  • All-Star Cast: We've got Justin Long (Spyro), Ashley Tisdale (Stealth Elf), Jonathan Banks (Eruptor), Bobcat Goldthwait (Pop Fizz), James Hetfield (Wolfgang), Norm MacDonald (Glumshanks), Catherine O'Hara (Kaossandra), Susan Sarandon (Golden Queen), and Harland Williams (Hugo). Season 2 brings in Felicia Day as Cynder while season 3 has Rhys Darby (replacing Eric Rogers) and Tara Strong as Crash and Coco Bandicoot, respectively.
  • Content Leak: Before season 2 premiered, Ashley Tisdale uploaded a picture of a part of a scirpt from an unknown episode, which turned out to be "The Truth is in Here" from season 3. The part of the script mentioned both Malefor and Dark Spyro, revealing that both would appear, just not when they would.
  • The Danza: At different points, Spyro and Glumshanks call Kaos "Steve"- Kaos is voiced by Richard Steven Horvitz.
  • Descended Creator: Showrunner Eric Rogers voices Crash Bandicoot, though only in the first season.
  • Fake Australian: Non-Australian Eric Rogers voiced Crash Bandicoot in his first appereance, and kiwi actor Rhys Darby in his second.
  • God Does Not Own This World: Eric Rogers steps down as showrunner starting in season 3 due to other commitments.
  • The Other Darrin: Nearly everyone from the games got a new actor, with the exception of Kaos (it's tough to top Richard Steven Horvitz), Pop Fizz, and Jet-Vac. For instance, Spyro was voiced for the Skylanders games by Josh Keaton and later Matthew Mercer; here, Justin Long (aka Mac from Apple's "Mac vs. PC" commercials) takes over. (This means that Spyro now has his seventh voice actor; he was previously voiced by Carlos Alazraqui, Tom Kenny, Jess Harnell, and Elijah Wood. The first three handled the PS1/PS2 era games, with Wood taking over for The Legend of Spyro trilogy.) With Cynder, she's on her fifth voice actress (having three different actresses- Cree Summer, Mae Whitman, and Christina Ricci- in the Legend games, while the Skylanders games had Tobie LaSalandra take over).
    • Malefor is voiced by Jim Cummings, as opposed to Mark Hamill in the Legend games (he never appeared in a Skylanders game).
    • Because of Eric Rogers leaving the series, his role as Crash Bandicoot was taken over by series newcomer Rhys Darby.
    • Tara Strong voices Coco Bandicoot, making her the fourth person to voice her after Vicki Winters, Debi Derryberry, and Hynden Walch.
    • The Brazilian Portuguese dub does not keep any of the original actors, despite both works being dubbed in the same city (Rio de Janeiro). Taken further in season 2, where the dub moved to Sao Paulo, keeping only Raphael Rossatto as Spyro.
    • Italy has it worse, as the games are dubbed in Milan and the cartoon is dubbed in Rome.
    • The Swedish dub mostly has the voice actors from the games reprise their characters for the main ones, except for Spyro, Stealth Elf, Glumshanks and Kaossandra.
  • The Other Marty:
    • Due to Eric Rogers quitting the show after season 2, Crash Bandicoot was in turn voiced by Rhys Darby.
    • The Swedish dub had a ton of these moments. Snap Shot was voiced by Rennie Mirro in season 1, but did not voice the character at any point in the two following seasons, with Urban Wrethagen doing it instead. Elina Raeder, who voiced Dreamcatcher and Roller Brawl in the first two seasons, did not return for the third. Freddy Åsblom voiced Wind-Up for the first season, then never again despite having other roles in the two following seasons, the list goes on. Not even the main characters were safe, as for the third season, Eon went from being voiced by Hans Wahlgren to Anders Byström.
  • Playing Against Type:
    • Jonathan Banks- Mike Ehrmantraut- in a family-friendly show (as Eruptor). Also, Norm MacDonald's performance as Glumshanks is very understated, as opposed to most of his other roles, where he's quite a bit hammier.
    • Jason Ritter's most iconic animation role was the good natured Dipper Pines. Here, he's cast as Dark Spyro.
  • Role Reprise: Richard Steven Horvitz, Jonny Rees (aka Greg Ellis), Bobcat Goldthwait, Billy West, Fred Tatasciore and Patrick Warburton are the only actors from the games to reprise their roles from the games, returning to voice Kaos, Jet-Vac, Pop Fizz, Food Fight, Snap Shot and Flynn respectively.
  • Throw It In!: Showrunner Eric Rogers did the scratch track for Crash Bandicoot, and his bosses liked his performance so much, they gave the role to him entirely.
  • What Could Have Been:
  • You Look Familiar: Chris Cox, who voiced Glumshanks in the games, is recast as Bomb Shell for the show.
  • Word of Gay: Eric Rogers said on Twitter that he views Jet-Vac as transgender since he started working on the show and wanted to have some reference to it in season two but was denied by "people above his pay grade".
