Adaptations and other derivative works that may be referenced but have no page on the wiki (yet):

  • The Golden Key, or The Adventures of Buratino (1936), a Russian retelling of Collodi's book by Aleksey Nikolayevich Tolstoy that has itself seen several movie adaptations.
  • The Adventures of Pinocchio (1972), Italian life-action tv miniseries directed by Luigi Comencini that feature an All-Star Cast of italian actors as Gina Lollobrigida and Nino Manfredi.
  • Pinocchio's Christmas (1980), a Rankin/Bass special that's a holiday-flavored adaptation of the book.
  • The New Adventures of Pinocchio (1999), a sequel to the 1996 live-action film, this time directed by Michael Anderson and replacing most of the cast except Martin Landau and Udo Kier.
  • Pinocchio (2002), live-action film directed by and starring Roberto Benigni.
  • Pinocchio 3000 (2004), often shortened to "P 3 K", computer-animated film, by Daniel Robichaud. (Also laps into Recycled IN SPACE! territory.)
  • The Adventures of Pinocchio (2007), opera by Jonathan Dove and Alasdair Middleton.
  • Welcome Back Pinocchio (2007), animated film by Orlando Corradi.
  • Pinocchio (2009) a Star Studded miniseries starring among others the late Bob Hoskins as Geppetto, Robbie Kay as Pinocchio and popular italian comedian Luciana Littizzetto as a reworked Jiminy Cricket.
  • Pinocchio (2013)
  • A Tree of Palme (2002), An anime film by Takashi Nakamura, the same guy who made Anime/Catnapped. Imagine post apocalyptic Pinocchio with a tablespoon of David Lynch thrown in alongside some sweet music by Takashi Harada.
  • √964 Pinocchio (1991), a Japanese cyberpunk film by Shozin Fukui, where the main character is a brain-modified sex cyborg. Not exactly based on Pinocchio but the protagonist's codename is Pinocchio and he was created by scientists. He also kind of turns more "human" as the film progresses.
