There were numerous changes between 101 Dalmatian Street pitch pilot and the full series.

  • Some Concept Art shows potential names considered for the Dalmatians, which were not used. These names include Dancer, Doc, Delovely, Dedalus, Danika, Dermott, Dali, Daniela, Devina, Diaz, Didja, Divyd, Deepa, Deakon, Darnell, Dave, Dango, Dilfa, Dennis, Dawn, Daneesha, Diggory, Dolf, Danny, Dana, and Daryll.
    • In the same piece of concept art, Dee Dee's name would have been spelt as Didi.
  • The titular house was less colorful in the pitch pilot, looking like a normal brown stone on a street corner, rather than being more colorful, painted and lively as shown in the show.
  • Really, almost everyone had different designs at one point, some much more noticeable than others.
    • One such case is that both of Dylan’s ears were going to be completely black, with no spots on them, as well as having a more block shaped head. This was changed so he would have both a black ear and a white ear, with spot patterns on both, as well as a more rounded head.
    • Dolly was set to have just one collar, rather than three, as well as having black ears, and some concept work shows her wearing a beanie hat. She was also known as Daisy in the original storyboards. The reason for this name change was not only did "Daisy Dog" sound too close to "Daisy Duck," but they production team found ‘Dolly’ was hilariously unfitting for the character and they fell in love with the contrast.
    • Delilah and Doug were originally planned to resemble Pongo and Perdita more; whether or not the plan was to make them Pongo and Perdita is not yet known, and Delilah was shown to wear a fob watch as her collar tag, rather than her ID badge which she wears in the show.
    • D.J. had numerous different designs. One had his ears both white, and his collar with a music note tag. Another is similar, but his head phones are about his neck in place of a collar, and his music player attached to a strap round his waist. Another design has the music device on his collar, as it is in the show, but his headphones are earbuds rather than circumaural, with a very visible wire. Another is close to his show design, only he has white ears and a patch over his right eye.
    • The Dimitri Trio were originally planned to wear hats or beanies, with one of their ears sticking out of them like a tuft of hair.
    • The pilot episode appears to be an early version of "Walkies On The Wild Side," as Dylan (with his original design) is shown with what appears to be black paint spread around his eyes, resembling a bandit mask like Dizzy's, before he gets spooked by a spider. In the actual episode, he does not have paint around his eyes.
    • Triple-D had tons of different collar designs before landing on their final ones.
    • Delgado had different colored spots and looked a bit younger, with his collar having a lightning bolt pattern.
    • Diesel looked mostly the same, but his unibrow and dirt stains seemed to be added later on.
    • One of Dizzy's designs seemed to have been repurposed for Dee Dee as it has a streak of black leading to her nose. Her raccoon like mask wasn't added till her design was actually being digitalized, and one even has a diamond shaped spot on her forehead.
    • Going back to Dee Dee, most concept art shows her with fully black ears, or at least on one ear.
    • Dorothy didn't go through many changes (considering baby Dalmatians are pretty easy to make spot designs for because, well, they don't have spots, so there wasn't really much to change up) but it should be noted that her collar used to be either green or blue, and again had a paw design instead of a bone.
    • Da Vinci's bandana was originally going to have a white paw on it. Even when her model was being finished, some of her paint stains where different colors. The blue one on her head used to be a darker shade, her pink arm used to be green, as well as her stained eyebrow, and even two of her teeth were stained green, which seemed to be jutted out for her stained tongue.
    • If anyone went through the most changes though, it would have to be Dante. Some concept art show him with a teal mohawk, along with a spot on his left ear (or maybe a tattoo) shaped like a human skull. He had anywhere from one to three different collars along with his bigger spiked one, which also had a skull on it instead of spikes, as well as having a pentagram shaped collar tag, and when he came close to his finished concept, his collar and purple spots used to be pink, and one even had a large pink spot instead of multiple smaller ones, but these were jutted.
    • Originally, the round part of Snowball's design would have just been in her head, showing her entire body. Her design in the show has it so her entire body is like one large snowball.
    • Spencer the Sausage Dog would have had cream colored fur, but was later changed to a blue-grey color.
    • Prunella Pug was planned to have cream colored fur with a green collar. In the show itself, her fur is brown with a black collar.
    • Big Fee went through multiple body shapes before receiving the one she has.
    • Early concept images for Hunter gave him red hair, as well as wearing a large coat which would drag behind him. Adding a bit more onto this, he used to have a mohawk when his hair was turned blonde, and looked a tad pudgier.
  • Based on some visual development images, it appears that Fergus was planned to appear in "My Fair Dolly" at one point, calling Dolly a fashion victim for her "Camilla" appearance, which would have been the head spots she has in the episode, as well as a flowing white cape.
    • In an early version of "My Fair Dolly," Dizzy and Dee Dee are shown acting rude to a random collie, but this was changed to Dorothy to have more emotional impact.
  • There were a number of space based parade float ideas for "Dal-Martians," some of which include a Dalek walking Godfrey and a car dressed up like the Tardis, and another car made to resemble the USS Enterprise. This ideas were likely not used due to licensing reasons.
  • In "Dotty Dancing," Dolly asks Dylan if he had a "flea attack." According to storyboards, an earlier version of the line would have had Dolly asking Dylan if he either had a "tick attack" or the "itchy bottom thing again."
  • "London, We Have a Problem" was actually the first episode to be pitched, but was kept on the back burner for a while, as the crew wanted to have fun with the characters first before they jumped right into the show's Story Arc.
    • While animation tests were made in the pilot style, the pilot itself was just an animatic.
    • In the pilot version, rather than Dolly and Dylan yelling "Dinner," the puppies would have been able to escape the containment unit by getting excited about seeing the park.
  • The show's entire second season seems like it's become this. Disney seems to have quietly cancelled the show; so quietly in fact that Season 2's announcement of being cancelled wasn't actually announced untill over a year after Season 1's finale, but it did sound like Season 2 was in the works for quite some time. While it's still not clear what exactly did it in, most believe a rough combination of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the fact that Disney Channel was shut down in the UK in late 2020, and that the series never aired in the US till March 2021 all played a part.
