All for one, and one for all!

Because of this story taking place in two alternate realities, the real world where the Doraemon series is set, and the Dream Land of Yumemiru, Nobita and gang assumes completely separate identities once they entered the dream world. Their dream counterparts differ so much from their real-world selves to the point where a separate character sheet can be used to differentiate them.

Nobitania

  • The Ace: The best swordsman, warrior, strategist… basically everything the real-life Nobita isn't.
  • All-Loving Hero: Nobitania is a Friend to All Living Things, to the point where he doesn't feel like slaying the dragon because he thinks the dragon is just defending itself from intruders and killing it would be wrong.
  • Alternate Self: To Nobita in the real world.
  • Master Swordsman: The best of the team of heroes, fitting his title of the "Silver Knight".
  • Red Baron: The Silver Knight, a title that brings hope to the citizens of Yumemiru through a prophecy that "a Silver Knight shall liberate Yumimeru from Evil".

Doraemon

Doraemon, getting bored of simply watching Nobita's adventures as Nobitania in the dream world, decides to sneak in via the Dream Machine's portal. Since everyone else is playing as a knight or warrior, Doraemon instead decide to play as a wizard.
  • Alternate Self: Averted, Doraemon the robot cat and Doraemon the wizard is the same entity, thanks to Doraemon himself deciding to sneak into the dream world to join Nobita's adventures.
Doraemon: What? I was bored looking at the Dream Machine's screen.
  • Broomstick Quarterstaff: Uses his broom as a weapon when forced into close combat. He's not too good at it, though.
  • Companion Cube: His broom.
Doraemon: [retrieving said broom after it was stuck on a shooting star]: Oh baby, where have you been? Come to papa!
  • Flying Broomstick: Flies on his broom, like the traditional depiction of sorcerors and witches.
  • Magic Knight: Downplayed, he isn't as capable a fighter compared to the other knights, but he holds his ground rather decently when in combat. He prefers using his gadgets instead of partaking in fights though.
  • Token Non-Human: A robot cat wizard among a band of knights.
  • Token Wizard: The only major character who's a wizard.

Fairy Shiru

A fairy from Yumirume Kingdom who guides Nobita once he enters the Dream World. She later pops out of the Dream Machine right into the real world, to reveal that Lord Odorom's army had taken over Yumirume in Nobitania's abscence.

Sunemisu

A haughty, arrogant warrior noble who seeks to defeat Lord Odorom in exchange for wealth and power as the reputed "Saviour of Yumemiru". Was originally Suneo from a different dream until Doraemon and Nobita dragged him into the Yumemiru quest.
  • Alternate Self: To Suneo in the real world.
  • Defeat Means Respect: Quickly becomes Giantosu's lackey after getting bested in a duel.
  • Only in It for the Money: His quest to defeat Odorom and save Yumemiru isn't for righteous reasons, but for the glory, fame and power that follows.
  • Professional Butt-Kisser: Yeah, much like his real-world counterpart.
  • Taken for Granite: Gets momentarily turned into a statue thanks to being hit by the dragon's petrifying breath, until Nobitania and Doraemon splashes water containing the dragon's sweat reverting them to normal.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: An example with a valid explanation: after Nobita and Doraemon returns to the real world and decides not to continue with the adventure in Yumirume, Nobita then finds Gian and Suneo in the gang's usual hideout and tells them to remove the mole-like antenna attached to their cheeks. Because of this, when Nobita, Shizuka and Doraemon gets dragged back into the dream world as their Yumirume counterparts, Giantosu and Sunemisu seems to have vanished without a trace.

Giantosu

A boisterous brute who proclaims himself as a grand champion. Like Sunemisu above, he's originally Gian from a different dream until Doraemon and Nobita dragged him into the Yumemiru quest.
  • Alternate Self: To Gian in the real world.
  • The Big Guy: The biggest and strongest of the knights, as expected since he's the dream counterpart of Gian.

Shizukaria

The rebellious princess of Yumemiru who decides to run away from the palace after realizing the King is offering her as a reward to the savior of Yumemiru. She decides to take on the quest to defeat Lord Odorom and save the kingdom herself, and then she ends up stumbling into Nobitania and gang. Yes, she's originally Shizuka who got dragged into the dream by Nobita and Doraemon.
  • Action Girl: She is a skilled swordfighter, having taken swordfighting lessons in secret.
  • Alternate Self: To Shizuka in the real world.
  • Compressed Hair: Her long, flowing hair fits perfectly well inside her helmet. She didn't even cut it in any way, as seen when she removes her armour to wash herself in the dragon's lake.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Downplayed, but she is less than impressed by Nobitania when she first meets him. After witnessing his kindness and bravery on their adventure together, however, she admits that she would be willing to marry him.
  • Gilded Cage: She considers a life of luxury in the palace as a prison, when the citizens of Yumemiru is suffering on the outside. Leading to her decision to disguise herself as a male warrior and leave the palace.
  • Identical Stranger: Due to Nobita asking for the Dream Machine to assign two roles to Shizuka, Shizukaria looks identical to Fairy Shiru. They don't share any scenes together throughout the story however.
  • Rebellious Princess: One who constantly disobeys her father, the King and runs away from home after she's denied from leaving the palace. She also kept her swordfighting lessons a secret from her father.
  • The Smart Girl: She's the one who thinks up the strategy to defeat General Spider's Mud Golems, and later even Lord Odorom himself.
  • Sweet Polly Oliver: When posing as a male warrior and joining the campaign to save Yumemiru.

The Dragon

No High Fantasy setting would be complete without one, though strangely this dragon resembles the Eastern variety.

A benevolent, peaceful dragon residing in a cave, it's said in legends that anyone who bathed in the dragon's blood will be immune to most of Lord Odorom's magic, resulting in bands of different adventurers venturing into the dragon's cave trying to slay it, only to be petrified alive in the process. But as it turns out, the dragon's sweat is already enough as a defense against Odorom's powers.

  • Achilles' Heel: Slicing off the dragon's whiskers will make him fall into a comatose state. The challenge is actually getting near the dragon without being hit by his petrifying flames.
  • Breath Weapon: We said petrifying flames, right?
  • Delightful Dragon: As Doraemon, Nobitania, and Shizukaria find out, the dragon is really a peaceful creature who will allow those who gain his trust in bathing in his sweat to become immune to Oborom's powers.
  • The Dreaded: The dragon's reputation is feared across the land, to the point where a giant bear the size of a carriage is afraid of entering the dragon's cave!
  • Healing Factor: After getting his whiskers sliced off, the dragon will regrow them in minutes. At which point he then regains consciousness and gets back up.
  • It Can Think: He seems like an unthinking monster at first, but is revealed to be intelligent and eloquent.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: As it turns out, the dragon never had any hostile intent was quite content minding his own business in his cave lair and only petrified intruders in his cave as self-defense. Nobitania lampshades it outright when preparing to kill the dragon, saying that he feels it's wrong to just barge into the dragon's cave and try killing an animal who isn't actively hurting anybody.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Despite Yumirume being in a European-style High Fantasy setting, the dragon (in the manga, at least) resembles an Oriental one (Specifically, the Chinese long dragon variety). Also it breathes petrifying flames, which doesn't burn it's targets, but rather turns them into stone. The anime adaptation seems to incorporate traits of Western dragons blended with an Eastern design, having bat-like wings absent in the manga.
  • The Power of Blood: Any warriors who slathered themselves in the dragon's blood will be immune to Odorom's magic, which is the reason behind why several warriors will intrude the dragon's cave… and perish in the process. As it turns out, the dragon's sweat is roughly as potent and as powerful as it's blood, the only downside being that It Only Works Once.
  • Suddenly Speaking: Regaining consciousness after regenerating his severed whiskers, the dragon suddenly spoke, much to the surprise of Doraemon, Nobitania and Shizukaria. Then they realize the dragon is actually a reasonable, harmless creature, who advise the heroes that they can wash themselves in his sweat to become immune to Odorom's magic.
  • Taken for Granite: Any unfortunate adventurers hit by the dragon's petrifying flames will turn into a statue. The dragon's cavern lair is in fact littered with dozens and dozens of statues belonging to failed warriors of the past. However, water mixed with the dragon's sweat can reverse the petrification.
  • Talking Animal: He can talk, but only reveals this to heroes when they prove they're not a threat.

Lord Odorom

A powerful demon lord reigning over the forces of chaos, and the main villain of the story. After learning the prophecy of his defeat in the hands of the Silver Knight, Odorom demands for the entirety of Yumemiru destroyed while hunting for the alleged Silver Knight.
  • Actually a Doombot: Nobitania's first successful duel with Lord Odorom have him stabbing the villain's heart... except he didn't. He only stabbed an illusion instead, with the real Odorom behind him.
  • Attack on the Heart: Odorom's sole weak spot is his heart, for he is invulnerable and invincible when hit on any other part of his body.
  • Bad Boss: Odorom is, frankly, quite a bit of a dick to his underlings. Vaporizing General Spider for failing him and threatening Toriho over his failure for starters.
  • Big Bad: The powerful demon lord threatening Yumirume Kingdom with his army of monsters.
  • Bird People: His face resembles a mixture of avian and pterodactyl features. Meanwhile his foot soldiers are raven-men.
  • Cool Crown: A Golden one with a red gem in its middle. It really brings out the "Emperor of Darkness" vibe in him.
  • Doppelgänger Spin: Briefly displays this skill when battling Nobitania in the finale. Fairy Shiru tells Nobitania to close his eyes and let his instincts guide him to track down the real Odorom.
  • Evil Gloating: Indulges in these from time to time, especially when planning to destroy Yumirume Kingdom.
  • Flechette Storm: Odorom can fire dozens and dozens of star-shaped projectiles on his targets as a ranged attack, using it in the final battle to crush Doraemon the wizard under a wave of stars and later having Nobitania Pinned to the Wall.
  • Horned Humanoid: Demonic-looking horns fitting a powerful overlord.
  • Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: He is finally defeated by being run through with Nobitania's enlarged sword.
  • Keystone Army: After he gets Nobitania's sword through his heart, his castle burns up, and his forces crumble, with Yumemiru being saved from his army once he's defeated.
  • Magic Staff: His primary weapon is a skull-headed staff who can fire Disintegrator Rays from the eye sockets.
  • Power Floats: Lord Odorom doesn't need to walk when battling the heroes, his magic allowing him to hover freely above ground.
  • Sorcerous Overlord: A demonic sorcerer with magical abilities and rules his own armies and subjects from his dreaded fortress, flanked by his monster minions.
  • Villain Ball: After having Nobitania Pinned to the Wall via his star projectiles, instead of killing Nobitania outright, Lord Odorom feels the need to taunt his opponent for a while. His delay allows Shizukaria, having revived herself in his throne room and collected Doraemon's Dimensional Pocket, to use the enlarging beam on Nobitania's sword, extending the blade long enough to stab Odorom through the heart.

Toriho

Lord Odorom's harpy henchman who can enter and exit the dream-verse at will. He actually shows up in the real world to advertise the Yumemiru quest to Nobita (then frustrated at trying to finish his homework). Reappears in the dream world once he successfully convinced Nobita and friends to partake in the adventure, constantly spying on the heroes while plotting to overthrow Odorom.
  • Alternate Self: He exists in the real world as a human, albeit one with an odd-looking, birdlike face.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Plots to lure Nobita - a.k.a the Silver Knight - into the dream world in order to dispose of his master, Lord Odorom. Earlier on he also plots the deaths of Odorom's other generals, Spider and Ganbosu, to get himself in his Lord's good graces.
  • Harping on About Harpies: His counterpart in the Dream World is a bird with a human face.
  • The Starscream: He really, really wants to see his boss getting killed. Given that Odorom is a Bad Boss it's no surprise.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Despite having a bunch of scenes painting him as an important threat, Toriho somehow disappears from the story after Lord Odorom's defeat.

General Spider

A humanoid spider-monster general serving Odorom.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": A spider-humanoid named General Spider.
  • Multiarmed And Dangerous: Thanks to having six arms, General Spider wields six rapiers at the same time allowing him to battle Nobitania and his comrades all at the same time. But he turns tail fleeing once all six of his rapiers get snapped.
  • Villain: Exit, Stage Left: After his Mud Golem army gets literally washed away and dissolved, and he's defeated by the combined force of Nobitania, Giantosu, Sunemisu and Shizukaria with all six of his rapiers snapped, General Spider beats a hasty retreat by leaping off a tower and firing his web on an adjacent building, swinging away from battle. Too bad (for him) Lord Odorom doesn't respond kindly to losers.
  • Poisoned Weapons: Although not stated directly within the story (manga or anime film), Spider wields six poisoned-tipped rapiers in battle (according to external sources anyway).
  • Projectile Webbing: He can fire webbing from his mouth to swing away from danger once things go south for him, but this tactic is reserved for retreats and not attacks.
  • Spider People: A humanoid spider-monster general of Odorom's army.
  • Starter Villain: The first general of Odorom's army that the heroic knights must defeat.
  • You Have Failed Me: After losing the battle and barely escaping with his life, General Spider ends up being vaporized by a pissed-off Lord Odorom.

General Ganbosu

An elephant demon serving Odorom.
  • Adaptational Wimp: In the movie, he falls to his death after Nobitania slices off one of his ears. In the manga, he survives and enlarges himself to continue the fight. It takes the other knights using Donbura Powder to turn the ground around him to quicksand before he is defeated.
  • The Brute: Largest and strongest minion of Lord Odorom.
  • Cruel Elephant: A brutal, sadistic elephant monster serving Lord Odorom who delights in leading the forces of chaos in destroying human cities.
  • Disney Villain Death: In the movie, he falls to his death after Nobitania slices off one of his Ear Wings.
  • Ear Wings: While in normal size, Ganbosu can fly thanks to his wings, battling Nobitania in mid-air with the latter having the Takecopter. Ganbosu lose this skill once Nobitania sliced off his left ear.
  • Make My Monster Grow: After getting bested in battle by Nobitania and having his ear cut off, Ganbosu reveals his ability to enlarge himself into a behemoth the size of a mountain. But Doraemon had gadgets to counter that, too.
  • Quicksand Sucks: In the manga, the enlarged Ganbosu is defeated when the other knights sprinkles Doraemon's Donbura Powder on the floor around his feet, turning the ground he's standing on into a quicksand pit. Since he lose an ear and no longer have the ability of flight, Ganbosu quickly sinks and drowns.
  • War Elephants: A sentient one serving the forces of darkness. And he is not their steed, he's their General.
