Teachers and Staff

    Hitomi Manaka
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hitomi_57.png
The school nurse. She only has one eye.
  • Chuunibyou: Hitomi has hints of this, fantasizing about firing lasers from her eye. This is especially apparent when she's drunk.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: A Running Gag involves Hitomi's lack of depth perception.
  • Cyclops: Hitomi went from two eyes to one after puberty.
  • D-Cup Distress: Hitomi is less enthusiastic about her large bust than everyone else.
  • Hospital Hottie: Some students pretend to be sick just so they can ogle the hot nurse.
  • Labcoat of Science and Medicine: Normal workplace attire for a school nurse.
  • Punny Name: Hitomi's surname, Manaka, sounds a lot like monocle, and is also a Japanese word for "eye".note  Hitomi can also be written with the kanji for "pupil" (瞳).
  • Shout-Out: Her name is one letter off from the name of a very busty Japanese porn star.
  • Sweet Tooth: She begs her father to take her back to get dessert after she realizes they left the mall without doing so.

    Ken Tatara
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tatara.png
The science teacher, and a Childhood Friend of Hitomi. He has four arms.
  • Tsundere: In his intro chapter, when Hitomi finds out Itsuki asked him to come and cheer her up, he says "Don't take it the wrong way, okay? I just wanted to see your sad face and make fun of you, alright?"

    Yuki Moji
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/moji.png
The PE teacher, he's close to Hitomi. He is covered in hair.
  • Beast Man: Although what kind of beast he's supposed to be, if any, is unclear. He looks kind of like a chubbier Chewbacca, or a less manic Gritty.
  • Beautiful All Along: He shaves most of his body hair for swim season, leading to everyone finding out he's super muscular underneath.
  • Gentle Giant: Probably the nicest teacher, along with Hitomi.
  • Non-Giving-Up School Guy: A positive portrayal with regard to Tobita. He can't keep up with her when she's flying, but that won't stop him from trying his hardest to get her to attend class and stop smoking.

    Otome Kaminaga
Class 2-D's teacher. She has prehensile hair.

    Midori Itsuki
Hitomi's assistant. They're the product of a bio-engineering experiment to create a humanoid plant rather than a post-puberty human like the other characters.
  • Hospital Hottie: Itsuki wears a "sexy nurse" type of outfit, contrasting with Hitomi's Labcoat of Science and Medicine.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Itsuki has no filter and openly talks about sex and fetishes, often teasing and embarrassing Hitomi. They're never actually seen with a partner, though.
  • Meaningful Name: "Midori" means "green", appropriate for a plant person.
  • Non-Human Non-Binary: Itsuki has No Biological Sex, being a Plant Person, and experimented with hair length as a form of gender presentation before settling on their current androgynous form.
  • Plant Person: An artificially engineered plant who looks like a human. They're shown photosynthesizing a couple of times but otherwise don't have any plant-based powers.

Students

    Nobuko Shitara
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shitara.png
The first student we see Hitomi help. She has a tongue that can stretch over three meters.
  • Overly-Long Tongue: Her puberty change is a tongue that can stretch over three meters, which she's rather self-conscious about.
  • Multipurpose Tongue: One chapter shows her using it to tie a cherry stem into a knot.

    Chisa Osanai
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chisa_0.png
The shortest girl in the school, and not happy about it. Best friends with Kyouko.
  • Meaningful Name: "Osanai" means "young", and "chiisai" means "small".
  • Tiny Tyrannical Girl: She's the shortest in the class, actually shrinking day to day, and she has quite the Height Angst about it. She's rather bossy and blunt, though it's only because she cares so much about her best friend Kyouko (she actually used to be taller than Kyouko before puberty).

    Kyouko Ooki
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kyouko.png
The tallest student in the school, and possibly the tallest character of all. Best friends with Chisa.

    Tomei
An invisible girl.
  • Animal Motifs: Her coming out of her shell is portrayed as a caterpillar metamorphosing into a butterfly, and she themes her personal dance around it.
  • Invisible Streaker: Zig-zagged. She can turn her clothing invisible too, but sometimes it's the only thing that turns invisible. She finds a School Swimsuit tends to stay visible, so she wears one under her clothes.
  • Power Incontinence: She sometimes loses control over her power, usually when she's having strong emotions.
  • Shrinking Violet: She varies between wanting and not wanting to be noticed at all.

    Hanyuu
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hanyuu_3.png
A perverted boy who suddenly grew breasts.
  • Crossdresser: He deals with his new breasts by having his sister help him with clothes and makeup. He's still got a semi-masculine face, though.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Especially after he starts crossdressing to match his new breasts.
  • The Peeping Tom: He tries to use his breasts as an excuse to change in the girls' locker room. As punishment, he has to wear a bucket on his head so he can't see any of the girls in their swimsuits.
  • Second Law of Gender-Bending: After the initial shock, he adapts pretty well to his new body, though he does begin to understand how girls feel when boys ogle them.

    Haruna Tobita

  • Hot for Teacher: She develops an attraction to Moji-sensei after he saves her from crashing, and is jealous when he shaves his body hair for swim class and everyone else realizes he's ripped.
  • Japanese Delinquent: Mostly she just cuts class and smokes, but Moji-sensei tries to get her to stop.
  • Meaningful Name: "Tobita" means "flew".
  • Tsundere: Has shades of this towards Moji-sensei.
  • Winged Humanoid: She has large feathered wings, and uses them to fly away from her responsibilities.

    Fujimi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fujimi.png
A zombie girl.
  • Meaningful Name: "Fujimi" can mean "immortal" or "invulnerable".
  • Pulling Themselves Together: She frequently falls apart, and needs Hitomi or someone else (usually Itsuki, since Hitomi's lack of depth perception makes it hard to thread a needle) to sew her back up.
  • Revenant Zombie: She used to be alive, but died and was brought back.

    Naruki and Kaori Wakatsuki
Conjoined twins.
  • Multiple Head Case: Naruki sprouted a growth that grew into a second, female head on his shoulders. They actually get along swimmingly.
  • Pretty Boy: Naruki is considered very attractive and has noticeably feminine features.
  • Screw Yourself: Naruki is in love with his second head, who looks basically just like a female version of himself.

    Mitsumi Manaka
Hitomi's younger sister. She's student council president of the school they both attend.
  • The Ace: She's cute, smart, mature and is a good cook. Kaminaga describes her as "the image of perfection".
  • Split Personality: She has three personalities depending on how many eyes are open. The "Top" personality (when only her top eye is open), is violent and aggressive. The default "Mitsumi" personality (when the top eye is closed but the other two are open) is kind and gentle. "Mii-chan" (when all three eyes are open) is childish and affectionate.
  • Third Eye: She has a third eye on her forehead. Her personality changes depending on which eyes are open or closed.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: She's far more mature than her older sister, and was able to encourage Hitomi about her lack of cooking ability, at five years old.
"Everyone has things they're good at, and things they're bad at. So why don't you try your best at what you can do?"

    Usui
  • Fourth-Wall Observer: Her transformation into 2D turned her into one, though nobody else believes her, or wants to consider the implications of living in a manga.
  • Meaningful Name: "Usui" means "thin".
  • Paper People: Usui becomes one when Kyouko accidentally falls on her.

     Karen Kiryuuin
The student council vice-president. Has dragon-like features.
  • The Ace: Is very beautiful, a top student, a star athlete, powerful and rich, and the student council vice-president. Her interest in Mitsumi actually started because she's never met anyone else before who managed to outdo her academically or athletically, which initially pissed her off.
  • Buxom Beauty Standard: One of the primary reasons she's considered so beautiful.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: Contrasting with her usually aristocratic, haughty demeanor, she loses her temper very easily and breathes fire when annoyed.
  • Meaningful Name: Includes the Japanese word for "dragon".
  • The Ojou: Her family's rich enough that she lives in a mansion, is driven to school in a luxury vehicle by a valet, another member of the student council is literally her servant, and she used to go to a prestigious all-girls school before.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Has horns growing out of her forehead and reptilian-looking hands and feet and breathes fire when she's angry or upset (her student file reveals that the "fire" is actually a pressurized jet of incandescent, "fire-like", high-temperature gas, which is why it can cause pain but can't actually set things on fire. You might say that she's full of hot air.).
  • Right Red Hand: She's always shown wearing silk gloves, leg-covering stockings and long sleeves, which most people assume is just part of her aristocratic image. In reality, it's because part of her draconic development has caused much of her body to become covered in scales and her hands and feet to turn into talons, which the kids in her middle school made fun of and called gross. After Mitsumi tells her that she thinks her scales are beautiful, she starts being seen with shorter sleeved shirts.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Her anger management issues and temper tantrums got her thrown out of the prestigious all-girls school she used to go to, and her family considers them embarrassing. Just because she's rich doesn't mean she's allowed to go around screaming and threatening to burn people for talking back to her.
  • Tea Is Classy: She's the daughter of a conglomerate, and is frequently seen drinking tea in the student council room.

    Tabe

    Futabayashi
A boy who can perform autotomy — dropping and regrowing limbs. He has a crush on Tabe.

    Sekikawa Mederu
A girl with Medusa-like powers.
