Doctor Garaki: So, outsmarted sir?
All for One: Indeed, doctor. After all, what is the alternative? That All Might decided to just pass his Quirk on to a random teenager that so happened to be the heir of the Green Valley Clan? An heir that, by the way, I just so happened to have promised to my daughter shortly before we can assume he was chosen?
Doctor Garaki: ...Yes?
All for One: Preposterous. What next doctor, you are going to tell me that everything that has led to this situation is the result of some puerile comedy author's attempt at entertaining the masses through a gigantic and foolish comedy of errors? Because if so, I'd like to have a few words with him.

My False Love Academia is a My Hero Academia Alternate Universe fic by Darken_Raichu, available on Archive of Our Own, FF.Net and SpaceBattles. The premise is that the Midoriya family is actually part of the Green Valley Yakuza clan, and Izuku's branch is the main family, making him the heir. Hisashi also set up an Arranged Marriage with a Villain faction, The League of Villains with Himiko as his fiancé.

Contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • Himiko, Mustard, Compress, and Dabi all joined the League of Villains around the time of the Sludge Incident instead of after the Hosu incident.
    • Compress accidentally runs over Stain early on and his injury results in him staying with the League for nearly a year until he's healed.
    • Gran Torina appears before the Sports Festival to give Izuku more training in using his Quirk.
    • Twice appears during Internship Week as a member of the League of Villains instead of joining afterwards.
  • Adaptation Name Change:
    • Because of her adoption by All for One, Himiko Toga becomes Himiko Shigaraki.
    • Izuku's hero name is now Valiant.
  • Adaptational Villainy: Exaggerated yet justified. Because of structural problems in the Hero Industry, specifically that new Heroes are financially distressed until they get a big break in their career, many are snatched up by organised crime like the various Yakuza and Triad groups who provide funding, information, and/or other forms of support in exchange for loyalty. This is why a lot of heroes, including famous and high-ranking ones, have ties to organised crime. And this is before including the Heroes that are from said crime families to begin with. Specific examples:
    • Downplayed with those tied to the Green Valley Yakuza Clan, who have a reputation for being one of the better groups:
      • Born into the clan: David Shield and Yo Shindo.
      • On the clan's payroll: Cow Lady, Pankration, Pony, Jiro, Gunhead, Shiozaki, Setsuna, Komori, Yanagi, and Tatami Nakagame.
    • For those tied to the Azure Dragon Syndicate triad:
      • Born into the triad: Hiryu Rin, who is the heir.
      • On the triad's payroll: Sen, Ryukyu, Yui, and Kendo.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Overall, Izuku is on a lot more cordial terms with the League of Villains, with Himiko specifically becoming his fiancé in an Arranged Marriage.
  • Age Lift: Melissa is two years younger than she is in canon.
  • Altar Diplomacy: The other branches of the Green Valley Clan are hoping to set up their daughters with Izuku to gain more power within the clan. They don't seem to consider the fact he is in a relationship with Himiko a big hurdle to overcome.
  • Amazon Brigade: Inko, Mitsuki, Mika and one other woman used to form a biker gang called the Musutafu Tigers before they were absorbed into the Green Valley Yakuza.
  • Answer Cut:
    • David tells Izuku the story of All Might having the hardest fight of his life to that point with a Yakuza. David never found out who it was and Izuku wonders who such a person could be. Cue an immediate scene change to Inko as her friends chant "All Might Crusher!".
    • When Komori wonders what her sister is doing, the scene cuts to the League of Villains where Hina is winning a drinking contest.
  • Arranged Marriage: One is set up between the heir of the Green Valley Yakuza, Izuku, and the heiress of the League of Villains, Himiko.
  • Ascended Extra: Mustard is a lot more prominent in this story compared to canon, being one of Izuku's new friends instead of a bit villain during the Training Camp attack.
  • Atrocious Alias: Shigaraki Tomura's Villain name is picked by his subordinates to be Handjob.
  • Bait the Dog: All for One tells Rody about how his mother died young and how that upset him. Rody briefly tries to offer condolences until All for One reveals he is upset he never got to commit matricide.
  • Becoming the Mask: While Izuku and Himiko got along and are genuine friends, they did not actually love each other that way at first and only put up with the engagement to prevent a gang war. As time passes, however, they begin to genuinely fall for each other.
  • Berserk Button: Never. Insult. All Might. Do so, and Izuku will ensure dire consequences. Even internet trolls know better than to do so on his fanfics. It's because of him that the fanfic site he's a part of has that rule.
  • The Bet: Izuku makes a bet with Hiryu without fully realising the consequences. He thinks the stakes are just mere autographs until he is informed that those autographs are pledges of loyalty to a syndicate and since he betted Cow Lady's signature, if he loses his bet, her daughter Pony also has to transfer to Hiryu's triad.
  • Bodyguard Babes: Kyouka notices that Izuku's bodyguards are entirely female. Kyouka lampshades the sheer improbability of this happening by pure chance and wonders if his family is trying to give him a harem.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Hina tells Izuku she wishes the author would write smut.
  • Brick Joke: All for One tells Tomura to never get shot in the prologue and the scene immediately cuts to Snipe feeling a new sense of purpose. Sure enough, when the USJ incident happens, Snipe shoots at Tomura, several times, and he feels incredibly satisfied to do that.
  • Cassandra Truth:
    • Katsuki insists that the Himiko Shigaraki Izuku is dating is the serial killer Himiko Toga. The police however are sceptical since Shigaraki is not working on the same modus operandi Toga uses. She is cleared of suspicion by the police after Inko covers for her, meaning Katsuki is on his own.
    • Camie thinks Izuku is part of the Green Valley clan, and that a lot of UA Students are working for said clan either directly or indirectly. She's right, but Shishikura doesn't believe her due to her ditziness and the theory being crazy to his ears.
  • Chick Magnet: Izuku has gained the attraction of several girls. First is Himiko, who though started as an arranged fiance, began to genuinely fall for him. Over the course of the Internship week, he also gains the attraction of Saiko Intelli and Kashiko Sekigai, before he actually met them.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Played with. Himiko does not mind if other girls thirst for her boyfriend. In fact, she'd love to share and get Izuku a harem with her as the Top Wife. But Izuku can currently barely handle one girlfriend and she has a chat with Saiko and Sekigai who are after him themselves where she warns (threatens) them to not cross the line.
  • Connected All Along:
    • Izuku is stunned to learn the Shields are a branch of the Green Valley Clan, meaning the former sidekick to All Might is a relative of his.
    • Tsuyu's and Reiko's mothers were both part of the same biker gang.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: David Shield is both a Director of I-Island and has the second highest rank in the Green Valley Yakuza who uses his position in the former organisation to launder money for the latter organisation. He doesn't like doing it and has considered leaving the Yakuza, but has never committed to leaving.
  • Date Peepers:
    • Izuku's and Himiko's first date is spied on by Katsuki and Mustard. Mustard ends up knocking Katsuki out to make sure the date isn't interrupted.
    • Taken to more ridiculous levels with Izuku's and Himiko's mall date the weekend after the USJ incident which has even more people watching it. Katsuki still wants to prove Himiko is a Serial Killer, and while Ashido and Kirishima do not believe it, they tagged along anyway for the fun of it. Uraraka and Momo are there also to spy on the date and make sure Katsuki cannot sabotage it. Iida is there initially to protest the spying only to come around to help make sure Katsuki does not sabotage the date. Hana and Melissa are spying since they are still trying to check if Izuku and Himiko are in a real relationship or if they are just pretending and Mei is forced to be there since Melissa is supposed to keep an eye on her. Mustard, Pony, Jirou, and Tsuyu are their own group and when Mustard notices the other groups, he is upset to learn how many people are trying to spy on the date. He becomes even more upset when he learns Kaminari, Mineta, and Hagakure are also there to spy on the date.
  • Description Cut: After hearing Himiko's false family name of Shimura, All Might calls Gran Torino who is glad to hear Nana's family is doing fine. Cue a scene change where her actual grandkid is scratching his back with her son's severed hand.
  • Double Entendre: Saiko's plan for her and Sekigai to get Izuku is called Operation Dual Wielding. Saiko does not notice the problem with that term, but Sekigai does.
  • Dramatic Irony: Miruko tells Izuku about a case she's working on where she's investigating the Green Valley Clan, without realising Izuku is the heir of the clan.
  • The Dreaded:
    • Inko was a former assassin for the Green Valley Clan, and it's because of her that All Might is afraid of the yakuza in general and All for One is scared of the Green Valley Clan specifically.
    • The Green Valley Clan in general is feared and Izuku invoking their reputation is enough to get the USJ thugs he is dealing with to back off.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Snipe makes a brief appearance in Chapter One long before his canon appearance.
  • Entertainingly Wrong:
    • All Might notices Izuku has been cagey about his family but assumes it is because his family is rich, not that they are a powerful Yakuza clan.
    • When All Might listens to Izuku's and Pony's conversation, he thinks they are talking about Izuku becoming the heir to All Might's legacy and how All Might didn't do enough to prepare him for it when they are actually talking about Izuku being a Yakuza heir and how Hisashi didn't do enough to prepare him for it.
    • Hisashi and Inko are suspicious of Izuku suddenly having a Quirk but they assume it came directly from All for One instead of All Might.
    • One of the Business Course students assumes there are PR reasons for Izuku and Himiko being a pair, citing all the ways they are foils to each other which gives the public a lot of good vibes. In actuality, PR had nothing to do with their pairing.
    • When Momo describes her crush (Bakugou) as "strong, smart, a good leader if rough around the edges, very sensitive but also scary and off-putting", Kendo immediately thinks she's talking about Izuku.
  • Epic Fail: Wanting to one-up Izuku who has a girlfriend, Katsuki tries to ask every girl at Aldera Middle School out. Each and every one of them rejects him out of hand.
  • Exact Words:
    • When Hagakure asks Masutaru if he is an old friend of Izuku's and Himiko's, he says he is probably their oldest friend and vice versa. While true, it hides that they only knew each other for roughly a year.
    • During Shigaraki's grand plan, Stain had instructions to destroy the agency of a fake Hero. Stain destroyed Shigaraki's.
  • Failed a Spot Check:
    • Yuyu is so focused on posting a new chapter of her story on time that she completely misses Izuku, Himiko, and Hana introducing themselves to her the first time and when this is discovered hours later, they have to introduce themselves again.
    • Nana missed so many signs Inko is the daughter she gave up for adoption after the murder of her husband.
  • Fainting: Yoichi is so enraged to learn that All for One is alive and that the ninth holder is in a relationship with his daughter that he faints from it.
  • Famed In-Story: Taneo Tokuda publishes an article on Izuku's Heroism during the Internship Week, specifically how he saved people from one of bombed buildings as a direct counterpoint to Tomura's claims that the heroes can't save everyone, catapulting Izuku to fame while in his first year of U.A.
  • Fantastic Ableism: Himiko fears being judged for the fact she needs blood for her Quirk and is shocked UA does not in sharp contrast to her biological parents who considered her a freak for it.
  • Food as Bribe: During the joint training with other schools, Jirou and Tsuyu bribe Aizawa with unlimited coffee so that Jirou can partner with Momo and Tsuyu can partner with Bakugou.
  • Gaslighting: All for One refuses to admit making mistakes, so when he does, he pretends it's another party's fault, like Tomura's, by insisting on things like he did tell them valuable information or that he didn't voice a specific opinion and acting like the other person misremembered. Garaki is also a victim, but being a lot smarter than Tomura, he sees through it, he just doesn't speak up since All for One is a lot more powerful than him.
  • Good Angel, Bad Angel: Stain has a variant where Mini-Stain and Stendhal show up when he reassesses trying to kill Ingenium.
  • Gossipy Hens: Mina loves gossiping and Jirou will tell her a lot if it means the former won't try to dig up anything on the latter.
  • Groin Attack:
    • Tooru kicks a minor villain in the balls, and since it was being recorded, the humiliated villain becomes a meme.
    • Setsuna punches Overhaul in the balls. Then she does it again and again.
  • Hoist by His Own Petard: A minor villain's own personal broadcast catches him being kicked in the balls, allowing him to become a meme.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: Parodied. Stain is upset he went from feared serial killer to trainer of fodder thugs due to slipping up in attacking Ingenium.
  • Hypocritical Humour: Nighteye hopes Miruko isn't trying to turn Izuku into another her, not realising he is doing that by trying to turn Lemillion into another All Might.
  • I Reject Your Reality: Hina is completely convinced she's in a relationship with Miruko, Nagant, and Yaritezawa, but the former two explicitly said their one night was a one-time thing and the third has a restraining order against her.
  • I Was Just Joking: When Mustard asks to die after some intense training, he quickly tells Himiko he was just joking when she pulls out her knife.
  • If Only You Knew: Natsuo wishes his brother Touya is there at the Festival to see his happy siblings, and then serves food to Dabi not knowing he is Touya.
  • Implied Death Threat: Nagant threatens the HPSC President and Mera by going on an "unrelated note" revealing she knows where they live and their daily routines.
  • In Spite of a Nail: In spite of constant interruptions, Shouto manages to fit in his "I will beat you" speech against Izuku, being able to do it before their actual match instead of right before the Sports Festival started.
  • In the Blood:
    • It turns out Izuku's absurd luck with his achievements in heroics and for the yakuza came from his father. Hisashi, just like Izuku, got really lucky and pretended he planned it all along. Hisashi for his part hopes that Izuku didn't inherit his luck and that his son actually has a master plan.
    • Masaru likes dominant women, hence his marriage with Mitsuki. Katsuki inherited this trait, hence why he likes it when Tsuyu and Momo are being dominant, both with him and when they beat down villains.
  • Info Dump: Jirou and Pony give Izuku the rundown on how the Hero Industry and organised crime intersect and explain what they know about the Green Valley Clan's operations in Chapter 19.
  • Insistent Terminology: Mustard does not have a gun. He has a Projectile Launching Multifunctional Support Item. After all, minors can't legally carry guns, but they can carry support items. Mustard is stunned the ruse works in fooling most people.
Mustard: My god, why does everyone believe it? Izuku has literally been the only one not in the know that called me out on it!
  • Instant Humiliation: Just Add YouTube!: A minor villain's broadcast catches him being kicked in the nuts by Tooru and it quickly becomes a meme.
  • Internal Reveal:
    • Izuku's classmates (besides Katsuki) at Aldera learns he has a girlfriend in Chapter 10.
    • Aizawa learns about Izuku's uniquely late Quirk acquisition in Chapter 21 and is upset he was not informed sooner.
  • Kansas City Shuffle: Tomura's attack during the Internship is elaborate. Phase One is wide-scale riots, which turn out to be a distraction as a setup for Phase Two, which are assassination attempts on the Top-Ten Heroes. This turns out to also be a distraction, as their actual target are several buildings left unprotected by the Heroes as they try to protect their own with the intention of shaking faith in them by pointing out that the Heroes aren't infallible and they'd prioritise their own.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: After Todoroki freezes Kirishima, Kaminari remarks "That's Cold". His other classmates just stare at him and Pony demands he never makes a pun like that ever again.
  • Lampshade Hanging:
    • One of the thugs Tomura recruits for his USJ attack actually questions why the Nomu have exposed brains. Tomura doesn't know why and Kurogiri guesses it's a stylistic choice.
    • Mustard lampshades the fact Izuku's a harem protagonist when he notices so many girls trying to get with him.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: All for One mockingly brings up the possibility that the entire story is due to "some puerile comedy author's attempt at entertaining the masses through a gigantic and foolish comedy of errors".
  • Leave the Two Lovebirds Alone: During their first study session together, Inko keeps Mustard away so Izuku and Himiko would be alone together.
  • Leonine Contract: Komori being the younger sister of Hina who drugged people would normally make it difficult for her to be a hero, forcing her to turn to the Green Valley Clan for help. Lucky for her, David, who made the arrangements, only asks for her to look out for Izuku and Melissa in return.
  • Locked Out of the Loop:
    • Izuku is completely unaware his family is a Yakuza Clan until Hisashi reveals it after he comes back to Japan. Both Hisashi and Inko would have liked to keep him ignorant and out of the clan's business forever, but Hisashi has to tell him and get him involved in the Arranged Marriage for the sake of preventing a massive gang war that could destroy Japan.
    • Maguma Iwata and Isana Shindo are not aware that Izuku's and Himiko's marriage is an arranged one to prevent them from starting a war with All for One and Hisashi wants to keep it that way.
  • Love Epiphany: By Chapter 40, Katsuki realizes he has a crush on both Momo and Tsuyu.
  • Memetic Mutation: Invoked.
    • Izuku briefly becomes a meme called "UA student resigned to die" when the Sports Festival broadcast catches his expression when he steps on a landmine.
    • A minor villain becomes the "Villain Regrets His Life Choices" meme when his own broadcast catches Tooru kicking him in the balls.
  • Mistaken for Gay: More than one person misinterpreted Katsuki's obsession with proving Himiko is a villain as jealousy over her relationship with Izuku.
  • My God, You Are Serious!: Izuku doesn't believe his father when the latter first tells him that he got someone to take his measurements in his sleep. Sometime later, he meets Kurogiri whom his father explains is the guy who took his measurements, causing Izuku to realise his father was completely serious the first time.
  • Mythology Gag: Garaki brings up All for One's original plan of hijacking Tomura's body which has since been derailed by the Arranged Marriage among other things that came up.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Tomura's plans during the Internship arc almost succeed at completely destroying the public's faith in heroes, and the only reason it didn't is because Izuku did just the right thing for the public to maintain some level of faith in them.
  • No-Sell: Played with. Overhaul's Quirk is not outright ineffective on Setsuna, but due to her Quirk, she is an incredibly good match-up for him due to her being about to easily recover from his otherwise devastating insta-kill attacks.
  • Not Hyperbole: When Fuyumi threatens to set her father on fire if he upsets her, he thinks she's exaggerating until she pulls out the gasoline.
  • Not What It Looks Like: Ochako's parents catch her and Shouto in an intimate position on her bed after the two trip into it.
  • On Second Thought: When Izuku asks Pony to call him something other than "Boss", she tries a series of unappealing options that end with "Master". Izuku gives in and says "Boss" is fine.
  • One Dialogue, Two Conversations: Izuku tries bringing up his family is a Yakuza clan right before All Might gives his Quirk and All Might says he already knows. It's not until right before the actual transfer that Izuku learns All Might thinks he comes from a rich family, which is true, but not quite what Izuku is worried about.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Nighteye wears a weak disguise when he goes to All Might's signing events. His sidekicks and interns would like to be surprised it works, but aren't because it's All Might.
  • Point of Divergence:
    • For the sake of the Arranged Marriage, Himiko and Mustard follow Izuku into UA and are in the same class as him.
    • Because Pony and her mother work for the Green Valley Clan, Pony ends up in 1-A with Izuku as one of his bodyguards.
    • Because David is trying to get Izuku and Melissa together, he transfers Melissa into UA for her high school years.
    • Because All Might realises he needs help to train Izuku, he, with Nedzu's help, brings in Gran Torino as a Teaching Assistant for the First Years.
    • Ojiro and Manga do not make it into the Hero Course due to greater competition, and instead are in the General Course.
    • Koda is in class 1-B instead of 1-A.
    • Because Izuku asks All Might about the HPSC possibly having an assassin, All Might asks Nezu to look into it. It leads to Nezu discovering the truth about Lady Nagant's murders and how the HPSC ordered them, which leads to him browbeating them to release her or face public outrage over them forcing a young heroine to be their assassin. Nagant is then released and becomes part of UA's security.
    • Because of the extra training he's been getting, Izuku develops Full Cowl before the Sports Festival. It allows him to outright win the Sports Festival.
    • Because kids he trained are taking part in the Sports Festival, Stain gets distracted watching it while trying to kill Ingenium. This allows Ingenium to escape permanent injuries and Stain is forced to call All for One for help getting out of the resulting mess when Ingenium manages to bring in backup in spite of knowing he'll owe the man a favor for it.
    • All for One going on vacation results in him derailing the plot of World Heroes' Mission, which results in him recruiting a large portion of Humarise's forces and forcibly recruiting Rody.
  • Porn Stash: All for One is perfectly aware of Tomura's sexual preferences thanks to his "Homework" folder.
  • Propaganda Hero: After Internship Week where Izuku gets catapulted to national fame, the HPSC capitalise on it and give Izuku a provisional Hero licence as a publicity stunt.
  • Put on a Bus: All for One decides to go on a vacation after being so stressed from learning his future son-in-law is the wielder of One for All that he had a heart attack. He comes back after Internship Week.
  • Related in the Adaptation:
    • The Green Valley Clan has several branches. Izuku turns out to be related to Yuyu Haya, Konako Haizono, Maguma Iwata, Yo Shindo, Curator (now named Isana Shindo), David and Melissa Shield, and Lady Nagant.
    • Pony is Cow Lady's daughter in this story.
    • Hina from the Vigilantes spin-off and Komori are sisters. It causes problems for Komori since it's difficult to be a hero if you're the sister of a villain, however minor.
    • Inko is Nana's daughter, which also means Izuku and Tomura are cousins.
    • Mustard is Camie's younger brother.
  • Relationship Upgrade: Masutaro and Hagakure get together in Chapter 39 after the latter directly asks the former to be her boyfriend.
  • The Reveal:
    • Chapter 64 reveals that Tatami Nakagame is an agent for the HPSC tasked with rooting out Villain infiltrators into the Hero ranks. It also reveals she's covering for the Green Valley Clan due to falling in love with Shindo.
    • Chapter 65 reveals Uwabami was a member of Inko's gang.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: All Might comes to the correct conclusion that he needs to do more to make sure Izuku is trained properly from misinterpreting Izuku's conversation with Pony about a man who didn't do enough to teach him as being about him instead of Hisashi.
  • Running Gag: Izuku has a habit of collecting hero merchandise in inappropriate ways. He reflexively stole All Might's signature right out of a contract, picked up a notice that Aizawa discarded right in the middle of class just because it had Nedzu's signature, and stole All Might brand energy drinks that were supposed to be prizes in the Sports Festival.
  • Samaritan Relationship Starter: Izuku saying Himiko's "villainous" Quirk is great and wonderful is the tipping point that causes Himiko to genuinely fall for him.
  • Secret Test of Character: Like canon, the UA Entrance Exams has a secret rescue points part to it. Unlike canon, Izuku realises there is a hidden trick to the exam during it instead of when he gets his results because of what he learned from Stendhal.
  • Selective Obliviousness: Izuku has all the details he needs to realise his mother was once a feared criminal, but he represses the very idea hard.
  • Serial Escalation: After Kaina gives Izuku romantic advice, other people seek her out for advice on their own romances. It slowly escalates over the course of a week until it culminates with Tomura Shigaraki asking her for help.
  • Share the Male Pain: Izuku winces when Setsuna punches Overhaul in the balls.
  • Ship Tease: In a side story, Mustard gets several moments with Hana, Mei, and Hagakure.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • Inko is very much supportive of Izuku's and Himiko's relationship for its own sake, regardless of the other considerations that went into the Arranged Marriage.
    • Several of the deceased One for All wielders are invested in Izuku's and Himiko's relationship, even the third who doesn't want to admit it.
    • Mina loves shipping different people together. It doesn't matter who they are. If it's a reasonable possibility, she's going to ship it.
    • A large portion of the hero community ships some combination of the quartet of Katsuki, Momo, Kyouka, and Tsuyu, down to having Ship-to-Ship Combat for their favourite ships.
  • Shout-Out:
    • There is a Hero School in the US called Kent-Wayne High, which bears the last names of Superman and Batman.
    • Dark Shadow describes his capabilities almost exactly like Genie from Aladdin does. He has "Phenomenal shadow power" and "Itty bitty living space".
  • Side Bet: There is a betting pool on what set of relationships will come out of the group of Bakugou, Tsuyu, Momo, and Jirou that most of the Top 1000 Heroes have a stake in.
  • Sneeze Cut:
    • When the Green Valley Clan talks about a cousin who became a HPSC assassin before being thrown in Tartarus, Lady Nagant sneezes. Apparently, it happens often enough that Nagant can distinguish between the sneezes to tell who is talking about her, and that in this case, she knows it's her cousins.
    • When Momo thinks about finding love at UA and that whoever it is, they will be a "good, positive, and honest person", Jiro (a Yakuza member), Katsuki (an asshole in general) and Tsuyu (joins the Yakuza after the USJ incident) all sneeze.
    • Played with with Mustard. Yo Shindo asks what kind of boyfriend wouldn't tell their significant other they're a Yakuza, and the scene changes to Mustard feeling the urge to sneeze.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Mineta asks Kaina why he isn't popular. She suggests that he stop perving on girls. Mineta is stunned by the simplicity of the advice.
  • Suddenly Shouting: After learning Izuku is a Yakuza Heir, Yoichi calmly takes a roll call and after confirming every vestige is present, immediately shouts at All Might's vestige for picking a Yakuza Heir.
  • Sunk Cost Fallacy: Endeavour can't bring himself to fix his domestic situation and stop pushing Shouto so hard because he feels that if he fails to turn Shouto into the Number One Hero, every bad thing he did would have been for nothing.
  • Sure, Let's Go with That:
    • Hiryu Rin makes a lot of assumptions about Izuku's plans (which are completely non-existent), that Izuku rolls with to avoid problems for both himself and the Green Valley Clan. Izuku doubles down on Hiryu's assumptions and uses it as the basis of his argument to convince the clan to not kill Lady Nagant after she is released.
    • When All Might thinks Izuku was talking about him not preparing him enough to take up his legacy when Izuku was actually talking about his father not preparing him enough to be a Yakuza heir, Izuku goes with it for several reasons. First, he does not want to admit he is a Yakuza heir. Second, the measures All Might is taking to prepare him better for being a successor to his legacy is something that actually needs to be done.
    • Izuku ends up on the other side of this when he discovers Tomura has created a fake hero agency. He assumes that Tomura plans on selling information on the Green Valley clan to heroes to disrupt their operation. Tomura had absolutely no plan and was just winging it.
  • Tempting Fate:
    • After learning Himiko is sucking blood out of a handkerchief, All for One remarks things can't get worse. Compress then accidentally runs over Stain and the crash causes her to choke on the handkerchief.
    • Izuku is glad Melissa and Hana don't go to UA so their fathers will find it difficult to try and set them up with him. Cue their fathers arranging their daughters' transfers into UA.
    • Daigoro thinks mass-Villain attacks are unlikely, with the USJ incident being a one-time thing. And then, the League of Villains launch another mass-Villain attack. This time, it's all across Japan. The other vestiges are upset with Daigoro for tempting fate that way.
    • Rody Soul ignores every sign things will go wrong and thinks his day will turn out just fine. The result is that he gets roped into being All for One's indentured servant, forced to go on an insane adventure with him, and by the end of it, is labelled a high-ranking villain due to the authorities, not unreasonably, believing him to be associated with All for One.
    • Izuku takes a short nap wondering what could possibly happen in hours. His request for help getting information on the Shie Hassakai escalating to include multiple top ten Heroes and the Meta Liberation Army and the HPSC's personal interest is what happens.
  • Too Desperate to Be Picky: For the Arranged Marriage with the Green Valley Clan, All for One needed someone with specific criteria. They had to be a teenage girl in the right age range to be set up with Izuku, they had to be a villain, and they had to be available for adoption. Himiko is the only one Giran found who meets these criteria, so he has no choice but to pick the "blood-obsessed lunatic".
  • Trauma Button: Because of his experience with an assassin from the Green Valley Clan, All Might has a reflexive fear of the yakuza, to the point the word "yakuza" is enough to cause him to panic. It's so bad that even an Imagine Spot of the man has him panicking from hearing the word.
  • Troll:
    • The only way to describe All For One's idea to make Himiko's new civilian identity while attending UA "Himiko Shimura", complete with using a Quirk to change her hair and eye colors to match Nana's and making any DNA testing a convoluted mess to unravel.
    • During the mass villain attack, Stain had orders from Shigaraki to destroy a fake Hero's agency. Stain went and destroyed his.
    • Nedzu sends Lady Nagant as Izuku's chaperone to a HPSC event specifically to mess with the HPSC.
