la Creatura

Also known as: June, Juni, and Scuff Moth.

A biological atrocity created by mistake as a result of an experiment gone wrong, Juniper is a kind and friendly individual. However, a darker side arises when she comes into contact with certain individuals, invoking the uncontrollable and bloodthirsty wrath of a rarely seen and monstrous form, always resulting in the individual's death. As such, she is kept contained from the outside world in a cozy and comfortable isolation chamber in a secret facility, residing in an undisclosed location. She spends most of her time in her containment cell doing various activities, such as listening to music, playing video games, drawing, interacting with the facility's staff through the reinforced safety glass, or plotting her next escape.

You can find her Twitch channel here, an official archive of her VODs here, her official YouTube channel here, and you can also follow her on Twitter.

Tropes applying to Juniper herself:

  • Absurd Phobia: She has an irrational fear of sturgeons, particularly the prospect of them swimming up to her feet and doing a little "sucky sucky" on her toes.
  • Aloof Big Sister: Less so in front of her siblings but more towards strangers, as she is often stone-cold to people she does not know.
  • Artsy Beret: Her death's-head moth model sports a military beret. Her "Servant of Lune" model sports a more artistic one.
  • Berserk Button: Several.
    • Do not say that she lost to Pinwheel.
    • As her tardigrade friend Erik finds, do not call her "Kissy Juni".
  • Big Creepy-Crawlies: Even without factoring in her "Full Moon" form, Juniper's normal form is an adult woman-sized moth girl.
  • The Big Girl: Her full-moon form is among one of the largest, if not the largest, 2D rigged model of VTuber space Explanation.
  • Big Sister Bully: Although she is close to her younger siblings, she has stated that she must assert her "dominance" as the oldest in the family and, at one time, tried to prank her sister when they were younger (although the prank backfired).
  • Black Eyes of Crazy: Has black eyes and is an Eldritch Abomination who considers herself mentally unwell.
  • Blatant Lies:
    • Has repeatedly mentioned that she is not working on a new model while secretly working on a new one.
    • She will also state that she will not make another model "for a while", but will proceed to start making a new model within as little as a month.
  • Boob-Based Gag: Juniper reveals that she is well-endowed in a story involving Layna Lazar, a vampire VTuber. Because of her bust size, she had problems trying to take off a dress with a zipper, so she had to call Layna into the changing room for assistance.
  • Boys Like Creepy Critters:
    • Juniper is a very attractive Luna Moth. Given that, it's really no surprise most of her viewers are male.
    • Gender-inverted in her case, as she enjoys arthropods and keeps a sea snail as a pet.
  • Braids of Action: Her death's-head moth model sports two braids in a pigtail fashion.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: A literal example. Juniper was an actual paralegal with a law degree who is a fantastic artist and a full-time VTuber.
  • Chuunibyou: Her death's-head moth model sports an eyepatch that Juni herself stated to be chuuni.
  • Computer Voice: Baby Juni is now a fully functional independent entity that acts as a vehicle for Juni's chat to communicate with her in a Microsoft Sam-esque voice.
  • Cool Big Sis: She is the oldest of four siblings and is very close with her younger brothers. She has also mentioned that her youngest sister has been eerily following in her footsteps, with her viewers joking about any future collabs with the two.
  • Cool Mask: Her "Servant of Lune" model sports a cool-looking mandible mask.
  • Costume Porn: Another part of her appeal. Due to her artistic background, this means that she has multiple clothes/costumes/etc.
  • Cute Monster Girl: She's a pretty attractive moth girl...until she breaches containment...
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Self-admits as one, as she is often aloof to strangers at first.
  • Dream Sequence: Juniper is known to have some vivid and utterly bizarre dreams that she will tell to her chat. Sometimes, she may even draw characters from said dreams.
  • Eccentric Artist: Juniper loves to create works of art that many would see as unconventional/non-traditional. This includes works of art that range from cute but deadly praying mantis girls, to what can only be described as Pagan gods, to Lovecraftian/Eldritch horrors.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Her "Full Moon" form.
  • Embarrassing Hobby: Juniper revealed she got back to Genshin Impact despite deriding it in the past. She apparently fell for it after listening to Genshin's music before falling even further after realizing that the music came from Scaramouche, whom she calls an "evil, cute twink".
    • Another hobby that she had become embarrassed by was her childhood fascination with the Warrior Cats series.
  • Emasculated Cuckold: During her old workplace, she was often the one accidentally giving it and was at the receiving end of an NTR/cheating/cuckoldry scandal. It is a story she often tells to her chat due to how funny and bizarre it was, but how true it is, is up to one's imagination.
  • Embarrassing Nickname:
    • Calling her the "Feetuber" definitely gets her riled up. So much so that she banned the infamous feet emojis after finally stressing to her chat how much that creeped her out.
    • Another nickname is "Moth Mommy" despite stressing that she is only in her early 20s.
Juniper: I am too young to be called a mommy!
    • She also gets annoyed at being called a "Femcel" due to her reclusive nature.
  • Epic Fail: During her playthrough in Dark Souls 2, in the Royal Army Campsite, Juniper was killed by a Mimic not once, not twice, but four times in the exact same spot.
  • Eyes Do Not Belong There: Keeping up with her eldritch and lunar moth theme. Her "Servant of Lune" model has eyes on her wings and a floating eye halo.
  • Face Full of Alien Wing-Wong: Juniper's 'moth goop' is a parasitic substance that, once it latches on to an organism, the host is forced to give birth to multiple baby moths, even if it's a man. There is a running gag where some members of her chat will inform Juniper that she accidentally got them pregnant.
  • Fan Community Nickname: Initially the Lunapostles, then the Legion, and now seemingly the Lunatics, though it's rather unclear.
  • Fetishes Are Weird: Due to her highly intricate designs, animation, and rigging process combined with her Monster Girl persona, Juniper ended up attracting a whole bunch of unintended fetishists from pretty much anyone she collabs with, not just her chat. Being the most normal and conservative of the Bottom Queens had put Juniper in a very awkward spot during her collab with Shylily, Numi, and Bao.
Juniper: Last time I streamed, I had to tell my chat to stop fetishizing every part of my body!
  • Flower Mouth: Her la Creatura model has her mouth opened into multiple segments.
  • Foil: To Yuzu. They are both imprisoned moth VTubers with moth pets, but they differ in so many ways:
    • Juniper's color scheme tends to be darker, while Yuzu's is lighter.
    • Juniper is more modest and reserved about her fetishes, even banning the notorious feet emojis out of discomfort, and wears modest outfits. Yuzu is more open about her perversions and wears revealing outfits.
    • Juniper's Containment incarnation is an Animalistic Abomination perpetually imprisoned in an SCP-style containment chamber and thus Sci-Fi Horror themed. Yuzu is an imprisoned, elegant moth spirit, making her more fantasy-themed.
  • Gentle Giant: Way above the global average height for women and is part of...well...the Bottom Queens.
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: Juniper can only sleep properly if she hugs her Appa plushie, which she had when she was a kid. Her chat predictably teases on how 'crusty' it is.
  • Girl Posse: Juniper is sometimes part of what some may unofficially call the "Big Six" Indie Vtubers (They are called that as they are the most famous Indie Vtubers with pretty large fanbases of their own), with the other five being Numi, Bao, Shylily, Yuzu and Trickywi. They are often the ones Juniper most likely collab with, although she is also pretty close friends with Porcelain Maid and Naiyo. Collectively, the "Big Six" is best known by their nickname as the "Bottom Queens" due to their...shared behaviour...
  • Grim Up North: An Alaskan native, she sometimes talks about odd cultural customs in her home state.
  • Has a Type: If her addiction to Genshin is anything to go by, she is "really attracted" to her 'Boywife'. And she later expanded upon it in that she specifically craves femboys, twinks, and anything that is effectively a "feminine man". She then bought a noticeable body pillow, sealing all doubts.
  • Height Angst: Juniper suffers the opposite insecurity of Shylily. While Shylily takes issue with her diminutive height, Juniper feels embarrassed by being too tall.
  • Height Insult: On the other hand, Juniper isn't above poking fun at how comparatively short some of her compatriots are, like when she stated she can literally throw Layna like a football.
  • Hiding from Embarrassment: Two examples:
    • During one of her streams, chat pressured her to show what she had as her PC wallpaper. She initially stood her ground but eventually cracked, revealing that her wallpaper is a picture of Scaramouche. She got so embarrassed she ended the stream afterward.
    • During her second 'flesh' stream, Juniper got progressively more drunk, until she was completely wasted. The entire stream was such a train wreck that she got immediately embarrassed and attempted to remove half of the VOD. Unfortunately for her, clippers managed to preserve some of it, in all its glory.
Juniper: [drunk] The capital of Anchorage is Alaska....wait...the capital of Anch-FUCK!
  • Hopeless with Tech: Basic Understanding. When Juniper replaced her water-logged laptop with a desktop, she didn't know how to turn it on because she didn't know there was a difference between the PSU switch and the power button.
  • I Am a Humanitarian: She constantly eats her interns when she breaches containment, and it is also wonderfully animated.
  • Insult of Endearment: "Scuff Moth", coined by Juniper herself, as she can't seem to make it through a stream without something going awry. While she got better about not making larger displays of "scuff" in more recent streams, having multiple occurrences per stream keeps the name alive.
  • Jaw Drop: Not surprising given her prudish nature, but still funny to witness anyway, especially when she learned that Yuzu had to indirectly explain what the "Eiffel Tower" story was about. Suffice to say, Juniper's reaction was the same as Numi's and Tricky's.
  • Leg Focus: Sometimes shows off her model's legs, mainly for artistic reasons.
Bao: Juniper is more leg than person!
Juniper: Whenever I sit down, I feel like a Great Dane.
  • Light/Darkness Juxtaposition: Juniper is the dark to Sanagi Yuzu's light. Juniper, as her name implies, is a Lunar Moth, with a black, grey, and dark green coloration. Yuzu is based on a Japanese Silk Moth, with a bright orange and white coloration.
  • Loners Are Freaks: Downplayed. Juniper isn't a NEET, but her very specialized content means that it is uncommon for her to do a collab in contrast to the other Bottom Queens.
  • Long Neck: She admits that her neck is long and slim, partly explaining her comparatively tall height.
  • Macabre Moth Motif: Justified. She literally is a moth due to an experiment gone wrong.
  • Meganekko: Her "Servant of Lune" model can sport glasses. According to her, she looks like a librarian.
  • Mistaken for Fake Hair: Eyelashes, in this case, but the trope still applies. Ever since she did her half-face reveal, chat thought that she put on fake eyelash extensions for makeup. She confirmed, however, that not only are her eyelashes natural, but they are really that long.
  • Moth Menace: Averted with her normal and baby forms, but played completely straight with her "Full Moon" form.
  • Multi-Armed and Dangerous: All incarnations of Juniper have multiple sets of arms.
  • The Multiverse: Juniper is one of the few VTubers with two lores or incarnations. The first is the Celestial timeline, where Juni is a servant of an Eldritch god. The second is the Containment timeline, where Juni is an experimental biohazard contained in an SCP-esque prison.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Juniper finds the creatures of the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park to be very adorable, if this stream is anything to go by (apart from the Amorphous Shame).
  • One Head Taller: To most of her compatriots that she collab with. But it is definitely obvious when she collaborated with Bao who is only a 152 centimeters tall.
  • Only Sane Woman: Ironic given that Juniper herself stated that she is mentally unstable, but she is the Bottom Queen who isn't a full-blown degenerate. This makes her stand out all the more in the absolute chaos that is a Bottom Queen collab.
  • Overly-Long Tongue: Has a very long tongue on her model.
  • Pit Girls: Her "Racing Queen" model is pretty self-explanatory.
  • Pretty in Mink: Sort of. The "Servant of Lune" model sports a thick, winter-like cloak and wears a mink-like shortcape.
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Her death's-head moth model, which has black hair with orange highlights.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Her "baby mode" form is essentially a fat, fluffy moth with Black Bead Eyes and a Playful Cat Smile.
  • Sanity Slippage: During her playthrough on Rain World, she suffers this as she was unable to pass the infamous Five Pebbles level. Eventually, her mask slipped, and she snapped.
  • Self-Deprecation: She is known to make fun of herself, like calling herself pathetic or embarrassing.
  • Self-Made Woman: Juniper truly defines this trope. Everything, including her art, modeling, rigging, and even taxes is primarily done by her. She of course isn't a one-woman team, as she has folks to assist in her finances and chat moderation, but overall, she is the most Indie VTuber of them all.
  • "Silly Me" Gesture: She characteristically uses the "Silly Me" quote whenever something amusing or suspicious appears around her.
    Juniper: Eh heh... Eto.... *bleh*
  • Signature Laugh: Has a very distinctive ear-piercing scream when she laughs, which is startling given her pretty calm and demure behavior.
  • Sinister Scythe: Her "Servant of Lune" sports a wicked-looking scythe.
  • The Smart Girl: Easily seen as the smartest of the Bottom Queens. She has a degree in legal studies and worked in law firms as a freelance paralegal, and she is very knowledgeable on anything related to bugs, animals, or paleontology, which is not surprising given the origin of her name (Actias being the genus of the Luna Moth).
  • Straight Man: As the most normal and prudish Bottom Queen, Juniper plays this trope to the max. One have to look at the absolute chaos that was the collab with Shylily, Bao and Numi.
  • Statuesque Stunner: Juniper is very tall for a woman, which she always likes to show off, and her models are also always 50% leg; as such, she is by far the tallest Bottom Queen. And it gets even more ridiculous when she incorporates it with her Full Moon form, which is already gigantic. Whenever she collabs with another VTuber, she is guaranteed to show off her model's height.
  • Super-Deformed: Her chibi form is this, naturally.
  • Tomboy: Both Juniper and her sister are tomboys as they like Warhammer 40,000, read Claymore, fucking love dinosaurs, are interested in insects, and hate high heels.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: Juniper has very tomboyish tendencies, as she's described on multiple occasions, contrasting with the fellow moth Bottom Queen Yuzu, who is more feminine.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: She likes her fashion as shown in her models...and her Appa plushie.
  • Tomboyish Voice: Her voice is the deepest out of the Bottom Queens.
  • Token Wholesome: While Juniper isn't ignorant of dirty jokes and may partake in them occasionally, she is pretty conservative and has a limit on how much she can take with fetishes on her chat. Of the Bottom Queens, Juniper's content is the most 'family-friendly'.
  • Tsundere: Despite her fierce appearance and attempts at maintaining "dominance", she admits she is a big softy at heart.
  • The Unmasking: On the 24th of November 2023, Juniper did her first "real-life flesh streaming" event. It was originally planned for 'technical streams' every two weeks but soon became a weekly affair due to its popularity.
  • The Quiet One: Of the Bottom Queens, Juniper is the quietest. One must look at one of her collabs to see how comparatively quiet she is when Bao or Numi dominates the space. She typically only speaks when she is given a chance to.
  • Verbal Tic: Her hiccups, which she often has.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Of the Bottom Queens, Juniper is close friends with Yuzu and Bao. She also has good relations with Shylily and Numi and is acquainted with Trickywi. She downplays this by virtue of being the least combative of the Bottom Queens, but she does put some jabs here and there. Outside of the group, she is often seen with Porcelain Maid and Naiyospede.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Like normal moths, Juniper can enter multiple forms that offer different advantages. Her small forms are great for being kicked around, and a larger form allows her to eat interns that wander into her containment cell.
  • Workaholic: Juniper and her entire family. Given the sheer amount of models she creates, is anyone surprised?
  • Wolverine Claws: Her death's-head moth model's secondary appendages are equipped with two scythe-like blades.
