Fridge Brilliance

  • The youngest puppy in the house has no spots yet—her name is Dorothy. A common nickname for girls named Dorothy is... Dottie.
  • The Triple-D's collars:
    • Dallas' collar is adorned by diamond shaped gems. Diamonds are rare, precious gems often associated with high social classes and are revered for their beauty. Dallas is about glamour and is very particular about her fur.
    • Destiny dons a collar containing heart shaped gems. She happens to be positioned in the middle of the group, sort of making her out to be the physical (and verbal) "heart" of the group. She also is more focused on the needs of less fortunate, as seen when she tries make her own birthday party a fundraiser for foxes.
      • She also slipped up in the episode with "incredible and caring" which she tries to pass off as 'incredibly caring'. Later Dallas says she is all about heart, while still looking fabulous. Heart shaped gems.
    • Deja Vu's collar sports circular gems. And 'deja vu' is a phenomenon where something you do, say, or encounter leads you to believe you are experiencing a previously encountered situation. In other words, deja vu is where a situation has came back full circle.
      • Additionally, she imitates her siblings because she works better in a group.
    • What should also be noted is that gemstones are originally rough and dull; it takes a lot of work to make them look shiny and attractive. Maybe their behavior in "The Woof Factor" wasn't just them being divas, and subtly that they know they have to put in the work to be as successful as they are.
  • Some may notice that the shorts are more cartoony and with more abstract backgrounds than the actual show. If "Puppy Dreams" is anything to go by, that makes sense since the shorts are actually dreams the Dalmatians are having.
  • Deepak's character design reflects him personality-wise instead of just on the surface. He's a Nervous Wreck and very high-strung despite being one of the pups to maintain peace in the house. He has the same amount of black and white fur, but one side of his body has more black fur and the other whiter fur, effectively being unstable but balanced.
    • Not to mention his spots might shift the balance further, which could represent all his siblings.
  • In the two-parter "London, We Have a Problem," Hunter is revealed to be a descendant of Cruella de Vil. This might lead you to ask why Pongo and Perdita are the Dalmatian family's great-great-great grandparents while Cruella is just Hunter's great aunt. That is until you remember dogs age faster than humans.
    • What's more, it explains why Hunter has a sphinx cat: given Cruella's tendency to want to make anything with fur into a fur coat, the sphinx is well under her radar as nothing but a "rat."
  • DJ being paid with kibble in "Dotty Dancing" is not just because the dogs have no equivalent to money. In a house of a hundred and one, how much food can you expect them all to share?
  • In "The Longest Night," Dolly tried to convince Hansel to let her come to the campout. To perform that pose Hansel and Fergus did perfectly you'd need straight ears, which Dylan doesn't have but Dolly does.
    • This might be because she can do that 'Clarissa face' from "Diamond Dogs."
    • The same episode explains why he was acting in a "tough guy" manner very out-of-character for him. He was trying to act 'macho' like his family and was unintentionally sexist to Dolly.
  • In the house, you can see that there is a pop-up tunnel which begins from the dining room and then leads to the top of the stairs. This tunnel is for Delgado's benefit. Considering the fact that he is a wheelchair bound puppy, this tunnel acts as a mobility ramp to allow Delgado to get upstairs easier.
  • Unlike his great aunt, Hunter de Vil doesn't wear fur. A subtle hint that he's not as heinous a person as she is.
  • Why isn't there any Blended Family Drama within the dalmatians? Because of Time Dissonance, so it's no wonder they adjust to being a stepfamily by the premiere episode.

Fridge Horror

  • Doug and Delilah say that Boom Night is the busiest night of the year for them. Since it's Guy Fawkes Day, and that involves fireworks, considering their jobs... both are likely on call for fires sparked by fireworks and possibly firework medical mishaps.
  • So Hunter realizes the Dalmatians are sentient but he still wants to put them through "fur optimization?"
    • Bit of a Stealth Pun in there: real kick-the-dog realization.
    • "The De Vil Wears Puppies" reveals that he had no idea that the process of skinning animals was lethal. Why would he be so naive? Then you remember that his cat Cuddles is a hairless sphynx. It wouldn't be out of character for Cruella to lie to her grandnephew by telling him that Cuddles was shaved once too. Current Cuddles may even be a replacement for a different cat that she's long since made into a fashion accessory.
  • Dylan almost eats a plate of cat furballs in "Dotty Dancing." Keep in mind, Dylan is allergic to cats (a fact even pointed out in the episode). Even if he doesn't go through it, it's scary to imagine just what would happen to him if he did.
  • Jumping back to Hunter for a bit, where are his parents? What happened to them that he had to be put under Cruella's care? Also, the fact Hunter is Cruella's grandnephew means Cruella has at least one sibling. Wonder what the heck they must feel having a sister who craves puppies to make a fur coat.
  • In the season 1 finale, Cruella throws Hunter in with the puppies. Said puppies are understandably angry at him. There's at the very least like 97 of them. They probably haven't eaten in a while. Dogs are mostly carnivorous. Had the puppies not felt sorry for him when he confesses, they would've likely torn Hunter to shreds then and there.
  • Also in the season 1 finale, Cruella and Hunter's first step for driving out the Dalmatians is to turn up the heat in their household. In reality, however, leaving a dog in the heat for too long can actually fry their brains! If they kept it up any longer, all of the family would've eventually died. It makes sense they didn't go through it though, since there would've been no way into the house if there wasn't anyone to let them in.
    • Unlike the rest of the family, Da Vinci isn't panting when she's shown in the hot house. Panting is a dog's equivalent to sweating, and is their way of letting off heat. It's entirely possible Da Vinci acquired heat stroke.
  • Had Cruella succeeded in making her coat, it's likely she would have killed Hunter as well to keep him from telling the police, and tossed his remains into the ocean along with those of the puppies. Since she is his only family, no one else would have known or mourned him. His I Just Want to Be Loved motive makes it even worse.
  • A Fridge-Tear Jerker that was brought up on the WMG page, but did Dodie Smith just up and leaving the Dalmatian Family to her house has something to do with how they absolutely avoid human contact at all cost? Maybe they believe that if they get "humaned up," said human will just abandon them again like Dodie did.

Fridge Logic

  • Dorothy is so young, she doesn't have her spots yet. However, she can see and has clearly open and visible eyes. Real Dalmatian puppies don't open their eyes until after their spots are in.
    • Because of how a Dalmatians' fur color works, Dante's fur should also be impossible.
  • Da Vinci and Diesel both have times where they are submerged in water, yet the paint/dirt on them doesn't wash off.
