Roleplay of Geass is a forum dedicated to Code Geass roleplay, located on Fanfiction Dot Net. It was created in 2010 and has continued to see activity up until 2019.

Organised by Blazing Demon, the roleplays follow the original storyline of the anime, except with the addition of original characters. Said characters are meant to complement the original story, and not overtake it.

The main roleplays of interest are Turning Colours (Tāningu-shoku) and its sequel, Twisted Colours (Tsuisuto-shoku).

Tropes present in "Turning Colours":

  • The Ace: Bezide Ascato is infuriatingly perfect at everything, fights using a broken as hell machine, and is even stated to have been born / made that way.
  • Affably Evil: Crine Dela Ranefort is just a nice old man, Friend to All Living Things, and always polite to everyone...oh, is that hug of his hurting you?
  • Arch-Enemy: A number of them for various people:
    • Alec has Mr. Aside, the devious schemer who apparently killed a large number of his GHOST unit and defeated him in the past.
    • Charlie has Sean, due to a really badly devised gambit by Sean, basically lambasting Charlie over My Greatest Failure.
    • Samson has Krauser, his former superior, who was the one who "burned" him.
    • The White Dragons to the Black Knights, until relatively recently.
  • Ax-Crazy:
    • Darker. There are more Ax Crazy characters, but tellingly, Darker's birth name is AX-L.
    • The majority of the Huckebein Family. Emphasis on Kyrie, more entertaining and less out and out insane, Tommy, who is...not mentally well, and will strangle you for a crooked tie, and Fortin, who is Wicked Cultured and likes discussing the various elements of a successful slaughter.
  • Badass Family: The Huckebein Family might not all be related by blood, but they kick ass like nobody's business. They also have a humongous gallery of custom Knightmares for people based on temperament.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall:
    • More like turning the fourth wall into dust: Cade has a Twitter page, where he talks about upcoming events and gives his reaction to them.
    • C.C had assumed Lelouch would've fainted from watching her and Anise, leaving people confused as to why she would think that. In the discussion thread Blazing elaborated that she really meant I bet Glass Has passed out by now.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Nero Fi Britannia has a tendency to go ape shit and murder people over the smallest things, including a person handling her luggage incorrectly or accidentally buying the wrong soap.
    • When Bezide got blamed by Anya in Failure-to-Save Murder fashion for the deaths of hundreds of civilians, things...got kinda scary.
    • Alec seems to have a Berserk Button in people trying to take the SABRE's tech for their own. Mr. Aside tried it and ended up having to fight through a base, and he reacted with an apoplexy when Samson revealed the Fenrir.
  • BFG: The Messiah Fortress was armed with the Sister Ray Cannon, the BFG to end all Big Effing Guns. Called a Solar Hadron Cannon, its powered by a number of reactors, the power of all Tokyo, and the sun. Its confirmed to be strong enough to do enough damage to, with a clean shot, destroy an entire army and the area around them for miles on end. The problem is getting that clean shot. It was actually fired, showing it was a worthwhile investment, defeating the previously undefeatable Archangel warship.
  • Combat Tentacles: Yuji Mukado has these as the reason he does not have a gun. Each of them is tipped with a deadly blade, and can rip enemies limb from limb. It goes up to eleven with his Knightmare, Ballad Bird, a huge Spider Tank.
  • Crapsaccharine World: Nero and Himmler's Area 11 in a nutshell. The streets are clean, there's relatively no crime and unrest, and there's integration between Japanese and Britannian systems. This however is mostly because the Lesser Clans have defected and become a part of Specialized Security, thus "integrating" Japanese citizens into oppressing other Japanese citizens. The streets? "Clean" and "Safe" because anyone who detracts from this meets Robert Arguss and his squad of street fighters who seem to emerge from alleyways and derelict buildings, and anyone who raises dispute about the safety or equality of the Japanese disappears late at night. The so called equality is only in existence because Himmler believes in a spectacularly insane race breeding scheme to create "aryans". Behind the scenes, life is being crushed under a jackboot.
  • Create Your Own Villain: Kyrl essentally made Gadvein Allrage, whom went on a Roaring Rampage Of Revenge and killed a hell of a lot of civilians... and Kyrl's responce to this is ammusment and Evilolz
  • Dark Action Girl: Lisa, eventually, after enough heartache makes her snap. She goes from pervy fangirl to destructive, Cute and Psycho, and Ax-Crazy.
  • Day of the Jackboot: After the relatively more stable and well intentioned policies of the Triumvirate, and the Black Rebellion that put an end to their day, Nero and Henry Himmler took over Area 11, and it quickly went to this trope. While Britannia has had its share of Nazi-esque moments, Specialized Security puts those to the forefront especially as it "assists" in the governance of Japan. Those who cooperate and forsake Japan's past in favor of Nero's shows that put on its appearance and Himmler's various "Britannianization" plans get to live comfortably and with the blessings of Specialized Security. Those who don't? They're never heard from again.
  • Demoted to Extra:
    • Suzaku suffered from this he didn't even appear in the Narita 'turn'. He got promoted to supporting character to Euphemia after the events at Shikinei Island. Although he's now back to main character status after the CF invasion.
    • Poor Huckebein Family. Though in Vian's plans, they get their old role back and then some in R1.5
  • Discontinuity Nod:
    • The Omega events with Zero even lampshading it later on and Kyrl outright stating that he only did enough to be killed for it.
    • A small one involving the hill battle between the UNLE vs Nevina and Laag. Around the time of Anya arriving, Nevina laments how Laag died of his injuries because of her poor judgment. Where as he had originally survived from them but didn't appear again in the rp.
    • Almost the entire outcome of the Nunnally and C.C. dream sequence that resulted in Nunnally being able to walk and see. "At least you had that week of her being able to walk alongside you, even if she doesn't remember it." ~ C.C.
  • Elite Mooks: The new Britannian machines Eriadont churned out are this. Much harder to kill, faster and more maneuverable, and they hit hard in comparison to the older models.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Kryl and Declea both supported Caesar's plan to keep the war going by killing many innocent Britannians. However, when Caesar causes the destruction of Los Angeles, and the deaths of millions, they're horrified.
  • Evil Counterpart:
    • The White Dragons to the Black Knights. Though less so over time, as Infinity becomes more humanized.
    • Bezide has one in Mr. Aside, who has the exact opposite world view of Bezide (Humans Are Special vs. Puny Earthlings) and Bezide's white and blue 0-Quantum contrasted against the gold and black Tachyon.
  • Evil Old Folks:
    • Crine again, but more of a Well-Intentioned Extremist Old Folks. To elaborate more on what makes him bad would spoil things.
    • This plus Ax-Crazy and Serial Killer is Oscar Kopfangr's nature. He acts weird and spacey, but his kill count and nature are nightmarish.
  • From Bad to Worse: The R1.5 RP starts us off with Cornelia out, a month after the Black Rebellion's ultimate collapse. The State Sec group Specialized Security has emerged very powerful indeed, backing Nero for the Viceroy position. "At what cost" indeed.
  • Gambit Pileup:Everyone and their MOTHER has something planned:
    • At the start of the SAZ - Mellura, Crine, Kyrie, Declea, Mr. Aside, Charlie, the OSI, Katherine, Chrono, Gadrev, Markos, Masahide Mori, and others are now starting the more important phases of their plans, meaning things are about to get extremely complicated.
    • Nero Fi Britannia has spent the majority of her existence in the RP forwarding her own horribly obvious plan for world domination that somehow everybody is oblivious to.
  • Gratuitous Japanese: The title is actually Taningu Shoku, which translates into Turning Colours.
  • Heroic BSoD: Lelouch as Zero does this in the mental sense where, he can't think properly and stalls for about a day after countless Britannian civilians are killed by knightmares disguised as Black Knights. He gets over it with a combination of Infinity openly mocking him in a broadcast and the Crimson Phoneix's declare him their enemy... suffice to say it certainly got worse before he got better.
  • Hufflepuff House: Australia. They only recently started to do things, and have an air force. Even still, they haven't exactly made much of an impact.
  • Humongous Mecha: The "Tachyon" line of Knightmares. While the 2-Tachyon is slightly smaller than the 1-Tachyon, it is still well over six meters tall, making it this in comparison to the smaller Knightmares.
  • In the Blood: The fate of most Lpagne's, not that they even have to be a blood relative. Whether they where born with the last name, adopted(see Cade), or married into the family, NOBODY with the last name Lpagne has had a good life froim adolescence onward.
  • It Gets Easier: Fortin's feelings on murder. He even has a Hannibal Lecture planned on this subject.
  • I Have Boobs, You Must Obey!: C.C. resorted to pressing herself against Mikhalis to make him risk life and limb after already nearly being killed several times just a few hours before.
    • In addition to using them on her subordinates, Nero Fi Britannia's breasts also serve as her infinite storage device, having produced weapons, phones, and other objects from her bountiful bosom.
  • I Lied: Third High General, Caesar Octavius is indicated to do this even in battle, but when he forms a conspiracy with Delcea and Kryl to keep the war going, he blatantly lies to them about what he's going to do. They think he's going to stage an attack on Britannian civilians in Area 11, and pin in on the Black Knights. While he pins it on the Black Knights, instead of staging an attack, he backs a radical terrorist group, and has them attack Los Angeles, armed with fully functional Knightmares and advanced weapons. Two million people are slaughtered.
  • Killed Offscreen: It's assumed Kyrl Wyman killed Omega by a combination of Obvious Trap and I Lied.
  • Large Ham: Gadvein Allrage has a habit of making his announcements very, very loudly. His robots are just as bad with this.
  • Lighter and Softer: With most of the forum being slightly darker and edgier, the band Gecko Leviathan invokes this trope instead of the norm. Their problems are just as serious and important to them as anyone elses are, however they don't affect the outcome of many peoples lives, or involve killing or mind raping anyone. Most of their issues involve having not finished a song, what to do once Cade is gone, and how they sound, so there should be no angst inducing contemplation filled scenes with them.
  • Quirky Miniboss Squad: Charlie has a number of devoted people, most of them very quirky, but all of them very capable. We have the A.o.H. (weaponized furries), Lak'Shas (weird assassin from Malaysia with a Geass-Curse-Thing), and Krollo Andri (essentially Schrodinger).
  • Retcon: Blazing is doing a RP recap that details past events and inevitably some retcon was going to occur such as
    • The entire Nunnally and C.C. dream/geass sequence which, was admitted to be the most annoying to change so it made any sense.
    • Alistair’s first involvement in battle occurs a little later on rather than Saitama where, he comes of as inept. This man is suppose to be one of the highest ranked generals in Britannia.
    • Revan or Alexander, due to later suspension of belief he gets killed off during the Tohdoh rescue.
    • Almost all of Omega/Allen involvement, originally he manages to build a rebel faction inside Britannia’s own ranks without any hint of being discovered. It’s gets changed to him being discovered and getting the entire faction killed by Kyrl Wyman.
    • Clovisland, now only has two major plot points Maoko joining C.C. and Nonnette being put into a coma. Rai has practically been written out of the whole thing and a lot of the ‘Neo-JLF’ are killed instead of near all surviving.
  • Royally Screwed Up: Britannian Royal Family as usual. Everybody's manipulating someone else. Nero is in a category of her own.
  • Shout-Out: Cade Lpagne in name and appearance to Lightening LDrago from Metal Fight Beyblade. For the formerly mentioned reasons dealing with his name. Appearance wise his hair, eyes, and attire (his headphones are black plus it can be logically assumed he's mostly in his Ashford boys uniform when seen.) mimic LDrago's color scheme.
    • The Hexannic Cannons, the Mori Group, and the Soranian Empire are all shout outs to Sengoku Basara.
    • Mifune is a blatant shout out to Soul Eater.
  • The Sociopath: Mr. Aside entirely lacks emotions, is casually cruel, enjoys ripping people to pieces with his Knightmare, and causes chaos mostly because he's got to do something while waiting for his plans to complete themselves.
  • Strange Minds Think Alike: Done by Lelouch when he said Sean needed to earn his stripes which, is exactly word for word what Cobra said about Sean.
  • Wham Episode: Operation Sekigahara Charlie Havengale manages to make the whole Lesser Clan forces and some of his original now defected forces switch over to Britannia. The exact ramifications have yet to be explored, but given the scale of this divergence, they're possibly huge.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: While Infinity regularly calls Zero on this, its most prominent after an attack on Los Angeles that leaves two million innocent Britannians dead, and the city in complete ruin. After hearing Zero's big speech (which is more or less the same as canon), Infinity accuses him for making it all about the Japanese. He's not entirely wrong.
  • You Taste Delicious: C.C may think Allen is better tasting than Pizza.

Tropes present in "Twisted Colours":

  • The Berserker: Jason and Carosso, the first due to angst issues, the second because he has a massive Big Brother Instinct thing going that is positively unhealthy.
  • Chewing the Scenery: Gadvein, oh so much. He does not so much chew the scenery as he devours it.
  • Evil Is One Big, Happy Family: The Huckebein Family, a nasty paramilitary group supporting Britannia. There are a LOT of disgustingly evil people in the family, but also the much more pitiable Tommy Huckebein, who goes from Ax-Crazy to crying for his mommy, Kyrie Huckebein, who is the aforementioned mommy, and Daville, who is a Hen Pecked Husband...to little Veylice.
  • Manipulative Bitch: Katherine, who acts somewhat crazed by all the warfare and cries about love while piloting...in order to get close enough to put a beam-edge tonfa in the enemy's cockpit.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Jason fights a lot better now, Katherine took a similar level, but added smarts to her profile. Just about every R1 pilot is shaping up to even further levels in R2, including some surprising ones.
  • Yandere: Katherine. This is a woman who was willing to keep the war going strong in order to make sure Chrono is never, ever going to leave her side. And now she might well have a thing for Kyle...
