Lanayru East Gate & Hyrule Field

Link races to find the last two locations in his memories, the memories of the Great Calamity itself.

Tropes:

  • All for Nothing: Everything that Zelda, Link, and the Champions worked to do has been for nothing, as Calamity Ganon awakened before Zelda sealing power did, and he has taken control of the Guardians and Divine Beasts, killing everyone in the castle and the Champions.
  • Apocalypse How: The Guardians enact a Class 0 localized apocalypse around primarily Hyrule Castle.
  • Bratty Teenage Daughter: Zelda accuses herself of acting like this in her argument with her father. Link reassures her that this is very much not the case, as her arguments were entirely justified.
  • Call-Back: Link calls back to Zelda's own words from the Sanidin Park in how the next moment could change everything.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Mipha tries to tell Zelda something about what she does when she's "healing" and what goes through her mind, but she doesn't get the chance to say it before Calamity Ganon awakens.
  • Cluster F-Bomb: Zelda drops a series of uncharacteristic f-bombs as she laments her failure to awaken her sealing power, and pretty much gives up on even trying to keep going.
  • Darkest Hour: The Great Calamity has begun, Ganon has taken the Guardians and Divine Beasts for his own, Hyrule Castle and the town are being annihilated, the people are dying left and right, and Link and Zelda are left alone with nothing and no one but each other.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Zelda rapidly crosses this in the "Despair" flashback, breaking down and wailing in Link's arms as the full weight of what's happened gets to her. Plus, there's the fact that both of them knew how unlikely it was that either of them would survive to tomorrow.
  • Gorn: There are extensive descriptions of innocent civilians being blown to pieces, blood, and limbs by the corrupted Guardians.
  • It's All My Fault: Zelda says this word for word, blaming her failure in awakening her sealing power for the Great Calamity doing what it's done, and how they've basically lost the war against Ganon.
  • Kick the Dog: Zelda reveals that a lot of what she said was false as a way to hurt King Rhoam. For example, he did in fact love her and did give her gifts throughout the years for no other reason other than to just make her happy.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Zelda expresses remorse to Link about her argument with her father and the things that she had said.
  • Oh, Crap!: In the "Return of Calamity Ganon" memory, its return is marked with an earthquake that makes the ground ripple like water. And then Revali flies up and witnesses the monstrous abomination manifesting around Hyrule Castle, freaking out every single Champion.
  • Pet the Dog: Whereas before Revali was smug and brash in addressing Link (and he still is hostile to him), he's much gentler and kinder to the princess.
  • Shout-Out: Zelda claims that she will defend Hyrule in any way she can, which is one of her Special Attack quotes in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
  • A Storm Is Coming: Calamity Ganon's return is marked by an unnatural magenta lightning storm that quickly spreads out across Hyrule, reaching where the Champions are in less than a minute.
  • Team Mom: Urbosa embraces this role here, encouraging Zelda to not give up and saying that all they can do is move on and keep searching for whatever needed to be found to spark Zelda's sealing power.
