Cody, the Geek
- Blatant Lies: When he told Sierra that Noah liked her.
- Catchphrase: "So, wanna make out?"
- Character Development: He grows from the hopeless and perverted little dweeb seen on the canonical World Tour to prove himself to be a genuinely kind and loyal person to those he loves.
- Heroic BSoD: After Courtney is eliminated.
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Deconstructed. After learning Courtney still has feelings for Duncan, he wants her to go back to Duncan, believing that he wants to get back with her too. This causes Cody a lot of emotional pain, and it backfires spectacularly after Duncan gets Courtney voted off.
- Love Triangle: With Courtney and Duncan.
- Second Love: To Courtney.
Courtney, the Counselor in Training
- Action Girl: See her karate chopping alligators and roundhousing sharks.
- Character Development: She spends a good portion of the story conflicted on whether Cody or Duncan is the one she truly loves. After Duncan votes her out in China, she eventually realises Cody is the one she loves.
- Love Triangle: With Cody and Duncan.
- Odd Friendship: With Ezekiel.
- Shipper on Deck: Supports Noah/Sierra, much to Noah's dismay.
- Single Woman Seeks Good Man: She chooses the good-hearted Cody over the Jerk with a Heart of Gold Duncan.
- Tranquil Fury: She has these moments as her character grows.
Duncan, the Delinquent
- Animal Motif: Dogs, in both positive and negative ways.
- The Atoner: Towards the end, where he helps Cody and Courtney in the Volcano challenge out of guilt.
- Character Development: He eventually accepts that he and Courtney will never be a couple again and gives his full blessings towards Cody/Courtney.
- Honor Before Reason: His self elimination in Africa.
- Idiot Ball: He should had known better than to trust Alejandro. Somewhat justified since he knew very little about what Alejandro was like due to be absent from the game until the halfway point, but even then, Duncan's usually a lot savvier than that.
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Played straight.
- Love Triangle: With Cody and Courtney.
- Morality Pet: Mohawk the dog, even prior to his main Character Development.
- My God, What Have I Done?: After learning the truth behind Courtney's elimination
- Odd Friendship: With Bridgette, near the end.
- Took a Level in Jerkass: Though he gets better later.
- Unwitting Pawn: Becomes one for Alejandro.
Sierra, the Uber-fan
- Action Girl: Less than Courtney, but she has her moments too.
- Big "NO!": At the end of the Niagara Falls challenge after Cody and Courtney have gotten fake-married.
- Character Development: She eventually accepts that she and Cody are Better as Friends, and gives her full approval towards Cody/Courtney.
- Hopeless Suitor: Towards Cody.
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Played straight: when she finally realises that Cody loves Courtney and not her, she's perfectly happy to support the two in any way that she can.
- Shipper on Deck: Ships Cody/Courtney when she finally accepts that Cody will never return her feelings.
- Single-Target Sexuality: Initially, but she eventually changes her target from Cody to Noah. Yay for Noah.
Ezekiel, the Homeschooled guy
- Adaptational Intelligence: While Ezekiel starts the fic feral like he was in canon, here he retains enough of his human intelligence to speak and interact with people like his human self would, as opposed to his canon self being little more than a snarling animal.
- Amazon Chaser: One of his first acts upon winning the million dollars is to plant a kiss on Eva, much to her confusion.
- Darkhorse Victory: He manages to win the volcano challenge after accidentally throwing the Heather doll in himself, and ends up named the winner of the show as a result of several loopholes.
- Guile Hero
- Odd Friendship: With Courtney.
- Sanity Slippage: Like in canon, only toned down: he still retains some human intelligence, the ability to speak and his hat.
- Shipper on Deck: The first Cody/Courtney shipper of the fic.
- Third-Person Person: Speaks in this manner.
Alejandro, the Archvillain
- Animals Hate Him: In many of the challenges, he gets attacked by animals, like roosters, lions, and octopuses.
- Animal Motifs: Snakes.
- Big Bad: As per canon, although he's arguably even worse this time around.
- Breaking Speech: Delivers one to Duncan in the final challenge. It doesn't work.
- Sanity Slippage: During the final challenge.
- Screams Like a Little Girl: A Running Gag throughout the story is having him do this.
- Übermensch: Believes himself to be this, even claiming to be Above Good and Evil.
Gwen, the Goth
- Character Development: Eventually.
- Ship Tease: With Trent, after she and Duncan's relationship is over.
- Took a Level in Jerkass: Though she gets better.
- The Vamp: Tried to charm Cody into voting for Courtney in Australia. It didn't work.
- Villainous Breakdown: She isn't exactly a villain, but she certainly loses it when she finds that Cody voted against her instead of Courtney, causing her elimination.
Owen, the Big Guy
- Comically Missing the Point: As Noah points out, he really misses the concept of a FAKE wedding.
- Shipper on Deck: Supports Cody/Courtney.
- Token Good Teammate: Owen is forced into joining Heather's team along with Alejandro for the volcano challenge against Cody, Courtney and Duncan. Despite this, he's perfectly happy to act as The Load for Heather in the hopes of helping Cody win.
Noah, the High IQ
- Butt-Monkey: Due to being best friends with Owen, he's the victim of a lot of physical comedy.
- Launcher of a Thousand Ships: In universe. Though he resents that most ships are with other guys.
- Shipper on Deck: Like Owen, he ships Cody/Courtney, only with less enthusiasm.
- Ship Tease: In-universe, with Cody, Owen and Sierra. (Of the three, Sierra is the one that he's most enthusiastic about. But not very.)
- Sick and Wrong: What he thinks of the Cody/himself pairing.
- Spanner in the Works: Becomes one for Duncan and Alejandro.
- This Is Gonna Suck: When Sierra sets him as the new target of her affections.
Heather, the Queen Bee
- Animal Motif: She winds up being described in relation to cats a lot.
- Dark Mistress: To Alejandro.
- Flat Character: She lacks any of the Jerk with a Heart of Gold traits she developed in favour of making her a generic villainess.
Geoff, the Party Guy
- Shipper on Deck: Supports Duncan/Courtney.
- What the Hell, Hero??: His initial reaction upon meeting Duncan for first time in the fic, since he wasn't happy with the way he treated Courtney.
DJ, the Brickhouse with a Heart
- Shipper on Deck: Supports Duncan/Courtney.
Bridgette, the Surfer Girl
- Odd Friendship: With Duncan, due to her shared sympathy over the guilt Duncan begins feeling for cheating on his significant other.
Harold, the Uber-Nerd
- Blatant Lies: He claims that he knew that Cody and Courtney would end up together since the first day of TDI.
- Shipper on Deck: Supports Cody/Courtney.
Alien Cody, the Geek from Outer Space
- Aliens Speaking English
- All Aliens Have Superpowers
- Ascended Extra: The author thought a thirty-second one-off gag wasn't quite enough for this character.
- Evil Twin: Of Cody, obviously.
- Galactic Conqueror: Or that's what he claims.
- Large Ham
- Lamarck Was Right: Apparently having Cody's DNA makes him a pervert. Also, he instinctively dislikes Sierra and Duncan.
- Sophisticated as Hell
- Spared by the Adaptation: While in canon, he exploded after being hugged by Sierra moments after his creation, here he survives and makes recurring appearances in this story.
- Suddenly Voiced: On the show he dies without ever speaking; here he talks, and according to the author's notes, he sounds like Vegeta.
- Superior Species: Well, he constantly refers humans as primitive and less intelligent.
- Weaksauce Weakness: He inherited all of Cody's allergies, which apparently also take away his superpowers.
