to this position. Bishop ultimately wins.
  • Put on a Bus: All CGI villains had only one round save for Oogie boogie and Malthazar who themselves only showed up for one more round each.
    • The Bus Came Back: Gavillain is going to be producing the CGI portion of the war for Part 3 and throughout Part 2 we caught up with Cruella, who came back after Cobra Commander kicked her out of the crime world, Carface and Cat R. Waul, who came back to reclaim their criminal empire and Megaton, who came back and fought against Zurg in an epic space brawl.
  • Pyrrhic Victory: Ruber wins Part 1 and becomes King of the World, but all of Frollo’s underlings are still alive and ruling their own lands. It’s inevitable that they will soon start another war.
  • Quirky Miniboss Squad: Mozenrath, Yzma, Ayam Aghoul, and Mad Madame Mim form the Sorcerers’ Society, a team of magic users that are a sub-division of Shan-Yu army.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Jafar and Rasputin as of the end of Part 1, until they are released again in Part 2. Discord and Samhain: Eventually resealed again. Mumm-Ra, Hordak, and Aku: All eventually destroyed. Chernabog, Pinhead and Shendu: All planning a breakout.
  • Spoiled Brat: Darla Dimple and Zurg (true story)
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Jafar hated serving Maleficent and hated Ozai and Azula just as much.
  • The Starscream: Aside from the Trope Namer, we also have Jafar and Nekron but Frollo and Ratcliffe killed him before anything could come of it.
    • Mozenrath also becomes one in Part 3 after h banishes Shan-Yu to Limbo in order to claim the throne. However, he is immediately made a Puppet King by his former master The Archmage.
  • Special Guest: Ebon and the Meta-breed from Static Shock as Warner Brothers owns the right to the entire original character of the show in other words all the villains.
  • Thieves' Guild: Sa'Luk and The Forty Thieves until he leaves to gain control of the Huntsclan. Valmont and the Dark Hand too.

  • Transforming Mecha: The Decepticons
  • Too Good for This Sinful Earth: Rameses’ son.
  • Turn Coat: Kent Mansley goes to Ruber after Malficent demotes Kent and put Tremaine above him. Karai also counts when Oroku Saki goes Omnicidal Maniac.
  • The Underworld: Hades runs the one in the animated universe. It gets taken over by Hexxus for part of Part 1 until Hades claims it back towards the end. Then, in the Part 2 finale, Mok ends up seizing control of the Underworld from Hades.
    • There's also Limbo, where Rasputin winds up after fighting Jafar. Jafar also sends Ruber there and it's revealed that the Horned King is there as well when Shan-Yu gets banished there. Rasputin eventually uses Eris's power to break himself and Ruber out.
    • And then there's Hell itself where Chernabog reigns supreme.
  • Unholy Matrimony:
    • Hades and Maleficent are this, until The Horned King fed lies to Maleficent about Hades and Eris so he could be this with her. However, they have appeared to repair their relationship by Part 3.
    • Ursula forced this on Frollo with hypnotism, until Morgana revealed it to the whole faction before Frollo and Ursula were married.
    • Queen La and Skeleton King if you can believe it.
    • David Xanatos and Fox.
    • Scar and Zira.
  • The Usurper: Quite a lot of examples since they're all villains.
    • Discord did this to his mother Nightmare Moon and attempted to again against Oberon.
    • Ch'rell booted out Oroku Saki from being the leader of the Foot Ninja Clan
    • Ruber tried this on Frollo but failed at least until the Part 1 finale...
    • England goes through many rulers. First, Prince John is overthrown and replaced with Pete. Then Pete gets booted out by El Supremo. Then he is replaced by Ratcliffe who is eventually replaced at the end of Part 2 by Amon.
    • Hades also ends up losing the Underowlrd quite frequently, first to Hexxus and then Mok
    • Starscream of course does this numerous times to Megatron.
  • Villainous Friendship: They are as follow:
    • Shan-Yu and Gaston were friends until Tyler killed Gaston.
    • Ratcliffe and Frollo started out as such but devolved into Teeth Clenched Team Work.
    • Rothbart was friends with El Supremo and presumably Messina before the war broke out and was on good terms with practically every other member of the faction, apart from Ruber.
    • Rameses and Kent Mansley started a friendship at the end of part 1 which continued throughout Parts 2 and 3, up to the point where Mansley drops everything to save Rameses after learning he is about to attack the Stepmothers' Three.
    • Gantu and Warp Darkmatter started out as Teeth Clenched Team Work but turned out as fire forged friends
    • Dr. Faciler and Hades started out as purely business but eventually grew into friendship.
    • Wizard of Wonderland is good friends with Lord Maliss and Darkheart up until they are all taken out by the Stepmothers' Three.
    • Long John Silver and McLeach.
    • Merman and Beast Man.
    • Hook, Rourke, and Shan-Yu.
    • Devimon and Dark Dragon.
    • Blitzwing and Lugnut.
  • Villain Protagonist: A weird number of times this happens.
    • Rameses was only out to liberate his people from Horned King and Maleficent and he saw Ruber’s forces as the means to do this. Then after Maleficent has the Evil Queen kill Rameses’ son in retaliation for the Battle of Egypt, Ramses releases Sealed Evil in a Can Mumm-Ra
    • Rasputin, Rothbart and the Emperor of the Night banding together to seal away Chernabog. The Dark Council did this before too.
    • Zurg destroys the Drej and thus ends up saving the Earth
    • Captain Hook destroyed the transmitter that Holi was sent to plant in the Live-Action World that would have let Mok take over the Multiverse.
    • Dr. Facilier “killing” Mok in the Part 1 finale and sealing away the demon that Mok summoned.
    • Shan-Yu is out to avenge the his dead wife who was killed by Ozai.
    • Oberon gathers Titania, Puck, Yono, Myostiomon, The Snow Queen, Nergal and Count Marzo to stop the Acolytes from releasing Chernabog.
  • Villain World: When the villains defeated the heroes, they just start fighting each other.
  • You Have Failed Me: Baxter Stockman has this as a running gag with him constantly losing body parts until he eventually becomes a cyborg. ** Olaf is tortured to death by Pinhead for allowing Narissa to make off with the Lament Configuration.
  • You Killed My Father: Enrico Maxwell's entire motivation for opposing Frollo is that Frollo killed his mother to keep up appearances.

    Disney vs Marvel Villains
  • Achilles' Heel: The lamp to Jafar, the Cauldron to the Horned King. You never know how many Disney villains’ lives are connected to metal objects until you pit them against Magneto…
  • Adaptational Badass: Several villains are given a badass boost, most notably Grimhilde.
    • In the part 2 finale Avalanche is able to take down Chernabog, the devil himself.
  • Aerith and Bob: In a world with names like Maleficent, Grimhilde, and Loki, you also have characters with names like David, Herman, and Alexander.
  • All Men Are Perverts: Inverted in that Grimhilde, a woman, is the one that rapes Facilier, a man.
  • All Myths Are True: Particularly in the case of Greek myths.
  • And I Must Scream: A few instances, mostable being Facilier having his heart ripped out of his body.
  • And Show It to You: Again with Grimhilde ripping out Facilier's heart.
  • Animal Motifs: A lot of supervillains.
  • Anyone Can Die: Played straight and played HARD in part one.
  • The Archmage: Guess.
  • Artifact of Doom: The Black Cauldron, the Casket of Ancient Winters, the Destroyer Armor, the Eye of Odin, the Gates of Hell
  • Art Shift: Largely due to the use of different animated incarnations. Especially present in regards to the Marvel villains.
  • Authority Equals Ass Kicking: Played straight with Maleficent, Hades, and Loki. Subverted with the Evil Queen (at least in part one), the Horned King, and Kingpin.
  • Axe-Crazy: Negaduck and Carnage.

  • Battle Couple: Hades and Maleficent; Later Doom and Loki. Fox and David Xanatos of course as well.
  • Beauty Equals Goodness: Averted with Enchantress, Maleficent, and the Queen who, while all are very beautiful, are three of the most ruthless villains in the series. Played straight with the Princesses.
  • Big Bad: Maleficent and Loki for their respective sides.
    • As of the part two finale, Osborn seems to be gravitating to this role.
  • Big Bad Ensemble: Let's see, in part one you've got Maleficent, Loki, Hades, Dr. Doom, Frollo, Grimhilde, Utron, Xanatos, and Magneto.
  • Bittersweet Ending: All of the villains have been thwarted in some way shape or form, and Chernabog has been sealed away. However, Mickey Mouse is missing and is in fact trapped in a limbo universe with his soul being possesed by Chernabog.
  • Black Magic: Maleficent's magic is this and it's the very reason why she can't open the gates of Hell.
  • Blatant Lies: Tremaine telling Maleficent that Hades no longer cares about her.
  • Blessed with Suck: Wonderman and Morbius
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Avalanche to Chernabog. Mickey to Chernabog. Enchantress to Dormammu.
  • Canon Welding: The entire Marvel universe and the entire Disney universe are merged together.
  • Cat Folk: Kraven after Doc Ock mutates him
  • Caught in the Rain: Mozenrath's fight with Fin Fang Foom in part 2.
  • Chekhov's Gun: You remember Snow White being rendered unconscious at Round 2? Yeah, it turns out that she is the one whose pure heart is used to open the gates of hell
    • Doom and Loki use the Bifrost to cross realms throughout part 2, once the final rounds of part two set in, it has essentially become the ultimate super weapon being used to destroy the animated realm.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Galactus and Narissa.
  • The Chessmaster: Loki, Maleficent, and the Archmage
    • As of part two, Norman Osborn has certainly caught up in this department
  • Creepy Ravens: Diablo and Grimhilde's Raven.
  • Cry for the Devil: Zira after Nuka's death, Maleficent after she loses her lover and life, Facilier after he has his heart ripped out and repeatedly raped.
    • Many felt this way in regards to Loki after Doom's apparent death in part two.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: There are several of these throughout the series, most notably being Grimhilde's forces being demolished by Loki's forces.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Several characters, most notably Hades.
  • Deal with the Devil: Wonderman to Hades, Avalanche to Maleficent and later Chernabog
  • Disney Owns This Trope: And how with Disney owning both their own villains and the Marvel ones. Fortunately, Disney has not filed any copyright claims for this series.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Any of the more morally gray characters end up dying horrible deaths such as Morbius or Wonderman.
  • The Dragon: Maleficent to Chernabog, Hades to Maleficent, Loki to Thanos, Enchantress to Loki, Cruella to Grimhilde, Zira to Scar, Demona to Xanatos, Jafar to Frollo(somewhat), Red Skull to Frollo, Helga to Jafar, Zurg to Hades, Doc Ock to Norman Osborn, Smythe to Kingpin, Mr. Sinister to Apocalypse, Baron Mordo to Dormammu, and the list just goes on.
  • Establishing Character Moment: In Round 1, we are introduced to Loki as he bursts into the Underworld and demands Hades’ throne. No one misinterpreted his character or motives from that moment onward.
  • Evil Overlord: Maleficent, Horned King, Loki, Dr. Doom, Hades, the Evil Queen, Mr. Sinister, Thanos, and the Archmage.
  • Evil Sorcerer: The Sorcerer's Society, Maleficent, Jafar, Enchantress, Baron Mordo, Facilier, and Demona.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: Grimhilde was a one-note, laughing stock villain until she became the Horned King's Starscream by orchestrating his death and taking over his faction with a vengeance.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: And how! With Grimhilde, particularly in part one.
  • The Grim Reaper: The object of Thanos's affections.
    • It plays a vital role in the part two finale as the Archmage's endgame.
  • Healing Potion: Played with. When Maleficent enters the CGI realm (ironically as her Kingdom Hearts persona), she can’t heal herself. However, David Xanatos can give her these from the 2D dimension, where he can manipulate Maleficent’s environment as though she was a video game character.
  • The Hecate Sisters: The Witches of Morva, the Weird Sisters, and the Sanderson Sisters.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: Happens to Klang.
    • I guess freeing the entity "Death" from Hell wasn't such a good idea, huh, Archmage?
  • Horned Humanoid: The Horned King of course. Chernabog as well. Maleficent and Loki subvert this trope in that their horns are only extravagant hats.
  • Humiliation Conga: Facilier starts off as a badass independent deal maker, then becomes a servant to the Horned King, then becomes an oppressed servant of Grimhilde, then is killed by Gambit after defecting from the faction, and finally is revived by Grimhilde to serve as her sex slave.
    • He gets better by part two.
  • I Have You Now, My Pretty: Grimhilde does this to Facilier.
  • Incorruptible Pure Pureness: Anastasia Tremaine has become this after maturing over the course of Cinderella III.
  • Keystone Army: The Cauldron Born
  • Large Ham: A requirement for any villain that wants to survive this war.
  • Living MacGuffin: The Disney princesses hold the key to opening the door to Hell, in an homage to Kingdom Hearts. Kairi is replaced with Anastasia Tremaine, though.
  • Living Shadow: How Ayam Aghoul is able to return.
  • Magic Mirror: As to be expected with the inclusion of Grimhilde.
  • Mob War: One of the principle conflicts of the series. Several go on, but the main one is over Kingpin's turf in New York City.
  • Mordor: The Forbidden Mountains
  • Motor Mouth: Morgana in part 2.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: Living Laser has been confirmed to not appear now. Also though that Zola and Humbert the Huntsman (in Animated form) weren't going to appear, but they later appeared. [[Spoiler: though in Humbert's case, the animated form was a cameo before he was brought into the live action realm]]
  • Nigh-Invulnerable: The Cauldron Born, at least until the Cauldron is messed with.
  • Non-Human Sidekick: Diablo to Maleficent, Iago to Jafar, Flotsam and Jetsam to Ursula, Roscoe and DeSoto to Sykes, Pain and Panic to Hades, this list goes on. Let's just make things simpler and just say most disney Villains in the war have at least one of these.
  • Not Quite Dead: Maleficent, Frollo, Mr. Sinister, McLeach, and Dr. Doom
  • Offstage Villainy: Loki conquers the Nine Realms sans Midgard entirely offscreen.
  • Orcus on His Throne: The Horned King and Grimhilde both display this trope. Subverted with Maleficent and Loki who, while both spending a good amount of time acting through minions, aren't above doing their own dirty work occasionally.
    • Mephisto is this way through most of part two. Subverted in the part two finale when he takes matters into his own hands.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: Frollo, Ratcliffe, and Red Skull were this to begin with. However, this is taken Up To Eleven when they literally form an alliance with Adolf Hitler.
  • Ragtag Bunch of Misfits: Maleficent's faction consists of a Greek god who is disliked by all the other gods, an exiled sea witch, an incompetent pirate, a fat humanoid cat, a snake themed sorcerer, a slutty former queen, and a young heartbroken mutant.
    • Most of the villain factions in the series that come out as winners are this.
  • Rags to Royalty: More like royalty to rags to royalty again in Grimhilde's case.
  • Ret-Gone: In the new remastered version, Scar vs Red Skull has been replaced with Red Skull vs Queen of Hearts, and Scar now has his own storyline with Zira.
  • The Rival: WAAAAY too many to name, but the more prominanent ones are Hades and Maleficent to Doom and Loki, Xanatos to Ultron, Frollo to Doom and later to Mr. Sinister, Jafar to Mesmero, and Grimhilde/Regina to Loki.
  • Scaled Up: Jafar and Maleficent.
  • The Starscream: Grimhilde to Horned King, Jafar to Maleficent, Facilier to Grimhilde, and a couple others that will be revealed in due time.
  • Talking Animal: Justified in that the animals have their own language and Kraven and Calypso are the only humans that speak it, therefore, are the only ones who the animals talk to.
  • They Really Do Love Each Other: A few instances with Hades and Maleficent.
  • Time Travel: How the Archmage survived his first fight and set several crucial plot points into motion.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Abis Mal
  • Treacherous Advisor: Jafar personifies this trope, especially in part 2. Yzma was one before the war.
  • Unwitting Pawn: To a degree, Avalanche.
  • Upgrade Artifact: The Eye of Odin to Loki.
  • Vain Sorceress: Grimhilde, Amora the Enchantress, and Yzma.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Chameleon, Mystique, and Maleficent.
  • War Is Glorious: Well the series IS an entire war between villains.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Magneto and Demona.
  • Word of God: GA has his own subforum where he talks about his creation.
  • The Worf Effect: Carnage against Negaduck, which is especially poignant to those who watched Disney vs. Non-Disney Villains first and watched that tournament use Him from The Powerpuff Girls to pull a Worf Effect on Negaduck himself.

    Malus: World of War
  • 0% Approval Rating: Claude Frollo. I think Phoebus put it well: "Not to mention, frankly, the whole world kind of hates you."
  • Adaptational Badass: Drake Stone goes from the whiny pre-madonna with barely any magical experience that we all know from The Sorcerer's Apprentice to a completely badass barrel of powerful magic and sheer willpower who can survive just about anything when he puts them both together, be it a broken trachea or tons of shrapnel entering his body. This guy ripped apart a whole army, which included a healthy number of tanks, by himself with only his anger-driven magic, not to mention force Horvath, who is quite the Badass himself, to take him seriously in a TRAINING EXERCISE (though a bloody brutal one at that)! Not to mention, he's far more clever than his canon counterpart. There's also the implication that he was a spy for the Huntsclan.
  • Evil Overlord: Many to name, including the ever infamous Lord Voldemort and Zeus, who technically rules the world as King of Olympus. But the most frequently referenced of the Evil Overlords in this series is Claude Frollo, a man fighting a winning war against magic and who more or less rules the known world.
  • The Worf Effect: Maxim Horvath, an established Badass who can curb-stomp the likes of Drake Stone, is curb-stomped himself by the Ahriman, who has been established as one of the leading Badasses in the tournament.
