Chapter 1
First Mission
- In their first mission (well, first mission on-screen), Kirby Adventure Squad were hired to make Dedede treat his Waddle Dees more nicely. Vezo then asks Kirby why do they all need to go beat up Dedede. Kirby replies with that it's more fun with more people.
- Caiya's Establishing Character Moment. Keito tries to get her to move out, but she decided to sleep instead. Keito offer her a donut. Caiya promptly devours a donut while partially munching on Keito's hand.
- Shat'l never comes out of the base. When asked why by Keito, he responds he's a vital asset of base's functioning. Cue the Beat and…Keito: You're just afraid, aren't you?Shat'l: YEEEEEEESS.
- Saia and Raize decided to get to Mt. Dedede on a Warp Star. Unfortunately, Raize learns hard way what kind of driver Saia is. Cue lots of screaming and Saia trying to reassure him they'll arrive just in time.
- When Vezo decided to go through Pumpkin Gland, he notices Kaxo doing what he's doing the best: being Sociopathic Hero and beating up innocents. Just when he was about to beat Waddle Doo into dirt, he gets caught by Saia.
- Eventually, as it turns out, Saia crashed in Onion Garden. Raize sneaked from behind, jumpscaring her from behind with casual "Hi Saia". She ends up falling into the pit.Saia: SO NOT FUNNY!!Raize: Consider it my revenge for crushing us into a wall.
- Just when Kirby and Shadik finally got to their Waddle Dee clients, they say they thought there were more of them. Kirby reassures they'll eventually arrive. Cue Raize and Saia crash-landing through a wall…Saia: YOU'RE AN AWFUL DRIVER!!Raize: Well, you're not exactly the best, either…Kirby: Don't worry. This isn't everyone.
- Meanwhile, Keito and Caiya got lost. Caiya assumes they aren't. Cue the following dialogue:Keito: We're not lost? Okay, then tell me where we are.Caiya: Uhmm… Dream Land! (innocently smiling)[Beat]Keito: I suppose I should have seen that coming.Caiya: Donuts!!
- Kirby throws a Warp Star to find missing KAS members. It lands near Caiya…who misinterprets it as a donut. And eats it.
- Meanwhile, after Kaxo and Vezo got into a fight with Kaxo winning, Keito arrives riding on Caiya. Kaxo gets instantly impressed.Keito: Oh, don't look at me like that. Caiya ate a Warp Star, so I had no choice but to climb on or she would have flown off without me.Kaxo: I like it!Keito: You… d- wait, what?Kaxo: Sure! It's unconventional yet humiliating and uncomfortable! Brilliant! Now, shall we get going?Keito (sweat-dropping): …okayyyy…Caiya: [face that just screams "Oh, Crap!"]
- While the original line is an out-of-character moment for modern characterization of Kaxo, it's still very funny.Kaxo: Sure! Pain and discomfort to an innocent Kirby for your own use? Brilliant! Now, where are we going?
- Vezo just flat-out refuses to ride Caiya and decides to find his own way. Keito wants to make him ride.Vezo: I'm not gonna be riding on Caiya! I'll find my own way there.Keito: Well, just pretend she's a Warp Star, then!Vezo: Unlike you, I don't have a vivid imagination.Keito: Come on, Vezo!Kaxo: All aboard the Caiya express.Vezo: No.
- While the original line is an out-of-character moment for modern characterization of Kaxo, it's still very funny.
- When Kirby Adventure Squad members assemble into cool pose, one can notice Shadik is completely not interested while Vezo is throwing Kaxo off his head.
- Eventually, Kirby Adventure Squad finally arrives to Dedede who was sitting in the arena, bored. Kirby and co. then crash into his castle, and Dedede, seeing eight Kirbies about to fight him, promptly surrenders and quickly obliges when Kirby demands him to give his Waddle Dees fairer working conditions. Kaxo is not amused.Kaxo: Well, that's a rip-off!
Average Days
- After successful mission, Kirby brings good news to Hali and gives her 100G. Hali gives them 10G as their team's cut, subtracting their debt from the toaster incident.Kirby: For the last time, the handle didn't set properly.
- After Raize shows up and calls out Keito for trying to sneak away with their reward he tried to slip away and store in his secret storage, Caiya shows up and eats a coin. When Keito reacts, Caiya spits out a gold coin, which made him believe she turned it into a gold coin. Caiya, who is now in her smart personality, reacts with an annoyance.Caiya: What are you, stupid? I didn't turn it into a gold coin, I substituted it for last week's pay. Now hurry up and split it before I want it back.
- When Hali asks for Kirby to come for a talk, Kirby encounters Division C members and tells them Hali's being a pain again...while Hali was behind him. She reacts accordingly.Hali: "A pain," hm? I'll certainly be adding THAT to the list of things that I'd like to discuss with you, Kirby.Kirby: Aw, crap.
- Later, when Kirby is following Hali to her office, they walk through very gloomy corridor, whose gloominess gets lampshaded by Kirby. Hali says they'll get painters to paint it. Kirby asks why he can't paint a corridor.Hali: You? Unlikely, considering what you did LAST time...[Flashback Cut to the scene where Kirby repainted the corridor to almost eye-hurting neon-colored red/green with red splatters of paint on the wall, with Hali standing there with shocked expression]Kirby (in flashback): Do you like it?Kirby (in present): Point taken.Hali: Exactly.
- Meanwhile, Saia, Caiya, Vezo, and Kaxo wander around there, bored. Kaxo offers them to burn something. Saia flatly refuses.
- Apparently, nobody told Talzo that rushing at Kirby Adventure Squad fists-flying with yelling "HIYAAAAH!! I CHALLENGE YOU, KIRBY ADVENTURE SQUAD!" is a very bad idea. Saia promptly whacks him with her Parasol of Pain, knocking him out. However, it turns out to be the case of Obfuscating Stupidity later, as he used this to get into the base of Kirby Adventure Squad.
- Meanwhile, Shat'l and Shadik are having a conversation. Shat'l tells Shadik that just because he can't go on missions doesn't mean he can't go to the woods. Shadik tells him to say that to Keito...who was standing there, completely shocked. He then randomly yells about it being a sign of apocalypse.
- Keito tries to jumpscare Kaxo and Raize. He fails. And then Caiya jumps out of the door to jumpscare them, successfully.
- Raize's "Pep Brew incident". Basically, he drank too many Pep Brews and started rushing around like a giggly kid, while Saia tries to stop him.
- At one moment they run past Talzo and Vezo…Talzo: God, I'm surrounded by morons. (original) / Is craziness a requirement for being on the Squad? (update)Vezo: You have no idea.
- Saia continues chasing him. And eventually, Raize hits the wall, finally stopping.Saia: *sigh* He does that every week. (original) / I am never letting him inspect our food supply ever again. (update)
- At one moment they run past Talzo and Vezo…
Escape!
- Talzo gets a lots of his moments:
- For starters, he snarks about gloomy corridor being "cheery".
- When Talzo and Keito get into a fight, their attacks cancel each other out. In the next page, the explosive reaction occurs, setting the whole room on fire.
- Later, Talzo uppercuts Keito into ceiling...which results in Keito getting glued to the ceiling, as he used superglue to fix it. Keito then asks for Talzo to un-glue him, but he just decided to ignore him and leave.
- And then Talzo gets to snark about another corridor, but neon-colored one.Talzo: ...I think I'm blind.
- Later on, Talzo encounters Saia trying to bring Raize to infirmary.Saia: Look, I don't even care that you escaped. I just need to get my friend to the infirmary.Talzo: Don't care. I'm not really TRYING to go out of my way to be violent, except towards Hali, buuut...after your little umbrella trick, I'd like to get some payback by beating you up.Saia: Meep.
- Talzo lampshading why would one need spikes in the hallway.
- Lastly, Talzo runs over Shat'l during the second-to-last part of the episode.
- *GENERIC ALARM SOUNDS*
- Hali's now-removed Breaking the Fourth Wall line.Hali: Well, I'll explain it to everybody later. Too much plot exposition for an action segment.
- The battle between Kirby and Talzo (or rather, Kirby beating the crap out of Talzo while he can't counterattack) features a lot of gems:
- First, Talzo trying to tell Kirby to stop attacking him.Talzo: Whoa! (slash) AAGH! Quit it! (slash) GAH! SERIOUSLY! (slash) I SAID QUIT IT!Kirby: No.Talzo: No?Kirby: No.Talzo: Oh. Well, it was worth a shot. (gets attacked again) AAARGHH!!
- And then Talzo points out to Kirby he's being repetitive and asks him does he have any other attacks. Cue Kirby using Mach Tornado...
- And then when Talzo finally gets to counterattack, Kirby slashes Talzo's attack in two, leaving Talzo completely dumbstruck.
- Eventually, after Saia and Keito decided to sneak out to watch the "fight", it ends with this gem:Talzo: Ugh, okay. This is Kirby. THE Kirby. He's beaten Dedede, Meta Knight, Dark Matter, and pretty much everybody else. I only have one hope now. I have to... RUUN!!!!Kirby: HEY! NO RUNNING! (chases Talzo)[Beat]Keito: That was laaaaame.
- First, Talzo trying to tell Kirby to stop attacking him.
- Later on, when Talzo escapes and rushes through Division C while Kirby and co. chase him, Neona complains about how she needs to stop getting up in the mornings.
To The Tower
- After receiving the letter, Kirby gets extremely overjoyed over the new mission, hopping around the entire base, yelling "NEW MISSION". Caiya joins the fun, hopping around and yelling other things like "Missionmelon", "DONUT" and "BWARR". And poor Raize gets caught in the middle of all this madness, screaming for help.
- Later on, they meet their client, FP, short for Falcon_Pawnch, who says that's his actual name. Kirby immediately points out absurdity of this name.Kirby: Your parents must have been high or something when they gave you your name.Falcon_Pawnch: HEY!
- Once Kirby Adventure Squad and FP enter the Old Tower...Keito: That's What She Said.
- Kirby asks FP what are they supposed to look for. He responds that the thing they are looking for is round and inside a container. After the beat, Kirby points out that means FP himself has no idea what are they looking for, to which he agrees.
- Raize meets his newest arch-nemesis...in the form of Shotzo. That is being a massive Troll. At first, once Raize assumes it to be broken, it shoots a bullet at him, catching him off-guard, and laughing at him.
- It gets better later. Raize then tries to beat Shotzo up. It goes as well as you'd expect.Raize: oww…
- Later on, he still repeatedly tries to beat up Shotzo to no avail. Eventually, he gives up. Shadik then inhales and swallows Shotzo, leaving Raize shocked so much he falls on his back, face frozen.
- It gets better later. Raize then tries to beat Shotzo up. It goes as well as you'd expect.
- Caiya ends up getting lost in the middle of nowhere. Eventually, she tries to analyze the situation, while having a lengthy speak, with the last part being "censored for your sanity" by none other than Ultimate Yoshi's Author Avatar!
- Meanwhile, Kirby and FP end up in a room with a wooden stake. FP tries to break it with his yo-yo. It goes as well as you'd expect.Kirby: Yep. It's reeeal broken now.FP: Shut up.
- Keito, meanwhile, completely oblivious to the fact that Caiya is missing, meets female Plasma Wisp named Jazzy...and scares her, which results in her turning off the lights.
- And then he lampshades that Jazzy is supposed to glow since she's made of plasma. After pointing that out, she does.
- Shadik encounters Lil and Lyze, Fusion Kirby's henchmen, who demand them to get out. Shadik's response is hurling Raize, who's still paralyzed by shock, at them.
- When Wiz teleports all Kirbies (along with Plasma Wisps couple and Jarkes) in the same room, FP is seen still trying to pound a stake, and then once he gets teleported away, he accuses it of being a coward.
- Shadik, the only one who wasn't sucked in Wiz's sphere, looks at constantly flashing colors and can't help but think "I think I'm blind...".
- And then, when Fusion Kirby orders Wiz to dispose of their "guests", Shadik defeats him, his guards and Wiz, and frees everyone in 3 seconds. Also a Moment of Awesome.
- Once Fusion Kirby gets revealed, he orders his mid-boss guards to attack. They all charge at them...except Mr. Frosty, who stands there, unamused, only spurting out a little "Meh".
- If one looks closely when Kirby Adventure Squad charges at mid-bosses, one could easily notice Kaxo grinning as he is about to fight an army of mid-bosses.
- Once Fusion Kirby tries to run away from a fight, FP stops him...by throwing Jarkes at him like a bowling ball.
- Fusion Kirby tries to intimidate FP and Jarkes.Fusion Kirby: You fools do not know who you're messing with!FP: That probably would have been more threatening if I knew who you are.
- Eventually, in the final part, FP defeats Fusion Kirby with an ultimate yo-yo.FP: ULTIMATE YO-YO!!Fusion Kirby: Pff, what can a yo-yo possibly do to me?[Cue FP pulling out a MASSIVE yo-yo]Fusion Kirby: Ah. That's what.*WHAM*
- And then the reveal what FP wanted to get: a cookie.FP: YESS! MY COOKIE IS MINE ONCE MORE. COOKYCOOKYCOOKYCOOKY!!Jarkes: Yeah, a cookie caused all of that mess.
Chapter 2
Meet the KAS
- At the beginning, Hali introduces Kirby to Ryka, the newest Kirby Adventure Squad member, and tells him to show her the basics. Kirby then explains about divisions and that his division is the most successful one. Shortly thereafter, Caiya chases Keito, believing him to be a waffle. Cue Ryka laughing, and Kirby embarrassedly adding "...contrary to most appearances".
- Ryka then asks Kirby about Division A. He answers that rarely anybody gets sent here, since it's for the best operatives (even through they have personality quirks).Ryka: So what you're saying is that I suck.Kirby: What? No! I never said that!Ryka: It's okay... I know it's true.
- The next page used to feature a fake ending-out when Ultimate Yoshi says he hates pages with nothing...and then it features a scene where Caiya plays the scene of kicking Vezo into a watery pit to a shark (actually Kaxo pretending to be a shark), after which Keito congratulates them and offers everybody a batch of pancakes and pizza. As for now it was changed due to Special Effects Failure, but the scene is still there.
- The Running Gag of Division A members suddenly popping up in the green room, with Ryka growing more and more exasperated by their sudden appearances.
- When Kirby explains about Caiya, he explains she adores donuts. Caiya appears, yelling "DONUUUUUTS!!" on the top of her lungs, much to Kirby's annoyance.
- The non-canon April Fools' comic. At first, Keito tells Caiya that he discovered Pop Star is made of donuts. Caiya then runs off, and then Caiya eats Pop Star whole! As they are left floating in space, Keito can only defensively say "...April Fool's?" to annoyed Kirby.
- During Kaxo's explanation it turns out Ryka replaced herself with inflatable double of herself. In the next page, she accidentally blows it up, much to Kaxo's annoyance.Kaxo: GODDAMMIT, WHY IS IT THAT EVERYTIME I'M NOT AROUND THERE'S AN EXPLOSION!?
- It becomes even more hilarious when you learn why he got annoyed. He enjoys destruction and missed an opportunity to see it.
- And explosion of her inflatable double deafened her.Ryka (after Vezo's explanation): WHAT? WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!
The Beginning
- During the flashback, Keeby demands Kirby to train, who was too blinded by arrogance. Later on, Kirby retells Hali how he defeated Masked Dedede. When he tells Keeby he did train, Keeby got a little...skeptical.Kirby: Yeah.Hali: Oooooh, burn.
- Shadow Kirby correcting his name to Kirby and pointing out the confusing issue with names.Kirby: Oh, Mirror Kirby! I haven't seen you in a long time!Shadow Kirby: Kirby, it's Shadow Kirby, not Mirror Kirby. It's Mirror World and Shadow Kirby, not Mirror and Mirror. It's confusing. Blame Dark Mind for it.Kirby: But he's dead.Shadow Kirby: So?
- Later on, Shadow Kirby tells Kirby to train Shadik. Kirby introduces him to Bugzzy.Kirby: Alright, Shadik. Let's see how you fare against Bugzzy.Bugzzy: I'll pulverize you, puff! You're dead meat, puff! You got that? Dead![Shadik then proceeds to swallow Bugzzy whole, much to Kirby's surprise]Kirby (sweat-dropping): Uh, good job, Shadik. Yeah.
- The next page reveals the reason why Kirby acts so arrogant in past: after Squeak Squad stoke Kirby's cake, he eventually ended up in a fight with Dark Nebula. Since Dark Nebula was supposed to be all-powerful (which isn't true), Kirby thought he's the strongest Kirby there is. In other words, the reason behind Kirby's arrogance is Dark Nebula's disappointing weakness!
- From the same page, Keeby pointed out that Shadow Kirby left Shadik with Kirby alone. The moment Shadow Kirby realizes that, they both opt on rescuing Shadik.
- Later, Kirby was about to fire the cannon. One would think he was about to fire at Shadik. But just when Keeby and Shadow Kirby ran in to stop Kirby, it turned out he was just opening the door to the next training area.
