He used his bow to shoot down all 8 suns and left one alone, restoring the heat level of China. Unfortunately, those suns were the sons of the Jade Emperor of that time, Di Jun, and so Hou Yi was punished by being stripped of his immortality along with Chang'e's. Hou Yi managed to procure the elixir of immortality, but Chang'e ended up drinking it in dire need without him, separating them forever. Hou Yi then spent the rest of his life alone, with some sources stating that he ended up as a tyrant without Chang'e by his side and eventually slain by one of his students.
- Lame Pun Reaction: Downplayed. One of his quotes led him to make a pun, and he puts a Beat in-between to show that he's not too proud of it.Blind belief will leave you... blind.
- The Power of the Sun: He carries the sun's energy with his bow. This is also enhanced with how he's nicknamed 'Solarus' in the global version, and a lot of his quotes revolve around the sun.

Original Information: The master archer of Shu in the Three Kingdoms era. Huang Zhong started out as a subordinate of warlord Han Xuan. Despite his age, he still stood stalwart in the face of the invading Shu army and faced off with Guan Yu, still showing good valor against the mighty warrior. Eventually Han Xuan surrendered and Huang Zhong enlisted himself to Shu. His archery skills were unquestioned that it granted him a spot in the Five Tiger Generals of Shu. Even as an old man, he could still keep up with the young soldiers, until his untimely end in an ambush during the battle of Xiaoting.
- Adaptational Weapon Swap: Instead of being a literal Master Archer with a bow, Huang Zhong is now armed with Arm Cannon that can transform into an artillery. None of those would have existed in the Three Kingdoms period.

[Crossover skin] Laville
Original Information: A traveling merchant from Italy, born in Venezia. Marco Polo traveled throughout the Silk Road in Asia, and in process, he ended up in China temporarily. He made quite an impression that one of the bridges there is named 'Marco Polo Bridge' in his honor. His journey is later chronicled in The Travels of Marco Polo
- All of the Other Reindeer: As a foreigner, Marco Polo is met with disdain amongst many of the cast who are Chinese. He's also the only one who receives this as other 'obviously foreign' characters like Arthur receive no flak, most likely due to his modern weaponry (guns).
- Fragile Speedster: He's not that good in burst damage, but he's extremely slippery, zipping through the battlefield while delivering Death of a Thousand Cuts. Being a marksman, it'll only be a matter of time until he can deliver more damaging shots in addition of that.
- Gorgeous Gaijin: A blonde foreign guy who looks young enough as a very attractive pretty boy.
- Gratuitous English: Still has a Chinese voice actor, and yet he's the only 'foreigner' that's allowed to speak English (not even Arthur is allowed, and even moreso, Marco's based on an Italian). Some of his English are fine, some are just off ("NICE TO MEET YOU DIE!"). Generally, he's just saying English phrases for showmanship.
- Guns Akimbo: He's dual-wielding two handguns, specializing in rapid-fire shots.

- Historical Relationship Overhaul: Meng Ya is the son of Meng Tian within this game’s universe, the historical Meng Tian has no offsprings, and he died off with all his family under Emperor’s rule.
Faction: Three Kingdoms - Wu
Arena of Valor counterpart: Violet
Original Information: The youngest daughter of Sun Jian, a warlord of the Three Kingdoms era, and little sister of Sun Ce. Sun Shangxiang grew up as a tomboy, being interested in warfare and martial arts and always escorted with maids armed with weapons. As a symbol of alliance between Shu and Wu in preparation of the Battle of the Red Cliffs, Sun Shangxiang was put on an Arranged Marriage with Liu Bei. After the battle was done, she felt like returning back home as suggested by his fellow Wu men since she didn't quite trust Liu Bei. She tried taking his son Liu Shan with her, but Liu Bei's men thwarted her and she could only return alone. Romance of the Three Kingdoms would upgrade her relations and feelings into a more harmonious one and the separation was played as more of a tragedy, and when she heard about the disastrous battle of Xiaoting, Sun Shangxiang was so wrecked with grief that she committed suicide.
- Gatling Good: Her weapon is a gatling gun with some crossbow design on it, just so people can call it 'Heavy Crossbow'.
- Official Couple: She's on good terms with Liu Bei again, just like in the novel.
- Tomboy Princess: The Princess of Wu faction is still the same tomboy princess with disdain towards overly feminine thing (minus her own Girlish Pigtails)."'Ladylike', 'Schmeadylike', I couldn't care less!"
- Tomboy with a Girly Streak: Sure, she's still a Warrior Princess of Wu. But, she also wears her overly long Girlish Pigtails proudly.
- Small Girl, Big Gun: She looks older than some girls like Xiao Qiao or Cai Wenji, but still, that 'crossbow' she's wielding is almost half her size and works like a Gatling Good.
Faction: Riverlands/Hegemon of Chu
Arena of Valor counterpart: The Joker -> Stuart
- Automatic Crossbow: Carries two which can fuse into a BFG styled bigger crossbow.
- Boring, but Practical: Her kit is very simple, just simply build more damage and shoot the enemy into submission.
- Brainwashed and Crazy: Mind controlled by Donghuang Taiyi, most of her quotes indicate that she's being on a destructive trance.
- Cold Sniper: Her mind-controlled persona, she is eerily quiet and an even deadlier shot, as experienced by Xiang Yu the night she was captured.
- Dub Name Change: Subverted. "Juniper" is actually her title, not her name, she's still listed as "Consort Yu" in places where real names are written. But since Juniper can be a pretty legitimate name (aside of the flower she's themed at), people can confuse it to be her actual name.
- Flower Motifs: Oak leaves, and currently; Juniper leaves.
- Mind Control: She was mind controlled, and struck down Xiang Yu temporarily.
- No-Sell: Her second ability will render her immune to all physical damage for a short time.

- Race Lift: Not ethnicity, nor actual skin race, but a fantastical example where she is a Wood Nymph with a degree in wind magic, courtesy of being raised by the forests. The historical Consort Yu is actually as human as she can be.
- She-Fu: An integral part of her kit, is to dive straight into the enemy’s face bounce back and shoot more bolts at them.
- Wild Child: Not as wild as Aguduo, but the forest raised and nurtured her into a protectress.
