WMG / 101 Dalmatian Street

Go To

There will be a Shout-Out to Gremlins at one point, with the Dalmatians parodying the creatures.
When this troper saw the puppies running amok (for example, climbing onto and chasing the mailman) in the intro, they immediately had this in their mind.

Dante (somehow) dyed his fur.
Dalmatians do not naturally have black fur with white spots, as the color and pattern is a genetic thing. There are also some purple spots on Dante as well, so it's most likely he managed to dye it.

Dolly and Dylan are step-siblings, with Dolly belonging to Doug and Dylan belonging to Delilah
Makes sense with their personalities; Dolly being a rebellious tomboy is probably from Doug doting on her a lot, and Dylan being a pedantic Control Freak is probably from Delilah teaching him to be a proper gentleman and a responsible hardworker.
  • There's just one flaw: Dylan and Dolly have American accents. Delilah's British, so if Dylan were one of Delilah's kids, he'd have a British accent. That means that both of them are Doug's kids, so if they're step-siblings, they're from different partners Doug was with.
    • Another possibility is that Doug isn't the first American Dalmatian Delilah's been with, and one of the two (probably Dylan) is from the other American Delilah was with.
  • Confirmed. The newest trailer reveals that Dylan is from Delilah's side while Dolly takes after Doug.

There will be a How Dad Met Mom episode.
A Whole Episode Flashback focusing on Doug and his puppies immigrating to London and meeting Delilah and her puppies for the first time. Dolly and Dylan also meet, and shows what they were like before their respective parents marry, flanderized versions of themselves as a result of their parents' influence.

The boy in the theme song is related to Cruella De Vil.
Come on, just look at his design and tell me you don’t see the similarities.
  • Confirmed. His name is Hunter De Vil.

The youngest puppies (such as Dorothy) are the half-siblings of Dylan, Dolly, and their respective bio siblings, having been born from Doug and Delilah after they got together.
Given that she's so young she doesn't have a single spot, Dorothy was clearly born recently and her being the result of Doug and Delilah's marriage would add another layer to why Dylan (and Dolly to a lesser extent) is so protective of her; she represents the family remaining intact.

The titular address was named after the original 101 dalmatians.
Can't be a coincidence that 101 Dalmatian Street just so happens to have a family of 101 dalmatians living there.

Dante is so paranoid about the possible end because he went through the same thing or something similar to what happened to Lucky in the original movie when he was born.
Somehow he remembers it and because he nearly died once, he became fearful hearing about possibilities of the apocalypse because he fears the day he'll die again for good.

Portia's related to the poodle that Pongo deemed 'too fancy' in the original movie.
It would make at least a little sense..

Dante is adopted.
There is a theory that Dante may have dyed his hair, but who's to say that he was actually adopted and came from a family of dalmatians that have his type of fur somehow?
  • Related, Dante isn't a Dalmatian at all but some other breed or mix.
    • The latter is Jossed, as "Dante's Inferno" has Hunter ask Dante if he really is a Dalmatian, to which Dante nods in response.
      • Haven't you ever heard of an Oblivious Adoption?
      • If his Spots were painted on, he would have realized after his first bath, and considering he appears to be one of the eldest of the Pups based on his size he would likely be older than both Da Vinci & Deepak, and other materials do state that many of the other Pups are adopted, why should Dante be the only one to not be told he is adopted? Also, Do you honestly think a Pup as Paranoid as Dante would not bring up having even the slightest bit of suspicion in to whether he was a Dalmatian or Labrador? When Hunter asked him, he nodded with out hesitation!
      • Okay, fair point.

The other puppies are adopted.
Adding onto that, the other 81 puppies (including the Dimitris) were adopted around the time Delilah and Doug met up, meaning they didn't have as many kids as we initially thought.
  • Seemingly to be confirmed, according to a Japan Television Guide; Both Delilah & Doug had a litter of Fifteen each, before meeting each other, and then had another litter of Fifteen together, before adopting Fifty-Four more, be it from Shelters or taking in Strays.

Mr Fuzzy is a descendant of Roger and Anita.
He's tall and skinny like Roger, and has red hair like Anita. Plus it would explain how he initially got along so well with all the Dalmatians.

Delilah's siblings and their puppies are named alphabetically and live in different countries.

Spike is going to get a Musical Number, in the Summer Special.
If the Summer Sun Song is any thing to go by, the Summer Special is going to be a Musical. Spike's Voice, Olly Murs, is a Professional Singer, and Spike shall actually be his first acting role. Why else would You cast some one Known for their singing career, in a Musical Episode, if you are not going to give them a Musical Number!?

The girl Dylan meets at the end of the Summer Sun song is evil.
The (presumably) Border Collie that Dylan meets at the end of the Summer Sun song has evil intentions, and using Dylan is a part of her plan. She also may be working with Hunter to capture the dalmatians.
  • Jossed. The storyboards that this theory was based on weren't even in this episode. Instead the evil character was Bessie.

The Wow Of Miaow will be the show's first big Tear Jerker episode.
The episode synopsis reads "Dylan's cata-phobia causes Guru-Miaow devotee Deepak to leave home and move in with their feline neighbour Constantin." Given that Deepak is already The Woobie as most of his appearances have him get hurt, frightened or neglected, this episode is just bound to be 101 Dalmatian Street's version of "Lucky To Be Alone" and Deepak will more than likely get hit with his biggest dose of Break the Cutie yet.
  • Semi-jossed, but this episode was still emotional and could be considered a Tear Jerker to some.

Expanding on the above guess, it could also be a Very Special Episode against racism.
Considering that cats are as sapient as dogs and any other animal in this show and that Dylan's said to be "cata-phobic", it could work...
  • Semi-confirmed. Part of the moral of the episode was to respect cats after the Dimitris had insulted them, but it never made it blatant or that obvious.

Deepak will deliver a really epic The Reason You Suck speech to Dylan in The Wow Of Miaow.
Think about it, Deepak has been mistreated more than any other pup in the show:
  • In Snow Day, he got thrown under the bus and called a "slippery customer" over something completely accidental.
  • In The Woof Factor, he was dragged away from his meditation session against his will and humiliated several times throughout the episode.
  • Dylan gave him the cold shoulder when he got infected in Flea-Mageddon even as he begged to be let out
Likely, Dylan's attitude towards cats will be the straw that breaks the camel's back and Deepak will snap and chew Dylan out over all the times his older brother mistreated him and Dylan will have a My God, What Have I Done? moment.

The episode Fetch will actually be centered around Dawkins and has a Man Versus Machine plot where Dawkins gets jealous of Fetch taking his place as Dylan's assistant.
  • Jossed, sort of. Dawkins actually develops a love and appreciation for Dylan's Fetch ball.

Dante is a black lab with white spots being painted on.
  • He was found by Da Vinci and/or Deepak, having being abandoned from a very young age (perhaps he was a runt of a litter the owner wanted to get rid of). He latched on to the dalmatians to the point where he is convinced that he is a dalmation and no one has the heart to tell him differently. Deepak of course is completely supportive of Dante's true self and Da Vinci supplied the white spots.
    • Jossed, as "Dante's Inferno" has Hunter ask Dante if he really is a Dalmatian, to which Dante nods in response.
      • Haven't you ever heard of an Oblivious Adoption?
      • I think Dante would have realized his Spots were painted on after his first bath, if that was the case, or even when he falls in to the Canal in "Curse Of The Ferry Dog". On top of that, in "Flea-Mageddon", when he scratches himself, White fur is shown. Also, Do you honestly think a Pup as Paranoid as Dante would not bring up having even the slightest bit of suspicion in to whether he was a Dalmatian or Labrador? When Hunter asked him, he nodded with out hesitation!
      • Okay, fair point.

Dante Has a rare form of Melanisim
  • A Zebra with white polka-dots was born, so maybe he managed to get some weird mutation. Even if it's not genetically possible, there are less possible things in this show after all.

There will be an episode where Hansel's male relatives (or just his entire family) come to visit.
They clearly set up this plot in "The Longest Night" since its heavily implied he's too ashamed to tell his family, with Hansel having to put on a show with Dylan and Dolly helping. He'll obviously reveal his secret by the end of it though.
  • I can see the plot. Hansel will come asking for Dylan's help, Dolly persuades him to in another attempt to win his affections.
  • It could turn out that his whole family have embarrassing secrets they don't tell anyone else for fear of rejection or ridicule. Then they all bond over this.

One of the early episodes of season 2 will be about Dawkins coping over the recent loss of Princess Positron.
And it will be a huge Tear Jerker episode that parallels coping with the death of a loved one and if there are other episodes leading up to it, Dawkins will have a noticeably sadder and more depressed mood to him than usual.

Delgado will either have more prominent roles or at least more speaking roles in future episodes.
His voice actor, according to his tweets, was rather hyped about joining the VA cast of the show. Delgado only has a few moments of screen time and dialogue compared to his other relatively unique siblings like Deepak, Dante, and Da Vinci. And it seems a bit odd to really be excited about a few seconds of voice acting (unless he had other roles or was an avid Disney fan).

Destiny was not genuine about caring for the needs of society.
While Destiny was trying in vain to make Dolly listen to her ideas of her ideal birthday party in "It's My Party", she accidentally slipped in a "I will look incredible and caring" before correcting herself. This may be a hint at her true intentions behind the "caring" facade she was trying to build up. Destiny could be one of those celebrities who try to make themselves look more appealing to a certain audience by promoting and supporting causes that either touch their target audience's hearts or make themselves look like good people.

Some of Doug and Delilah's puppies are either dead or taken in the custody of their ex-spouses or their humans.
This is under the assumption that Doug and Delilah had previous marriages, and only "divorced" instead of becoming widowed.Dalmatian puppies usually come in litters of 15, which would basically make at least 15 pups having the same birthday. In the original movie, Roger had mentioned that it was normal for puppies to die upon birth when it seemed like Pongo lost one of his own to death. It may be possible that some of Delilah and Doug's puppies have died for real. Alternatively, they did live, but were taken into custody by their biological parents or humans when they separated.

This could be why many of the relatively eldest puppies don't appear to be the same height or age, and why Dylan and Dolly are the only eldest of their respective biological families despite puppies often being born in litters of many at a time.

Hunter's role in Season 2
With Cruella no longer pulling his strings, what do any of you think is next for the latest heir to the DeVil family?:
  • He and Dylan can be best friends for real.
  • Since he can talk to dogs, and possibly other animals, he could act as a middleman between animals and humans.
  • In addition, he could assist the dalmatians in their next inevitable fight against Cruella.

Other characters of the original film will return in some capacity
So far aside from Cruella's return, Pongo and Perdita were shown in photos and flashbacks, as is a similar case for Roger & Anita and Horace & Jasper. Perhaps in the second season, we could expect an appearance by these characters as well (for the animal characters, it will be through flashbacks).

Episode ideas for Season 2.

Hunter is an Artificial Human
The fact that he has no other family besides Cruella, that he can understand dogs, the very dog-like bark he gives off in the season one finale, and a steep fall that he survives in one episode? It could be possible he was created by his "aunt" using human and dog DNA (or could even be robotic) to serve as a weapon in catching the puppies.

Cruella herself has been genetically altered
Some have questioned how Cruella could still be alive after all this time. In the finale, we see her covering cracks in her skin. Connecting to the theory above, technology has advanced to the point she has developed a way to keep herself "young" while plotting to hunt down the next generation's pups.

Da Vinci is part Chow Chow or Shar-Pei.
Would explain why her tongue is blue, other than her colorful artistic personality. Besides, do you really expect all 101 to be fully purebred? Perhaps some are related to other dogs though not really showing it entirely well.

The descendant of Sargent Tibbs will help the pups one day in a future episode and dispel cat-hate
Sargent Tibbs helped Pongo and Perdita, it would make sense for his descendants to have loyalty to dalmatians, after all the stories their family spoke of Sargent Tibbs place in the Dalmatian Saga. Even better if it is an entire clan of cats with the same numbers as the Dalmatians.

Cuddles will be the main antagonist of Season 2
Now that Hunter has reformed, Cuddles probably wants revenge on the Dalmatian family. It would pair up nicely with the above guess, him being a potential Evil Counterpart to the heroic cats.

Constantine was kidnapped
In the Season One finale, he was shown being put into a cage by Cruella and hasn't appeared since. Season 2 will tie this in with the other two above theories; Cuddles is holding him hostage and the Dalmatians set up a rescue mission with help from the descendant of Sargent Tibbs.

Dawkins will face a case of depression come Season 2, and the siblings will try to snap him out of his funk
I mean, come one, looks at the way he's looking at the remains of a toy he cherished more than anything else. I have a hard time he's gonna be acting much like himself in the next season. Plus, this could be a really good emotional arc for him, and it could be a way for him to learn it's okay to show emotion, especially in a time of crisis.

If/When Cruella returns, fate might not be so nice to her next time
Perhaps this is kinda a long shot, but she's already at least ninety or so years old, and her inventions can easily backfire. There's nothing saying that next time the Dalmatian family might not be able to help her in time (or worse yet more unlikely, decide she's already had a shot to change and then just leaves her to die) and she finally suffers a Crueland Unusual Death.. or in this case a Cruella and Unusual Death?

Hunter is the son of Ivy De Vil from The first 101 Dalmatians animated series
Or at least this universe's equivalent of her.
  • Highly doubt it. the show's developers have said they only watched the original movie and read the first novel said movie was based on.

Roxy, Snowball and maybe Hansel will try to show the Dalmatians being a pet really isn't bad for animals
The family's always had a pretty rough relationship with humans, to the point of getting "Human-ed up" is considered one of their biggest taboos. But, most of their friends... have humans, and don't seem any worse for wear because of it. What if they try to make them see that it's okay to befriend a human? After all, dogs are called "Mans best friend" for a reason!
  • Yeah, Pongo and Perdita were owned by Roger and Anita. Personally though(maybe enough for another WMG), they may feel a bit abandoned by their original owner(who appears to be Dodie Smith, which may make her in this continuity a case of Write What You Know). She left her 101 dogs! to essentially fend for themselves. Though they're shown to be perfectly capable of living there, or Dodie knew of their intelligence, they might harbor some resentment over leaving her dogs to live in a house with no one to take care of them, Doug and Delilah in particular if this turns out to be true.

If the events of 101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure were canon in this universe, than the reason Cruella became worse today was because of her Sanity Slippage at the end of the film.
  • Jossed, The Show Creators are on record saying they did not watch any of the Franchise's Sequels or Spin-Offs, when developing the Show. They only used the Original "Novel" & first "Animated" Film for reference. So, in the "101 Dalmatian Street" Continuity, only the first film is canon!

In D-Factor, Dylan's fake personalities was actually him trying to copy the personalities of his siblings.
We never see what different personalities the 86 other puppies have (well, besides the fact they follow a Hive Mind) but this would make some sense. Dylan thinks his personality is too boring? Copy the ones of his brothers and sisters that are more interesting!

Season 2 will feature Doug and Delilah's previous spouses as a Big Bad Duumvirate.
Doug's will be a deadbeat and manipulative wife and mother who abandoned her family because she refused to provide for them. Delilah's will be an irresponsible and unfaithful husband and father who nearly got one of his pups killed by sheer neglect and cares more about his own pleasures than his own family.

Season 2 will still happen, but it'll be made by Disney's more mainstream American studios, not Atomic Cartoons
A fan actually got in contact with Atomic Cartoons about what was going on with Season 2, only for them to reply with them saying that they weren't working on the show anymore and it was being made by a different studio, but they didn't know which. I think it's possible that the debacle between Disney and the U.K cable channels (which was probably the thing that left Season 2 in limbo to begin with) caused them to move production to the main Disney Animation Studios in the United States, since it really doesn't have anywhere else to go.

Bessie did get her comeuppance eventually
She was turned into dog kibble.

At least one of Delilah's siblings has a family that consisted of either exactly 100 or 102 dalmatians.
Thus sparing them from Cruella since her revenge wouldn't be as satisfying if the number was off by even one
