    Ōe Hiroshi

Ōe Hiroshi

The Gamer

The main protagonist of the story, he woke up one day in a differant world suddenly seeing game menus.

  • Best Friend: He's Ranma's.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: As friendly as he is, when you are at threat, the gloves come off and his bat comes out.
  • Boring, but Practical: Most of his perks have the tendency to give simple minor but effective abilities, like + 15% against staggering, or + 10% increase in focus and concentration.
  • Combat Pragmatist: A believer in this, especially when his opponents are clearly more powerful than him. Later he becomes a practitioner of the Saotome style of Anything Goes Martial Arts.
  • Chainsaw Good: He can create rotating mana blades like that of a chainsaw over most surfaces, like his bat.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: It's clear from Hiroshi's inner monologue where his attention is most of the time, but he never brings it up if the situation doesn't call for it and always act respectfull and polite towards women regardless.
  • Cunning Linguist: Hiroshi can speak multiple languages with Japanese and English fluently. But because he learned the rest by absorbing various language manuals, he speaks them like a small child. He's also very good at negotiating, even in languages that he isn't fluet in.
  • Deadly Disc: Hiroshi can shape his manabolt into different shapes, including spinning discs, reminiscent of Krillin's Destructo Disc, to give them cutting power.
  • Delinquent Hair: He has his hair gelled back to supress his now natural Spiky Hair.
  • Genre Savvy: He's able to deduce and even predict events and people's behavior relatively well, if he can figure out what genre is at play.
  • The Gift: Hiroshi has not only a talent for learning magic, but also a passion for it and Gamer powers to augment his already great learning ability.
  • Healing Factor: Hiroshi gets injured like normal instead of Critical Existence Failure. He is able to completely recover in about half an hour and Ranma calls his body freakish afterwards.
  • Hero with Bad Publicity: Only at first after Hiroshi and Ranma skipped classes at the first day of school to hunt a Youkai and gained a reputation as a delinquent. After he starts helping people in the neighborhood, he gains the reputation as a helpful Nice Guy both at school and around nerima in general.
  • In the Blood: Hiroshi's natural charisma, ham, and tendency to gather legally questionable followers of unbreakable loyalty seems inherited from his father, Lord Il Palazzo. Ironically Hiroshi only gained these traits after he became an self insert.
  • Jack of All Trades: Thanks to his Gamer powers, he has gathered numerous of unrelated skills, both combat and non-combat related.
  • Japanese Politeness: Hiroshi has had a very posh upbringing and despite his casual attitude he sometimes can't resist being formal. At other times he uses it to put others at ease in more official situations.
  • Kiai: Hiroshi's personal battle cry is HORA or multiple of them in a general references to JoJo.
  • Kung-Fu Wizard / Magic Knight: He fights using a combination of martial arts and magic. Unlike most other examples he doesn't do things halfway, being both a dedicated student in martial arts and diligent in his magical studies. Combined with his toughness form his Gamer powers he's as far from being a Squishy Wizard as you can get.
  • Nice Guy: he's nice, polite, helpful and makes efforts to clean up the neighborhood through small quests regardless if he gets exp for it.
  • Politeness Judo: Despite his usual casual attitude, Hiroshi can be very formal and polite if he wants to be. Due to his posh upbringing he's pretty adept at using courtesy to put others at ease and get his way.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Hiroshi's Acid Spit comes with the whole package, making it surprizingly usefull instead of a flashy but useless power. His spit distance is enhanced, he takes no damage from using it, it can reliably hit things accurately and leaves his hands free for other things.
  • Secretly Wealthy: Hiroshi is a rich kid from a ridiculously wealthy family, but lives without any support as a Rite of Passage family tradition.
  • Spiky Hair: Hiroshi's hair became permanently spiky after Rin electrocuted him by accident when she lost control. He supresses it with lots of hairgel, accidentally gaining Delinquent Hair.
  • Summon Magic: Hiroshi can summon Cardians after he has defeated them, their strength and the number that he can summon at once depends on his summoning skill.
  • Super Spit: He gets the Acid Spit skill after defeating slime Boss.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: "Japanese Pan" (bread stuffed with different food) is apparently the only thing he eats on the regular. After Ranma asks for all the bread and than that was too much bread, Hiroshi called it heresy.
  • Victor Gains Loser's Powers: He is able to gain powers from or even able to summon certain defeated opponents.

    Saotome Ranma

Saotome Ranma

Cursed martial artist

  • Adaptational Badass: This Ranma starts out exactly as strong as he did in canon, but has had more fights against supernatural opponents and has already learned techniques from other franchises.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Downplayed, while Ranma is as strong as he ever was, the world he lives in operates on a much different powerscale, leaving him on relatively on the lower end for now.
  • Best Friend: He's Hiroshi's.
  • Badass Normal: Downplayed, while he does have a magical curse, he fights several supernatral creatures with only his martial arts skills.
  • Blow You Away: He has a new experimental airbender-like technique.
  • Book Dumb: Subvert. While Ranma seems to be this, he has been consistently attending various schools and properly getting passing grades. Hiroshi also helps Ranma study by shouting lessons at him while sparring, which helps him get even better grades.
  • Combat Pragmatist: A practitioner of Saotome style of Anything Goes Martial Arts and Hiroshi's teacher in it.
  • D-Cup Distress: When he's forced to swap genders in a fight, his large bosom unbalances him and gives his opponent a huge target that hurts a lot when hit.
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: He has no qualms hitting the Heavenly Oni (a much older Nezuko Kamado) and chewing her out for throwing him and Hiroshi in a battle without even asking if they were alright with that.
  • Friendless Background: His father's upbringing prevented him from having more than shallow acquaintances, since he was constantly uprooted and on the road. Meeting Hiroshi changes that.
  • The Gift: Ranma has not only an immense talent for martial arts, but also the passion and drive to be one of the best.
  • Instant Expert: Hiroshi repeatedly notes that Ranma is able to learn at a single glanse and later he masters a advanced technique in less than a single day. He does this without any supernatual talent or magical help.
  • Kung-Fu Clairvoyance: He is able to dodge the final blood golem boss Razor Floss attacks without being able to see them.
  • No Social Skills: Ranma has no social filter, will treat everybody the same and doesn't understand that people are not used to it. It's likely a product of his father's upbringing.
  • Sherlock Scan: Ranma is able to deduce right way to move from fighting styles he isn't familiar with after seeing Hiroshi do them once, correct mistakes in them and do them much better than him.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Like in cannon, Ranma has ailurophobia due to his father's Neko-ken training. It's so bad that even Falion terrifies him.

    Tenou Haruka

Tenou Haruka

Closet Lesbian

  • Adaptational Badass: She decides to become a student at the Tendo Dojo, becoming a martial artist, before the start of Sailor Moon.
  • Adaptational Hairstyle Change: Downplayed, she has longer hair in low ponytail that reaches just below her shoulders. But since she has yet to enter high school, there would be plenty of time for her to get her iconic haircut.
  • Barrier Maiden: If she had died or gotten seriously injured the Sailor Guardians would have been a member short, meaning a real possibility of the end of the world.
  • Empowered Badass Normal: Playing with. It's all but directly stated that she will eventually get her Sailor Uranus powers, but she has started training in martial arts at the Tendo Dojo. So she was always going to have superpowers, but now she knows martial arts before she got them.
  • Transparent Closet: It's obvious that Haruka is a lesbian, but she seems to be in self denial about it.
