Volume 1

    Season Zero
  • The initial Disc War, the first truly major event on the server, ended in epic fashion when Tommy managed to retrieve his discs from Dream, but knowing he would come after them, decided to make an Ender Chest so they would stay secure. The recipe called for 8 obsidian, and Tommy only managed to mine 7 blocks as Tubbo tried to hold Dream off. Tubbo realized he had a spare obsidian block at his home and managed to give it to him, all while being stalked by Dream. Tommy completed the Ender Chest and managed to save all of his things inside just before Dream killed him. The moment was so thrilling he leaped out of his chair in real life.

    Season One
  • L'Manburg's War for Independence ends with Tommy being unwilling to surrender even after the Final Control Room massacre, and making a deal with Dream to have a Duel to the Death for the nation's independence. When the duel ended with Tommy losing his second canon life (theoretically on the same day), he gives up both his Cat and Mellohi discs in exchange for L'Manburg's independence.note
  • Schlatt's inauguration speech, while being the catalyst for the shitstorm that goes down in the rest of the season and beyond, is awesome in a way only villains can achieve.
  • Niki standing up to Schlatt's tyranny.
  • Preceding the Battle of the Lake, Tommy gave a speech that he ended with "I have The Blade." That itself is awesome given how he's outnumbered and outmatched even when he has Dream on his side, but it gets even better when, in a moment of perfect timing, Technoblade himself joined the game a split second later, proceeding to help Tommy and Dream give Sapnap, Bad, Ant, and Skeppy the beating of their lives.
  • After being forced to the sidelines of the civil war for so long, Dream finally got his moment to shine prior to the Battle of the Lake. And we get this glorious exchange that finally cements exactly which cause Dream was fighting for, followed by a Big "YES!" from Tommy and Niki.
Sapnap: (almost sneeringly) So [Dream and Tommy] are going into Manburg?
    Dream: L'Manburg.
  • Quackity, after having put up with Jschlatt's bullshit for so long, joined Pogtopia.
  • Fundy using "A Spy's Diary" to keep track of Schlatt during his administration to aid Pogtopia and bring back L'Manburg. It's awesome in how meticulous the records are, especially regarding Schlatt's weaknesses and health problems.
  • Everyone on Pogtopia's side getting armed thanks to Techno's secret vault. You'd better believe the stream chats went insane that day.
  • Purpled burning the Manburg shield he was gifted and joining Pogtopia for the final battle of the season.
  • During the actual Manburg vs. Pogtopia Final Battle, Phil's arrival onto the server to stop Wilbur, and the subsequent detonation of Manburg, as the Chekhov's Gun finally fires.
  • Techno's speeches. He used to be an English major in real life (he dropped out about a year in), and you can absolutely tell that with the detail and intensity he manages to work into every speech. Special mention should go to his speech about Theseus, which was not only one of the most intense moments in the server's history, but — according to Philza — was also entirely improvised.

    Season Two
  • After Dream gave his ultimatum, Tubbo and Quackity met in the Camarvan, and Quackity formed a proposition: either step to the left if they're going to give in to Dream and exile Tommy for L'Manburg's sake, or step to the right if they're going to stand with Tommy and figure out a plan to beat Dream. Quackity counted down... and both stepped to the right without hesitation.
Tubbo: Well, I'll be damned if we don't go down without at least a bit of a fight.
  • After weeks of both physical and psychological abuse, and the complete destruction of Logstedshire, Tommy is pushed to the brink, towering up to build limit while lamenting how alone he is... then slowly, very slowly, realizes just what Dream has been doing to him.
Tommy: His last words were, "I'll see you every– every week to come and watch you." Well... Now, you... I'll... Now you won't, you... (Beat) Come and watch me, to come and watch me. See me every week to come and watch me. (looks around) To come and– come and... (looks at his pictures) Every week to come and watch me. (Beat; indignant) He'd come... to watch me. [...] He wasn't here to be my friend. He said it. He was just here so he... (Beat) He was just here so he could watch me! [...] What did he say on the first day? Like a little bug that he can't flick off. I'm the only person who never does exactly what he says. (sudden realization) I'm the only person who never does what he says! Me! He said that to me, didn't he?! [...] Dream wasn't– He was just here to make sure... 'Cause I'm the only one that will throttle him. (Beat) I'm the only one Dream's scared of.
    • Tommy, now with the realization that Dream was only trying to keep him from fighting back, decides he's no longer going to stay under Dream's thumb, and leaves Logstedshire. He jumps into a pool of water and runs off to the north to hide, gear up, and get his discs back. After all the torment and trauma he's been through, Tommy is back.
      • What makes it better is that during the Exile Arc, the general fan consensus was that Tommy being saved by someone else (e.g. Technoblade) would be the most optimistic ending. Tommy defies this expectation by saving himself. You would bet the chat went wild when Tommy landed in the water after jumping down from the tower.
    • This moment.
Tommy: And we definitely have to start from the very... Aw, fuckin' hell! We're back to square one! (Tommy spots a chest, and opens it to see all of Mexican Dream's gear) ...Maybe not.
  • The attack of the Butcher's Army was awesome, from any perspective.
    • From the perspective of the Butcher's Army, the fact that they managed to trap Technoblade was a feat in and of itself. Killing him would have been impossible, but taking his horse hostage put Techno completely at their mercy. It's such a ballsy move, one can't help but applaud it.
    • Techno's perspective was definitely the highlight.
      • When Phil warned Techno over whisper that the Butcher Army was on their way, Techno immediately started brewing potions, gathering supplies and prepping for a fight. Even with five minutes notice, Techno still managed to gather enough items to win a 1 VS 4 battle, killing two of his opponents until Quackity put a stop to the fight by threatening his horse.
      • Techno, with some help from Dream and Punz, manages to survive his own execution. He survives getting crushed by a falling anvil due to the Totem of Undying Dream told him to get, and runs away while Punz distracts the Butcher's Army and Phil laughs and cheers from his balcony.
      • As Techno is trying to escape, he winds up in the Final Control Room, desperately trying to widen the tunnel to get his horse, Carl, through to the other side. Quackity confronts him there, and after a brief shouting match, the two get into a fight. Quackity has full Netherite with Protection IV and a diamond axe, while Techno has potions, unenchanted iron armor, and a Netherite pickaxe... and Techno wins.
Techno: I HAVE A PICKAXE AND I'LL PUT IT THROUGH YOUR TEETH, I'LL PUT IT THROUGH YOUR TEETH, QUACKITY!
      • As he's returning home, Techno is royally pissed off. He decides that he's not going to let them get away with this, and breaks his vow of peace, swearing to destroy L'Manburg once and for all.
Techno: The only thing that works in this world, is that you treat others the way they treat you, alright? Those that have treated me with kindness, I will repay that kindness tenfold, AND THOSE THAT TREAT ME WITH INJUSTICE?! That use me?! That hunt me down, that HURT MY FRIENDS?! I shall repay that injustice a thousand times over.
    • Phil deserves a mention too. He never gave in to Quackity and Tubbo's demands, and when they discovered the compass, he warned Techno immediately. He proceeded to not only laugh in the faces of the Butcher's Army when Techno got away, he also snuck out of house arrest twice to make sure Techno was okay.
    • Despite it all ending terribly, Quackity also gets one for having the guts to go after and duel Technoblade himself, especially because back in Season 1, Q was scared shitless of Techno and his later attempt at trying to overcome his trauma and fears ended quite terribly. It's very clear that he's had some Character Development since then, how small it may be. It probably also helps that watching from Techno's perspective, the main reason he won the fight was because he had a Turtle Master potion that allowed him to tank hits, but Quackity did enough damage to take down about 25% of Techno's health. Not bad, especially for a Non-Action Guy.
  • After discovering Tommy hiding in his basement, Techno invites him to join him in destroying L'Manburg, with the promise that Techno will help him get his discs back. When Tommy agrees, Techno leads Tommy around the back of his house, saying that despite swearing off violence, he's been indulging in a little... hobby. Techno then pushes a button, and the side of the mountain slides open, revealing a room covered wall to wall in Wither Skulls.
    Techno: WELCOME HOME, THESEUS!
  • Tommy and Techno finally confront Dream, leading to a very angry Tommy finally standing up for himself and confronting Dream over his manipulation and gaslighting.
    Tommy: Dream? Go fuck yourself.
    • Dream, angry that Tommy has violated the terms of his exile, tries to arrest Tommy then and there, telling him that if he doesn't follow him, he'll burn Tommy's disc.
Techno: Well, that's gonna be a bit of a problem, Dream. (steps in front of Tommy) Because this guy's with me.
  • Tommy and Techno return to L'Manburg to find that the Community House has been destroyed. Dream insists it was done by Tommy, and demands that Tubbo give up Tommy's disc. Tommy reveals himself, revealing it wasn't him... and then gets confronted by Tubbo. The fight that follows is as heartwrenching as it is awesome, with the both of them circling around each other, jumping in and out of the water, all the while screaming their grievances at the top of their lungs.
    • At the climax of the fight, Tommy screams at Tubbo that the discs are worth more to him than Tubbo ever was. This halts the entire fight in its tracks, and Tommy, immediately horrified with himself, realizes that by working with Techno, he's becoming the exact kind of person he never wanted to be. Tommy leaves a furious Techno, and decides to stand with Tubbo and the rest of L'Manburg.
    • A villainous example. Dream and Techno realize that their plans to destroy L'Manburg align pretty well... and with Tommy defecting from him, Techno decides that there's no time like the present to team up with Dream to turn L'Manburg into a chunk error. To further ramp up the awesome factor, they make it clear that even with L'Manburg supposedly outnumbering them by a couple dozen fighters, they're gonna make the nation work to eke out even the smallest of victories. Bad guys or not, it's hard to say that Dream and Techno teaming up hasn't been one of the most anticipated moments in the SMP so far.
    • After Dream and Techno reveal their plans to nuke L'Manburg down to bedrock, Tommy decides that enough is enough, and rallies the entire rest of the server around him, insisting that, no matter what their past grievances are, they can't let Dream get away with destroying L'Manburg.
Tommy: SHUT UP, EVERYONE, SHUT THE FUCK UP! Alright?! We have a day! I'm s– Tubbo, we can resolve whatever we have, everyone, sorry about that dog I just killed, sorry about every– every shit thing I've done. And you should all be sorry for every shit thing YOU'VE done, I've been in EX– No, this isn't the time. Wh– (sigh) You know Dream. I saw he built a– a PRISON over there, I don't know what's happening here, I've been gone, and none of you, NONE of you came to see me. But this isn't... This isn't about that. This is about L'Manburg. And probably the rest... of the SMP, I– I– If they're really coming on at 3 PM tomorrow... Then I dunno about you all, but I'm not gonna say my goodbyes. I'm gonna prepare.
    • These lines from Ponk and Tommy.
Ponk: Would this be a revolution?
Tommy: This isn't a revolution. This is Doomsday. And we've gotta prepare for it.
  • Tubbo standing up to Quackity to stop him from having Ranboo executed for treason, a fierce reminder of what happened during the Manburg Festival and proving that Tubbo has not become "the next Schlatt".
  • Although Quackity left L'Manburg after this confrontation in a Heroic BSoD, he eventually has an epiphany after reading Ranboo's memory book (which Dream had used as proof for Ranboo's 'disloyalty' to L'Manburg) and returns to L'Manburg to fight Dream and his tyranny in the Doomsday War.
  • Another villainous example comes with the Doomsday War, during which Dream, Techno, and Phil show why the Anarchists should be the most feared faction in the SMP. They don't just win. They win so handily it's not even close. They attack fifteen minutes ahead of schedule to catch L'Manburg off-guard, and their method of attack (have Techno and his wolves provide a distraction while Dream rigs a device to launch an aerial bombing, with Phil sitting in wait to launch Withers) isn't far off from a Minecraft-esque blitzkrieg, with the attack being swift, sudden, and unpredicted. By the time of 3 PM EST, the originally-planned time of the attack, the war was pretty much already over — at that point, the L'Manburgians were reduced to fending off Techno and Phil in the smoking crater of L'Manburg as Dream continued to rain down fiery hell from above.
    • And L'Manburg wasn't completely incompetent. They took out many of Techno's attack dogs and Phil's Withers. But special credit must go to Sapnap, being the first person ever to even come close to killing Technoblade, almost reflecting how far he's come in Dream's Manhunts.
      • For context, Sapnap, with some help from the Withers, manages to bring Techno down to below half health. Momentarily, Techno even managed to reach one and a half hearts, i.e. one more sword blow or explosion away from death, before he started healing up, and Sapnap would have outright killed Techno had Techno not enderpearled away.
      • And why he decided to fight Techno head-on? He saw Quackity die (non-canonically) in the in-game chat, just after Quackity returned to the battlefield (from confronting Niki) while barely armoured, and Tommy getting one-hit killed (non-canonically as well) by Techno.
    • Jack Manifold also gets points for being the second person to come close to killing Techno. With worse gear than him, Jack challenges Techno to a duel and manages to bring Techno down to about half health before suffering fatal injuries and eventually succumbing to them... and then he drags himself out of the Afterlife out of sheer rage and vengefulness, giving himself all three lives back in the process. Although this ends up kick-starting his spiral, Jack, one of the resident Butt-Monkeys on the server, manages to get himself a Dying Moment of Awesome before becoming the Ur-Example of Back from the Dead in the Dream SMP universe.
    • After the war, Ghostbur calls out Philza for his role in the Doomsday War and how his attempt at well-intentioned extremism ruined others' lives. The ex-L'Manburgians' lament on the first anniversary of L'Manburg gaining independence seven months later only reinforces this.
  • The Season 2 finale was incredible.
    • Tubbo and Tommy, armed to the teeth, follow the compass into the wilderness... until they end up in a Shattered Savanna, arguably the coolest Biome in all of Minecraft, as set dressing for the final fight.
    • When Tommy and Tubbo confront Dream, he taunts them by pillaring up with obsidian, sealing a jukebox in obsidian and putting Mellohi in, letting it play. Tommy starts asking Dream why he asked them to come there, why he's doing any of this... while Tubbo sneaks up behind Dream and whacks him off the pillar. Tubbo then continues holding Dream off while Tommy mines the obsidian and grabs Mellohi from the jukebox. What follows is a fight much like the early days of the Disc War, with Tommy and Tubbo desperately pillaring up while trying to avoid Dream, while looking for an ender chest to put the disc into.
      • Really, Dream should get some credit too. Tommy and Tubbo manage to hold him off, and the fight seems fairly balanced... until Dream reveals he hasn't used his potions yet, and hasn't even really been trying. Once he actually starts fighting for real, he's got Tubbo backed into a corner begging for his life within seconds. He then successfully blackmails both of them into giving up all of their items... before revealing that the Mellohi-disc was a fake.
    • Dream takes Tommy and Tubbo prisoner, leading them down the mountain... then mines a wall, to reveal a pedestal. He forces the two of them onto it, then pushes a button, which makes the pedestal sink into the ground... To reveal an absolutely massive room, made entirely out of blackstone, with the discs on display. Not only that, but there's a side-room with displays for every valuable item on the server, from pets, to weapons, to rarities, to Skeppy. Dream, in his final ploy to become the ultimate puppet-master, planned to gather everyone's most valued items, and blackmail them with them.
    • Once Dream has cut off all escape routes, he tells the kids his real plan, to kill Tubbo and put Tommy in the prison. Tommy tries to fight back, but Tubbo comforts him as he accepts his impending death, and the two give each other a heartfelt goodbye... And then Punz steps through the portal. And then Sam. And Puffy. And then about half the whitelist, all armed to the teeth and ready for a fight. This scene has been compared by practically every fan to the iconic Portals scene from Avengers: Endgame, and for a damn good reason.
Punz: I'm sorry, Dream. But you should've paid me more.
      • Tommy and Tubbo quickly rush towards the group to try and hide behind them. Dream tries to rush after them to keep them from escaping... But is cut off by Sapnap and Puffy, who quickly form a human shield to protect Tommy and Tubbo.
        Sapnap: Step away from them.
Quackity: (laughing) You fucked up, Dream.
      • What follows are perhaps some of the most cathartic moments in the server's history. Tommy, who knows for a fact that Dream won't kill him, grabs the Axe of Peace, borrows Sapnap's pickaxe... and digs a hole.
Tommy: You know what, you son of a bitch, you told me everything. You said I'm too important to kill. Even now, you're not gonna– You're not gonna fuckin' kill me. You don't have the guts. (digs a hole) Put your armour in the hole. Everything on you, there.
    • Dream continues trying to gaslight Tommy, insisting they were friends, and that Tommy won't kill him. Tommy, however, has gotten smart to these tactics, and proceeds to take his revenge on Dream by taking not one, but TWO of his canon lives.
Dream: Tommy... I said I'm not gonna kill you, and I know you're not gonna kill me.
Tommy: Why would I not kill you?
Dream: 'Cause we have so much fun together! Right? Dream and Tommy. In a war, and... Fun times.
Tommy: Dream... You have caused me nothing but pain. And now... Now it's YOUR turn. (kills Dream with the Axe of Peace as everyone exclaims in shock) Where is he? [...] Dream, I'm gonna kill you, until you're dead.

    Season Three
  • Tommy and Tubbo get caught in the Egg-room by Bad and Ant, who seem very intent on not letting them leave. Tommy gets encased in obsidian, Tubbo's plan to burn the Egg down fails, and the two of them are trying desperately to figure something out... And then Sam Nook shows up.
Sam Nook: I AM SAM NOOK... I SHALL BE TAKING THESE CHILDREN WITH ME... THEY ARE UNDER MY PROTECTION...
    • What follows is a chase scene that's as harrowing as it is awesome. Tommy, in a moment of ingenuity, splashes Bad and Ant with a Turtle Master potion to slow them down, then waits until both Tubbo and Sam are in the tunnel leading out before plugging it up with obsidian. Tubbo covers the top of the bubble elevator with magma blocks as the three of them get back to the surface, and from there it's a dead sprint towards the Holy Land, with Bad and Ant hot on their heels, and Ant even taking a shortcut to try and cut them off.
  • The following day, Bad confronts Sam over his interference in their plans, specifically, to trap Tommy and Tubbo inside the Egg-room. Sam immediately takes a stand, with Puffy backing him up, and makes it very clear that, no matter what, he will not allow the Eggpire to get a hold of Tommy.
Bad: Sam... Ya got in the way. Okay, you got in the way of the objective.
Sam: No, Sam Nook got in the way, and thank God that he did! 'Cause I mean... They're CHILDREN! And his mental state is already so degraded! I mean, he's a kid!
  • The last time Tommy spent a week alone with Dream, Dream had almost fully isolated and manipulated Tommy into thinking Dream was his only friend. However, this time, Tommy spent an entire week locked in the prison with Dream and all of his PTSD triggers, resisting both (presumably, as he didn't stream during this week) Dream's manipulations and his own traumas by being deliberately annoying. He spends the majority of his stream with Dream delivering "The Reason You Suck" Speech after "The Reason You Suck" Speech and deconstructing the idea that Technoblade will break him out. Though, when he brings up how he's bluffing on the Book, the tone becomes extremely different.
  • Bad tries to get the Egg to influence Techno by being a tempting voice in his head. Unfortunately for the Egg, Techno's head is already very full of the Voices from his chat, which drowns out the Egg.
  • Foolish is a rather kind and pacifistic individual who prefers to stay out of the server's greater conflicts. When the Statue of Ra was blown up by the Eggpire, Foolish proceeded to calmly threaten them to leave and when they refused, he struck them with a bolt of lightning to send them fleeing in a panic.
  • The Red Banquet. Holy hell.
    • It starts with the Eggpire's sheer preparedness for the event. Puffy, Sam and Hannah hid weapons and armor in the ballroom, but Hannah was a spy and ratted them out, leaving Puffy empty-handed as they don the stolen armor. Sam tries to blow up the Egg, but the Egg seems to have learned from Quackity's last attempt to blow it up, and turns itself into crying obsidian to absorb the blast. Foolish, in a last effort to save his friends, tries to smite the Egg with lightning, but his powers have been nullified, and he's left completely speechless as he's dragged up to the podium and killed in Eret's place as a sacrifice to the Egg. The Egg has now become powerful enough to outlast half a nuke's worth of TNT, and negate the power of a literal god!
    • Foolish's speech to the Eggpire was nothing to sneeze at either, even if his Badass Boast resulted in not only being unable to attack the Egg but getting killed in Eret's place.
Foolish: Alright, stop! Stop, stop, stop! I have had enough! I am sick of this foul, red stench, I am TIRED of this endless cycle of Egg-nonsense, I tried– WE tried to give this dreadful Egg another chance! But it's probably best it ends this way.
    • After Foolish is killed by Ant, Bad starts gleefully picking out a new sacrifice... before being suddenly interrupted by Quackity, who jumps out of a secret tunnel, armed and ready to fight. He starts calling Bad out for all of his horrific misdeeds, and tries to get him to stand down. Bad, however, refuses, and the Eggpire surrounds Quackity, ready to take him down... not knowing that Quackity has quite the ace up his sleeve.
Bad: Guess what, Quackity? If you wanted to stop us, you should've brought more than just yourself. You should have brought an army with you.
Quackity: (chuckles) Guess what, Bad? I did! I did. In fact, I brought the next best thing. I brought my biggest enemy!
      Technoblade joined the game
      • Techno wasn't the only person that Quackity brought, however. Right after Techno and his many, many dogs enter the room, Quackity announces that he hired the best mercenary on the server: Purpled.
Bad: WE HIRED YOU TO– TO TAKE OUT PUFFY, AND YOU JOIN THE ENEMY SIDE?!
Purpled: Bad, to be frank with you... Quackity just had the better price.
      • Bad points out that, even with Techno and Purpled on his side, Quackity is still outnumbered by the Eggpire. However, while he was distracted, Quackity had slipped Puffy an axe and a strength potion that she immediately uses to avenge her son, killing Ant in three hits while he doesn't land a single hit on her.
Bad: We're not going to allow you to stop this plan! We still outnumber you! It's four against three!
Puffy: (throws down a potion of strength at her feet) Not for long! ANTFROST, YOU'RE DEAD! [...] YOU'VE TAKEN MY KINDNESS FOR WEAKNESS, ANTFROST!
  • Wilbur's resurrection concluded with a Cue the Sun moment, as well as Wilbur managing to retreat out of the suicidal state he was last seen alive in. Granted, it was more because of how horrific the Afterlife was, but it's still a step in the right direction.
  • While Quackity's behavior as a Manipulative Bastard during his May 22nd livestream is no laughing matter, it's nonetheless impressive that he survives talking down Foolish and Purpled even though they were absolutely capable of killing him, and to persuade them to consider joining Las Nevadas.
  • Quackity's the first person to ever use Elytra on the SMP with his lore stream. Yes, before Philza Minecraft.
  • Tommy's decision to bury the Axe of Peace in the hopes of never having to use it again.
  • Philza's timing in breaking Technoblade out was extremely impeccable, as he was about to be killed by Quackity. Not to mention the method he did so involved taking advantage of a bug in the game and using the Ender Pearl Stasis Chamber back at the Syndicate HQ to warp Technoblade out of there.
  • Eryn manages to get one before even joining the SMP... by allegedly ripping somebody's heart out. With his bare hands. Considering how bright-red his sleeve is, one would wonder how recently it happened before he joined. What makes it even more awesome is that Eryn is currently the youngest member of the server — even Tommy, who was previously the youngest, is a few months older than them, and this can all but solidify that the Dream SMP is a World of Badass.
  • The Jailbreak. Technoblade abused the way that the alarm system isn't extended under the lava hallway between the entrance to Dream's cell and the water tunnel exit to enter the prison and make his way to Dream's cell, before completely ignoring all the alarms and just using TNT to bypass the mining fatigue, before fighting his way past Bad and Sam to get to the extra cells, allowing him to also break out Ranboo and Connor. The four of them were able to escape using the entrance Techno made into the prison and all of them escaped except for Ranboo.
    • Sam and Bad also get a CMOA when they use the time Techno and Dream are wasting to gather everyone else on the server to try and stop the breakout. They do also take Ranboo hostage in an attempt to get Dream to surrender, considering it's Dream, he just leaves, and Ranboo's death causes Techno to mark Sam and Bad for revenge. And we all remember the last time Techno waged revenge, it was Doomsday...
    • Part of the Jailbreak is Techno, Dream, Connor, and Philza all riding horses to outrun a Wither that's chasing them. Granted, the Wither was spawned in by Niki, but it doesn't take away much from the scene.

    Season Four
  • Eryn gets another Offscreen Moment of Awesome — in trying to appeal to Eret to get them to teach him about the history of the SMP, he bribes them with the Warden's Access key card, and by that, we mean it was actually signed by Sam, as opposed to a copy he made. Given that the former owner should have been Dream of all people, the fact Eryn not only did that but also got away with it is astounding.
    • It's revealed in Wilbur's livestream "Inconsolable Differences" four real-life months later that Dream still hasn't realized the keys have since been stolen from him after Sam gave them to him, making it even more impressive.
