Class 1-A

    In General
  • Gender-Equal Ensemble: Unlike canon, there are now an equal number of boys and girls in the class.
  • Loophole Abuse: Because of Izuku, the class as a whole have a tendency towards outside-the-box thinking and will try to exploit, or at least watch out for, any loophole in whatever exercise they're doing. Kirishima pulled one scheme off where he tricked the opposing team into destroying the bomb, resulting in their loss by disqualification. Misaka tried to do one herself by working with the scenario she had of villains having a device that can control a Russian nuclear satellite, but since she said it before the exercise started, All Might quickly blocked that tactic.

    Midoriya Izuku, "Decade"

Midoriya Izuku

Irregular Power: The Gamer

The main protagonist of the story, he woke up one day suddenly seeing game menus.

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: He does not have One for All, or a quirk at all. Instead he has The Gamer. He does become one of the potential candidates to become the next bearer, though.
  • Chick Magnet: The girls of 1-A as a whole agree that he's one of the more attractive boys in their class, with Tsu being such a close friend she's willing to kiss and have sex with him, Ochako almost proposing to him, Ami being in love with him and Mikoto having a minor crush on him.
  • Dissonant Serenity: Gamer's Mind allows him to keep calm in stressful situations. However, it only works in combat situations. For any other situation, he can panic just as much as people without Gamer's Mind.
  • Does Not Like Men: Due to his interactions with people of both genders, he finds himself more comfortable in the company of women.
  • Dragged into Drag: Upon entering Mikoto's dungeon, everyone finds their workout suits transformed into Tokiwadai winter uniforms. Including Izuku.
  • First Kiss: He gets his First Kiss from Tsuyu after he prevents her from dying. He later comments that he's glad he got a kiss from her as otherwise, he'd have to come up with some excuse as to why the kiss from Recovery Girl didn't count.
  • Instant Cosplay Surprise: Mikoto's dungeon dressing them up in Tokiwadai uniforms was a surprise for everyone. But more so for Izuku, since The Gamer/Mikoto's soul didn't even try to give him a male analogue for the uniform.
  • Let's Wait a While: Soon after he saves her, Tsuyu tries to have sex with him to thank him, but Izuku told her that they have to wait, since it's too soon, but is willing to talk about it again after they both make it to UA.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: After seeing Izuku on TV, Eri latches onto him and her mental and emotional state when he and All Might first free her from the yakuza are highly dependent on Izuku's proximity, so U.A. has Izuku sleep with Eri for the first couple of nights afterwards. After the first few days, she improves enough that though saddened that Izuku has to go home, she doesn't break down.
  • No-Sell:
    • Izuku manages to do this to Shinso's Brainwashing thanks to Gamer's Mind, which gives him a 50% chance to resist his quirk. He also gains a resistance to Charms, increasing his ability to No-Sell similar attacks.
    • He can also do this to touch-based Quirks, as he can use his telekinetic armor to block physical attacks. Shigaraki's Decay drains his energy, but Chisaki's Overhaul doesn't put a dent on him.
  • Oblivious to Love:
    • Ami's crush on him is obvious to everyone in their class, except Izuku. Izuku had to be told about it for him to notice.
    • Invoked with Ochako. Izuku acts oblivious when Ochako tries to subtly ask him out on a date because of several reasons, including the fact she did it in front of their teacher and his mother and that he's not sure about his own feelings for her. He later tells Tsu he'll talk with Ochako to clear the air and tell her he's willing to go on a date.
  • Rules Lawyer: He becomes quite the Rules Lawyer while at UA, forcing his teachers to apply Obvious Rule Patch after Obvious Rule Patch to counter his Loophole Abuse. For example, in All Might's class, he works around the intent of the Lions vs Gazelle's exercise by forcing Ashido out when he was supposed to avoid her, forcing All Might to declare her out of bounds and let the match finish that way and making a new rule limiting that tactic for the next round. He does it often enough that seeing another instance of it during the Sports Festival results in Aizawa calling it "...typical Midoriya perpendicular thinking".

    Asui Tsuyu, "Froppy"

Asui Tsuyu

Quirk: Frog

A girl Izuku meets while training his powers, the two become close friends while training together.

  • Harem Seeker: By proxy. She encourages Izuku to at least be open-minded about being in a relationship with several girls at once, telling him that she's not the only one who likes him.
  • Rescue Romance: After Izuku saves her life, she falls for him, to the point of wanting to have sex with him right after she is healed then and there.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Thanks to Izuku, she has learned how to improve her Quirk-based powers and learned martial arts.

    Mizuno Ami, "Mercury"

Mizuno Ami

Quirk: Ice Water

One of Izuku's schoolmates from Aldera, she got encouraged by him to try to become a hero at UA.

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Her water and ice powers are the result of a quirk instead of magic.
  • Open Secret: She thought her crush on Izuku is a secret, but Hagakure points out that the only person in 1-A who doesn't know is Izuku himself.
  • Samaritan Relationship Starter: The reason for her crush on Izuku is that Izuku defended her from Bakugou's accusations that the only reason she had the highest academic grades was that she had an intelligence-boosting quirk.
  • The Smart Guy: She's the smartest student of UA's first years, having the highest score on the written-portion of the Entrance Exam. She's so smart that people thought she had some sort of Intelligence-quirk before she attended UA.

    Uraraka Ochako, "Uravity"

Uraraka Ochako

Quirk: Zero-Gravity

A girl Izuku meets during the UA Entrance Exams.

  • Gold Digger: Played for laughs. Upon seeing how much money she could make dungeon-crawling with Izuku, she almost proposed to him on the spot with her eyes showing the yen symbol and the kanji for money.
  • In Spite of a Nail: In spite of all the changes to canon up to the Entrance Exams, she still needed to be saved by Izuku from the Zero-Pointer.

    Iida Tenya

Iida Tenya

Quirk: Engine

The younger brother of Ingenium and part of a lineage of Pro-Heroes.

  • Demoted to Extra: He never becomes a major character in this adaptation since Izuku does not become friends with him.

    Cassandra Cain, "Spoiler"

Cassandra Cain

Quirk: Silent Grace

The mute daughter of the Vigilante Orphan.

  • Adaptational Superpower Change: Rather than being pure Charles Atlas Superpower, her ability to see attacks coming is a result of a quirk. Similarly, in the comics she initially had no language skills due to the same Training from Hell that gave her said Charles Atlas Superpower, but this version is mute as a side effect of her quirk.
  • Combat Clairvoyance: Her quirk can detect movements within a certain range, which she uses to dodge attacks.
  • Living Lie Detector: She can tell if people are lying through her quirk.
  • Parental Substitute: After only a few months, Cassandra openly tells the Knights that Inko is the closest thing she has ever has to a mother.
  • Reading Lips: She can read lips, and because of her quirk, she doesn't even need to actually see the lips to do it.
  • The Speechless: She is unable to speak as a result of her quirk and communicates through sign language or writing things out.

    Misaka Mikoto, "Railgun"

Misaka Mikoto

Quirk: Electromaster

The second-highest scorer in the UA Entrance Exam.

  • Magnetism Manipulation: Her quirk is partially magnetic, which contributes to her extreme mastery over electricity.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: She's one of the shorter students, but easily one of the most powerful.
  • Signature Move: Her Railgun move is her favourite tactic, to the point of incorporating it into her costume so that she has plenty of ammo available.
  • Tsundere: Tsuyu describes her as being Tsundere towards Izuku.

    Todoroki Shouto

Todoroki Shouto

Quirk: Half-Cold Half-Hot

A recommendation student and Endeavor's son.

  • In Spite of a Nail: He still comes to the conclusion that Izuku is All Might's son, but with a different set of circumstances to back it up.
  • Not So Above It All: As stoic as he is, he joins the other boys in ranking the appearance of their female classmates.

    Toru Hagakure, "InvisaGal

Toru Hagakure

Quirk: Invisibility

One of Izuku's classmates, and surprisingly attractive beneath her invisibility.

  • Beautiful All Along: She's invisible all of the time, so it was a shock to Izuku to see how attractive she is when he used his Clairvoyance skill.
  • Even the Girls Want Her: When Jirou sees what she really looks like, she begins drooling.
  • Power Incontinence: Her invisibility is always on, which Izuku speculates to be because of some sort of mental block preventing her from turning it off. His female friends think she simply doesn't want to turn it off because of the wrong attention boys gave her, but she later confirms she really doesn't know how to turn it off.

    Modura Penryuu

Modura Penryuu

Quirk: Calibur-Z

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mordredsmall.jpg
Mordura in the UA School Swimsuit

A British girl attending UA.

  • Child by Rape: Her main genetic mother had absolutely no knowledge that her eggs were stolen and combined with the thief's eggs to make Modura. When she found out, she was understandably shocked and disgusted that someone she trusted did this.
  • Family of Choice: Though he never formally adopted her (for multiple reasons), Mordred considers Shirou Emiya her dad (as opposed to her father Artoria 'Saber' Pendragon). Mo-chan also considers Rin a parent, but calls her Aunt due Mordred's complicated relationship with the word and concept 'mother'.
  • Fights Like a Normal: Though she prefers telekinetically controlling her swords, if she has to, she can wield a sword normally.
  • Heroic Lineage: Her adoptive father is the deceased hero EMIYA.
  • Homosexual Reproduction: The way she was born involved the use of a Quirk that allowed her to be born from two women.
  • When She Smiles: Her smile causes her to change from "cute but rough to truly beautiful" according to Izuku.

    Yaoyorozu Momo, "Creati"

Yaoyorozu Momo

Quirk: Creation

The vice-representative of 1-A.

  • Ms. Fanservice: Most of the boys agree that she's the most attractive girl in their class.

Class 1-B

    Monoma Neito

Monoma Neito

Quirk: Copy

One of the students of 1-B

  • Break the Haughty: He becomes a lot more subdued after being put on probation for his poor performance in the Sports Festival.

    Shimooka Hikari

Shimooka Hikari

Quirk: Photon Halo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lightbright.jpg
Vector of Hikari in costume from Gamma

A former student of Tokiwadai and now a student in 1-B.

  • Connected All Along: She once knew Mikoto. They were in the same first-year class in Tokiwadai before Hikari dropped out due to trauma related to a friend's death.
  • Flash Step: Her Photon Jump move allows her to travel to any place she can see at almost light-speed.
  • Mythology Gag: When she uses her powers, a glowing ring of light appears around her wrists. Her sister calls them Brighter Rings. In Gamma, her power came from a pair of alien bracelets (essentially a Green Lantern ring expy) that Hikari called Brighter Rings.
  • Necessary Drawback: Her Flash Step move could be highly advantageous in a whole lot of situations, but there's a drawback. It takes time to absorb enough light photons to do the move, so if she's on a time-crunch, she cannot just use the move unless she's sure there's a net gain to using it. According to the girl herself, for any distance less than 150 meters, it's faster for her to just run.
  • Opaque Nerd Glasses: Used to wear them in middle school to help protect her eyes from her powers.
  • She Is All Grown Up: The main reason Mikoto did not recognize her. Hikari used to be shorter than Mikoto, more slender, and wore Nerd Glasses. Now she is none of those things.
  • Super-Senses: She can draw light into her eyes, allowing her to see better in low light or things that are further away.

UA Faculty

    Principal Nezu

Principal Nezu

Quirk: High Spec

The principal of UA.

  • Secret-Keeper: He's the only member of the staff All Might informs about the nature of Izuku's power.
  • Sophisticated as Hell: In his video recording to Overhaul on the probe, he gives a technical explanation of the probe's features before explaining that after the one week provisions run out, Overhaul can use his quirk to turn his collected body waste into something he can consume. Nezu then clarifies that he is telling Overhaul to eat his own shit.

    Toshinori Yagi — All Might

Toshinori Yagi — All Might

Quirk: One For All

The new Heroics teacher at UA.

  • Boxing Lessons for Superman: After he starts dungeon-crawling with Izuku and the others in the know, he starts working on complementing his incredible strength with actual skill. All For One noticed his improved skill when the League of Villains tried to analyse why the USJ operation failed.
  • Secret-Keeper: He's the first of the faculty to learn of the nature of Izuku's power and agrees to keep the secret.

    Shota Aizawa — Eraser Head

Shota Aizawa — Eraser Head

Quirk: Erasure

1-A's homeroom teacher.

  • No-Sell: His quirk can only work on other quirks. It not working on Izuku clued him and the rest of the staff that Izuku's powers were not what they seemed.

    Hizashi Yamada — Present Mic

Hizashi Yamada — Present Mic

Quirk: Voice

One of the Pro-Heroes that teaches at UA.

  • Taking the Heat: He takes the blame and all the brow-beating from Recovery Girl for Nezu going too far with the Zero-Pointer.

    Selene Boenkyodo — Advisory

Selene Boenkyodo — The "Watchful Eye" Heroine Advisory

Quirk: All Vision

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/advisorysmall.jpg
Advisory preparing for the second task of the Sports Festival
Click here to see her first appearance in the MHA anime

A background character from the anime version of USJ Incident and My Hero Academia: Heroes: Rising, in this story the Hero History teacher.

  • Ascended Extra: An anime-only background character, given a name, Quirk, and teaching position here.
  • Blind Weaponmaster: While she might not be a master or blind, Advisory's sight can be hindrance without her visor. So she has trained to fight with her eyes closed when that happens. She is good enough to take out one of the Eight Bullets of the Shie Hassaikai fighting blind.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: The art of her reveals that her sclera (the normally white part) are purple and her pupils are elongated gold rhombuses. Her irises are a normal blue.
  • Lady Looks Like a Dude: Izuku notes that she is frequently mistaken for male due to her short hair, slender build, and preference for pants, but that she just laughs it off.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Both her Hero name and her Quirk name were assigned by this fic. Her real name has not appeared in this story yet, but is revealed in another story by Xavon.
  • Power Incontinence: Wears a visor because her brain cannot handle the amount of information her eyes collect. If she goes without it for too long, she gets terrible headaches.
  • Power Limiter: Her visor limits what she sees; without it, her power gives her headaches.
  • Punny Name: Her Hero name references her Power Limiter Visor, and the fact that she has an information gathering type Quirk.
  • Super-Senses: Her Quirk is called All Vision, and according to Izuku, if that is an exaggeration, it isn't by much.

League of Villains

    Tomura Shigaraki

Tomura Shigaraki

Quirk: Decay

The highest-ranking lieutenant below All for One himself.

  • Broken Pedestal: Downplayed. His faith in All for One is briefly shaken because he thought he lied to him about All Might being weaker when that didn't match what he saw at the USJ. However, All for One manages to calm him down by explaining that it was a miscalculation, not a lie, and that All Might was making up for his decreased power with improved skill.

    Harley Quinn

Dr. Harleen Quinzel -- Harley Quinn

Quirk: Scrubs

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/harley.png
Art by CherryInTheSun, commissioned by author

An American psychiatrist who ended up falling in with the League of Villains when she came to Japan to continue her study of Quirk related psychosis.

  • Adaptational Super Power Change: Has a Quirk, instead of being a normal (or later altered) human.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Her hair is naturally half-red, half-blue, but she used to dye it blonde.
  • Anti-Magic: Her Quirk stops supernatural powers that touch her. And is not limited to other Quirks.
  • Clothing Damage: Her costume is dotted with finger holes from where Shigaraki has touched her. Fortunately for any modesty Harley might have, as soon as he makes contact with her skin, the decay stops, so the gaps aren't that big.
  • Improbable Age: Has two doctorates, but is only 23.

    "Mindy"

??? — "Mindy"

Rank: D

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mindy_1.PNG
Screen cap from the anime

One of the League of Villain's new recruits, she tried challenging Harley's authority but is quickly put in her place.

  • Ascended Extra: Background character from canon USJ Arc whose villain name (Martial Hair) was only given in a side videogame, here she contributes and escapes with the rest of the League.
  • For Want Of A Nail: She escapes capture at the end of the USJ arc and becomes a full-fledged member of the League of Villains after All For One comments she and Stheno were better than most of the Mooks they brought.
  • Mind over Matter: After training with Harley, she learned she could control her hair telekinetically even after they're separated from her.
  • No Name Given: Mindy is just the name Harley gave her. Her real name is unknown and the only clue we have is Stheno mentioning "Cindy" is closer.
  • Prehensile Hair: She can shape her hair into weapons.

    Stheno

??? — Stheno

Quirk: Gorgon Shot

Rank: D

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stheno2_9.png
Screen cap from the anime

An extra in canon, due to Harley's training, Stheno survives Eraserhead's initial attack and contributes to the League's battles in the USJ.

  • Ascended Extra: In canon, she had two lines (for a total of three sentences) and a grunt of pain at the beginning of the USJ. No name. No chance to use her Quirk. Here she survives the initial assault and proves useful to the League when they fight Izuku and company.
  • For Want Of A Nail: She escapes capture at the end of the USJ arc and becomes a full-fledged member of the League of Villains after All For One comments she and Mindy were better than most of the Mooks they brought.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Both her Villain name and her Quirk name were assigned by this fic, as they had not yet been revealed by canon.
  • Taken for Granite: Played with, in that her Quirk only coats people with stone, it does not turn them to stone. Of course, that means they suffocate instead...
  • Took a Level in Badass:
    • Due to Harley's training, Stheno is able to recognize Eraserhead and split off from the rest of the shooters, so that she can't be taken down en masse like them. She also is able to trap Iida with her Quirk, and she matches up with Mina, initially keeping each other locked up.
    • Happens literally, as she gains the ability to aim her hair at two different targets during the attack on the USJ. Izuku recognizes that she subconsciously bought the next Talent in her Quirk's talent tree.

Civilians

    Midoriya Inko, "Guild Mom"

Midoriya Inko

Quirk: Gravity Pull

Izuku's mother, and the first person he told about The Gamer and how it's not a Quirk.

  • Casual Danger Dialogue: Getting kidnapped causes Inko to casually ask Izuku to invite her to the party. Even when confronted by Overhaul, she just notes that the lack of her bosses and Nemuri suggests this isn't a surprise party being thrown for her securing a deal with Midnight.
  • Formerly Fat: After rejoining the work-force, Inko slowly loses weight thanks to Stat Grinding.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: Inko's "Gravity Pull I" and "Gravity Pull II" allow her to pull small objects towards herself. In Reflective Dungeons, she uses it to disarm enemies and make projectiles veer off target.
  • Parent with New Paramour: Long after her divorce with Hisashi is finalized, she and Midnight eventually give dating a try.
  • Power Incontinence: Due to not actively using her quirk, she was accidentally crushing herself with her power, resulting in her short stature. When she started using her quirk more, she regained some of her height.
  • Seen It All: After everything she's seen, especially in Izuku's Reflective Dungeons, the Yakuza don't come across as particularly scary for her. Downplayed in that the next day, she's noted as being rather rattled.
  • Team Mom: Inko fulfills the role of mom to the entire Guild so well that her hero name for them ends up being Guild Mom.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Between leveling up her Quirk and practice, Inko went from only being able to use her Quirk on items that weigh one kilogram or less to using it on a cast-iron skillet that weighs five and a half kilograms.
  • Unfazed Everyman: Despite functionally being a noncombatant, she seems more annoyed than anything at being kidnapped by the Shie Hassaikai.

    Eri

Eri

Quirk: Rewind

A former captive of the Yakuza.

  • Adaptational Early Appearance: She meets Izuku after the Sports Festival instead of later during his internship after he gets his provisional license.
  • Happily Adopted: After Overhaul is dealt with, Inko asks Nezu to arrange for Eri to be adopted by her if nothing changes after a year.
  • Loved by All: Pretty much everyone that meets her agrees she is adorable. Midnight's reaction to meeting her is pretty much I'm Taking Her Home with Me!.
