Anaphora | Anaphoras Government Members

Anaphora's Redemption is an organized rebellion group, which was founded with one goal: To abolish the governments and all the evil they have come to represent and encourage. They believe in the use of force to achieve this end, seeing as reasoning attempts end in prison or execution. Their ideology is based heavily on the Traits , which they believe are the one thing that humanity has left to cling to and draw true goodness from. It has a total of 13 members.

Founding Members

    Aila Lovell

Aila Lovell

Played by: Athena Lionheart
"So, who's going to clear out peacefully and who wants toast for breakfast?"

Aila Lovell is a 18-year-old Passion Trait Bearer from Aspernor. She is famous mostly for being... passionate. A proud founding member of the AR, Aila is ready to fight and die for a cause she believes in.

  • Action Girl: She's a fighter, and a darn good one when it comes down to it.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: While nothing drastic, the emotional manipulation used by Hate Bearers nearly nullified her natural revulsion towards horrific things.
  • Defiant to the End: Even with a gun to her head, the fight's not over yet.
  • Fiery Redhead: The only thing more fiery and vivid than her hair is her personality.
  • Hair-Trigger Temper: WHY would you put CARROTS on a SANDWICH?!
  • Heroic Spirit: Aila just keeps getting back up.
  • Heroic Resolve: When you threaten something she values, you're practically asking for a fiery, painful death.
  • Honor Before Reason: Has powerful morals she won't back down on.
  • The Idealist: She likes to think positively.
  • Kill It with Fire: What do you do when straightforward swordplay just isn't cutting it?
  • Playing with Fire: The Passion Trait gives her power over fire, fueled by emotion.
  • Rebellious Spirit: You think Aila's going to conform to anyone or anything? Hah. That's cute.
  • Technicolor Eyes: Has a large array of unnatural colors in her irises, from a deep blue outer ring to purple, red, orange, and yellow. Together, they create a sunrise effect.
  • Tomboyish Ponytail: Often worn when she needs her hair out of her face.

    Axel Wakeman

Axel Wakeman

  • Affectionate Nickname: Called “smiling rock” by Charity and “Sir Rockhead” by Aila.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Looked up to by many of the AR members—especially Charity—and tends to treat all the members as if they were his siblings.
  • The Big Guy: It’s basically been declared by the AR—and proven—that Axel is their strongest member and very effective in combat.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: On the outside he’s burly, big, and super macho, but has been shown to have a soft center.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: Wants to help practically everyone and cleanse the world of all the bad guys.
  • Determinator: Will not go down until he’s forced down.
  • Disappeared Dad: Axel has little to no memory of his father and his mother’s only comment about him is how Axel was turning out like him.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Axel’s trait allows him to manipulate earth.
  • Fainting: Has a tendency to use too much of his ability, resulting in fainting or passing out for a while.
  • Four-Star Badass: After helping take over Poena, Axel was one of two members in the Redemption who were made generals.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Axel is a good person but do not mistake this as making him soft, he is capable of holding his own self in battle.
  • Heroes Love Dogs: He found and adopted a wolf cub, which he named Callie.
  • Journey to Find Oneself: After the battle with Vandor he set out on one, but it was interrupted by his discovery of a wolf cub close to death. Which caused him to rush back to the redemption.
  • Lethal Chef: Was declared this when he called carrots between a slice of bread “food”.

    Charity Perkins

Charity Perkins

Played by: Lyssy-chan
"But you can, you can do anything you want to. . . I have faith you can choose to do what 'you' want to do."

Charity Perkins is a 16 year old Faith Trait Bearer from Suada, Avaditas. She is known for her bubbly attitude and unbreakable spirit, along with being one of the youngest founding AR members. It was revealed later in the roleplay that she was related to the Emperor of Avaditas, Avon Dasilva III.

In Anaphora:

  • Abusive Parents: Her father ignored her completely as a child, usually even acting as if she was never there. He also was a drunk, and the only time he noticed her was to mentally, and several times, physically harm her.
  • Action Girl: When things went badly Charity did not hesitate to jump into action. This was shown when Avaditas scouts attacked their base and when she helped offensively in the raid of the Acritudo fort and fended off members of the Zeidan family.
  • Alcoholic Parent: Her father Izack used to drink, a lot, making him drunk most of the time she was around him.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: The youngest of the AR Founders and one of two of the youngest AR Members.
  • Bastard Bastard: Daughter of unmarried parents, child of a royal Dasilva (mother) and a Veteran of the Avadtias military (father).
  • Blonde, Brunette, Redhead: The blonde (one of two) of the Brunette, Axel, and Redhead, Aila.
  • Broken Hero: Despite her broken past she continues to strive for a better world and never falters to care for her fellow comrades and companions. She also continues to sport an optimistic personalty despite being ignored and mentally abused by her father.
  • The Cutie: Little, adorable, child-like. You cannot dismiss her as anything but cute.
  • Dad the Veteran: He served as a Veteran in the Avaditas Military, until Charity was born and he was demoted of his spot.
  • The Ditz: A little odd at times with her responses and actions. An example would be when she hugs an albino tree, worrying for its safety.
  • Goal in Life: To bring down the governments and build a better Anaphora.
  • Good Cannot Comprehend Evil: Charity doesn't admit it to the others, but she sometimes feels like the leaders and people in general do bad things for a good reason—even if they're not doing it in the right way.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Blonde hair color, along with a considerate and charming personality towards her comrades.
  • Heroic Spirit: She has a very strong will and refuses to let people bring down that will and belief. She will never give up on what she believes.
  • Light 'em Up: Being a Faith Bearer, she has the ability over Light manipulation.
  • Meaningful Name: Charity (word) is the giving of something to someone, which represents the love and loyalty she gives to others in hopes of making a better world. Perkins could be taken as “Perk up” representing the “cheery” side of her personality.
  • Missing Mom: Charity never knew her mom, let alone ever got to meet her. She doesn't even know if she exists.
  • Nice Girl: Nice to just about anyone she meets, even if they could potentially be an enemy.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: She has shown to be very "huggy" towards the other AR members and doesn't understand people's comfort zones.
  • Plucky Girl: Continues to keep her head up even after many downing situations.

In Anaphora: Entropy:

"Why did I keep fighting against something I knew wouldn’t get better? This world was too dark to fix. It was too corrupted to ever return back to normal. Besides, even if we did make Anaphora a better place there would always be evil, darkness, and chaos. It was around us—everywhere. We couldn’t escape it no matter how desperately we tried to keep it at bay. . . It would always come back—because even light casted a shadow."

After being captured by an Avaditan spy, discovering she's a Dasilva, being sent into Venatura, and almost being publicly executed, Charity accepts that she is Charitia Dasilva, along with the Greed trait. She is no longer a part of Anaphora's Redemption and belongs to the Dasilva family, along with that she refuses to go by "Charity Perkins".

  • Adults Are Useless: Her mother only furthers her issues, Avon doesn't even bother really giving her time to cope.
  • Anti-Villain: Upon accepting her Greed trait, she fails to realize at first that in doing so she's betraying the AR completely, despite not intending to. She's also joined the royal family, who is trying to kill the AR, despite not wanting to hurt them herself.
  • Being Good Sucks: Realizes this very quickly after being captured. Because of her trait of Faith she is whittled down into nothing for it.
  • Better to Die than Be Killed: Subverted, but she attempted to stab herself with a butter knife the day before Venatura.
  • Big Eater: After being brought to breakfast by Avon, she almost gorges herself in the array of food that is provided before becoming too nervous to eat by Eris.
  • Break the Cutie: Before being captured she could easily be labeled as "a pure and innocent cinnamon bun", that's not the case anymore.
  • Broken Bird: Became a cynical person and is coping with the situations thrown at her.
  • Calling the Old Man Out: Does this with her mother during their second meeting, promptly saying, "F*** you, get out. Now."
  • Character Development: As bad as the whole situation was for her, it proved to open her eyes about the world. She was ridden of her Faith trait, which she had been abusing in the first place, and became more realistic about the reality of the world. Instead of a comic relief character she's developed into a more defined (even though she's broken) character. On top of that, her personality flip flopped and she pulled a "Face–Heel Turn".
  • Children Forced to Kill: During Venatura, in order to survive she has to murder innocent—or not so innocent—men.
  • The Corruptible: As proven when after enduring Venatura and almost going to be killed she chooses to accept Greed.
  • The Cynic: As stated by her, the world is screwed up and there's no point or way to fix it.
  • Damsel in Distress: Charity was captured and held prisoner by the Emperor of Avaditas.
  • Dirty Coward: Considered this, possibly more by the AR, seeing as she chose to live and become Greed rather than die for their cause as she pledged to do.
  • Doublethink: Contradicting thoughts between wanting to not betray the AR and not wanting to be like the corrupted leaders but realizing how dark and ruined it is and trying to accept that. She also doesn’t know whether she did the right thing—accept the Greed to save her life when she could have died for what she worked for as a Faith bearer.
  • Face–Heel Turn: Goes from being a lovable, happy-go-lucky Faith bearer to a cynical, screwed up Greed bearer.
  • Jade-Colored Glasses: After Venatura she believes the world isn't as easy to fix as she assumes, and claims it's too broken to be fix.
  • Loss of Identity: After the “mask” of her faith was taken off she reveals her true inner self as a Greed. She even goes by Charitia (her actual proper Anaphorean, Dasilva name) and refuses people to mention her last name—Perkins.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: As seen when she was captured, mentally broken, thrown into Venatura, and almost executed publicly for being a Faith bearer and being apart of the AR.
  • Peer Pressure Makes You Evil: Avon's influence played a part of her becoming a Greed.
  • Perpetual Frowner: A common addition to her features, especially after Venatura.
  • Rags to Royalty: Charity was born into royalty, despite being a Bastard. She was sent to live with her father (a "retired" veteran) before returning to royalty (with some messed up complications) after accepting her agreed trait and that she is "Charitia Dasilva".
  • Regretful Traitor: She begins to regret accepting her new trait right after accepting it.
  • Screw Destiny: Instead of being assassinated by her elder brother in front of millions for the cause she was once for, she decides to join him instead.
  • Thousand-Yard Stare: After witnessing a man take his life in front of her during the ending of Venatura she does this.
  • Unwitting Pawn: Furthers Avon's plans even more by joining them, despite having no idea that she is helping him.
  • We Used to Be Friends: The AR, mostly Aila and Axel. Although, it's never really clear as to if they aren't friends. It's assumed because Charity became Charitia she isn't on their side.

Other Members

    Larea Olar
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/7018814ace28ff8b0f810906400f8f31.png
Played by: Night Owl
Larea is a 19 year old Strength Trait Bearer from Aspernor. She’s the daughter of a government official in Aspernor, but ran away two years before the roleplay started after he found out she was a trait bearer.

In Anaphora:

  • Abusive Parents: Her parents emotionally abused and manipulated her from a very young age.
  • Action Girl: She can stand her own in a fight.
  • Anti-Hero: After spending 2 years fending for herself, she’s started to have no problem in killing enemies who stand in her way.
  • Apologizes a Lot: She will apologize over the simplest of things.
  • Because I Said So: Her parents would control almost everything she did, leaving her with very little freedom or choice for most of her life. From whom she could and couldn't hang out with, right down to the food that was prepared for her.
  • Beneath the Mask: Outwardly, Larea appears to be a serious person who always stands straight with her head held high. Inwardly, she has many worries and anxieties that she never allows herself to physically express when she around others and instead she'll usually try to push those feelings away and keep them hidden deep inside.
  • Beneath Notice: She has become rather good at being able to go unnoticed in crowds and dressing in ways so she won't draw attention to herself in any situation.
  • Beware the Quiet Ones: While she doesn't say much, she isn't afraid to get shit done.
  • Declaration of Protection: When Charity was kidnapped she wasn’t able to be of any help thanks to her wounds, so she vowed she would at least make sure nothing happens to the others from there on out. To follow through with this, after Anaphora’s Redemption took over Actritudo, she volunteered to be one of the people in charge to the town's soldiers and defenses.
  • Determinator: She has a very strong will and rarely backs down from doing something she's put her mind to. Even if she gets knocked down while doing it, she'll pop right back up and try again. As many times as it takes.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: Since she’s a Strength Bearer, she has the ability to control earth.
  • Emotionless Girl: Given the way she grew up, it's no wonder she rarely shows much emotion.
  • Eye Scream: Her father cut her left eye with his sword and blinded it.
  • Handicapped Badass: She’s blind in her left eye, but that doesn’t stop her from kicking ass.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: She spent her whole life afraid of her parents and never had a true friend, so when she joined Anaphora’s Redemption she desperately wanted to become close with them. Sadly her anti-social nature and social awkwardness made this difficult until just recently.
  • Leave Me Alone!: She isn't one to open up to others or depend on others to fix her problems, instead she'll stand on her own two feet and figure out how to fix them herself. But because of this there have been a few times where things would have gone much easier for herself if she had just reached out to another person.
  • Mistaken for Spies: Downplayed. Larea happened across the Redemption's base after hearing a battle was happening nearby. She carefully went to check out who the winner was once the battle was over to see if the border lines had been changed. Instead, she was spotted by Serafina and was accused of being a spy. Thankfully the misunderstanding was quickly cleared up.
  • No Sense of Humor: She is unable to understand when someone is telling a joke or being sarcastic.
  • Prim and Proper Bun: She keeps most of her hair in a low bun to keep it out of her face while fighting.
  • The Quiet One: Yep. She’s begun to talk a bit more recently.
  • Scars Are Forever: The moment her father found out she was a trait bearer, he strikes her face and shoulder with his sword, blinding her left eye and leaving her with scars that never fully healed.
  • Socially Awkward Hero: Being with people she knows she can completely trust is a brand new situation for her. She doesn't know how to interact with them so she will often think over what she wants to say a few times before saying it. She'll worry she'll say the wrong thing and upset her new allies, so more often than not she won't say anything and if she does say something it'll only be a short sentence or two.
  • Tired of Running: After being on the run and doing her best to stay under the radar for nearly two years, she was glad when she happened upon Anaphora's Redemption and could finally do something to try and change the world for the better.
  • Yes-Man: She used to be this to her parents out of fear.

In Anaphora: Entropy:

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/uniform3.png
"Shut up! You're wrong! I never decided anything for myself because you never let me decide, but in the time that I’ve been away from you and that damned country, I’ve learned how to make decisions for myself. I've learned how to survive. I may not be as great at this whole politics thing as some of the others, but I can still play my part in all of this. I can do this. I have to do this!"

  • Dark Is Not Evil: While the Acritudo military uniform is mostly black (with her eyepatch and emotionless outer personality not helping much in this regard), Larea is actually a kind and rather awkward person.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Instead of keeping her left eye covered by her hair, she gets herself an eyepatch in the beginning of Entropy because she had to try and look the part of someone who’s helping to rule a country.
  • Four-Star Badass: After helping taking over Acritudo, Larea was one of two members in the Redemption who were made generals.
  • Hallucinations: Due to the stress of being in charge of a large army, Larea’s has the tendency to see her father appear around her and belittle her in moments where she has a wave of self doubt or anxiety. She always pushes him out of her mind as quickly as he appears however.
  • Important Haircut: She cut the bangs that had always covered her eye for the same reason she got an eyepatch, so that her face could be seen and appear representable for her new found position. It was an important moment for her because she had spent years making herself appear unkempt to deter attention away from her. For the first time in a very long time, she actually looked nice.

    Lucian 'Luke' Zeidan
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/389a74b34d4a6e2773c7425ce3ee8d32.jpg
Played by: Writing Bookworm

Luke is an 18 year old Compassion Trait Bearer from Acritudo. The son of the dictator of Acritudo, he was forced to flee the nation after his father decided he was not born with the Cruelty Trait, and joined the Redemption six years later. He's friendly, calm, and generous, but also deeply passionate in the ideals he believes in.

  • Afraid of Blood: No thanks to the wound he gave Therese years back. Now he has to keep himself from passing out whenever he sees it.
  • The Atoner: A major part of his character involves deep regret for some of his past actions. It is partly because of this that he joins the Redemption, in hopes of bringing about enough good to make up for the misery he inflicted upon others. Unfortunately, he feels like he’ll never completely redeem himself, even though it’s safe to say he already has.
  • Badass Longcoat: Wears a white longcoat that goes down to his knees.
  • Became Their Own Antithesis: A positive example. A major part of his character development is that he goes from a vicious, cruel noble incapable of uttering a kind word into a benevolent, peaceful, and truly caring man who consistently strives to do good.
  • Beneath the Mask: Upon first sight, Luke is a kind, easygoing, and loyal guy. And he really is. But you can’t simply be raised in a family fueled by cruelty and come out unscathed, no matter how nice you are. If the right buttons are pushed enough, a far darker and crueler side of him may emerge.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Luke’s very generous and affable. He’s also very capable of taking you down, hard.
  • Big Brother Instinct: He has this toward Jezebel. Whether or not he has this toward Leyland or even Therese (now that she stabbed him) is debatable.
  • Big, Screwed-Up Family: He’s part of the Zeidan family, who are basically the poster example of this trope (considering over half of the family are sociopaths and anyone who isn't eventually goes on the run).
  • Break the Haughty: He suffered from this big time after his father called for his execution and being forced to flee the country.
  • Cain and Abel: Leyland and Therese are the Cain to Luke and eventually Jezebel’s Abel. Leyland and Therese are cruel and kill others without a second thought while Luke and Jezebel are far more altruistic and show remorse for harm they have caused.
  • Character Development: Very much so, both in the RPG and in the storyline. Initially he was a very haughty son of Vandor who was needlessly cruel to everyone he met before learning that Vandor called for his execution because he didn’t possess the Cruelty abilities. He realizes just how much pain he’s caused others when he nearly accidentally kills his sister, and the event unlocks his Compassion Trait. He learns to become much kinder in his time in Cruore and eventually becomes generous. It’s also there while he’s with the Redemption — initially he’s very optimistic and sees nothing but the best in others, but has slowly been starting to progress into a more realistic and wiser individual.
  • Combat Medic: Proficient both in battle and in healing.
  • Create Your Own Villain: And how with Therese. He was rude to a lot of people, but he would bully Therese to the point of physically assaulting her sometimes. Her ultimate response to this? Become a completely ax-crazy sadist, of course. Luke regrets this immensely, and blames himself for her descent into villainy.
  • Determinator: If he goes down, he goes down fighting.
  • Fatal Flaw: His tendency to see the good in others. You’d think this would be a good thing, but it’s warranted reckless behavior, put himself and others in compromising situations, and nearly got himself killed because of it. It’s even lampshaded by Therese:
"You’re entirely too kind, brother. It’s your weakness."
  • The Fettered: Has a high sense of morality and isn’t afraid to abide by it.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Luke is very friendly, but don’t think this means he won’t do what needs to be done in the name of creating a better world.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: It’s very easy for him to slip into this, given that he’s critical of himself and couldn’t forgive himself if his life depended on it.
  • Ironic Fear: He’s one of two medics in Anaphora’s Redemption, yet he freaks out at the sight of blood. It’ll often render him unable to heal the wound in question if he doesn’t quickly look away and concentrate on something else.
  • Martial Pacifist: As a Compassion Bearer, he’s a little nonconfrontational and would prefer not to solve conflict via violence. That doesn’t mean he’s above it, though.
  • Meaningful Name: ‘Lucian’ and ‘Luke’ both mean ‘light’.
  • Meaningful Rename: Shortens his name from Lucian, a formal and almost snakelike-sounding name, to Luke, a much simpler variation, to cement his character development.
  • Nice Guy: One of the nicest in the Redemption.
  • Riches to Rags: Goes from living the life of royalty to an outcast on the run, and it happens overnight.
  • That Man Is Dead: He doesn't always voice his displeasure, but he really hates it when people call him Lucian. To him, Lucian was a cruel noble while Luke is a far better person.
  • Thou Shalt Not Kill: Luke has forbidden himself from ever taking another life. So far, he’s made good on that.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: A major part of his character development is due to this. He saw just how wrong his actions were when he saw just how screwed-up it caused Therese to be, and became incredibly remorseful. He was in a brief state of depression upon his arrival in Cruore, but eventually pulled himself out of this with help from his mentor, Quintus Randall. Throughout his years living in peaceful solitude with him, he became the gentle and enlightened being others know and love.
  • Wise Prince: He's the son of Acritudo's dictator, as well as an enlightened and calm individual.

    Cinzia Montalvo
Played by: Fix-it
Cinzia Montalvo is an 18 year old Restraint trait-bearer from the nation of Avaditas. She is a very new member of the Redemption, but is a valuable asset with her power negation skill. Cinzia was born Aestas 47th, 9976.
  • Abusive Parents: While not exactly abusive, they left her on the street at a very early age.
  • Conveniently an Orphan: Felix made her an orphan so she could work on finding them in the roleplay.
  • Damage Reduction: Cinzia can negate the damage a trait-bearer’s ability will do.
  • Goal in Life: To save another trait bearer from the cruel fate she almost experienced.
  • Heroic Spirit: Cinzia won’t back down from a fight, and is always ready to help those in need.
  • Heroic Vow: Cinzia vowed never to kill another person—no matter what their status is, even if they need to be put out of their misery.
  • Killed to Uphold the Masquerade: She had to kill the one guard during her escape, to make sure she wasn’t discovered trying to escape.
  • Meditation Power Up: She is able to activate her ability when she enters a meditation-like state of almost delusion.
  • "No" Means "Yes": As a restraint bearer, Cinzia doesn’t take no for an answer.
  • Rebellious Spirit: As a Restraint bearer, she will absolutely under no circumstance conform to peer pressure, or anything of the sorts.
  • Run for the Border: Cinzia successfully escaped her custody in Avaditas and has no plans on returning—ever.

    Nivia Syntrum
Nivia is a 21 year old ex-military official of Aspernor. She was originally a Hate bearer but became Restraint sometime during the beginning of Anaphora: Entropy.
  • The Ace: She's still extremely good at her job as a soldier, and it's not something that she or others will hide. When she's told what to do, she does it then some. Whether that then some is good or not is questionable, but she rarely ever fails at her task.
  • Action Girl: Nivia is always jumping into the action rather than fleeing it. She embraces it, mainly because it's been something apart of her life since she was born.
  • Boyish Short Hair: A little longer now, but still pretty short and boyish. Her hair as a kid/teen was also in this style.
  • Can't Hold Her Liquor: During Anaphora: Entropy, Nivia is given a bottle of liquor from Zeri. Just after a few large swigs of it she's already becoming drunk. While drunk she starts shouting and yelling at the top of her lungs, even smashing the bottle to the ground unknowingly.
  • Child Hater: There's two reasons for this. The first one is less symbolic, just being the simple "children are obnoxious and should know their place", which shows greatly with Jezebel whenever she speaks. The second reason is because she knows because of her status as a girl she's expected to bear children one day.
  • Choice of Two Weapons: A sword and a gun are her go-to weapon choices.
  • The Cynic: She believes life sucks, knows it sucks, and is apart of the reason why it sucks.
  • Does Not Like Men: Mainly comes from the fact she knows she's expected to get married to a man and bear his children. Yet, she doesn't want to.
  • Hypocrite: Hates Trait Bearers, but is one herself.
  • Power Nullifier: Restraint allows her the ability to nullify other traits powers.
  • Raised as the Opposite Gender: Her parents wanted her to be a boy, hoping that if they raised her like one she'd be treated more like one. They also hoped it would give a better chance in the military. From birth they forced her to keep her hair short, she never wore something that would be considered "girlish", her parents even made her wear a binder so her chest could stay flat.
  • Vigilante Woman: Was this for the Aspernoi Military. And in technical terms, herself, when she took down people she thought were bad and harmful to the government due to being/possibly being trait bearers.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Has killed children. Many, many children.
