Zora Dominion
The fishmen and women of Hyrule's waters have long dominated the submerged realms. With a focus on the ideal of beauty and grace, they have crafted an Empire bent on shaping others to their extraordinary standards... A goal that has made them quite prideful and arrogant in the eyes of their land-dwelling neighbors. When convincing others fails, the Dominion has both military and magic might on their side. General
- Adaptational Badass: Zora in Ocarina of Time possessed no weapons or ways to defend their home of any sort. They have more than a couple weapons in Hyrule Conquest.
- Adaptational Intelligence: The Zora Dominion is based on the Zora tribe from Ocarina of Time, which were at most noble savages living in caves. The Zora in Hyrule Conquest are easily on par, if not more advanced than Hylians.
- Adaptational Modesty: Zora in Ocarina of Time wore no clothes, with the exception of the King. Hyrule Conquest's Zora all mostly wear clothes.
- Adaptational Relationship Overhaul: In most of their canon appearances, they are subservient to the Hylians. In Hyrule Conquest, they are fully autonomous and independent, merely being allies of the Hylians.
- Amazing Technicolor Population: They have blue skin.
- Black Eyes of Evil: Subverted. They have pretty creepy black eyes, but are not that bad.
- Decomposite Character: In the canon games, they are generally the same tribe as the Zora in Twilight Princess, A Link to the Past and Breath of The Wild, who are all distinct ethnicities in Hyrule Conquest.
- Fish People: Well, they are Zora, after all.
- Form-Fitting Wardrobe: Most of the Zora units wear quite tight clothing, not to mention all of the corsets.
- Gender-Equal Ensemble: Not counting Jabu Jabu, the Zora Dominion's heroes are three men and three women.
- Super Not-Drowning Skills: All of their units can travel through water, making them highly mobile on certain maps.
Dormitory units
River Patrol, Boomeranger, Infiltrator, Domain Supreme, Halberdier, Vanguard, Shock Trooper
- Battle Boomerang: The Boomerangers carry them.
- Bling of War: Their armor is made of some sort of brass, giving it a nice, glossy look.
- Canon Foreigner. With the exception of perhaps the Boomeranger, all of the Dormitory units are original designs (And even then, the Boomeranger's clothes are original).
Mage Chambers units
Healer, Healer Supreme, Spark Mage, Stormbolter, Sapphire Warden, Kyameron Master, Mage Cannon, Kyameron, Morphite
- Note: For Nayru's Blessed, see her section in Ruto's entry below. For the Floodmaster, see her section in Laruto's.
- Canon Foreigner Pretty much none of the mage units appeared in canon Zelda games, though Blue Fire has appeared in Ocarina of Time. Zora Healers did appear in Breath of the Wild, though this was after they were introduced in Hyrule Conquest (well, Hyrule Total War at the time), making this a weird example of Accidentally-Correct Writing.
- Good Counterpart: The Kyamerons and Morphites are this to the Zola Zols, being made of clear water to contrast the Zol slime.
- Form-Fitting Wardrobe: A good number of them have pretty tight clothing, not to mention corsets.
- Shock and Awe: Spark Mages and Mage Cannons produce electricity.
Hydrophant Nest units
Hydrophant Lancer, Hydrophant Demolisher
- Note: For the Hydrophant Canopy, see its section in King Farkos's entry below.
- Canon Foreigner: They are a species original to Hyrule Conquest. However, Vah Ruta in the Breath of the Wild is based on an elephant (an animal which has never appeared in any Zelda games), so it's not completely out of the question.
- War Elephants: In case the name didn't give it away, they are elephant-like creatures.
Zora Heroes
Zaleen
Zaleen, Ambassador Supreme
- First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: The Fallen Sage
- Adaptational Wimp: Zaleen in his previous appearances has had an... interesting career, including working as an assassin for the Sheikah and learning their arts. While he is clearly capable of combat, he is more of an ambassador.
- Canon Foreigner: First appeared in a non-canon fangame, and has remained a staple in Undying Nephalim's work ever since.
- Renaissance Man: Ambassador, bodyguard, and healer.
- Support Party Member: He can heal enemy units, as well as boost other healers.
Telara
Telara, Headmaster Historian
- First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: Time's Menagerie
- Adaptational Badass: Was a Guest-Star Party Member that quickly died in her original appearance. Needless to say, she's a little tougher.
- Canon Foreigner: Like Zaleen, she first appeared in a non-canon fangame, and has remained a recurring character in Undying Nephalim's works.
- Shock and Awe: She wields an electrified rod, making her a relatively powerful mage hero.
King Farkos
Farkos Zora de Bon XVI, King of the Domain
- First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Adaptational Badass: In Ocarina of Time, he was somewhat useless, and barely mobile. In Hyrule Conquest, he rides on top of an gigantic hydrophant, making him one of the most powerful Zora heroes.
- Adipose Rex: It's a theme with the Zora kings.
- Disc-One Nuke: Because Farkos is one of the strongest in-game heroes and can be recruited from the start of the match, he is consistently a great pick for rushing enemy bases and endlessly harassing their nodes early on.
- Named by the Adaptation: Downplayed. His last name, de Bon, comes from Ocarina of Time, but Hyrule Conquest also gives him the first name Farkos.
- Non-Mammalian Hair: That catfish moustache of his...
- Punny Name: Word of God says his first name, Farkos, is a pun on fart.
- War Elephants: Rides a Hydrophant Canopy.
Unique Unit: Hydrophant Canopy
- First Appearance: Hyrule Conquest
- War Elephants: A huge one at that. It's bigger than some in-game structures, and is extremely difficult to take down.
Jabun
Jabun, Spawn of Jabu
- First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
- Adaptational Badass: He can fly in the air with the use of wings, something he couldn't do in his original appearance.
- Adaptational Wimp: He is tiny compared to his canon incarnation. Then again, he is said to be young, so it might just be a case of Age Lift.
- Age Lift: Possibly. He is described as an offspring of Jabu Jabu, and a young one at that, which could explain his small size compared to his original appearance. That being said, Oshites are Long-Lived, so we have no idea what young means for them.
- Related in the Adaptation: We don't know much about his relations in The Wind Waker. In Hyrule Conquest, he is firmly Jabu Jabu's son.
Princess Ruto
Ruto Zora de Bon, Sage of Water
- First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Adaptational Badass: Did not actually display power over water and ice in Ocarina of Time. However, this is downplayed when taking Hyrule Warriors into account.
- Adaptational Modesty: Was infamously (or famously) naked throughout Ocarina of Time, but is dressed much more modestly in Hyrule Conquest. Well, relatively modestly.
- An Ice Person: Her power over water manifests in this manner.
- Form-Fitting Wardrobe: Her clothes hug her physique quite well.
- Non-Standard Character Design: She is the only Zora that lacks the black eyes.
- The Ugly Guy's Hot Daughter: Obviously, given her father is Farkos.
Unique Unit: Nayru's Blessed
- First Appearance: Hyrule Conquest
- Canon Foreigner: Did not appear in any of the games, though her powers are based on Nayru's Love from Ocarina of Time.
- Support Party Member: She boosts the defense ratings of nearby allies.
Laruto
Laruto, Sage of Water
- First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
- Non-Standard Character Design: She has headfins and a tail despite being a female Dominion Zora.
Unique Unit: Floodmaster
- First Appearance: Hyrule Conquest
- Canon Foreigner: Have not appeared in any of the canon games.
- Names to Run Away from Really Fast: There are no nice connotations to the the word "flood".
Lord Jabu Jabu
Lord Jabu Jabu, Founder of the Dominion
- First Appearance: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Adaptational Badass: He can fly thanks to his giant wings.
- Related in the Adaptation: Didn't have any direct relatives in Ocarina of Time. In Hyrule Conquest, he is the father of Jabun.
- Support Party Member: He doesn't have any ways to attack offensively. However, he is easily the most powerful healer unit in the game, meaning he can keep his allies alive long enough to win engagements.
