  • The Leader: For Agwin High's Turf War team.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Instead of forcing people to continue fighting a losing battle, he makes sure to call off the fights for his team if it's made obvious that his teammates are outmatched by their opponent.

  • Animal-Themed Superbeing: Her ability is named after an arachnid that can summon six huge legs resembling a spider.
  • The Ace: The strongest of Agwin High School's Turf War team, and quite possibly Agwin High overall given that she's their "Queen."

  • Power Level: 4.9 Elite-tier.
  • Powers Do the Fighting: She primarily just stands around while letting the Spider Limbs that appear from her back do the fighting.

  • Crush Blush: He has this whenever he thinks of Remi.
  • Distressed Dude: Grayson's vigilante mission in the Portsville district went wrong to the point that he was forced to go on the run only to get surrounded by many thugs. He probably would have died there had the Remi/Blyke/Isen/Kuyo team not arrived in time to rescue him.
  • Fanboy: He becomes this towards the Remi/Blyke/Isen/Kuyo hero group after being impressed by their superhero efforts when they rescued him during the Portsville mission, which results in Grayson wanting to join their team.
  • Hypocrite: Grayson points out that his money could get Remi's hero group better superhero costumes. This only ends up pissing Remi's hero group off a bit given that Grayson's starting Cheap Costume wasn't much better. This could be a result of Untitled's influence rather than his wealth.
  • I Kiss Your Hand: Goes for this when he tries to hit on Remi. However, she rejects him by pulling her hand away before the hand kiss happens.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Some of his remarks accidently offend people, especially Isen and Blyke.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: At first, Grayson just joins up with Remi's hero group to help with their superhero vigilantism. It's not until chapter 334 that Remi and company reveal to Grayson that they're going after the Bureau due to the government being the creators of EMBER.

  • Super-Speed: He is shown to use his ability to increase his speed.

Especially since Grayson's only at a 3.7 Power Level. In return, Grayson offers to be their money benefactor for new costumes and such as it turns out that his family's rich. The first thing he provides for Remi's hero group is a very nice apartment suite that can act as their home base.

    Melody

Melody

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/unordinarymelody.jpg

A student of Agwin High who looks down on superheroes.

  • Color-Coded Characters: Bubblegum Pink.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/unordinaryzirian.jpg
Power Level: 3.7
Superpower: Crescent Slash note

The "King" of New Bostin during John's time at the school. Zirian eventually loses his King status, but then goes along with Claire's plan to dispose of the new tyrant King's rule.
  • Color-Coded Characters: Blue.
  • Hand Blast: His Crescent Slash ability. Zirian can fire multiple crescent moon shaped energy projectiles towards whatever he's aiming at.
  • Jerkass: Not exactly a kind person. The way he handled John's anger tendencies wasn't exactly the greatest. Calling John a weakling who doesn't deserve to have an easy ticket to the top was definitely not the brightest idea.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While he doesn't come off as the most pleasant person, he was right to call out John for being nothing more than an angry, petty, little brat who's just seeking out fights for self-gratification.
  • The Leader: Was the strongest at New Bostin before eventually losing his King status to John. Even after John took over, many still preferred to be ruled by Zirian given that he was nowhere near as bad as the former.
  • Long-Range Fighter: When uses his power, he remains a fair distance away when firing his Crescent Slashes.
  • Playing Card Motifs: Ruled as New Boston's "King" before John beat him and took over the role. In all likelihood, Zirian got the title back after John's expulsion from the school.
  • Power Level: 3.7 Elite-tier.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Dishes this out twice.
    • He calls out John for being a petty self-caring angry kid who just wants to beat people up.
    • He calls out Claire as a disgusting person who will ditch her current friendships if it means she finds something better, and as a result, states that her and John were perfect for one another as power-hungry snakes. He also adds that the only reason he's going along with the plan to dispose of John's rulership is because of John's tyranny.
  • This Cannot Be!: Zirian is left stunned in disbelief when he realizes during another duel with John that the latter has caught up to the former in power; resulting in Zirian's loss, and John becoming the new King of New Bostin.

    Claire (Unmarked Spoilers

Claire

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/unordinaryclaire_6.jpg
Power Level: 2.3
Superpower: Clairvoyance note

John's former friend that played a huge part in John's life when he used to attend New Bostin. Claire befriended John during middle school and helped with the development of his power alongside their other friend, Adrion. However, she and John start to have a falling out once it became clear to her that John was becoming more of an ass the stronger he became. Eventually, Claire finally has enough and decides to turn their class against him to end his tyrant rule, which results in John's expulsion from the school after beating up a majority of the class.

In the current day, Claire and John appear to no longer be in contact. However, she appears to have befriended Sera after the latter called up Claire to learn more about John.
  • Blessed with Suck: Claire's ability is "Clairvoyance", which she cannot activate herself unlike almost every other ability shown, and which she hates because she feels like every time she tries to act on or share her visions everything goes horribly wrong.
  • The Chessmaster: Her ability allows her to see into the future, which leads to her seeing that John would have the power to take over as New Bostin's "King", but would later be defeated by another of their students named Jack. As a result, Claire went about to put this plan in motion by "befriending" John before anyone else could, but also rounded up students surrounding Jack to finally take down John. However, she wasn't able to take into account that John was too strong to overcome in the end. The truth of the matter turns out to be quite different.
  • Color-Coded Characters: Green.
  • "Dear John" Letter: Justified. She tells him to go to the field, in order to end his tyrannical rule over New Bostin.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: When Sera first calls her, Claire initially assumes that she's a telemarketer and hangs up. When Sera calls again and explains that she wants to talk about John, Claire then assumes that Sera is John's new girlfriend calling to tell her to stay away from him.
  • Enemy Mine: She's able to convince Zirian to go along with her plan of disposing of John's rulership only because Zirian admits that John's tyrant rule hasn't been good for anyone.
  • Everyone Has Standards: At first, she was just as happy as John was to see him finally beat up the students who had been bullying them throughout middle school, but as John became more and more cruel towards other students, she eventually became disgusted with him.
  • False Friend: She acts as John's Only Friend when in actuality, she was turning the class against him. Except it's eventually revealed that she genuinely was his friend at first, but that changed after John became a tyrant.
  • Foil: To Seraphina, as both serve as John's closest female friend at different points in his life. However, Claire is the catalyst for John's initial descent into cruelty and ultimately cuts ties with him after repeated failures to get through to him; conversely, Sera is the one to finally reach John and put him on the right path.
    • Claire's hair color is the opposite of Sera's, symbolizing how they represent opposite parts of John's life.
  • Girlish Pigtails: She used to sport this when John was in New Bostin High School. After this, she changed into a bob hair.
  • Important Haircut: After John got expelled from New Bostin High, she changed her hairstyle into short wavy hair to symbolize moving away from him.
  • My Greatest Failure: She admits to Sera that her biggest mistake was helping John learn how to use his ability, which led to him becoming a tyrant.
  • Power Incontinence: Unlike most characters, she has no real control over her ability and her visions come randomly.
  • Power Level: 2.3 Mid-tier.
  • Power Trio: In middle school and at New Bostin, she, John, and Adrion were the three friends that hung out with one another. However, John eventually falls out of his friendship with the two of them due to his anger.
  • The Reason You Suck: Claire gives one to John after the latter beat up half their class in a curbstomp battle, and calls him a monster for not realizing what he's become by turning himself into the school's tyrant "King."
  • Seers: Her ability allows her to see into the future, although she isn't always able to get context for what she sees.
  • This Is Unforgivable!: Claire was John's friend for two years, helped him develop his ability, and did the best she could to talk sense into him during his time as the tyrant of New Bostin. In return, John talked down to her, beat her senseless along with half the class, and thought of himself as the victim right up to his expulsion. When Claire reappears in the story, she makes it clear that she would be very happy to never talk to John again.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: In middle school and at New Bostin, Claire was the one girl to John and Adrion's two guys.
  • Unhappy Medium: She doesn't like her power after seeing the result when she tries to help John.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: In the beginning, she really did just want to help John feel better by helping him realize his potential. She had no way of knowing how he would turn out.
    • When John approaches her again during his suspension from Wellston to apologize to her, she gets another vision of John meeting a white-haired man in a dark house, but refuses to tell John about it out of fear of History Repeats. The irony: that meeting is implied to be him meeting his uncle Cameron after William's death.
  • Walking Spoiler: Knowing about Claire's story gives away a lot about John's mysterious past.
  • We Used to Be Friends: When Sera finally gets in contact with her, she admits that she and John really were friends at first. By the time the story takes place, she hasn't spoken to John since he was expelled from New Bostin and has no desire to speak to him again.

  • Color-Coded Characters: Light Yellow.
  • Childhood Friends: John and Adrian met each other when they were young.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Even though he was the one who stuck by John even after he became a violent tyrant, he winds up being the one to call the authorities after Claire calls out John for becoming a monster and beating up all their classmates, which gets John expelled from New Bostin.
  • Nervous Wreck: He's shown to be incredibly nervous trying to warn John that Claire had been scheming behind his back the entire time.
    • Later, when John returns to New Bostin, he is understandably (and justifiably) nervous to see his old friend again.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: John beats Adrion up refusing to believe his accusations of Claire having been working behind the scenes to one day screw him over.
  • Power Trio: In middle school and at New Bostin, he, Claire, and John were the three friends who hung out with one another. However, John eventually falls out of his friendship with the two of them due to his anger.

  • Color-Coded Characters: Purple.

  • No Name Given: Seen first in Chapter 23, but not named until Chapter 181.
