A twice yearly mini-fest LARP nearing the end of its arc. Insurrection charts the course of the rebellion of the Association against the continent spanning Commonwealth of Elder Races.
Insurrection Larp provides examples of:
- Ancient Artifact: The Crown of the Elements, The Wolf-Sword and the Heptanomicon date back to the time of the dheva.
- Arc Number: Seven, all the seven and also a sideline of three.
- Black-and-Gray Morality: The association has about as many atrocities in it’s wake as the Commonwealth.
- Cast from Hit Points: Many of the powers granted by Faith require the user to injure themselves.
- Conqueror from the Future: In the face of the end of the world the dheva teleported themselves back in time and then promptly took over to set up their civilisation again to the detriment of the natives of that time period.
- Demonic Possession: Cataphractoi are people possessed by Heralds (a type of demon) to make them into highly versatile shock troops.
- Eldritch Location: Pandemonium and Limbo
- Elemental Powers: The Elven High Magic of Majesty gives some degree of command over the elements in a create fireballs and call lightning sort of way.
- Emperor Scientist: Abrafo the Ravager has a nice city filled with his strange machines severed by an army of undead dwarven liches.
- Evil Overlord: Ononskelis the Ruined King is probably the best, but not the only filler of this trope.
- Fantastic Racism: Elves, Dwarves, Orcs, Humans and 'the Mixed'/Halfbreeds.
- Humans Are Special: Somewhat subverted in that humans are viewed as animals by the High Races due to lacking a glans occularis and hence the ability to use magic. This is used to justify keeping them all as slaves.
- Master Race: The Dheva
- Mad Scientist: Dwarven Artificers can produce very powerful magical items of doom, death and destruction. Abrafo also counts.
- Mind Probe: Features as a skill
- Names to Run Away from Really Fast – The Ruined King, Abrafo the Ravager, The Devestation to name a few.
- Our Elves Are Different: Elves were created by the dheva to serve as a leadership caste.
- Our Demons Are Different: Familliars, Heralds, Great Beasts and Dreadlords come from the realm of pandemonium, a place of creation dreams and insanity.
- Our Orcs Are Different: Orcs were created by the dheva to serve as a warrior caste.
- Power Trio: The Sentinel, Steward and Sovereign being the most literal version but on a fundermental level the Orcs, Elves and Dwarves as races fulfill this aswell.
- Right Hand Versus Left Hand – In many cases
- Rule of Seven: There are seven dread lords, seven dheva citites, seven orcish totems, seven pillars of thaumaturgy… this list goes on.
- Sealed Evil in a Can: The cube linked to the Mistress of the Piercing Barb being the first discovered example but then it turned out there were more of them…
- Screw You, Elves!: This is the widely held opinion by everyone who is not an elf.
- Servant Race: The Dwarves, Elves and Orcs (High Races) were created to serve the Dheva as craftspeople, deputy leadership and warriors respectively.
- Slave Race: Humanity was enslaved by the High Races.
- Stable Time Loop: Probably in effect. May be not as stable any longer.
- Standard Evil Empire Hierarchy: The Commonwealth Supreme Council
- The Empire: The Commonwealth of Elder Races. A corrupt and bureaucratic version out to claim sovereignty over the whole continent.
- The Revolution Will Not Be Civilized: The Association has committed it's own fair share of atrocities.
- To Hell and Back: The Association has gone on a round trip to Limbo (The realm of the dead) and Pandemonium (where demons come from).
- We ARE Struggling Together: The Association covers both academics originally protesting tuition fees along side escaped slaves now terrorists.
- Year Outside, Hour Inside: In this case two days in Limbo/Pandemonium, seven and a half years outside.
- Your Terrorists Are Our Freedom Fighters: The Crimson Blades and the Dawning Light both fight for human freedom through various acts of terrorism.
