    Yuta Gamon

Voiced by: Yūki Kaji (Japanese), Erik Kimerer (English)

A NEET high school student who runs a blog called "Kiri Kiri Basara"

  • Agent Scully: He runs a blog dedicated to debunking supposed paranormal activity. His views on the subject change over the course of the story.
  • The Chosen One: Due to various circumstances - him being an Orphan Receptor, his portable radio having been modified to contain a miniature Tesla Coil, and Ryoka having the Wardenclyffe Gun to supercharge him - he can assume enough power to destroy the Odd Eye and break the Society's communication with the spirit realm.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: In the final episode, he passes up his one chance of being resurrected in order to destroy the Odd Eye system.
  • Hero-Worshipper: He admired his father, a radio host who tried to use his program to help people.
  • Human Popsicle: Implied in the ending.
  • NEET: A self-proclaimed NEET god, though it's a dubious claim since he's attending high school and working on a blog for money.
  • Only in It for the Money: He earns money writing about the occult in his blog. This is the only reason he is interested in it.

    Ryoka Narusawa

Voiced by: Ayane Sakura (Japanese), Faye Mata (English)

Yuta's best friend. A energetic girl with enormous boobs who carries a electric gun with her.

  • Boob-Based Gag: Her boobs are absolutely massive and guaranteed to be played for laughs at least twice an episode.
  • Chessmaster Sidekick: She seems like she's barely involved in the plot, but she's actually more knowledgeable about the situation than the other heroes, and she's been working to undermine the Eight Gods of Fortune Society.
  • Demonic Possession: All the while, she is being possessed by the ghost of Nikola Tesla's daughter, Aveline Narusawa Tesla, and has been manipulating events behind the scenes to sabotage the Society of the Eight Gods of Fortune.
  • The Fake Cutie: She acts playful, silly, and hyperactive, but her real personality is actually calm, mature, and intelligent.
  • Genki Girl: You'd be hard-pressed to find a moment where she doesn't smile or have some kind of energy to spare. Later revealed to be all an act.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Actually Aveline, the ghost possessing Ryoka Narusawa sacrifices herself.
  • I See Dead People: Can talk to the visible ghosts and apparently is blissfully unaware of the fact.
  • Mayfly–December Romance: It is implied that Aveline had grown to love Gamotan though she was technically 100 years older than him
  • Mission Control: She is revealed to be Zonko, Yuta's guide.
  • Ms. Fanservice: She has giant breasts complete with Jiggle Physics.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Yuta freaked out after witnessing a Ryota whose personality was completely different from before.
  • Ship Tease: It's implied that her feelings for Yuta are more than just seeing him as her boss. Most notably, when Aveline gives up her Astral Body to restore Yuta after he gets exorcised, she does so by kissing Yuta.

    Sarai Hashigami

Voiced by: Kaito Ishikawa (Japanese), Robbie Daymond (English)

An ultra realist university student.

    Miyu Aikawa

Voiced by: Hitomi Yoshida (Japanese), Kayli Mills (English)

A popular fortune teller who studies in the same school as Yuta and Ryoka.

  • Break the Cutie: Seeing her best friend’s dismembered body inside the kotoribako traumatized her; when the albino boy shows it to her a second time, she completely breaks down.
  • Fortune Teller
  • Traumatic Haircut: She suffers from an unusual example due to the Albino Kid. He pulls her long ponytail out of a kotoribako and reveals that he cut it off of her corpse. This causes her Astral Body to lose its ponytail.

    Toko Sumikaze

Voiced by: Shizuka Itō (Japanese), Erica Lindbeck (English)

A reporter for the occult magazine Mumū

  • Catchphrase: “Ascension!” becomes something like this for her later on.

    Aria Kurenaino

Voiced by: Miyuki Sawashiro (Japanese), Cristina Vee (English)

A black magic proxy girl who places curses on other people.

    Kiryu Kusakabe

Voiced by: Kissho Taniyama (Japanese), Greg Chun (English)

A mysterious individual.

  • Astral Projection: Due to a certain incident in a factory, he is able to separate his soul from his body.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He seems to care for Aria, becoming a sort of replacement for her brother.

    Ririka Nishizono

Voiced by: Mamiko Noto (Japanese), Michelle Ruff (English)

A doujin manga creator with the ability to predict the future.

  • Unexplained Recovery: How she's still alive by the end of the series is never explicitly shown. Other characters found a way to revive themselves by using the full-powered Wardenclyffe Gun, but Ririka never got the chance to use this exact method.

    Shun Moritsuka

Voiced by: Tetsuya Kakihara (Japanese), Max Mittelman (English)

A detective who is also a fan of anime and cosplay.

  • Older Than They Look: He looks like a high schooler, but he has already graduated college and is now working as a detective.
  • Stepford Smiler: Shun seems to be physically unable not to smile all the time. Even after learning about his death.

    Asuna Kisaki

Voiced by: Satomi Akesaka (Japanese), Erika Harlacher (English)

A high school student and FBI Agent who has the ability to view a person's last moments.

  • Action Girl: As an FBI Agent, she definitely qualifies.
  • Animal Motif: Very cat-like: petite, nimble, composed and wears cat paw-shaped gloves to drive the point home.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: She's attached to Moritsuka. The brief flashback shows why: he didn't shun her unlike the others.
  • FBI Agent: of the "weird paranormal investigator" kind. Cooper, Mulder, Jayden, meet the new addition to that weird bunch of yours.
  • Psychometry: Asuna is able to reach for people's memories via their possessions.
  • The Stoic: has a rather flat affect, and her voice only wavers ever so slightly when she's distressed.
  • Younger Than They Look: Asuna's a high school student.

    The Albino Boy

Voiced by: Erica Mendez (English)

A young boy with pale, almost white skin, obsessed with making kotoribako.

  • Creepy Child: With the disturbing smile to prove it.
  • No Name Given: Hence why he’s usually referred to by his skin color.
  • Rules Lawyer: Of the Obnoxious variety. He usually carries out his deeds claiming that, because he’s a minor, he can’t be prosecuted for any crime. While this is technically true under Article 41 of the Japanese Penal Code (minors under the age of fourteen, which he appears to be, can’t be punished for their unlawful behavior), Article 20 states that under certain circumstances, juveniles under the age of twenty can be subject to criminal prosecution; hacking people up and shoving their body parts into boxes sounds like it would qualify as one of those circumstances. The boy doesn’t seem to be aware of this part of the law, however, as he is seen screaming his ‘minor defense’ at the cop arresting him.

    Kouhei Izumi/Izumin

Voiced by: Kenjiro Tsuda (Japanese), Ben Diskin (English)

The manager of the Blue Moon café where Gamon and Ryo-tas usually hang out.
