They don't fall very far from the tree...note

Let's be real, after what happened in the last game, it'd be pretty foolish to assume this game wouldn't be nearly as funny.

It's Like a Dragon, after all.

    open/close all folders

    Trailers/Pre-Release
  • The initial teaser has Ichiban somehow waking up in Hawaii stark naked. The scenery does a good job of covering his family jewels until he finally realizes what's happened. As a bonus, in the Xbox showcase that the trailer debuted in, this trailer came right after the Hellblade II gameplay trailer. Viewers went from watching a dark, brooding video of Senua being lured into a pool of water and falling into the depths... with a very intentional smash-cut straight into Ichiban waking up naked on a beach.
  • The Story Trailer opens with Ichiban recapping the events of the previous game in the manner of a kabuki play, complete with accompanying music. That in itself is one thing, but the sight of Kazuma Kiryu himself acting as the boom operator is just hilarious.
  • In the Gameplay Trailer, Joon-gi Han is used as an example for the Desperado class, dressed up as a cowboy and lassoing an opoonent. Seeing him doing the Desperado Essence attack of riding a bull while going, "Yee-hah!" is quite the contrast.

    Main Game
  • After Ichiban cools Sasaki off after initially denying him an opportunity at Hello Work, it seems like he's about to finish him off as he runs towards him... only to instead casually dive head-first into the river to get his money back. Also doubles as Heartwarming given the nobility of the act, and the fact that he gives Sasaki that new start the next day. Ichiban may have had to swim in sewage and lose a suit over it (and got a... souvenir in the form of a used condom for it), but it's the thought that counts.
  • Ichiban's celebration over Saeko's agreement to a date is as hilarious as it is adorable, especially when he drags in two homeless guys to celebrate with him while bystanders watch.
  • Ichiban, Adachi and Nanba's raid on the Seriyu Clan HQ is treated with considerable dramatic build-up as they bust the doors to the inner chambers open to confront Takabe... only to be visibly shushed by Ebina, who's more concerned with an important video call than a group of men who just fought through his establishment to reach him.
  • Right after Ichiban lands in Hawaii, he has the misfortune of crossing paths with Tomizawa, who attempts to mug him for his belongings. However, Ichiban holds him back as well as you'd expect. But if you're playing on the Japanese audio track, what follows is some of the funniest (intentionally or otherwise) Engrish seen in the series since Yakuza 3. As Tomizawa tries to pull a Frame-Up on Ichiban, he addresses the police officers in heavily-accented (but still understandable) English. ...It's kinda hard not to laugh when he pulls this particular line out as he's lying to the cops:
Tomizawa: Yeah! Arrest that scumbag! I'm pissing myself over here!
    • Eiji coming in with his own Gratuitous English right after also seals the deal:
Eiji: Hold on officer! (...) That man is no thief!
    • What's even funnier in the English dub is that Tomizawa's accent remains mostly intact, while Eiji's English is completely unaccented.
  • After saving Tomizawa from being shot by Roman, Ichiban is less concerned about almost Taking the Bullet than he is about the bullet possibly ruining his hair. He runs over to Kiryu for a second opinion, who doesn't see anything wrong, but then snarks that Ichiban's hair "looks like it's seen more bullets than one". Ichiban immediately gets defensive, and then it cuts to Tomizawa wondering what the hell is wrong with those two.
  • When Kiryu brings Kasuga to the Revolve Bar, Kasuga becomes acquainted with one of the bar's employees, Kei — portrayed by Kson On Air, who immediately starts gushing over how cool and handsome Kiryu is for about a minute.
    • Kei's behavior is so crazy that even the nameplate gets in on the action: She's initially introduced as "Smiling Woman", then soon as she starts obsessing over Kiryu, her title changes to "Utterly Serious Woman", then changes to "Panting Woman" after she finishes her tangent. It's only afterwards that she finally gets properly introduced by name as Kei.
  • When Kiryu, Tomizawa, and Chitose infiltrate the Nirvana Hotel with Ichiban watching through Kiryu's glasses, Kiryu at one point stares at a girl's boobs just to give Ichiban "a change of scenery".
  • While looking for the key to the top floor of Yamai's hideout, it's possible to enter a room where a few Yamai Syndicate members are throwing a birthday party. They're more annoyed that Ichiban didn't knock than they are that they're about to get beaten down. For a funny bit of Video Game Cruelty Potential, you can then also loot a bottle of sake in this room, which they presumably would have also had as part of the party.
  • Seonhee suavely hanging out with Kiryu...then promptly freaking out when he's out of earshot. She's a big fangirl, apparently.
  • Even the Dragon of Dojima isn't immune to Ichiban's antics, as when he returns to Japan, Kiryu begins to see enemies transform and use insane skills like he does!
  • Kiryu basically pouting over Nanba, Saeko and Seonhee not paying attention to him singing. He gets a little revenge by hogging the mic for the next song.
  • The Yokohama crew going crazy over Kiryu's rendition of "Judgement".
  • After beating Sawashiro (basically giving the guy a much-needed Curb-Stomp Battle, where Ichiban and the other Heroes struggled with him back in LAD), Kiryu decides to toss the guy into the bay, surprising everyone present... even if it was Sawashiro's idea.
  • Ichiban's group, while trying to find a way to enter Yamai's hideout, get boxed in by two construction cranes. Adachi grumbles, "I can't believe we have to fight these things again." Chitose snaps, "What do you mean, again?!"
    • Right after, Tomizawa decides to commandeer one of them and plow straight into Yamai's hideout, with everyone present reacting accordingly.
Chitose: You idiot, we're gonna DIIIIIE!!!
    • As if his earlier betrayal of Yamai wasn't enough, Tomi decides to add insult to injury by wrecking his former boss's hideout (and Yamai himself still didn't care!)
    • With the Party briefly split up - Ichiban and Chitose landing upstairs, while Adachi and Tomi are on the stage - the latter two briefly get into a spat about Tomizawa's driving. Needless to say, Adachi makes his displeasure at Tomi's driving known by telling him that if he still had his badge, he'd take his license, which Tomi shrugs off.
  • While the entire scene is played for drama, there’s something funny about Kiryu goading Daigo, Majima, and Saejima into action. The latter three are visibly irate at the verbal attack to their pride.
  • An optional conversation between Ichiban and Yamai in Chapter 13 has this gem:
Ichiban: You're... kinda fixated on Kiryu-san, yeah?
Yamai: Human nature to covet something that others have and you don't.
Ichiban: Don't tell me you're obsessed with his pecs or something...
Yamai: Not what I fucking meant.
  • Dwight getting taken out by the shark he tried feeding one of his own guys to earlier is not just very satisfying but also hilarious due to how sudden and undignified it is. No scream, no dramatic music, just one CHOMP out of nowhere...no more Dwight Mendez. Cue stunned silence from the party and Yamai explaining about the sharks being attracted to Dwight's bling...as the capsized boat off in the distance bursts into flame with a sad little *pop* sound. That's right, the over-the-top scenery-chewing villain doesn't even get a proper explosion.
  • The end of the game has Ichiban try another Love Confession to Saeko and it works...but then he botches it again by revealing a T-Shirt that reads "I Love Saeko" on the front and "I Love Ichiban" on the back. Saeko walks away in embarrassment while everyone in the Survive Bar just groans in dismay.
    • And of course your reward for beating the game is that T-shirt.

    Gameplay
  • Just the fact that Improvised Weapons are available to everyone else as opposed to Ichiban's Freelancer class can lead to the hilarious sight of Chitose/Saeko/Seonhee grabbing an object as large as they are tall and wailing on mooks with it.
  • Knockback attacks, if they aren't already satisfying, are definitely hilarious depending on where you knock enemies into. Especially if a fight breaks out in the middle of the street and an unlucky mook ends up eating a bumper for their troubles.
  • From the special demo that comes with Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, we have a unique enemy encounter in the "Coco Nutjob" (pictured above). Typically, when enemies are encountered, they are introduced as "Thugs", "Yakuza", or the like. The Coco Nutjob, on the otherhand, is given a somewhat ruder designation: "Asshole". Some other enemies are also given that designation, possibly only if they're alone.
  • Adachi's "Arrest" skill, while having been a part of his base skillset since Like a Dragon, has been buffed to where you can effectively cheese some fights with it simply by slapping some handcuffs on the unlucky sap that you use it against. This can even include Palekana Warriors!
  • The gameplay of Dondoko Island is very unlike the normal gameplay of Infinite Wealth as Ichiban actually fights in real-time instead of the turn-based fare that he's used to back in Hawaii. ...Except that said real-time gameplay just boils down to Ichiban swinging around his bat until the mooks in the vicinity all drop. You can almost hear the cartoonish "bonk" sound effects as he's literally swinging his bat left and right at the unlucky Washbucklers that dare to set foot on his island.
  • The "Essence of" skills make a return, and are as ridiculous as from the previous game, if not, more:
    • Essence of Buckle Up honestly needs no introduction: Tomizawa takes the enemy out for a reckless drive before ditching the car and leaving the poor sap to his fate as the car blows up behind him. Like a Dragon, everyone.
    • Essence of High Noon has the Desperado and the enemy taking steps away from each other to do a western draw... only for the Desperado to pull a giant railgun out of nowhere and vaporize the enemy with it.
    • Essence of Cleansing Chasm has the Housekeeper trap the enemies in a pile of refuse and assault them with an army of roombas that boop them into submission.
    • Essence of Improvisation has the Action Star take Chairman of the Brawl to an extreme by clobbering mooks with an assortment of seating, ending with said seating stacked up very precariously. Cue the Action Star running up the tower and squashing the mooks by reclining on a sofa.
    • Essence of Showboating has the Linebacker summon a squad of cheerleaders to dance around with while said cheerleaders kick the enemies into submission. It ends in some Celebratory Body Tossing that drops one unfortunate mook square on his head.
    • Essence of Cut and Run has Adachi trying to defuse a bomb with two unlucky mooks tied behind each other. Considering this is an Essence move, and Adachi is about as effective at bomb disposal as he is at anything that isn't being a detective, take three guesses how that turns out.
  • The descriptions for the moves of the Aquanaut class are jammed full of corny Surfer Dude lingo like "hodad" and "hang ten" in stark contrast to the relatively formal descriptions of every other class.
  • Revelations make their return after having last been seen back in Yakuza 0, albeit a tad different. Nevertheless, like the ones back from 3 through 5, there's plenty of chuckles to be had.
    • The Kunoichi Revelation has everyone do some yoga on the beach, with Chitose really getting into it by showing off how flexible she can be. So much so she outdoes the yoga instructor! The cherry on top, however, goes to poor Ichiban and Kiryu/Adachi, who are outright struggling to keep up with the exercise, Kiryu flat-out saying he's getting too old for this (yoga).
    • The Desperado Revelation comes from everyone squirting each other with water guns.
    • The Housekeeper Revelation comes from a duty-free shopping trip where Chitose sees a janitor really going at it to clean up the floor complete with backflips.
    • The Samurai Revelation is on a trolley ride, Ichiban sees two boys clashing with rolled up magazines. But what really seals the deal is how he sees a sleeping passenger — who is conveniently bald — being juxtapositioned with an advertisement that has a palm tree conveniently positioned to look like a top knot for a chonmage.
    • Action Star Revelation starts with Ichiban going parasailing before he falls out of the sky by a passing parrot towards a palm tree, to which he does a swinging save and a Three-Point Landing. Suddenly three coconuts are about to drop, but he does some quick martial arts moves to deflect them.
    • Tennis Player has Chitose getting a massage while a woman fans her and Ichiban and Tomizawa plays volleyball. When the ball rolls by, the woman gets annoyed and smacks it back, using the fan as a tennis racket. Then when the ball ends up getting sent towards her again, the woman, having gotten fed up by this point, smacks the ball with the fan with way more force than before, sending it flying back to Ichiban and Tomizawa.
  • The new jobs are as ridiculous as ever.
    • The Action Star Job, complete with Funny Bruce Lee Noises and yellow jumpsuits.
    • The Housekeeper Job, which involves a female character scrubbing your enemies into submission.
    • The Fire Dancer Job, in which your male characters can do funny dances in a tribal outfit to rally their allies.
  • Aside from his default Dragon of Dojima job, Kiryu can also switch to other jobs like any other male characters and use their skills. This leads to hilarious moments where Kiryu can do some of the funniest, most over-the-top moves in the game that make him come off as completely out of character.
Kiryu: (jumping onto a surfboard) COWABUNGA!
  • Of course, the Poundmates:
    • Yuki's & Koyuki's Poundmate summon, Four Shine Fever. It involves them seating the enemy down excitedly before smacking him with beer glasses, a massive ashtray, and a gigantic bucket of ice (all ordered with the hand signals from the Cabaret Club minigames.) They then announce "Fever Time!!" before sending him flying with champagne bottles to the spine.
      • Even better, using this summon... on Majima. Good thing Ludonarrative Dissonance is at play, or else that reunion would be really awkward...
    • The Sojimaru Flying Beta Max Poundmate summon, Doomsday Drop, involves Professor Okita riding on top of a floating Sojimaru about to fire a massive laser at the opponents... until the battery dies at the last second. Three guesses what happens next.
Okita: Remind me why I needed you to fly...
    • Kazuki and Yuya's summon, Alluring Toast. It's absolutely dripping with Ho Yay, as they seat themselves next to the enemy and talk to him charmingly, before shoving a bottle of champagne in his mouth and both whispering seductively into his ears. The enemy even shyly smiles at Kazuki! And when the boys round things off by sending the enemy flying with a champagne bottle and a bouquet, he's smiling deliriously!
    • Date's summon, Do or Dive. It starts off awesome with Date riding in a helicopter and brandishing a shotgun. Too bad Date's horrid aim keeps him from hitting anything (that or him trying to snipe with a shotgun)... except the chopper's propeller when he points his jammed gun upwards. Cue the helicopter going into an explosive nosedive right onto the unlucky saps he was trying to shoot. The screen fades to white, only to then show Date and the pilot parachuting safely out of the sky. Date then says that this was somehow "all according to plan".
  • Even some of the attacks the story bosses hit you with can be amusing. Look no further than Yamai's Keelhauler, where he uses his crowbar to drag the unlucky victim (this can include Chitose, by the way) by the ankle and toss them across the arena!
  • Both Hawaii and Yokohama have a surprise enemy encounter at specific locations that involves a convertible quickly speeding to your location, stopping in the middle of the street in front of you and the passengers engaging you in battle: in Hawaii, this encounter is a mostly unremarkable group of gang members, but in Yokohama, the car in question is an itasha filled with high-leveled idol fanboys that will likely kick your ass when you encounter it for the first time.

    Side Content
  • Pretty much everything involving the Sujimon. If the designs weren't creative and varied enough as is, then the fact that you can battle against other Sujimon trainers is this given the minigame itself is surprisingly engaging for what is essentially one big Shout-Out to Pokémon. And on top of that, after turning Dondoko Island into a two-star resort and unlocking Dondoko Farm, Ichiban has the bright idea to put said Sujimon to work. The inherent absurdity makes it hard not to laugh at the poor schmucks you assign to your farm or at the Recycling Center.
  • The Imagine Spot for JUDGMENT ~Shinpan~ features a surprising returning character taking Kashiwagi's place on the keyboards: Andre Richardson, the secondary antagonist from Yakuza 3 (pretending to be a Suspiciously Similar Substitute), looking hilariously out of place.
  • The Dondoko Island trailer shows Ichiban with a guitar singing a merry campfire song for his guests. That song? Hell Stew. The same song with lyrics all about demons eating people that evokes imagery of a demonic ritual when sung in karaoke. And Ichiban is having fun singing it around a big campfire with a cheerful tone and a huge grin on his face.
  • While Seonhee's iteration of "Like a Butterfly" is as delightful as every iteration of the song since 6, if you pay attention to the song's lyrics and then look at Seonhee's Animal Motif, it suddenly becomes chuckle-worthy. Especially if you also remember spiders are natural predators to butterflies.
  • "Summertime Groove" is probably one of the funniest karaoke songs since Majima's rendition of "Get to the TOP!". The Lyrical Dissonance is strong with this one, since the song basically sums up All Love Is Unrequited in the most gut-bustingly cheery way imaginable. Really, the song sounds like something Bowling for Soup would make, given its interjections.
    • The interjection between the opening and the first verse (in the English dub) deserves a special mention:
So, uh, you know that girl you like's got a boyfriend? I hear he's captain of the soccer team and hot and smart and athletic? He's like the whole package of perfect ten out of ten! But you're not in the same league, dude!
    • The Imagine Spot has Ichiban and Adachi performing the song together on stage with everyone waving towels in the air. Said towels have the Ichiban Holdings logo on them! Even funnier is that Chitose and Tomizawa are right near the stage having a good time, too!
  • In isolation, "If I Could Love the One I Love" is not funny at all. But listen to Kiryu and Ichiban's interjections, and it's another story. They spends most of the song talking about their broken dishwasher and how their landlord won't lift a finger to help, culminating in them getting a new one at the end of the song, but thinking they got the wrong kind and needing to talk to the guy at the store again. The sheer dissonance of Zhao/Joongi singing about lost love and Kiryu/Ichiban essentially going on a Rambling Old Man Monologue over it is absolutely gut-busting.
  • Despite the depressing lyrics, Ichiban's interjections for "Honolulu City Lights" are Mood Whiplash incarnate. He sounds ready to blow a fuse in most of them, getting unusually excited over Chitose's singing.
Song: No you couldn't even spare me a glance...
    Ichiban: THAT FOOOOL!
Song: It pains me to say that I love you...
Ichiban: HOW DARE HE, THAT JERK!
Song: ...oh, how I tire of this dance, you and me...
    Ichiban: CHI-CHAN, WE LOVE YOOOOUUU!!
  • Joongi's Drink Link becomes a comedy of errors once Yeona, the woman Joongi left control of the Geomijul-Liumang network to, suddenly arrives in Hawaii without his permission. After "saving" her from a bunch of playboys, it turns out that her personality is closer to a Smitten Teenage Girl in regards to Joongi than anything else...and then the Hitman inadvertently reveals that his own trip to Hawaii was done without telling Seonhee as he rants about how both she and Zhao also just up and left with Kiryu without telling him. Then the guy Yeona also left control to rings her up to say he also arrived in Hawaii...
  • One of the substories in the demo has Ichiban working as a waiter at a restaurant to cover for someone who seemed to stand the chef up after an online interview. The chef, Obi, believes Ichiban to be a dead ringer for the waiter. But at the end, the waiter who Ichiban was covering for turns out to be Real After All... and he's not only darker-skinned than Ichiban, but his afro's larger and rounder! Ichiban walks away bitterly remarking that they look nothing alike.
  • Crazy Delivery Driver is one gigantic pastiche of food delivery apps and Crazy Taxi, complete with the announcer's extremely thick Engrish adding to the comedy of it all. Some Crazy Jumps has Ichiban bike over an entire building, only to lose his bike and swim mid-air to catch up or eat dirt.
  • Live Chat from Yakuza 6 makes a return in the form of "Miss Match: Dating by Divination", a dating app for Ichiban. Some of the matches are rather out there and he could get catfished by them to hilarious consequences.
    • One of the potential matches is named Etsu, which Ichiban comes to find out the person on the other side of the screen is the Obatarian!
    • Another potential match is a literal chicken. Ichiban is understandably very confused as to how a chicken managed to type up anything.
    • And then one of the other potential matches is Alo-Happy. Ichiban is understandably exasperated that he uses the app too.
    • Who else but our favorite basement-dweller ball gagged leatherman "Hangman" would also appear as a potential match?
  • Sojimaru is back and glitching out even more, this time in Hawaii. At first all seems normal, until the robot comes to the conclusion that bad people also qualify as "trash". It starts sucking up said people, and demonstrating its new power washing and incinerating capabilities, forcing Ichiban to let out an exacerbated "how does this thing malfunction twice?!" Poor Ichiban sounds downright traumatised at having to deal with this thing again. And then, mid-battle, it Turns Red.
Ichiban: This thing seems actively pissed off!
Doc: You must have activated Crisis Mode!
Ichiban: Why does a vacuum need a crisis mode?! Actually, no, forget I even asked...
    • And then at the end of the battle, Sojimaru reveals another new function: "Delicious pancakes for you!"
    • And yes, just like last time, Sojimaru still plays that jaunty little jingle for the entire fight!
  • During Nancy's sidequest, Ichiban comes across some punks harassing her new hermit crab friend. Guessing he can't get over there due to the sand, he instead opts to throw Nancy like a football at the bullies in the hopes the crawfish will scare them off. Put too much power into the throw, and poor Nancy will go hurtling overhead while the punks ask if a flying lobster just went by.
  • In the first episode of the radio show "SegWaves", Hula Mike describes an incident when a young guy walked up to him and asked him where to find sailors, proceeding to ask the same question to everyone else on the street. The same thing happened the next day with the guy asking everyone where the harbor is, and by the time he got around to interrogating every random person around about where to find a warehouse, Hula Mike was getting pretty freaked out about the whole thing.
    • Host DJ Pipi Stew mentions that when he visited Kamurocho, he tried to eat at NY Hot Dognote , but couldn't find the entrance anywhere. He suspects that it's a secret only the locals know.
    • In the last episode, the hosts discuss Hawaiian words and phrases. The last phrase is bleeped out, with Pipi describing it as "That's when you s-*bleep* somebody's m-*bleep* and then they *bleep* something else afterwards."
  • Ono Michio returns, having since become a worldwide phenomenon, well-known to all of Honolulu...kinda. Hawaii knows him better as Robo Michio, turning the mascot into a full on robot. Not only that, but the guardian of the Hawaii underground dungeon is a fully functioning Robo Michio, who asks Ichiban and the gang to help him out. He also compares his shoddy battery life to that of a Game Gear.
  • When the party is introduced to the Yokohama Underground, Seonhee's subordinate Utamaru stoically greets them by saying he's been waiting for their arrival, causing Seonhee to kick him to the floor and retort that she was the one who stationed Utamaru there in the first place. Utamaru's behaviour does a 180 and shamelessly tells his boss that he cannot handle the situation and rescue the Geomijul agents trapped underground, which earns him another comical beating from Seonhee while the rest of the party awkwardly stares on. As Kiryu and co. discuss the dungeon, Seonhee can still be seen stomping on Utamaru in the background.
  • In "Close Encounter of the Bird Kind," one of the nuttiest substories in the game, Ichiban helps out a woman named Karen who insists that a UFO stole her chicken. The fact that she reflexively took a selfie when taking a picture for proof is funny enough, but during the stakeout, it turns out she wasn't just going crazy! Except the UFO in question... is none other than Sojimaru. Who can fly now. And yes, she goes berserk and has to be beaten down. Again. By this point, Ichiban is just resigned to his fate.
    • And why does Sojimaru start sucking up people again? Because Professor Okita drank himself depressed and said that the whole world was garbage. Suddenly, Sojimaru's batshit insane feature list makes a lot more sense...
    • Sojimaru's jaunty battle jingle gets an epic orchestral remix for this round.
    • Before the fight itself begins, Ichiban has to choose one of three weapons provided by Karen. The weapons are a pile of rocks, a baseball bat, and a rocket launcher.
    • Despite Sojimaru's more threatening appearance and new orchestral battle theme, this fight is actually much easier than the previous one. As long as you keep hurling Fire-based attacks on it, you'll down the machine in no time. Awesome, but Impractical?
  • The Japanese radio show After6Junction2 has an episode where callers submit their karaoke song interjections for critique, which includes Saejima's incredibly intense interjections for "Rouge of Love", as well as the Passionate All Stars version of "So Much More" from Yakuza 5's preorder CD, where Kiryu, Saejima, Akiyama and Shinada go absolutely bonkers over Haruka's singing.
    • An earlier episode has the host pretending to receive callers from various characters from the series' legacy, including Majima, Katsuragi, Kuze, Awano and Takechi Hanpeita, which are really just the host putting on a thoroughly unconvincing impression of said characters.
    • The 2nd episode references Kiryu's Revalations blog by name as well as lampshades the bizarre presence of safes and plates randomly found in streets across Japan, and even speculates on the practical applications of using a Silver Plate as an actual plate.
  • In the years since Kiwami 2, Koyuki's taken over as Four Shine's owner and has branched out into Kamurocho. The place looks really nice inside... except for the fact that Koyuki also brought over the golden Kiryu statue he and Majima bought at the end of that game's quest line. It might seem like a funny background addition, but after reuniting her with Yuki, Kiryu actually sees it and passes comment on it. It seems to be something of an Old Shame for him.
Kiryu: (Isn't that the golden statue I gifted them? Didn't think they'd keep it around... Man, what was I thinking?)
    • Of note, you can have that statue, Majima's from 0, and even a statue of Ichiban that's as gaudy and tacky as the latter two as decorative items on Dondoko Island. And if that wasn't enough, Kiryu and Majima both can be guests at Dondoko Island as well.
  • The eyecatch for the stuntman minigames doesn't just explain the controls, but also features a disclaimer.
(Please note, this being a non-contract gig, you do not qualify for the stunt worker union's health insurance.)
  • Most of Kiryu's Reflections are him taking a somber look back at the events of the series and all the things he's done in his life. Except for one that has him standing on a bridge... reflecting about how many times he's thrown people off bridges.
Kiryu: (… Maybe I ought to try making better memories while I’m still alive.)
    • For extra humor, the bridge in question has frequent enemies crossing it, which means that after he's done with the Reflection there's a strong chance that he'll immediately end up throwing someone off the bridge.
  • "Home To Roost" features a golden parrot taking a liking to Ichiban's head after his nest was destroyed by hunters. Eventually, Ichiban makes a new home for the little guy, only for the bird's mother to start nesting on his head. He should really change his hairstyle now...
  • "Relics From the Past" features Ichiban stumbling upon some old construction equipment that won't work anymore due to their batteries being missing. Then he runs into Ringmaster Yasuda from last game... and he's now working with electric eels. You can probably tell where this is going...
  • The announcer for major Sujimon battles. Think of a Pokémon anime battle announcer, but far more crass and dismissive of the resident Mons.
(Battle start) Alright! Who's ready to see some jacked-up weirdos beat the Suji snot out of each other?!
(Sujimon gets knocked out) Suji goes to sleep! Or goes to Hell. One or the other!
(Ichiban's party wins) Amazing! Kasuga's team never fail to impress! His secret? Heavy petting! Yeah, chew on that one, folks. Sweet dreams!
  • Joongi Han's Pile of unreturned DVDs. A Walk and Talk conversation for Joongi reveals he forgot to return a pile of Rented DVDs before going to Hawaii. A Walk and Talk conversation for Seonhee reveals she has noticed and she's going to check the date of return. The hilarious part? We get a resolution for this in a Premium Adventure Idle Chat the two can have while sitting together in Revolve or Survive, in which Seonhee tells Joongi she did return the DVDs for him but he will have to rent them again because he didn't finish watching the show. This is not only a reward for paying attention but also quite hilarious this situation most probably will happen again. Plus, it is revealed in the last interlude of The Big Swell that Seonhee actually covered the late fees, and plans to deduct them from Joongi's pay.
  • One of the hooligans who gets arrested at the end of Asakura's substories talks about how their arrest will make for a good video, and one of his friends having to remind him that you can't stream from prison.
  • During Kiryu's Life Link with Matsunaga and Tagashira, Date slips and calls Kiryu by name, which he quickly covers with 'Kiryuin.' Later he tries to laugh off the 'coincidence,' and in response Kiryu shoots him an absolutely withering, unamused glare.

    Party Chat Dialogues
  • Bane of the Queen - The Heroes are going for a walk around Chinatown when - egads! - a cockroach shows up, surprising Seonhee. Sure enough, Joongi Han wasn't kidding about her dislike for cockroaches, with Nanba lampshading that if the roach were any bigger, she'd pull out a rocket launcher instead. In case her pulling out a knife wasn't enough.
  • Kiryu-santa - While Kiryu's party discusses how Saeko's club does Halloween and Christmas parties, Kiryu mentions that he would dress up as Santa for the younger kids at Sunflower. Saeko is dismayed to learn he doesn't have any pictures of him doing this, and Seonhee (who had been quiet the whole time) immediately calls a Geomijul agent to find those pictures.
  • The Sneeze - Ichiban mentions that video calls still get him nervous, even with friends, leading to Adachi bringing up one of his own video calls where he thought he had his mic on, only to be muted the whole time. Then, when he thought he muted himself, he actually ended up sneezing at full volume, being oblivious to it the entire time!
  • Soft Serve, Hard Fall - Nanba recalls a time where his boss sent him out for some soft serve. Being in a hurry, however, he ended up dropping the cone and, rather than getting another one, decided to put the ice cream back on the cone, all covered in dirt and crap, to Kiryu's chagrin. Cue Seonhee and Zhao craving some soft-serve, while the latter asks Nanba to get some, along with Saeko incredulously asking if Zhao even HEARD what was being said.

    The Big Swell DLC
  • When the party goes to the beach, they all begin to enjoy themselves in their own way.
    • Ichiban and Saeko have a splash fight in the ocean when Zhao ambushes Ichiban with a water gun. If you look in the background after the camera cuts to Seonhee and Joongi, you can see Zhao's water gun fire a water ball strong enough to knock Ichiban on his back.
    • Speaking of Seonhee and Joongi, she's relaxing in a beach chair while he begrudgingly fans her like she's royalty.
    • Tomizawa and Chitose are trying to verbally guide a blindfolded Adachi to a watermelon so he can smash it with a stick. The former two aren't entirely sure how to direct him and Adachi is spinning in circles trying to decipher their directions.
    • Seeing Kiryu and Nanba buried neck deep in the sand would be funny enough on it own, but Nanba almost gets whacked by Adachi when he tries to smash that watermelon.
      • When the party leaves the beach, they forget to dig up Kiryu and Nanba and leave them behind in the sand. Kiryu laughs it off but Nanba calls them to no avail and wonders how they’re supposed to get out.
  • The interlude cutscenes features Ichiban and co. celebrating after defeating a powerful boss of each sector. However as expected for the party, shenanigans ensue:
    • Post-1st Sector: Joongi Han invites the party to a steak house. The party are split into different groups conversing with each other while completely ignoring Joongi's infodump about the benefits of meat.
      • Tomizawa, Zhao and Nanba are discussing about glasses as only those three wears them in the party. When Nanba says he found his on the roadside somewhere, the former two immediately glares at him in disbelief.
      • Chitose decides to let Joongi order whatever he recommends as it's her first time eating there, only for a Cobb salad to show up at the girls' table.
Chitose: I'm about to cut off a slab of him.
      • A drunk Adachi keeps on rambling about an incident he had during his time as a detective. Kiryu can only sympathize with Ichiban who have been told the same story multiple times.
      • Upset that everyone is not paying attention to him, Joongi demands them to go outside with him to do some body training. Cut to the men of the party doing squats in front of the restaurant until a cop riding on a Street Surfer mistakes them for sickos and chases after them. Meanwhile the girls decide to pay no mind and eat the guys' share of uneaten steak.
    • Post-2nd Sector: The party went shopping for ingredients as the girls plan to cook for the party in Revolve. However Saeko forgot to buy fish. Upon hearing this, Ichiban suggests the guys go catch some. However, this turns out to be a bad idea as they have no luck getting a bite at all. Then suddenly, Kiryu catches something... and it's a plastic-wrapped adult magazine. Adachi decides to take a break and begin to read it, with the rest of the guys follows suit. Like a bunch of teenage boys, the men excitedly look through the magazine, even asking one another which of the featured models is their favorite (with Joongi apparently chooses the one that resembles Seonhee). They end up forgetting their main objective and by the time they realize it, the sun is already down. Ichiban decides to quickly fix the problem by ordering some fish from Crazy Eats. The men proudly present their "catch" to the women at Revolve Bar, which turn out to be frozen tuna. The scene cut to the exterior of Revolve with Seonhee chewing the guys out, followed by the interior shot where all the men sit 'seiza' style in repentence in front of Seonhee.
  • The second sector's boss is another massive shark. Upon seeing it, Kiryu admits that he’s always imagined a shark singing Bakamitai.
Kiryu: “Same da ne… Same yo…” Hmhm… “Memories of food… twisting in my jaws. I’m such a shark.” Heh, what do you think?
Saeko: What… What do we think? How the hell are you talking about karaoke right now?
    • Kiryu also brings up Bakamitai after the shark is defeated, saying that he’s got the song stuck in his head now, much to the party's chagrin.
