Inaco

    Player/Ani

Ani Inaco

Voiced by: Sayuri Yahagi (anime)

The protagonist and player character. She is the only princess of Inaco, and is dispatched by her mother to the countries of Milidonia and Selenfalen in order to help fend off the invasion of Inaco. Her default name is Ani, though it can be changed.

  • Boke and Tsukkomi Routine: Plays the tsukkomi to her more eccentric companions.
  • Break the Cutie: In Mare's route, she can end up practically an emotionless husk of her former self for Mare to dote on.
  • Country Mouse: Inaco is so small and rural that she's more of a mayor's daughter than a princess. The huge cities of the neighboring kingdoms are a whole new experience.
  • Hello, [Insert Name Here]
  • Nice Girl: A kind-hearted princess to be exact.
  • Oblivious to Love: Doesn't know about Teo's apparent feelings for her. In the anime, she doesn't pick up on the princes' feelings either.
  • Only Sane Man: She's probably the only normal person in the world.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: Her parents have raised her to work as hard as their people, so she often works in the fields. Not to mention the whole plot of the game is to secure relations with other kingdoms.

    Teo

Teo Colton

Voiced by: Tomoaki Maeno

Ani's childhood friend and self-proclaimed knight.

  • Bodyguard Crush: He acts as her personal knight, and has quite a bit of infatuation for the girl in her charge.
  • Butt-Monkey: The designated punching bag of the anime series, at the very least. Not an episode goes by when he's not being subjected to something humiliating.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: He can't even tell Ani she looks cute without panicking and changing the subject.
  • Image Song: "Kawaranai Houmotsu".
  • Nice Guy
  • Parental Abandonment: His father died some time ago and his mother is never mentioned.
  • Patient Childhood Love Interest
  • Unrequited Love: Despite being one of the primary characters in the game, he was the only one for a long time who lacked a romance route. Despite this he was still treated as if he was a love interest, getting his own Character CD with the other bachelors. The anime has a fun time with this at his expense, being largely ignored or treated platonically whenever he was on screen.
  • Youthful Freckles

    Gurimaru
Voiced by: Ayaka Saitou

A (self-proclaimed) griffin cub who is also the guardian beast of Inaco.

The King and Queen of Inaco

Ani's parents.

  • Dark and Troubled Past: The queen's past is this, going by what was revealed in Chrom's route.
  • Older Than They Look: The queen. No ages are stated in-game, but going by Chrom's route, where it's revealed that she's older than him, despite looking not that much older than her daughter, she is this trope.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: The king and queen are cheerful and happy-go-lucky in comparison to their more mild-mannered daughter.

    Other Inacans

Thomson-san

An old man who lives in Capre Village. Occasionally shows up in the story.

Milidonia

    Narek
Voiced by: Kaito Ishikawa

The crown Prince of Milledonia, and the most handsome, winsome, and well-dressed person in the world... or so he'd like you to think of himself.

  • Character Development: In all the Milidonia routes, Narek becomes less narcissistic and more responsible due to the hardships he faces.
  • Fiery Redhead: He must have boundless energy stored in his long hair.
  • Hey, You!: Calls Ani "Woman" before they grow closer.
  • It's All About Me: His modus operandi. His only concerns are making himself look good for his subjects, and how to get that particular problem resolved for the day. His usage of "ore-sama" only emphasizes it.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Yes, Narek is obnoxious and obsessed with himself, but he's willing to work hard and help others.
  • Large Ham: This goes hand in hand with his narcissism, as he's prone to making dramatic speeches and posing.
  • Missing Mom: His mother died when he was young.
  • Narcissist: Convinced he's the most handsome man in the world, and obsessed with making sure the world knows it.
  • Tsundere: Towards Ani.

     Vino
Voiced by: Yuichiro Umehara

A playful pretty boy and the son of a noble. Friends and cousins with Narek.

     Riot

Selenfalen

    Ruze
Voiced by: Soma Saito

The airheaded prince of Selenfalen, with impeccable beauty.

  • Big Brother Instinct: Ruze cares for Mare very much, although he’s usually too passive to let his brother know.
  • Catchphrase: "At least, that's what the Prime Minister told me."
  • Character Development: He learns to become more independent and proactive in leading Selenfalen.
  • The Ditz: He's not very savvy in the ways of politics, and has a head way up in the clouds most days.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Due to his incredible beauty, one couldn't be blamed for either mistaking him for a beautiful girl or falling in love with him.
  • Effeminate Voice: He has a soft, high-pitched voice.
  • Even the Guys Want Him: Almost anyone, males included, will fall in love with him if he so much as looks in their direction with a beaming smile.
  • Extreme Doormat: The closest he comes to ruling his country is parroting whatever Chrom tells him to say.
  • Face of an Angel, Mind of a Demon: Very downplayed, but Ruze has sometimes shown some sadistic tendencies, such as telling Ani that he thinks her troubled face is cute.
  • Identity Breakdown: Has to deal with suspicions that he might not be the real prince due to an incident a long time ago in which he was kidnapped as a baby, but the kidnapper claims that he was actually switched with another child during the kidnapping. This is all false as Chrom was the one who hypnotized the man into claiming that.
  • The Ingenue: The boy is so pure that all of Selenfaren is smitten with his innocence, calling him an angel in human form.
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: As the most innocent of the princes, he has crystal blue eyes to match.
  • Older Than They Look: Ruze is Mare's older brother, but his innocent, boyish looks make him seem younger.
  • Stepford Smiler: Keeps all of his worries behind his smile, as that is what Chrom taught him to do.
  • Yandere: Becomes this in the Valentine's event and is somehow even scarier than his brother.

    Mare
Voiced by: Ryōhei Kimura

The second prince of Selenfalen, who mostly holes himself up in his room.

  • Hikkikomori: Spends most of the time longing for his room.
  • Important Haircut: Mare cuts his long, messy hair once he resolves to start interacting with the outside world finally.
  • Lonely Doll Girl: At first, his only friend is the Kyuaran hand puppet he sometimes speaks through. Play your cards wrong, and he becomes a Living Doll Collector, with Ani as his new doll.
  • Meaningful Name: His name invokes "Nightmare", and he is certainly a dark and creepy guy.
  • No Social Skills: Mare wants to be left alone, so he doesn't bother with concepts like tact or manners. Even the persona for his Kyuaran puppet is abrasive to people.
  • Only Sane Man: Among the four princes. He's most likely to point out the others' strange behavior anyway.
  • Otaku: He's mad for Kyuaran, the lead character of a Magical Girl Show Within a Show.
  • She Cleans Up Nicely: Mare is introduced with messy bangs and wearing baggy pajamas. Once the player coaxes him out of his room, he gets a haircut and spiffy new clothes.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: He and his brother are as different as night and day. Where Ruze is cheerful, brightly colored, and positive-minded, Mare is anti-social, wears blacks and purples, and is more negatively inclined.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Due to a childhood incident involving Ruze and an octopus, Mare is terrified by "sea monsters".
  • Yandere: Played for dark humor in the anime, where he daydreams about locking Ani away in his room. It's significantly less funny in his bad ending.

     Chrom
The Prime Minister of Selenfalen and advisor of Ruze. Obsessed with the boy to the point where he swoons at his cuteness.
  • Easily Forgiven: Ruze allows Crom to continue serving him despite putting him under mind control.
  • Mean Boss: Ani witnesses him punish a guard for skipping out on his duties in favor of a date by whipping him. Good thing that the guard was a masochist.
  • Promoted to Love Interest: Received a route after the initial release of the game.
  • The Starscream: He planned to take over Selenfalen by mind-controlling Ruze.
