Love Interests

    In General
  • Everyone Is Bi: They can all be romanced regardless of the player's gender.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: If playing as Alexios. With the exception of Xenia, every female love interest is about a whole head shorter than him and pretty dwarfed by him in terms of muscle.
  • May–December Romance: At least three of them are old enough to be the Eagle Bearer's parent.
  • Maybe Ever After: Some of their questlines conclude with the Eagle Bearer and their Love Interest agreeing to part for now, but leave it ambiguous whether they'll reconnect in the future.
  • Optional Party Member: Odessa and Roxana can, at the end of their romance plotlines, be recruited as lieutenants aboard the Adrestia.
  • Optional Sexual Encounter: Most of them are little more than one-time flings.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: If playing as Kassandra, all of the male love interests are about half a head or more shorter than her. She will even pick up a couple of them during their kissing animations.
  • Romance Sidequest: While some of the love interests can be met during the main story, the majority of romance content is in side quests.

Base Game

    Aikaterine

Aikaterine

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aikaterine_aco.png

The muse of the Athenian star actor Thespis.

  • Double Entendre: She tells the Eagle Bearer to bring back Rhexenor's "little sword" as proof that he's dead. When the Eagle Bearer brings back his actual sword, she says that it's "not quite the sword [she] meant," but does accept it as proof.
  • Has a Type: Apparently the Eagle Bearer (regardless of if they're Kassandra or Alexios) has more muscle than her usual preference.

    Alkibiades
A student of Sokrates and the adopted son of Perikles. See his entry in The Greek World.

    Auxesia

Auxesia

An elderly lady whose husband cannot match her sexual appetite.
  • Dirty Old Woman: She definitely has an appreciation for the much younger Eagle Bearer's body, and can end up sleeping with them.
  • Lovable Sex Maniac: Is quite proud of her sexual exploits, which have yet to end despite her age.
  • Really Gets Around: She apparently has many lovers.

    Daphnae

Daphnae

The leader of the Daughters of Artemis who requests the pelts of various legendary beasts.
  • Don't Make Me Destroy You: The Eagle Bearer can try to appeal to Daphnae to let them not fight at the end of her questline, since the outcome assumed by everyone involved is that the Eagle Bearer will kill her. Even if they are able to avoid the fight, however, they can never return, since she and the rest of the Daughters of Artemis become hostile in that case.
  • Dying Declaration of Love: If the Eagle Bearer romanced her and agrees to kill her at the end of her questline, she tells them before she dies that she's glad to leave her sisters to someone she loves.
  • Starcrossed Lovers: Once the Eagle Bearer has defeated all of the legendary beasts and returned their pelts to Daphnae, she tells them that hunting the beasts was a trial set by Artemis from time to time to discover the next person worthy of leading the Daughters of Artemis. Since the Eagle Bearer passed the trial, they must kill Daphnae in mortal combat and take her place as leader. No matter what the romance ends badly, either with the Eagle Bearer killing Daphnae and taking her place, or with Daphnae banishing the Eagle Bearer if they refuse.
  • You Kill It, You Bought It: Fights the Eagle Bearer to the death at the end of her quest, relinquishing her branch of the Daughters of Artemis upon death.

    Diona

Diona

A priestess of Aphrodite. See her entry in The Cult of Kosmos.

    Kosta

Kosta the Blacksmith

A blacksmith who worked on a sword that was a gift to Supideo from his parents.

    Kyra and Thaletas

In General

A strained couple who have conflicting strategies on how to take down Podarkes.
  • Bisexual Love Triangle: With multiple configurations. As they were already in a relationship with each other when the Eagle Bearer shows up, it's possible for one of them to be pining for the other while the other pines for the Eagle Bearer or for both to be pining for the Eagle Bearer.
  • Inconvenient Attraction: Their relationship with each other causes some angst when they realize they're developing feelings for the Eagle Bearer as well.
  • Star-Crossed Lovers: Depending on your actions, only one of them may be left alive after you've completed their quest line. If Kyra is romanced, Thaletas will accuse you of stealing her and try to kill you. You can then choose to withhold knowledge of Thaletas's death, or tell Kyra yourself and suffer the consequences.
  • The Matchmaker: Another possibility, if you avoid romancing either one. While both will develop an attraction regardless of if you flirted (provided you helped with their plans), you can instead urge them to stay together. Doing so is arguably the Golden Ending.
  • Threesome Subtext: The Eagle Bearer can actually suggest all three of them get together—provided they romanced both—to Thaletas. He seems receptive to the idea, however, there is no way to actually follow-through and the game will ultimately force the player to choose only one or neither of them.

Kyra

Voiced by: Alexandra Metaxa (English)note
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kyra_aco.png

The leader of a group of Delian rebels who seek to overthrow Podarkes.

  • Break the Cutie: The Eagle Bearer can potentially do this to her, by revealing her relationship to Podarkes to the rest of the rebels.
  • Commonality Connection: She and the Eagle Bearer have had similar pasts, and that's part of what draws them to each other.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: As a little girl, all Kyra wanted to do was know her father. He sent an army of thugs to kill her mom, something Kyra saw, running out of her family house covered in mom's blood.
  • Driven to Suicide: She jumps off a cliff if the Eagle Bearer suggests she dwells on her new-found emptiness and then "a sacrifice to the gods" during the funereal pyre scene.
  • Rebel Leader: She leads the Delian rebels who oppose Podarkes. Only by the time the Eagle Bearer shows up, Podarkes has been hammering them so badly that they're on their last legs.
  • Ship Tease: Even if the Eagle Bearer doesn't flirt with her, she still notes an attraction for them, but doesn't act on it.
  • Vengeance Feels Empty: On finally getting rid of Podarkes, she just feels empty. The Eagle Bearer can help talk her out of it.
  • Villainous Lineage: She is actually Podarkes' daughter, unbeknownst to her. However, the trope is subverted, as she remains a good person who is dedicated to the wellbeing of the Silver Islands.

Thaletas

Voiced by: Vangelis Christodoulou (English)note

A Spartan who answered Kyra's call for aid against Podarkes.

  • Hot-Blooded: He tends to act passionately, and often without thinking things through fully (e.g. wanting to attack Podarkes immediately with only twelve soldiers, and not strategically weaken him first like Kyra wants). Kyra admits she likes that part of him, but finds it massively frustrating as well.
  • I Choose to Stay: If the Eagle Bearer doesn't romance anyone, or romances him while keeping Kyra alive, he'll opt to stay with Kyra and reject his promotion to general. Whether he actually survives to do so requires some additional actions on the Eagle Bearer's part.
  • In Love with Your Carnage: A major attractor of Thelatas to the Eagle Bearer is their combat prowess. The phrase "drenched in blood" is used multiple times.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: His initial suggestion is charge the fort on Delios in broad daylight, counting on the unbeatable phalanx position. ... which isn't really designed for siege warfare.
  • Murder the Hypotenuse: If the Eagle Bearer romances Kyra, he'll try to kill them at the party at the end.
  • Ship Tease: Regardless of if the Eagle Bearer flirted with him or not, he'll attempt to romance them if they helped him with his plans and retrieved his father's helmet from the sunken Spartan ship.
  • A Tragedy of Impulsiveness: Potentially. Part of the reason he tries to kill the Eagle Bearer is because he feels purposeless with Podarkes gone, but if they talk to Kyra afterward, she reveals she's gotten word from Sparta telling him he'd gotten a promotion.

    Lykaon

Lykaon

A healer and the grandson of the Oracle who advised The Wolf of Sparta to throw away his children.
  • Fetch Quest: Asks the Eagle Bearer to gather some mandrake for him, because while he's not too busy to get it, he is too "chewy". There's a pack of wolves waiting by the mandrake plants.
  • Honor-Related Abuse: He feels honor-bound to kill his grandmother as recompense for the damage she caused while under the thumb of the Cult of Kosmos. The Eagle Bearer can convince him to let them kill her instead, however, both to spare him having to do it himself and as their own revenge for what her false prophecy did to their family. He can also be convinced that killing her won't solve anything and it would be better to just move on with his life, especially when it is revealed that, much like the current Oracle, she was more or less being held in captivity by the Cult and forced to say what they wanted her to say.

    Mikkos

Mikkos

The caretaker of Barnabas' nephew Neleus.
  • The Loins Sleep Tonight: Implied if you try to have a fling with him while he is drunk at Karpos Villa and don't accept the foursome; it fades to black as usual, but then it comes back with him making weak protests about how he can "still go on" and the Eagle Bearer putting their armor back on with a dejected look, with the implication that the poor guy is so drunk he can't even keep it up.

    Odessa

Odessa

A woman first met in the ruins of Odysseus' Palace, wanting to have a legacy as great as her ancestor.
  • Ambiguous Situation: May have murdered a suitor sent to try to win her father's lands out from under her.
  • Badass in Distress: She's first encountered while held captive by bandits in a cage, and her quest chain begins once the Eagle Bearer frees her and helps her escape the island.
  • Can't Catch Up: Odessa is only an Epic- and not Legendary-ranked lieutenant for the Adriesta, so if you want the "Argonauts" achievement you're going to have to swap her out with someone else. Some players have taken this as a personal tragedy.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: She only wears a bracer on her right arm and a greave on her left shin.
  • Fission Mailed: Her first quests ends with the Eagle Bearer giving her some advice on what to do with her life. Most options result in her throwing a hissy fit and storming off, making it seem like you just messed up her romance arc, but she actually takes whatever you said to heart and continues to be eligible for romance when she's met again later.
  • Glory Seeker: She wants to become a great hero like her ancestor and namesake Odysseus, and is more than willing to put herself in harm's way to achieve that.
  • Heroic Lineage: A descendant of, and named after, Odysseus.
  • It's All About Me: While she does want to help her sick father in her quest, Odessa claims it's because she doesn't want to be tied down and die forgotten, wanting a legacy on par with Odysseus.
  • Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: There's some question if Odessa is actually Odyssey's descendant or not (but this is a game of heroic lineages).

    Roxana

Roxana

A woman training for the Battle of 100 Hands.
  • Action Girl: Is introduced as the toughest fighter in her island, period, due to all her training for the Battle of 100 Hands. Ultimately, she becomes the second-to-last champion, alongside the Eagle Bearer. She is also a legendary-grade lieutenant for the ship.
  • Back-to-Back Badasses: Has the option of becoming this with the Eagle Bearer at the climax of the Battle of 100 Hands quest.
  • Birds of a Feather: If romanced, she and the Eagle Bearer feel that they have a connection because they are similar. This is especially apparent if playing as Kassandra, since then they're also both Action Girls.
Roxana: In a strange way, I see my own reflection in you.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: If you romanced her, recruited her as an Adrestia lieutenant, didn't dismiss her later and asked Barnabas to go easy on his nephew Neleus, she'll be part of the crew rescuing Neleus from Cult guards; this can take place several dozen hours of play time later. This makes her the only Love Interest to put in another cutscene appearance after the end of their recruitment arc, complete with options to catch up and make out.
  • Friend-or-Idol Decision: She has dedicated her life to winning the Battle of 100 Hands, both to claim the large reward and to avenge her parents and brother who previously entered and died, but in order to win she would have to kill the Eagle Bearer, who is at least a friend if not a lover. She can be convinced that there's more to do and discover out in the world than just winning the tournament, and will join the Eagle Bearer's crew.
  • Lampshade Hanging: If the conditions mentioned under Chekhov's Gunman are met, she'll poke some fun at how life aboard the Adrestia seems to consist of little else but shooting arrows, hiding behind shields, and rowing. Lots and lots of rowing.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: She uses a large shield.

    Xenia

Xenia

Voiced by: Cara Ricketts (English)note

A pirate leader who seeks various treasures hidden across the land. She once sailed with Phoenix.

  • Affectionate Nickname: She starts calling the Eagle Bearer "my West Wind."
  • Cash Gate: She demands 15000 drachmae before she'll agree to help the Eagle Bearer find their mother.
  • Honor Among Thieves: She's a pirate, and doesn't have a problem with killing or stealing, but she has no tolerance for slavery. Her introductory scene has her demonstrate this by giving an appropriate punishment to a soldier caught slaving: selling him into slavery himself.
    Soldier: Gods have mercy!
Xenia: You - want - mercy? [carving his forehead with a knife] Those who trade in slaves anywhere on my island will be marked as slaves themselves... then hauled to Attika and fed to the system they tried to profit from.
  • King of Thieves: She leads the pirates on the island of Keos, and is often referred to as a pirate queen.
  • Large and in Charge: The leader of her pirates, and by far the largest and most powerful of them.
  • One Head Taller: She's notable for being the only love interest who's actually taller than the Eagle Bearer, and by a considerable amount.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: Anyone caught slaving on her island gets sold into slavery themselves.
  • Pirate: She leads the pirates based in Keos.
  • Rugged Scar: She has a number of scars visible; the largest crosses over her mouth.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: She has a brother who is... much less successful at the whole pirate thing than she is.

    Zopheras

Zopheras

A young woman whose mother hires the Eagle Bearer to teach her how to be a better Spartan woman.
  • Best Her to Bed Her: If you want to successfully romance Zopheras, you have to beat her at both of the two friendly competitions (running and horseracing) that are part of your teaching session. If you lose either one, you can still flirt with her afterwards, but she will tell you that you don't have enough energy to have sex with her,
  • Hot for Teacher: Her mother hires the Eagle Bearer to teach her how to be a better Spartan woman, and she becomes enamored with them and can be romanced.
  • Stay in the Kitchen: What her mother is hoping to enforce upon her, but she disagrees.

DLC

    Adonis

Adonis

A human lover of Aphrodite and the leader of the human rebels in Elysium. He is involved in the first episode of The Fate of Atlantis DLC, Fields of Elysium. See his entry in Atlantis Simulation.

    Anais

Anais

A childhood friend/lover of the Eagle Bearer who moved away from Kephallonia many years prior. She is involved in the free DLC quest "Old Flames Burn Brighter".
  • Bully Hunter: According to the Eagle Bearer, she used to stick up for them against bullies when they were kids.
  • Childhood Friend: She grew up alongside the Eagle Bearer on Kephallonia, but moved away some years ago to Arkadia.
  • Childhood Friend Romance: Implied if she is romanced. The Eagle Bearer and her seem right at home with flirting or even being intimate with each other.
  • Has a Type: Spartans, apparently. Both her late husband and the Eagle Bearer are Spartan.
  • Romancing the Widow: Her husband died in the war and she admits later that she wanted to reconnect with the Eagle Bearer in order to see if they would make as a good partner as they had when they were kids.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: She will reject the Eagle Bearer if they go against her wishes and teach her son how to fight, though gently—her reasoning being that she wants to be with someone she trusts.

    Lykinos and Timotheos

In General

Two brothers mourning their recently deceased father. They are involved in the free DLC quest "A Brother's Seduction."
  • Sibling Triangle: They both develop feelings for the Eagle Bearer, which causes some conflict between them.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Lykinos is excitable and impulsive while Timotheos is more reserved and thoughtful. Lykinos wants to seek bloody vengeance for their father's death, while Timotheos cautions against continuing the cycle of violence.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Lykinos is the red oni to Timotheos' blue oni.

Lykinos

A poet.
  • Revenge: After finding out that his father was killed by bandits, he hires the Eagle Bearer to kill them in revenge.
  • Starving Artist: He introduces himself as a "famed poet of Athens," but it's later revealed that he didn't actually find much success, and the reason he has returned home is because he ran out of money.
  • Supreme Chef: He turns out to be an excellent cook, and the Eagle Bearer can suggest he pursue that as a career instead of risking continued failure as a poet.

Timotheos

A soldier.
  • Shell-Shocked Veteran: He fought for Athens, and it left him with some significant mental trauma.
  • Team Killer: He lost control during a battle and accidentally killed one of his fellow soldiers.
  • The Stoic: He's a lot more quiet and reserved than his younger brother.

    Natakas/Neema

Natakas/Neema

The offspring of Darius introduced in the Legacy of the First Blade DLC.
  • Cutting Off the Branches: By lieu of Kassandra being the canonical Eagle Bearer, Natakas is the one that is the canonical surviving offspring of Darius and parent of Elpidios.
  • Darwinist Desire: The justification as to why the Eagle Bearer would end up having a child with them regardless of their feelings or orientation is out of a duty to propagate their line, especially considering that Natakas/Neema are also of an Isu bloodline. This is a similar potential reason to the Eagle Bearer's own parents' conception of them.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: They end up dead by the Order of the Ancient's hands in the third Legacy of the First Blade episode.
  • Foreshadowing: Eagle-eyed players will soon notice their red sash, like that of an Assassin. Their son is given one by the Eagle Bearer at the end of Legacy as a memento.
  • Heroic Lineage: Aside from being Darius' child, they're the distant ancestor of Aya through their son with the Eagle Bearer.
  • Nice Guy: They're incredibly friendly and upbeat for someone who's had to spend most of their life on the run, especially compared to their father.
  • Non-Action Guy: Never actually takes part in much fighting. This, along with the fact they're guarding their son, might explain why they get killed so easily by the Order.
  • Official Couple: While the Eagle Bearer can have may flings, they are the only one that the Eagle Bearer ends up having a child with.
  • Static Role, Exchangeable Character: Whether or not it was Darius' son or daughter who survived depends on whether you're playing Kassandra or Alexios, with the offspring being the opposite of their gender.
  • Tempting Fate: In the beginning of the third episode, they throw away a good luck charm given to them by their late mother. Not too soon, they are killed.
  • What Beautiful Eyes!: Some very vividly gold eyes, inherited from their dad. Their son Elpidios inherits them.

    Thyia

Thyia

The sister of the magistrate of the town of Lalaia, and acting general of the forces there. She is involved in the free DLC quest "The Daughters of Lalaia."
  • Action Girl: She's one of the few women in Lalaia who can fight.
  • Casual Kink: When discussing the legend of Andromeda, and recreating it, she notes that in the legend, Andromeda was tied naked to a rock. She and the Eagle Bearer seem particularly intrigued by that fact.
  • Eyepatch of Power: She wears an eyepatch over her left eye.
