Kaluan Pantheon

    open/close all folders

    General
  • Fantasy Pantheon: The Kaluan Pantheon, founded and led by Princess Soleia, is the principle pantheon watching over the island of Pulau Tropika, once known as Tropica/Tropical Island in the Second Age. Due to Pulau Tropika taking elements from Polynesian/Hawaiian culture, the Kaluan Pantheon has some Polynesian motifs as well, with some of their backstories taking cues from Polynesian/Hawaiian mythology. Initially, the members of the Kaluan Pantheon felt uncomfortable with being worshiped, largely due to their imperfect natures, until Gagal convinced them to accept worship on the grounds that they be honest with their mortal followers about their flaws and failures.
  • Stop Worshipping Me: Subverted. Unlike the Terran Empire and some other divine groups, the Kaluan Pantheon has no real problem with being worshipped - if their worshipers know their faults and failures and still desire to worship them anyway, they see nothing wrong with it. They did feel uncomfortable with being worshiped at first during the early days of the pantheon's formation, largely due to their own imperfect natures, but Gagal convinced them to accept worship on the grounds that they let their worshipers know of their flaws. This gave birth to the local religion of Kaluanism.

Princess Soleia, the Maiden of Summer

Classification: Elemental/Ascendant

Portfolio: Summer, Sports, Rest

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

"Praise the Sun, dudes and dudettes!"

Princess Soleia, born Sunny Daze (her entry here), is the Alicorn goddess of Summer, Sports, and Rest, and is the principle deity of the Kaluan Pantheon.
  • Abstract Apotheosis: She became the Alicorn goddess of Summer, Sports, and Rest after training alongside her friends for many years under Luminiferous, who was attracted to her heroic deeds and potential for divinity.
  • Adaptational Badass: In My Little Pony (G3), Sunny Daze is a brave, athletic Pony who loves surfing and wears sunglasses. Here, she's one of the four Seasonal Maidens, with her holding dominion over the summer weather, and worked as a superheroine during the summer season. Under Luminiferous' tutelage, she would Ascend to godhood as Princess Soleia, the Alicorn goddess of Summer, Sports, and Rest, and become a founding member/leader of the Kaluan Pantheon once she revived the ruined Second Age island of Tropica, now called Pulau Tropika. She's also a "Tropical Pony", a type of mutant that possesses both heat manipulation and heat resistance.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Her canon name was Sunny Daze, but in the Codexverse it was her mortal name. She changed her name to Soleia after Ascending to godhood.
  • Adaptation Species Change: A normal Earth Pony in canon, she's depicted here as an Earth Pony with the "Tropical Pony" mutation, which gives her heat powers and resistance. After training under Luminiferous for many years, she would eventually Ascend to godhood as an Alicorn goddess.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a Kaluan Alicorn goddess who embodies Summer, Sports, and Rest.
  • Appease the Volcano God: Averted. While not a deity of Volcanoes like her adoptive son, Tahuna, she made her home in a local volcano sometime after reviving/rebuilding Pulau Tropika, her domain of Summer allowing her to endure lava without any harm. She was shocked and confused when she heard of Clovenist rumors that depict her as a 'tyrannical volcano goddess' who demanded live, sapient sacrifices.
  • Badass Teacher: She taught a then-mortal Gagal how to Ascend to godhood, as Luminiferous saw potential in Gagal to become a god that would help others accept their own flaws. She herself is a laidback and friendly, yet very powerful goddess who is willing to fight to protect her friends from danger.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Her entry notes that due to growing up in the Third Age, she's a goodhearted, laidback, and empathetic Pony who prefers not to use lethal force if she can help it.. However, she's not to be underestimated, as she is a powerful goddess with lots of experience, and is willing to fight in order to protect herself and others from dangerous threats.
  • Book Dumb: By her own admission, she isn't interested in academic studies and prefers [[Taught by Experience kinesthetic learning], though she isn't dumb by any means.
  • The Chosen One: In her mortal youth, she ended up being chosen by the Sun Wand to be its wielder, leading to her becoming the Princess of Summer who was in charge of overseeing all summer-related activities and protected Ponyville (and other places) during the summer. Eventually, she was chosen by Luminiferous for the privilege of Ascending to godhood alongside her fellow artifact-wielders and other similarly chosen friends.
  • Deity of Human Origin: She was once the mortal Earth pony Sunny Daze, but after being chosen by the Sun Wand as its primary wielder and becoming the guardian of Ponyville's Summer weather and hero of Ponykind, she would become a student of Luminiferous alongside Jiniri. This eventually led to her Ascending and becoming Princess Soleia, the Alicorn Goddess of Summer.
  • Elemental Hair Composition: Her multicolored mane and tail are presently made of sunlight.
  • God of Light: A "God of the Sun" example. As a goddess of Summer, her domain covers sunlight, though instead of light, her powers center more around heat and Weather Manipulation, allowing her to banish and/or create storms. This stems from how sunlight plays a huge part in the formation of storms.
  • Gratuitous Princess: She, along with everyone else in Ponyville, would be granted the title of "Princess" by Princess Wysteria to avoid being socially isolated by her royal status.
  • Heroic BSoD: While normally cheerful and laidback, she was devastated when a number of disasters, including the Oceanaiads' suicidal attack against their enemies, effectively wiped out the Third Age and everything she loved. This would lead to her meeting and befriending Golden Scepter, who understood the pain she felt and comforted her.
  • Heroic Lineage: She is a Third Age descendant of Melody and Ace from the Second Age. This makes her a cousin of the Muse Trio, who are also descendants. Melody and Ace's Ascensions as Alicorn demi-deities in the Fourth Age turned this into Divine Parentage.
  • Hero of Another Story: Before becoming the Alicorn goddess of Summer and the Top God of the Kaluan Pantheon, she was a mortal superheroine who had various adventures with her friends. These adventures include visiting Santa Hooves at the North Pole after Minty accidentally broke the magical beacon to draw him to Ponyville, and saving Ponyland's color by returning the lost Princess Rarity to Unicornianote . She would also be present for the Unicorns and Pegasi reuniting with the Earth Ponies once again.
  • Human Sacrifice: In-Universe, the Cloven Empire tried painting her as a "tyrannical volcano goddess" who demanded live, sapient sacrifices in order to slander her name in the eyes of the world. This left her rather shocked and confused.
Princess Soleia: Huh?! What? Dude, why would I want pony sacrifices? I don't even know any volcano god who does that anymore.
  • Immortality Begins at Twenty: Subverted. Deities get Stronger with Age, which affects how powerful and eldritch they are. As a "Tier III"-ranked goddess from the Third Age, she is between 1000 and 10,000-years-old, making her stronger than demi-deities and younger full-fledged deities. She also has a multicolored mane made of sunlight, but lacks the magical wing gradient that older Alicorns possess.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: One of her friends is Golden Scepter, an antediluvian Alicorn Emperor who is older than even her mentor, Luminiferous, and was still a globe-trotter at the time. Golden Scepter comforted her while she was grieving the Third Age's destruction, and encouraged her to remain a Surfer Dude despite other deities' attempts to convince her otherwise because it made her more relatable to her worshipers.
  • Karmic Jackpot: Her heroic deeds as Ponyville's Princess of Summer and its local superheroine would later catch the attention of Luminiferous, who took her in as a student along with several of her friends and helped her Ascend to godhood.
  • Lava Surfing: Because she's a goddess of Summer who happens to be a Tropical Pony, she has a very strong heat resistance. This allows her to lava-surf (and swim in lava) unharmed, and has even challenged Dragons (who are heat-resistant themselves) to lava-surfing contests.
  • Lovable Jock: As a mortal, she was one of Ponyville's biggest athletes in the Third Age and specialized in surfing, though she also held Ponyville's record for most cartwheels performed (while drinking lemonade). After Ascending to godhood, she would challenge Dragons to lava-surfing contests, owing to both their natural heat resistance. She's a very laidback and friendly goddess who speaks entirely in slang, which in the eyes of her mortal worshipers makes her very relatable.
  • Magic Hair: She has a multicolored mane and tail composed of sunlight.
  • Magic Wand: She is the chosen wielder of the Sun Wand, an artifact that enhances her natural heat/weather-based powers and gives her fire magic.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Maiden of Summer", due to being an Alicorn Princess who embodies Summer as a concept.
  • Mentor Archetype: She was appointed by Luminiferous to teach a then-mortal Gagal (then named Blazing Tides) how to Ascend to godhood, as Luminiferous predicted that Gagal had potential to become a god everyone will benefit from. True to form, Gagal became a god of Earnestness, Faults, and Flaws who helped many deities accept and/or overcome their own flaws.
  • Martial Pacifist: As befitting someone who grew up in the Third Age, she's a laidback and sweet-hearted Alicorn who prefers not to use lethal force if she can help it. However, it still doesn't change the fact that she still a powerful goddess with lots of experience on her hooves, and will not hesitate to fight to protect herself or her loved ones if necessary.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Her birth name was Sunny Daze. Fittingly, she's an athlete who loves sports, especially surfing, and just so happened to be a Tropical Pony, which grants her heat-related powers. She also has a Cutie Mark depicitng a hot pink sun with a smiling face.
    • Her current name, Soleia, is derived from the word "soleil", which translates to "sun" in French. It's also her name in the French dub of My Little Pony (G3). She's an Alicorn goddess of Summer, Sports, and Rest who, as the Princess of Summer, was in charge of handling Third Age Ponyville's summer weather back when she was a mortal.
  • Meaningful Rename: Her birth name was Sunny Daze, and she was born a Tropical Pony whose main duty was handling the summer weather. However, after becoming a student of Luminiferous and Ascending to godhood as the Alicorn goddess of Summer, Sports, and Rest, she was renamed Princess Soleia. It reflects how much she changed while still keeping true to her mortal roots.
  • Mutants: She's a Tropical Pony, which not only gives her incredible heat resistance, but also the ability to manipulate heat. Her becoming an Alicorn goddess just enhanced her mutation and associated natural powers further.
  • The Nicknamer: Much like her G3 counterpart, she's prone to making up nicknames for her friends and loved ones. She has used "Razz" for Jiniri (after her friend's birth name, Razzaroo), "Sparks" for Sparkling Wing, and "Goldy" for Golden Scepter (which amused him).
  • Only the Chosen May Wield: As with her fellow Maidens, she became a chosen wielder of the four seasonal artifacts - in her case, she was chosen by the Sun Wand, which enhances her natural heat/weather-based powers and gives her fire magic. This got her named as Ponyville's 'Princess of Summer' with the accompanying duties of overseeing Ponyville's summer weather.
  • Playing with Fire: As the Alicorn goddess of Summer, her domain covers heat and sunlight, and being a Tropical Pony allows her to withstand intense heat and generate it at will. Notably, this allows her to swim in molten lava unharmed and create heat potent enough to burn dragons. Being the chosen holder of the Sun Wand amplifies her existing abilities and grants her additional pyrokinetic magic.
  • The Power of the Sun: As a goddess of Summer, she has and broad Weather Manipulation abilities that center around heat and sunlight. This allows her to banish and create storms, especially rainstorms and hurricanes (heat in sunlight is a factor behind stormy weather in the tropics) and withstand and generate heat (which also allows her to swim in molten lava unharmed). When combining her Summer domain with her Rest domain, she can heal herself faster than non-Summer/Rest deities when resting in sunlight. This also allows her to make sunlight either have a revitalizating effect on those resting in certain areas, or a draining, lethargic effect on enemies.
  • Related in the Adaptation: She's related to Melody and Ace of the Second Age, making her a cousin of the Muse Quartet (Jazzy/Nete, Muse/Mese, Rocky/Mneme, and Melody/Aoide) and their deceased mortal sister Rocky, who are all part of the G2 Musical Pony toyline.
  • Seasonal Baggage: She is part of the Third Age's Seasonal Maidens, four Pony mares who became the chosen wielders of artifacts whose magics correspond with the four seasons — in her case, she's the wielder of the Sun Wand, which gives her The Power of the Sun along with enhancing her natural heat powers and Weather Manipulation. This got her appointed as the Princess of Summer, overseeing all summer-related activities and protecting Ponyville during the summer. Later on, thanks to Luminiferous' tutelage, she Ascends and becomes the Alicorn goddess of Summer.
  • Stop Worshipping Me: At first, she felt uncomfortable with being worshiped, but Gagal persuaded her and her peers to accept worship on the grounds that their mortal worshipers are informed of their divine patrons' flaws.
  • Surfer Dude: Gender-inverted. She's described in her entry as a "surfer filly", as she's a sports-pony who loves surfing (even in lava) and is laid-back, relaxed, and mellow in terms of temperament. She is also very athletic and competitive, and has been known to challenge dragons to lava-surfing contests due to now living in a volcano. True to the trope, she speaks with the appropriate "surfer" accent and slang, which has gotten many deities trying to convince her to speak in a more conventional and/or refined way, but she always refused. Golden Scepter has encouraged this behavior because it makes her appear more relatable and down-to-earth, which in turn makes her beloved by her mortal followers.
  • Top God: A "King of the Gods" example; she's the founder and leader of the Kaluan Pantheon.
  • Totally Radical: Being a Surfer Dude in hobbies and personality, she often speaks this way, saying slang like "dudes/dudettes". This has gotten many deities trying to convince her to speak in a more conventional and/or refined way as befitting for a goddess of her age and station, but she hasn't listened to them, and her mortal followers like it because it makes her more approachable. Golden Scepter has encouraged this behavior because it also makes her appear down-to-earth and relatable to her mortal followers.
  • Truly Single Parent: Justified. When she revived the Second Age island of Tropica/Tropical Island and shaped it into Pulau Tropika, the resulting magical/karmic backlash led to the births of divine elemental Griffon triplets, Tahuna, Ngaru, and Kapua. She would adopt the triplets as her children after this.
  • Weather Manipulation: As the Alicorn goddess of Summer, she can manipulate the weather, which covers heat, sunlight, rain, and the creation of hurricanes. She can banish storms over a broad area and create them as well. Being the chosen wielder of the Sun Wand amplifies her existing abilities.
  • Winged Unicorn: Her entry describes her as an Alicorn goddess with a sunshine-yellow, magenta, tangerine, and lilac mane and tail, which are presently made of sunlight.

Tahuna, the One Born of Fire

Classification: Elemental

Portfolio: Volcanoes, Destruction, Life

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

"Calm down, dudes - I'm always on fire."

Tahuna (his entry here) is the Celestial Griffon god of Volcanoes, Destruction, and Life, and is a member of the Kaluan Pantheon's divine Elemental "triplets".
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's a Kaluan Griffon god who embodies Volcanoes, Destruction, and Life.
  • Appease the Volcano God: Averted. He's noted to be very unhappy with how Volcano deities in general (him included) are depicted as requesting frequent Pony sacrifices, and has publicly pointed out that he has passed decrees forbidding this practice.
  • Be Yourself: At one point, he felt insecure about his Surfer Dude mannerisms and Totally Radical speech that caused him to not be taken seriously by other deities, and tried suppressing them so he can be taken seriously. Emperor Golden Scepter advised him to simply be himself, not what others want him to be.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Once, his younger triplet sister Kapua was kidnapped by a group of villainous tribesponies with the aide of a warlock who sided with them. Once Tahuna was made aware of it, he emerged from the ground, forming a miniature volcano in the process, and burned Kapua's kidnappers in an instant. His entry notes that he did spare those who weren't involved in the kidnapping plot at all.
  • Destroyer Deity: He's a God of Destruction, though he is entirely benevolent and only destroys what is required or evildoers.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the One Born of Fire", due to having sprung from the volcanic activity that ensued when Princess Soleia resurrect the ruined Second Age island of Tropica/Tropical Island, now Pulau Tropika.
  • No-Sell: Being a god of Volcanoes, he likely has a poison immunity. One assassin tried to kill him with a poisoned drink, but said drink turned out to be made of lava.
  • Same-Sex Triplets: Averted. He's the only male in a set of mix-gendered Elemental 'triplets', his sisters being Ngaru and Kapua (though neither he or Ngaru aren't sure which of them is truly the oldest). He was also 'born' a Fire Elemental, whereas Ngaru was 'born' a Water Elemental and Kapua a Wind Elemental.
  • Tampering with Food and Drink: An assassin tried to take him out this way by poisoning his drink. Said drink was made of molten lava.
Tahuna: Dude... You tried to poison me?
    Assassin: U-Uh...
Tahuna: My drink was molten lava.
    Assassin: "..."
    Tahuna: You may now face-hoof.

Ngaru, the One Born of Water

Classification: Elemental

Portfolio: Ocean, Mystery, Life

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

"The Ocean is calling."

Ngaru (her entry here) is the Celestial Griffon goddess of Ocean, Mystery, and Life, and is a member of the Kaluan Pantheon's divine Elemental "triplets".
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a Kaluan Griffon goddess who embodies Ocean, Mystery, and Life.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the One Born of Water".
  • Making a Splash: As a goddess of Ocean, she has powerful water magics, being capable of creating massive ocean waves and manipulating the tides, as well as producing various water attacks, including water cutters. In addition, she is able to breath underwater and swim through it at high speeds and is immune to ocean pressure. When combined with her domain of Life, she can do things like bringing nutrients to feed sea animals (thus providing food for Pulau Tropika's islanders to eat), providing water required for local plant life to grow, and solidifying Tahuna's magma to form new land and islands for Kapua to seed with her winds.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name translates to "wave" in Malaysian and Maori. She's a Kaluan Griffon goddess who embodies the Ocean, which grants her water powers.
  • Same-Sex Triplets: Averted. She's one of two females in a set of mix-gendered Elemental 'triplets', her younger sister being Kapua and her brother being Tahuna (though neither she or Tahuna aren't sure which of them is truly the oldest). She was also 'born' a Water Elemental, whereas Kapua was 'born' a Wind Elemental and Tahuna a Fire Elemental.
  • Weather Manipulation: As a Griffon deity, she has her race's Weather Manipulation magic, but amplified greatly due to her divinity.

Kapua, the One Born of Wind

Classification: Elemental

Portfolio: Sky, Grace, Life

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

"Sometimes it's fun to have somewhere you want to go, but other times it's fun to just spend the day going where the winds take you!"

Kapua (her entry here) is the Celestial Griffon goddess of Sky, Grace, and Life, and is a member of the Kaluan Pantheon's divine Elemental 'triplets'.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a Kaluan Griffon goddess who embodies Sky, Grace, and Life.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the One Born of Wind".
  • Same-Sex Triplets: Averted. She's one of two females in a set of mix-gendered Elemental 'triplets', her older sister being Ngaru and her older brother being Tahuna. She was also 'born' a Wind Elemental, whereas Ngaru was 'born' a Water Elemental and Tahuna a Fire Elemental.

    Makariri, the Icy Beauty

Classification: Elemental

Portfolio: Snow, Beauty, Envy

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

Makariri (her entry here) is the Kaluan Griffon goddess of Snow, Beauty, and Envy, and is the 'little sister' of the Kaluan Pantheon's divine Elemental 'triplets'.

    Wairua, the Hostess of Spirits

Classification: Ethereal

Portfolio: Death, Communion, Incarnation

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

Wairua (her entry here) is the Hippogriff goddess of Death, Communion, and Incarnation, and is the Kaluan Pantheon's local Death deity.
  • All Your Powers Combined: Being half-Alicorn through her father, Gavisus Manes, she has the combined magics of all Pony tribes, though it's somewhat diluted due to her being a hybrid.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She's a Hippogriff goddess who embodies Death, Communion, and Incarnation.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: One of her flaws is that she can sometimes be distracted by things that entice her.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: While her domains make her extremely good at fighting spiritual enemies, they are also very ill-suited for fighting physical threats, which forces her to rely on both her divine power as a goddess and her hybrid racial magics.
  • Dem Bones: Like her father, Gavisus Manes, she has skeletal wings, but because she prefers to have her hindquarters transformed into an aquatic tail, she has skeletal tail fins as well.
  • Divine Parentage: She is a daughter of Ngaru and Gavisus Manes, making her a granddaughter of both Princess Soleia through her mother and Obitus Equus through her father.
  • Don't Fear the Reaper: Like her father, Gavisus Manes, she is a playful and fun-loving Death goddess who loves throwing parties for the dead and treasures her familiy deeply. She oversees the Aumakua, the equivalent of Angels in Pulau Tropika, and lets spirits incarnate as one so they can be with their families again in some capacity. She is also extremely protective of the souls she ferries and makes sure they are treated well by mortals; anyone who doesn't earns her ferocious wrath.
  • Gentle Giant: Being a Hippogriff goddess, she is phyiscally larger than her mother and many of her maternal family, though she is not as large as Princess Soleia, her maternal grandmother. She is also a playful, fun-loving goddess who takes after both of her parents, but otherwise takes her duties as a Death goddess very seriously. One of said duties involves overseeing the Aumakua, spirits that were incarnated into physical forms so they can protect their families in the mortal planes. Anyone who refuses to show hospitality towards spirits or tries to use them for malicious purposes naturally enrages her.
  • Guardian Entity: As a goddess of Incarnation, she can create Aumakua, mortal souls that were incarnated into physical forms so they can serve as protectors and/or advisors for their living families. The Aumakua normally appear as animals that hold significant importance to the families they protect, and possess supernatural powers, but they are bound to the mortal planes until they die again in their Aumakua state, after which they must pass on to the afterlife. As a Death goddess, her secondary duty involves overseeing the Aumakua, lending to her other title, "Queen of the Aumakua.
  • Heavenly Blue: She is a Hippogriff goddess with the back half of a light blue Pony, and she has blue tribal markings in accordance to Pulau Tropikan culture. She's also the Kaluan Pantheon's local Death goddess, albeit one who deals with spiritual communing as well as dealing with spiritual threats.
  • The High Queen: Her alternate title is "Queen of the Aumakua", and one of her duties is to oversee the Aumakua, deceased souls allowed to incarnate back into the mortal planes as guardian spirits to protect their families. The Aumakua are Pulau Tropika's equivalent to Angels, and turning into one is essentially a second chance for the dead to be with their loved ones again, which she allows as long as they perform their duties. However, if an Aumakkua dies, then they have to pass on to the afterlife.
  • Hooks and Crooks: As a Death goddess, she carries around a scythe like her fellow Trimortidae, but hers has a blade shaped like a fishing hook.
  • Hot-Blooded: One of her flaws is that she can be hotheaded at times, a trait inherited from her mother, Ngaru.
  • Hybrid Power: She is a Hippogriff goddess, though of the bulky variety due to having an Alicorn father and a Celestial Griffon mother, which gives her enhanced strength at the cost of lowered agility and speed. She also has the combined magics of all Pony tribes from her father, and weather magics from her mother.
  • Karmic Transformation: As a goddess of Incarnation, she can forcibly transform wicked spirits and demons into physical forms as punishment for their crimes. Her power also applies to deities she found wanting, provided she's strong enough to overpower them.
  • Large Ham: She is an energetic and bombastic goddess who loves song, dance, and riddles.
  • Like Father, Unlike Son: Zigzagged. While more mysterious and cryptic than her joyful, party-loving father, she is more upfront, playful, and energetic than her mother, and is a good host who often throws afterlife parties for the dead. She also is enraged by mistreatment of the dead like her father, and has inherted her mother's love for riddles.
  • Magic Hair: Feathers, in her case. As a Hippogriff goddess, she has head feathers that taper into will-o-wisps, with two extremely long feathers that resemble the tentacles of a squid.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Hostess of Spirits".
  • Meaningful Name: Wairua is a Māori term for a spirit associated with a person or thing. As a Death goddess, one of her duties involves overseeing the Aumakua, which are spirits incarnated as physical beings to protect their families.
  • Our Griffons Are Different: She is a Hippogriff due to her parents being a Pony and a Griffon, though in her case, her father is Gavisus Manes, an Alicorn god, while her mother is Ngaru, a Celestial Griffon goddess. This makes her much bulkier and stronger physically, though slightly slower and less agile, and her head resembles an Equine with a beak. And like her mother, she is also a Celestial Griffon, which is a divine version of a normal Griffon and has enhanced versions of their racial powers.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different: While not a true Mergriffon, she resembles one because of her preference to have her hindquarters transformed into a fish's tail to better emulate her mother, Ngaru, a Celestial Griffon goddess of Ocean.
  • Reincarnation: As a goddess of Incarnation, she can allow spirits to incarnate as Aumakua, guardian spirits that serve as protectors or advisors for family members in the mortal planes. She can also deal with wicked spirits, demons, and even deities by putting them in mortal forms as punishment.
  • Sacred Hospitality: While she loves throwing parties like her father does, she takes hospitality very seriously, especially hospitality towards the dead. If someone mistreats the dead or summons them with malicious intent (such as binding a soul to eternal servitude against their wil), she will show a ferocious wrath towards the offenders. This plays into her title as "the Hostess of Spirits", and is the reason why she's extremely protective of the spirits she ferries in Pulau Tropika.
  • Sinister Scythe: Subverted. She has a scythe shaped like a fish hook, but it's merely both part of her job as a Death goddess and reflective of Pulau Tropikan culture.
  • Small Parent, Huge Child: Due to being a divine Hippogriff, she is physically larger than her mother, Ngaru, as well as many other family members on her mother's side. However, she is smaller than her grandmother, Soleia, who is older and bigger than her.
  • Soul Power: As a goddess of Commumion, she has various spiritual powers, including manifesting the dead in the mortal world as visible spirits, and banishing both wicked spirits and demons. She can also communicate with other deities spiritually. It's noted that she gets more mileage from her domain due to Pulau Tropika having more lenient views towards necromancy, but messing with spirits, whether for trivial or malicious reasons, is still considered taboo.
  • Weather Manipulation: Being half-Griffon through her mother, Ngaru, she has her parent race's weather magic, though it's somewhat diluted due to her being a hybrid.

    Gagal, the Earnest One

Classification: Ethereal/Ascendant

Portfolio: Earnestness, Faults, Failures

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

"There is nothing wrong with accepting or living with your flaws and failures. It does not make you any 'lesser' or 'stupid', as some might claim. It's merely a sign that you are sapient, and being sapient is a part of life."

Gagal (his entry here) is the Kirin god of Earnestness, Faults, and Failures, and he serves an important role that many deities benefit from.
  • Albinos Are Freaks: Downplayed: he was bullied for being albino as a child, but once he reached adulthood, it didn't really become an issue anymore. Instead the main issue his albinism causes him is photosensitivity.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's a Kaluan Kirin god who embodies Earnestness, Faults, and Failures.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Though a compassionate god who is earnest in accepting his own flaws and helping other deities accept theirs, he takes issue with people refusing to accept their own flaws, harming others in the process. He is particularly furious with people who try forcing others to experience the consequences of their own mistakes, such as those who use Judicial Replacements.
  • Blind People Wear Sunglasses: Downplayed. While not blind like Healing Song, his albinism makes his eyes photosensitive, albeit lessened thanks to his divinity. He frequently wears sunglasses solely to protect his eyes.
  • Brutal Honesty: His entry notes that he can be overly blunt. This might upset people, though he will point out that sometimes it's necessary, especially when people need to gain awareness of their own flaws so they can accept them. However, he'll acknowledge that he made a mistake if he applies brutal honesty in a situation where it isn't necessary.
  • Commonality Connection:
    • He and Prince Healing Song are friends due to both of them having vision problems - Gagal's photosensitive eyes are the result of albinism (though his divinity lessens it), while Healing Song was blinded from having his eyes surgically removed by doctors after he developed Retinoblastoma as a baby. Despite the problems that come with their conditions, they have both come to accept them and never let their conditions define or embitter them.
    • He and Prince Shamrock have also bonded due to both of them being The Klutz, something they have accepted as part of themselves.
  • Cool Shades: Like Princess Soleia, his teacher, he has a collection of sunglasses he frequently wears. This is due to, being albino, his eyes are photosensitive.
  • Deity of Human Origin: He was originally a mortal Kirin who eventually Ascended to godhood under Princess Soleia's tutelage.
  • Disability as an Excuse for Jerkassery: Defied. Despite being bullied by other foals for his albinism, he accepted his condition for what it is and refused to let it define or embitter him in any way. This is thanks to the positive influence of his parents, who encouraged him to accept all parts of himself, both good and bad. One of the reasons why he befriended Prince Healing Song is his admiration for the older Alicorn for accepting his blindness and refusing to let it embitter him as well.
  • Disabled Deity: He was born with albinism; while he's not blind like Healing Song, he suffers from bad eyesight and he's extremely photosensitive, forcing him to wear sunglasses and carry umbrellas with him all the time. However, like Healing Song, he never let his disability embitter him and instead bsees it as a fault that he's willing to work with. He was bullied for being albino as a foal, but he didn't let it affect him, and his albinism didn't really become a social issue anymore once he reached adulthood.
  • Emotion Suppression: Deconstructed. At one point in his youth, he tried bottling up his anger - and by extension, his Nirik form - like other Kirins did. However, it's emotionally unhealthy, and he had to learn the consequences of his actions once his anger inevitably boiled over. Afterwards, he developed ways to deal with his anger issues constructively, such as meditation and hard work.
  • Freudian Excuse: Defied. Although he was born with albinism and suffered in his early years for it (including bullying), his parents influenced him to accept his albinism as part of himself while refusing to let it embitter him in any way.
  • God Is Good: He's a divine Kirin who believes in accepting one's flaws and failures, as well as being earnest with his beliefs. He also essentially serves as a therapist who helps deities acknowledge and accept their own flaws and failures so they can grow as people.
  • Handicapped Badass: While not completely blind like Healing Song, his albinism makes him visually photosensitive, requiring him to wear sunglasses for protection. He's also a god and competent fighter who has turned his natural klutziness into Confusion Fu.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: As a "Tier III"-ranked god, he's younger than his friend Healing Song, who is a "Tier IV"-ranked god from the Second Age. This applies to Prince Shamrock and Moon River as well.
  • Interspecies Friendship: He's a divine Kirin, while his friends Healing Song and Shamrock Bloom are Alicorns. Another friend of his is Moon River, a mortal Earthpony.
  • Karmic Jackpot: His actions in accepting his flaws and learning from his mistakes would lead to him becoming Princess Soleia's student under the direction of Luminiferous, who noticed his potential to become a god that helped other gods accept their own flaws and mistakes. He would eventually succeed in Ascending to godhood.
  • Magic Hair: Post-Ascension, his mane and tail became composed of Earnestness energy.
  • The Magnificent: Known as "the Earnest One", due to being a god of Earnestness and someone who is earnest in accepting his own flaws and failures. He is also earnest in helping other deities accept their own flaws so they can be more comfortable with themselves and being worshiped by mortals.
  • Meaningful Name: His name translates to "fail" in Malaysian. He is a god of Faults and Failures, though he is a helpful, compassionate god who accepts his own faults and failures. One of the reasons why Luminiferous wanted him to Ascend is because he has the potential to help other deities accept their own faults and failures despite how difficult it might be, so they can be more comfortable with being worshiped by mortals.
  • Upbringing Makes the Hero: Despite being born an albino Kirin (which got him bullied by foals as a colt), his parents still loved him and notably encourage him to accept himself for who he is, flaws and all. This had a huge influence on how he perceived flaws and failures in general, as by the present day, he's responsible for helping other deities overcome their discomfort towards being worshiped and accept their own flaws.
  • Weakened by the Light: He's an albino, and thus his eyes and skin are photosensitive, and thus he needs to wear sunglasses and protect himself from sunlight. It's downplayed after becoming a god, as he's both much tougher and can regenerate from damage, but he still needs eye protection and to keep in the shade or he'll sunburn.

    'Princess' Cold Heart, the Troublemaker

Classification: Ascendant/Ethereal

Portfolio: Mischief, Evil, Unpleasantness

Rank: Divine (Tier III/Intermediate)

"Being unpleasant is my game! With my schemes you will know my name! MWAHAHAHA!"

'Princess' Cold Heart (her entry here) is the Draconequus goddess of Mischief, Evil, and Unpleasantness from the time of the 'Third Age', and a champion of Adversus, the Adversity Primeval.

While her domains may paint her as a dangerous, malicious goddess, in reality like many villains of Third Age she is of a more Noble Demon disposition, largely operating as a jerk who likes to play pranks on people and cause trouble as a villainess in order to shake things up and challenge the noble-hearted heroes of her time, while avoiding causing actual harm and destruction. With her reawakening and return in the Fourth Age, she had since joined up with the Kaluan Pantheon and ready to cause mischief and unpleasantness once again in a new world full of new heroes and people.
  • Anthropomorphic Personification: She is a Kaluan Draconequus goddess who embodies Mischief, Evil, and Unpleasantness.
  • Benevolent Boss: She cares for the 'evil' minions she hires to pull off her villainous schemes and goes out of her way to save them, so long as they don't do anything too villainous even for her tastes. Needless to say, her minions - especially the Mignons among them - love her for it.
  • Beware the Silly Ones:
    • While she may seem like a Laughably Evil Ineffectual Sympathetic Villain whose schemes to get things she want, pull off spectacular pranks, showing off and irritate others in general almost inevitably gets foiled, this is mostly out of Contractual Genre Blindness. She is dangerously cunning and effective when she wants to be. Just ask Lady Kimono/Princess Kouyou - who was the World's Smartest Pony at the time and an Arch-Enemy of Sekra the Indomitable herself - about that time she manages to steal the four Seasonal Artifacts of the Seasonal Princesses and challenged them to get them back.
    • She manages to scare the absolute living crap out of a Hydianite Witch in a confrontation after Cold Heart gets mad at her for not only being a truly malicious and harmful villain, but also at the accusation the witch levelled that Cold Heart is an incompetent Harmless Villain. She showed her that, when the gloves come off, she REALLY can be dangerously terrifying and terrifyingly dangerous.
    • A Time Travel incident showed the Third Age Ponies an alternate timeline where Cold Heart never had any real friends and turned into a truly vile villain as a result. While the details were not shown, it was apparently so terrifying that even Cold Heart was disturbed when she found out about it.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Plays the role of a trouble-making villain and thoroughly enjoys it, like many similar villains in the Third Age.
  • The Champion: Of Adversus, the Adversity Primeval, given her dedication to causing trouble for heroes and gods of the Third Age, frequently challenging them and force them to become better instead of stagnate in complacency.
  • Contractual Genre Blindness: Like many Third Age villains, she could be far more dangerous and cunning than she usually does when pulling off villainous schemes and battling heroes, but avoids it to make it more 'fun' and challenging for herself and her opponents, on top of avoiding causing actual damage and hurt.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • She would cause trouble at a heartbeat for Ponyville and Ponyland as jerkass troublemaking villain, but frowns upon causing actual harm out of actual malice with her villainous antics, and won't hesitate to stand up against worse villains who does them in defense of their potential victims. She also lays off those she antagonizes on their birthdays and when Santa Hooves visits, as even she believes ruining their fun on those days is going too far.
'Princess' Cold Heart: What? Even I'm not that much of a jerk! note
    • She was horrified when she discovered that the damned spirits she was pranking and tormenting in the Kaluan Pantheon's Hell-Realms were actually Judicial Replacements, magical sapient golems built by their creators to be punished in their place while the creators themselves get off scot-free, making the Judicial Replacements completely innocent.
  • Evil Mentor: For a given definition of 'Evil.' She has inspired and trained others to be Constructive Evil villains like herself, including White Jasmine/Le Parfumeur who she encouraged to stop caring about what others thought about her taste in perfume and become a Mad Artist supervillainess.
  • Evil Is Petty: Not in the spiteful way, but her modus operandi is generally being a Jerkass villainess who causes irritations and troubles for heroes and normal folks so life in the Third Age is less boring. She once painted all of Ponyland in garish, randomized colours with magically-enchanted 'Colour Paint Bombs' after noticing that all the Ponies kept their colours the same throughout the years and decided to add her own 'personal touch', much to everypony's annoyance.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Was this for 'Third Age' Ponyville and many of its notable figures. She's antagonistic and causes trouble, but they recognize her heart of gold deep down and largely just put up with it whenever it comes. They would legitimately worry if she doesn't show up to cause trouble every now and then.
  • For the Evulz: More For the Lulz, but she essentially chose to become a villainess out of boredom of Ponyville's peaceful, goody-two-shoe life and decides that the place needs shake-ups every now and then by a certified jerkass troublemaker. Also justified as she became a God of Evil post-ascension, albeit of the 'Constructive Evil' variety like Temnobog.
  • The Gadfly: Cold Heart loves getting a rise out of others getting annoyed/inconvenienced by her antics and schemes.
  • God of Evil: She is this following her Ascension, with Evil being part of her domain, though like some of the Noble Demon villains of the Third Age she's a Constructive Evil type like Temnobog, the Dark One.
  • Good Is Boring: Her opinion, which is why she chose villainy and mischief, believing that someone has to do it in order to shake things up.
  • Good Needs Evil: Believes in this like Temnobog, being a Constructive Evil villain and later deity who sees that the world needs jerkasses and villains to challenge them in order to force them to grow instead of remaining stagnant, and despite all the trouble and inconvenience she caused she ultimately wishes the best for her friends and the world, even if they don't really like her for it.
  • Humiliation Conga: Often on the receiving end when her villainous schemes fails and she gets caught up in the wipe-out, though she's usually fine with it after an obligatory Villainous Breakdown. Ironically, she never does anything that would put someone through this, believing that would be going too far (Exceptions being, naturally, the truly evil and malicious who legitimately had it coming).
  • Jerkass: Is a Jerk and proud of it, even declaring herself "The Biggest Jerk in Ponyville/Ponyland", but she is nicer than she looks and acts.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Is rude, belligerent, inconsiderate and generally acts like an unpleasant Jerkass, but doesn't truly want to cause harm and suffering, and cares for her friends and denizens Ponyville and Ponyland deep down, even if she would never admit it, going out of her way to stand with them against worse villains as well as protecting them in times of crises.
'Princess' Cold Heart: [To Soleia] I might be a jerk, but I'm your jerk.
  • Laughably Evil: She is noted both in-universe and out-universe that while she's a jerkass villain, when it comes down to it she and her antics are quite hilarious, and her villainy never becomes truly cruel, humiliating, or dangerous for others.
  • Love Redeems: Sort of. In the present day, she hooked up with an evil ex-member of the Kaluan Pantheon who had joined up with a Fallen pantheon and manages to convince him to go from being 'Destructive Evil' to 'Constructive Evil', resulting in him eventually deciding to betray his evil comrades to the forces of good and begin an official relationship with her. This act earns Cold Heart a place in the Kaluan Pantheon under Princess Soleia and a position with her new coltfriend overseeing the Pantheon's Hell-realm.
  • Noble Demon: Like many villains of the Third Age, she was this, not wanting to cause harm or more harm than needed, relishes in challenging and being challenged by heroes, and would stand with those she bothers against even worse evils when the situation requires.
  • Noblewoman's Laugh: Her 'hooting' laughter is implied to be like this.
  • The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Or rather, 'Only One Allowed To Pester Them', being that while she frequently causes trouble for Ponyville and later Ponyland as a villain, she would also readily defend them from even worse villains.
'Princess' Cold Heart: No Pony gets to be a jerk to my friends but me!
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: Downplayed, but to the genuinely evil and vilely villainous whom even she reviles, she doesn't hesitate to put through some truly humiliating sanctions.
  • The Prankster: She had tried to replace all Ponyvilles' lunches with overripe cheese, stealing and hiding other Ponies items, once painted the entirety of Ponyland in garish colours via magical paint bombs, among other pranks and jibes to annoy/inconvenience the ever living life out of Ponyville/Ponyland as part of her concerted efforts to shake things up and make life interesting (and challenging) for her fellow Ponies and also later her fellow goddesses.
  • Poke the Poodle: Invoked at one point, though said 'poodle' is a damned shade in the Kuluan Pantheon's hell-realm who she tormented by poking with a stick, repeatedly.note  The undignified and unrepentant soul could do no''thing but curse in his restraints for all eternity.note
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Gave one to a Hydianite Witch in the modern day, not only calling the witch out for her harmful malice but also that, contrary to the witch's belief, she and other Third Age Villains are far more dangerous than they look, and that they are not incompetent by nature, but by choice. She proceeded to scare the absolute living crap out of the Hydianite by pretending to go truly evil on her.
'Princess' Cold Heart: Let me make one thing perfectly clear: villains from our era didn't hold back on being really bad because we're incapable of it. We don't because we just don't feel like it! In the long run, it'd make things harder for us and the world to be real nasty. And you know, because we like having friends. You want to know what I could do if I decided to stop being 'just' a big meanie and wanted to be really rotten to the core? Well, torture is pretty dang unpleasant, isn't it? Lucky for you I like just being an endearing jerk!
  • Sensory Abuse: One of her domains is unpleasantness, and her power in that area manifests in part as this, allowing her to bombard and defile the senses of her opponents to nauseating, uncomfortable and even agonizing effect, from merely annoying to truly torturous.
  • Supervillain Lair: Yes, she got herself one of these, which is located at a mountaintop next to Ponyville. Let it never be said she doesn't do things halfway when she decided to upgrade herself from mere 'annoying jerk' to 'antagonistic villain'.
  • Then Let Me Be Evil: Not out of resentment, but boredom of her Ponyville life, thinking it is deadbeat and needs someone who's a jerk or a villain to stir the pot every now and then. And since no one would do either...
  • Tickle Torture: Inflicted a form of this upon at least one of the damned shades of the Hell-Realm she and her colt-friend is presently running, poking them with an enchanted, irritation-causing stick. When they started cursing her out for it, she moves straight on to Soap Punishment to clean their dirty mouths.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Her pursuing ascension through the supervision/trials of the Adversai, scions of Adversus, the Adversity Primeval. By her own admission, this is due to her neighbours ascending as well and believing that she needs to keep up or fall behind. And thus she became a God of Evil, Mischief and Unpleasantness, which allow her to upgrade herself from merely 'The Biggest Jerk in Ponyville' to being 'The Biggest Jerk of Ponyland' (And Unicornia on occasion).
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Invoked by her deliberately when she realize how boring life is in Ponyville and decides to shake things up as a trouble-making Jerkass, Villain and eventually God of Evil.
  • Villain Forgot to Level Grind: Lampshaded and subverted. Keeping up with her friends/neighbours who had Ascended to Alicornhood - so she could continue to effectively annoy them - was the reason she decided to pursue godhood herself, becoming a Draconequus goddess of Evil, Mischief and Unpleasantness.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Invoked deliberately by Cold Heart when playing the role of a villain every time her trouble-making schemes were foiled. She usually gets over them quickly and move on to do other things.
'Princess' Cold Heart: GRAAAH! Foiled again! [Beat] Oh well, what can you do? So, who wants to go out for dinner?

    Atarangi, the (Insert Title Here)

Classification: TBA

Portfolio: Shadow, Evil, War

Rank: TBA

  • Anthropomorphic Personification: He's a Kaluan god who embodies Shadow, Evil, and War.
  • God of Evil: Embodies Evil as well as Shadow and War, and was for a time a Fallen, villainous deity. Hooking up with 'Princess' Cold Heart didn't change his alignment but changes his Evil from 'Destructive' to 'Constructive'.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Sort of. He's still Evil, but thanks to falling in love with 'Princess' Cold Heart decides to do so constructively instead of destructively.
  • Hell: Currently runs the Kaluan Pantheon's official Hell-Realm with 'Princess' Cold Heart, with jurisdiction over the damned shades and infinite losers who ended up there.
  • Inevitable Mutual Betrayal: A drabble noted that his peers in the Fallen Pantheon he was in would had eventually turn on each other anyway (which to be fair, he was planning to do the same), so sees nothing wrong with betraying them first. It still manages to catch his Evil divine comrades by surprise.
  • Love Redeems: Played with. While still evil, Cold Heart managed to persuade him into becoming a constructively villainous god again, in the process causing Atarangi to fall in love with her. After betraying the Fallen pantheon he was once a part of, he rejoined the Kaluan Pantheon (whose leader, Princess Soleia, kicked him out for various crimes) and now runs the local Hell-Realms together with Cold Heart.
  • Unholy Matrimony: With 'Princess' Cold Heart, and currently runs the Kaluan Pantheon's Hell-Realm together.
