    Setsu Sakamata
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_setsu.jpg

Ordinary high school girl and protagonist of the series. Her mission to become brother Itami's girlfriend by defeating all the other Oddmen kicks off the plot of the series.

  • Acquired Poison Immunity: She eventually builds up a tolerance to Fujou's toxic odor, allowing her to be around Fujou with no ill effects.
  • Anime Hair: Her hair appears to be made up of solid strips. Chouko eventually points out how weird it is.
  • Conditional Powers: She has a pretty powerful Healing Factor, but it only kicks in when she's at Comic Zin, her favorite manga store.
  • Covert Pervert: She's not a Lovable Sex Maniac like some of the others, but occasionally her own perversions will shine through (for example, she's really into Shiraishi's various fetishy outfits).
  • Even the Girls Want Her: A good chunk of the Oddmen have fallen for her over the course of the series, even if they're normally straight.
  • Good Thing You Can Heal: Her Healing Factor means that she gets injured frequently, up to and including decapitation.
  • Healing Factor: An unusual example. She can heal from the most grievous injuries, but only while she's inside her favorite manga shop. She can even recover from having her head bitten off.
  • Heroic BSoD: Just barely surviving her encounter with Seigi scares her into an Angst Coma, deciding that she'd rather remain in her own head as an excuse to not try again.
  • Magnetic Hero: She not only befriends each Oddman she defeats, a lot of Oddmen who would never normally associate with each other end up being more friendly with each other as a result of her actions.
  • Nice Girl: While her mission starts out so that she can go out with Itami, she seems more and more interested over time in befriending the other Oddmen.
  • Off with Her Head!: Courtesy of Seigi. Thankfully, she gets better.
  • Single-Target Sexuality: Despite being surrounded by girls eager to get in her skirt, she's actively avoided any attempts and is solely interested in brother Itami.
  • The Team Normal: The only main character who's not an Oddman. though her Healing Factor suggests that she's not quite a normal human being herself.

    Wan Inuta
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_inuta.jpg
Strength: 1/5
Intelligence: 1/5
Defense: 1/5
Friendliness: 2/5
Affection for Setsu: 1/5
Oddman 1, "The Dog". The first Oddman that Setsu defeats. Her Oddman quirk is being an anthropomorphic dog, complete with canine instincts.

  • Achievements in Ignorance: At one point she performed a saxophone solo so high pitched that only dogs can hear it without even realizing it.
  • Beast Man: An anthropomorphic dog.
  • Fan Disservice: She has six nipples going down her abdomen like a normal dog would, and makes no effort to hide the bottom four.
  • Insufferable Genius: Subverted. She has the attitude, but when she challenges Setsu to see who can get a better exam score, she loses by a wide margin.
  • My Instincts Are Showing: Frequently ends up acting like a dog, whether it's trying to lap up a canned drink, or taking a dump out in public.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Unlike the other animal-themed Oddmen, who are a Little Bit Beastly, she's a full-on Beast Woman.
  • Out of Focus: When Setsu gives her Valentine chocolates, she lampshades they barely talked during the story. In fact, she has the lowest score in Setsu's affection point, together with Brother Itami.
  • Punny Name: "Inu" is the Japanese word for dog, and "wan" is a Japanese onomatopoeia for a dog barking.
  • Reused Character Design: She's more or less a character lifted from one of Dowman Sayman's previous works, Inuta-san, an anthropomorphic dog girl who goes to school.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: Subverted. Despite wearing glasses, and even confidently challenging Setsu to see who can get a better exam score, she's actually The Ditz and fails miserably.
  • Wardrobe Malfunction: Happens frequently due to her extra nipples. It gets worse when she wears a bikini made for a normal human.

    Sister Itami
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_sisteritami.jpg
Strength: 4/5
Intelligence: 2/5
Defense: 1/5
Friendliness: 5/5
Affection for Setsu: 5/5
Oddman 2, "The Sadist". Controlling older sister to brother Itami, and is currently Setsu's fated final battle to become brother Itami's girlfriend.

  • Ambiguous Situation: It's unknown what caused her Journey to the Center of the Mind after touching a comatose Setsu. She doesn't know what caused it, but suggests that she's always had an uncanny ability to pick up the pain of others. Whether this means Itami caused it or it was some unknown ability of Setsu's is debatable.
  • Big Bad: Played up to be the Final Boss of the series, as she's Itami's current girlfriend.
  • Big Brother Bully: Her sadism towards her younger brother reaches outright abusive levels.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: Currently in a sadomasochistic relationship with her own brother.
  • The Dreaded: The other Oddmen are intimidated by her. It's pretty telling that even though Nuida could easily crack her skull open and take brother Itami back, she chooses not to deal with her.
  • Fetishized Abuser: She forced every Oddman that Itami dated to break up with him because she wants him all to herself, and regularly abuses him. However, seeing the kind of person Itami is, they're strangely perfect for each other.
  • Forced into Evil: Her sadism is yet another Oddman compulsion. She's incapable of showing love to people without torturing them.
  • Half-Identical Twins: She's technically the older sister.
  • Hidden Depths: She's the one who brings Setsu out of her coma after her encounter with Seigi, and the Journey to the Center of the Mind that precedes it reveals that she loves Setsu even more than her own brother, but she's incapable of showing love without her sadistic tendencies shining through.
  • Soft-Spoken Sadist: She maintains a serene demeanor all throughout the series, even if she's tormenting others.

Strength: 1/5
Intelligence: 2/5

Oddman 3, "The Masochist". Younger brother to sister Itami, and Setsu's ultimate goal.

    Tatari Norojima
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_tatari.jpg
Strength: 3/5
Intelligence: 3/5
Defense: 2/5
Friendliness: 2/5
Affection for Setsu: 3/5
Oddman 4, "The Collector". An early graduate and Cyclops, and good friends with Ika-chan.

  • Collector of the Strange: Her Oddman compulsion. Her collection includes things like Stalin's skull, Osamu Tezuka's beret, a first edition copy of Marquis de Sade's Julliete, and a limited edition Homura figure. It's even implied that the Fetch Quest she sends Setsu on as her challenge is to add to her collection.
  • Cool Big Sis: She's roughly the same age as everyone else, but due to having already graduated and gotten a job she comes off as this.
  • Cyclops: Her unique physical quirk. Her single eye can even turn people to stone.
  • Friendly Enemies: Setsu technically hasn't defeated her yet, but that hasn't stopped them from being on friendly terms from the beginning.
  • Grade Skipper: The only Oddman who's not a high school student, as she's skipped enough grades that she's already graduated.
  • Magical Eye: Her gaze turns people to stone.
  • Mangaka: Writes a 4koma manga in the local newspaper. She also writes yaoi doujins for Comiket.
  • Reused Character Design: She's more or less a character lifted from one of Dowman Sayman's previous works, Nickelodeon, Collector of the Strange tendencies and all.
  • Taken for Granite: Her gaze turns people to stone for 3 days unless she's wearing a special contact lens.

    Shiraishi Kirara
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_shiraishi.jpg
Strength: 1/5
Intelligence: 5/5
Defense: 1/5
Friendliness: 1/5
Affection for Setsu: 5/5
Oddman 5, "The Slut". A Cat Girl, and Setsu's earliest ally and first love interest (besides brother Itami).

  • Cosplay Otaku Girl: Most of her casual outfits are stock cosplay outfits, such as a Naughty Nurse Outfit or a Sexy Stewardess uniform.
  • Embarrassing First Name: She threatens Fujou and Setsu when they call her Kirara, though she eventually comes around to it if it's Setsu.
  • Hidden Depths: She's actually a lot smarter than she lets on, having really good grades. In her own words: "I'm smart, and I'm slutty!" Unfortunately, this doesn't translate to being able to tutor Setsu for her duel with Inuta, as she gets quickly sidetracked by porno movies.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Fits this trope so much that it's her Oddman trait.
  • Really Gets Around: Averted. Despite her title, she's very much a monogamous person. Said title has more to do with the fact that she's compelled to do anything her partner wants of her, no matter how depraved.
  • Serious Business: She has very, very passionate opinions on porno movies.
  • Token Good Teammate: She's the only Oddman that Setsu never needs to defeat, simply joining her side when she challenges Inuta.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: She lost her virginity when she was 11. While playing Drakengard, no less.

    Senri Agape
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddsenri.PNG
Strength: 0/5
Intelligence: 0/5
Defense: 0/5
Friendliness: 0/5
Affection for Setsu: 0/5
Oddman 6, "The Mandragora". She's a plant girl and the last Oddman Setsu meets.
  • And I Must Scream: She has difficulty moving, since she's, well....a plant.
  • Bizarre Taste in Food: Likes eating human excrement and urine. No wonder Brother Itami and Chouko used to hang around her.
  • The Faceless: She's casually mentioned at the end of the manga but never makes an appearance. When she finally appears, she can only show her face, since her body is under soil.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: She trusted Chouko of all people to plant her in a confortable location. She just planted Senri in a secluded forest and left her alone.
  • Last Episode, New Character: Senri never makes any appearances in the manga, only in a bonus chapter at the end of Volume 2.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Since she's a mandragora, if someone tries to uproot her, they'll be driven to insanity by her shrieks. This is part of her Oddman compulsion.
  • Older Than They Look: Setsu calls her "senpai", but official artwork of her featuring her whole body shows she's as short as Seigi and Ika-chan.
  • Plant Person: A short, humanoid plant-girl.
  • Put on a Bus: The reason she was absent during the story is that Chouko planted her in a location far away from school and Senri couldn't move away.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: She's extremely dangerous when she's uprooted, as her shrieks can induce people to insanity and even Seigi is unnerved by the mention of her. Unfortunately she needs to be planted on soil to live, which also makes unable to move.

    Kinu Nuida
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_nuida.jpg
Strength: 5/5
Intelligence: 3/5
Defense: 4/5
Friendliness: 1/5
Affection for Setsu: 4/5
Oddman 7, "The Streaker". Life-long nudist and an active rival of Setsu's for a while due to unresolved feelings for brother Itami.

  • Animal-Eared Headband: The hair ribbon that Setsu gives her resembles a pair of rabbit ears.
  • Full-Frontal Assault: Any time she gets into a fight would be this by default.
  • Godiva Hair: Subverted. She's got long hair, but only very rarely does it cover anything up. It doesn't stop "Godiva" from being her In Universe Nick Name.
  • Immune to Bullets: At one point Shiraishi tries to kneecap her with a handgun, only for the bullet to bounce right off.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: Has been a nudist her entire life. The only thing she wears is a hair ribbon that Itami gave her (and after that, a ribbon that Setsu gives her.)
  • In-Universe Nickname: Beyond her title, she's frequently referred to as "Godiva".
  • Made of Iron: Along with having Super-Strength, she's also nearly impervious to damage, up to and including being kneecapped with a handgun. Only Seigi is able to hurt her in any way.
  • Motive Rant: Played for laughs. While beating up Setsu, she rants about how hard it is being a nudist, because she can't carry change, because she doesn't have pockets, which means she can't take a train, which means she's stuck living at the school because it takes too long to travel anywhere by foot.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: She challenges Setsu to a game of table tennis, only to throw the paddle in her face at the earliest opportunity and then beat the living hell out of her. Fortunately, after spending a little more time with her, Setsu's able to challenge her to a second game and get her to play fairly.
  • Psycho Ex-Girlfriend: Unlike the other Oddmen, she clearly hasn't gotten over Itami, and is willing to beat Setsu to a bloody pulp to stop her from getting with him. Fortunately, Setsu is able to win her over eventually and help her move on.
  • The Shut-In: As explained by the above Motive Rant, she lives at the school and isn't able to go anywhere, so when Setsu invites her out to a nearby aquarium she's utterly surprised by everything she sees (even the ticket machine for the train).
  • Significant Wardrobe Shift: As much as she can qualify for this trope. After Setsu defeats her and takes her hair ribbon—apparently the only article of clothing she's able to wear—she replaces it with the ribbon on her school uniform, marking Nuida's official Heel–Face Turn.
  • Super-Strength: Via an absolutely ridiculous contrivance related to her perpetual nudity.
When you feel someone's gaze on your exposed skin, your muscles contract out of nervousness [...] Having been completely naked since I was born, my muscular strength is now far beyond a normal person's.
  • Temporary Bulk Change: When utilizing her Super-Strength, her forearms and hands tend to bulk up into huge Popeye arms.

    Chouko Shizuhata
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_chouko.jpg
Strength: 1/5
Intelligence: 5/5
Defense: 1/5
Friendliness: 2/5
Affection for Setsu: 5/5
Oddman 8, "The Low-Life". The outcast of the Oddmen. Frequently accompanied by Kiko.

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Once Chouko realizes her attraction to Setsu, Setsu quickly realizes why Chouko isn't well-liked by anyone. That said, it doesn't stop Setsu from befriending her and even becoming her girlfriend so she doesn't have to be alone (though Chouko is perfectly aware that Setsu is basically her pity girlfriend).
  • Beady-Eyed Loser: In keeping with her anti-social loser status.
  • The Eeyore: When your special ability is literally being unlikable, it's not surprising to fall into this mindset. She generally sees being an Oddman as a curse.
  • Fangs Are Evil: She has fangs, but they're more prominent than your usual Cute Little Fangs, and she even has underbite fangs on occasion, all of which add to her general offputting-ness.
  • Fingore: Tries to grope Kiko's breasts on more than one occasion. Kiko being a suit of armor, she ends up ripping her fingernails out while doing so.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Even after Setsu wins her over, the other Oddmen try to avoid her due to how creepy she is.
  • Gayngst: Played with in that it's not so much that she's a lesbian, it's that she's a perpetually horny lesbian with No Social Skills.
  • Gonk: Downplayed. She's not outright hideous, but she's effectively what would happen if you took Tomoko from Watamote and gave her horns, a Face of a Thug and a propensity for drooling, Inelegant Blubbering and going wall-eyed.
  • Hated by All: Her Oddman ability turns her into a very literal In-Universe Hate Sink, making her disgustingly repulsive and un-liked by everybody by law of reality, with even Setsu feeling uncomfortable interacting with her. Though despite this, it does nothing to dissuade Setsu from befriending her anyway.
  • Insane Troll Logic: The entire reason she dated brother Itami. She was actually interested in sister Itami, but figured she had no chance with her, and since the Itamis are fraternal twins, she could just stick a wig on the brother and it'd be close enough. Obviously, it didn't work out.
  • Japanese Delinquents: She carries herself like a stereotypical delinquent in her first appearance.
  • Lady Looks Like a Dude: She's scrawny, has beady eyes and very un-feminine mannerisms. Her clothes and long hair are the only indicators that she's a girl.
  • Loners Are Freaks: Not that it's entirely her fault, though. She's such a loner that she lives in the old dorm building where nobody else lives, and prefers to sit on the floor of the dining room during lunch where no one can see her.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Subverted. Unlike Shiraishi, her antics are treated as creepy, though somewhat sympathetic due to a general desperation for human contact.
  • No Social Skills: She tends to come off as extremely creepy because of her lack of social skills and having no filter when she speaks.
  • Polyamory: She and Setsu eventually become girlfriends, and after letting Shiraishi and Nuida squirm for a bit, she reveals that she's okay with Setsu going out with other girls as long as her virginity belongs to her alone.

    Yodomi Fujou
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_fujou.jpg
Strength: 1/5
Intelligence: 3/5
Defense: 1/5
Friendliness: 4/5
Affection for Setsu: 5/5
Oddman 9, "The Unclean". Another of Setsu's early defeats, and one of Setsu's main love interests.

  • Hates Baths: When she was a baby, she refused to be baptized, and has never bathed since then.
  • If It's You, It's Okay: She admits that Setsu is the only girl she's interested in.
  • Loners Are Freaks: Due to her hideous BO, she has no friends before Setsu defeats her, and tends to hang out by herself.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Turns into this once Setsu befriends her.
  • The Pig-Pen: Exaggerated to an absurd degree. She's never bathed, brushed her teeth or even wiped herself once in her entire life, to the point that she's a Walking Wasteland who somehow breaks Setsu's nose with her body odor.
  • Progressively Prettier: She starts out with baggy eyes and irises with spiral-y lines in them, along with a Visible Odor to emphasize her general dirtiness. After her Heel–Face Turn, all of these slowly disappear, leaving messy hair as the only physical sign of her lack of hygiene.
  • Shrinking Violet: Her self-consciousness about her own BO caused her to withdraw from everyone, rarely speaking up. It's not until Setsu befriends her that she begins to open up again.
  • Unkempt Beauty: Despite being a Walking Wasteland with hazardous body odor, she only looks mildly disheveled.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: She's the one who tells Seigi about the other Oddmen's squabbles over Setsu in the hopes that she'd do something about it, unaware that that "something" would be to try and kill Setsu.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Setsu deduces that since she's exposed to her own BO 24/7, clean air must be intolerable to her. She's somehow right, as shoving a gas mask onto her face and forcing her to breathe filtered air causes her to cough up blood.

    Ika-chan
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_ikachan.jpg
Strength: 5/5
Intelligence: 1/5
Defense: 4/5
Friendliness: 2/5
Affection for Setsu: 3/5
Oddman 10, "The Deep One".

  • Alien Hair: Her Girlish Pigtails are actually a pair of prehensile tentacles.
  • Early Installment Character-Design Difference: Her first appearance as a Sinister Silhouette is noticeably different from her finalized character design, with a large point on the top of her head to more resemble a squid. This is even lampshaded soon after her reveal.
  • Expy: Parts of her design obviously take after a certain other squid girl.
  • Extra Eyes: She has two googly eyes attached to her hair which, combined with the tentacle hair, makes her look like she has an octopus attached to her head.
  • I'm a Humanitarian: She has no problem eating squid.
  • Lovecraft Lite: Her title is clearly supposed to evoke the Cthulhu Mythos, but she's also one of the friendliest of the Oddmen.
  • Only Known By Her Nickname: She's never referred to by her real name. Even in Chapter 26, where most characters' full names are revealed, she's only referred by as Ika-chan.
  • Seashell Bra: When naked, she appears to have a pair of starfish latched onto her chest.
  • Serious Business: She has a ton of reverence for killer whales, to the point that she wants to either marry or be adopted by Setsu so that she can inherit her last name Sakamata (which means "killer whale" in Japanese).
  • Shapeshifting: She can turn her arms into tentacles, and the ends of her tentacles can sprout mouths to eat things.
  • Sinister Silhouettes: Her first few appearances are like this. Once she's actually shown, however, she's far less sinister.
  • Weakened by the Light: She can't stand to be out in the sun for very long. At one point she stays in the sun for so long that she starts cooking alive.

    Seigi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_seigi.jpg
Strength: Off the scale
Intelligence: 0/5
Defense: 5/5
Friendliness: 5/5
Affection for Setsu: 4/5
Oddman 11, with a currently unrevealed title.

  • Creepy Child: She's apparently about middle-school age, but is willing to kill Setsu to stop the other Oddmen from bickering with each other. And that's not even getting into her shapeshifted form.
  • The Dreaded: Even Nuida believes she doesn't stand a chance against her. The one time they do fight, Nuida ends up in the hospital.
  • Expy: Of Rawberry Preserves from The Gray Garden, a pink haired Humanoid Abomination with murderous tendencies and a voracious appetite.
  • Extreme Omnivore: She eats anything. Anything.
  • Eyes Out of Sight: Her bangs cover up not only her eyes, but even her nose.
  • Humanoid Abomination: It's unknown if it's the result of Shapeshifting or if she's simply revealing her true form, but her entire upper half takes on a very unsettling, alien appearance just before she bites Setsu's head off. Later, she's shown with a Lamprey Mouth that takes up almost all of her visible face.
  • Knight of Cerebus: One chapter after she's introduced, she tries to kill Setsu and very nearly succeeds, putting her in a coma and making her seriously question her mission.
  • No-Nonsense Nemesis: As soon as she realizes who Setsu is, she wastes no time in transforming and biting Setsu's head off. It's only due to Inuta, Shiraishi and Nuida just happening to be nearby that she was able to survive.
  • Psycho Ex-Girlfriend: Sister Itami reveals that Seigi's still serious about brother Itami despite their relationship being over, and that her relationship with her brother is "like playing house by comparison."
  • Utility Belt: She wears a rather conspicuous one (complete with a mechanical eye) that she occasionally speaks from when she's in her transformed state.
  • Tentacle Hair: She can use her hair this way. Colored illustrations of her show that her hair is flesh-pink colored and has veins all over it.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: After she hears that Setsu is causing the Oddmen to argue amongst each other, she decides that she needs to kill Setsu even though she's a positive influence on them overall.

    Kiko
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/oddman11_kiko.jpg

A mysterious armor-clad student, and Chouko's girlfriend (and only friend). Despite her unusual appearance, the others insist that she's not actually an Oddman.

  • Animated Armor: Her true nature.
  • Cessation of Existence: Once Chouko makes her first real friend in Setsu, she no longer has any need for an imaginary one like Kiko, so she disappears, leaving only her suit of armor behind.
  • Imaginary Friend: Kiko is an imaginary girlfriend that Chouko somehow managed to bring to life.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: She's happy that Chouko finally makes a real friend, even though it causes her to cease to exist.
  • Satellite Character: Only once does she speak to anyone except Chouko, and the conversation is more or less about Chouko. Makes sense, as she's Chouko's Imaginary Friend.
  • Your Mind Makes It Real: Chouko's extreme loneliness somehow brought Kiko to life as a living suit of armor.
