Songs of the Warriors

Link revisits each of the Divine Beasts to overcome his trial and the traumatic nightmares he has about the Champions' fates.

Tropes:

  • Absurd Phobia: Daruk is afraid...of dogs.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Link uses the Champions' gear in his retread nightmare boss battles, and he had been shown training with a couple of them in prior chapters.
  • Combat Stilettos: Urbosa fights the Yiga Clan while wearing heels in the sand and pregnant no less.
  • Dance Battler: Urbosa's fight with the Yiga Clan has her using moves akin to a dancer, with her twirls and spins.
  • Don't You Dare Pity Me!: Revali is most certainly not happy when he realizes Zelda has seen him struggle to master his powers over wind.
  • Face Your Fears: Link has to face down the creatures that have given him nightmares in order to complete his trial. His nightmares were of the Champions fighting their respective blights, so he fights with the equipment they may have had in their fights. He does still have his gifts from the Champions.
  • Feed It a Bomb: Phantom Fireblight Ganon anticipates that Link will do this when it sucks in heat and air, so it rises high above Link so that his bombs can't reach in time. The second time it tries this, Link rides Revali's Gale into the sky and feeds it a bomb.
  • Hand Blast: Link uses his Daybreaker Bracelets to conjure his most powerful offensive abilities in attacking Phantom Thunderblight Ganon.
  • Honorary Aunt: Implied. Lochlia as a baby was riding Zelda's shoulders in the flashback showing Zelda requesting Mipha that she pilot Ruta.
  • I Never Told You My Name: Once again, Kass calls Link by name without having ever been formally introduced to him, only this time out of earshot of Link.
  • Flechette Storm: Link can use his powers through the Wolf to create a storm of magically constructed imitations of the Master Sword.
  • Made of Iron: The blights are much more durable, and Link's weaponry is not as strong as it was in his real fights with them.
  • Not His Sled: Link does not go through the Champions' trials himself, though he learns of them. Instead, he just goes after the Divine Beasts, taking Kass with him, and fights the Phantom Blights.
  • Megaton Punch: Link uses the power of the Wolf Spirit to punch Phantom Windblight Ganon's eye with incredible force to kill it.
  • Offhand Backhand: Urbosa uses her powers on a Yiga Clan that tries to ambush her from behind, and she doesn't even turn around to do so.
  • Pregnant Badass: A prior flashback showed that Urbosa had a baby. This time, we see Urbosa herself while she's pregnant with said baby, and it doesn't slow her down one bit.
  • Smug Snake: After flawlessly pulling off his power and striking the targets in the Flight Range, he openly calls himself the most important part of the fight against Ganon.
  • Spell Blade: Averted. Because Link no longer has the Master Sword in the realm of thoughts and memories, Link cannot channel his powers through his blades anymore.
  • The Unreveal: Paya has a vision, but the reader is never shown it and she doesn't reveal what she saw.
