All spoilers will be unmarked. You Have Been Warned.

Note: The events of the Dream SMP are extended roleplay. Most 'relationships' and subtext listed here apply only to the fictional character counterparts and not the content creators themselves, so do not treat the people playing them like you would the characters they play.

Main series

  • Several members of the server are in canonical relationships with one another, the details of which will not be heavily elaborated here due to the ships' canonical nature.
    • Puffy and Niki went on a date, during which they built a flower shop together.
    • George married Ninja to obtain a visa for Tommy and Wilbur.
    • Schlatt and Quackity used to be engaged and went on a date together, but we all know how that relationship turned out, not with the destruction of the White House and the fallout that ensued.
    • Quackity, Karl and Sapnap are currently engaged to eachother in a polyamorous relationship, though in Season 3, the relationship has become rather strained, and the season ends on Karl and Quackity basically having a Second-Act Breakup over the manifestation of their respective issues that they haven't confided in anyone (of their own volition).
    • Eret used to be semi-canonically engaged to Karl and Quackity, but that relationship didn't end up working out.
    • Sam and Ponk flirt quite often, and Ponk asked Sam out on Valentine's Day, making a Woo Station for him. The two went on a picnic and dated briefly before Ponk broke up with Sam due to him flirting with Andrea Botez, and was eventually driven to join the Eggpire due to the breakup.
    • Tubbo and Ranboo were married, run a hotel together, and have a son, despite both only being teenagers.
  • The Dream Team has a lot of flirting going on.
    • Dream and George sometimes jokingly act like they're in love, and Sapnap regularly goes around demanding Dream or George kiss him.
    • Dream and Sapnap canonically got together during the middle of the Mexican L'Manberg negotiations. In front of everyone participating in the negotiations, including Puffy, George, Quackity, Karl, Eret, and HBomb.
  • When George was distracted, Sapnap crouched next to him and tries to nudge George off the crafting table, but unintentionally creating the cursed crafting table meme due to the unfortunate position on George's POV.
  • Bad and Skeppy's interaction is Like an Old Married Couple; this is especially noticeable after Techno and Skeppy troll Bad to go through Awesamdude's maze.
    • It doesn't help that Dream's hallway of "important items" has a cage for Skeppy, which Dream says is the most important thing to Bad. Or that Bad's life force is tied to Skeppy. Or that Bad chose to be re-corrupted by the Crimson because he couldn't save Skeppy from being un-corrupted by them.
  • Wilbur and Quackity's relationship is described as "borderline romantic" for good reason on the Dream SMP Wiki.
    • As early as the Election arc, a conversation on Twitter indicates that the relationship might not be as platonic as one might expect at first, especially in hindsight when Jack Manifold canonized Twitter.
WilburSoot: (captioned above a photo of Wilbur the content creator wearing a Hamilton cosplay) Please rise for your president
Quackity: (replying) Im going to kiss you in the lips right after I completely destroy you in the polls
    • During the day of the election, Wilbur calls Quackity "hot and cute and gorgeous", to which Quackity responds by kissing him.
    • Wilbur has even been caught getting... distracted by Quackity on multiple occasions.
    • In a sad way, Wilbur also revealed that the only place in Manburg that wouldn't be destroyed by his TNT in his plan to blow both himself and the nation he founded to smithereens was the White House, which he built with Quackity (and Tommy). Unfortunately, by the time he revealed this, the building had already been torn down by Schlatt.
    • The two flirted very heavily and made out during Niki's birthday party, and even sang romantic songs towards each other... just before Wilbur brings out the ultimatum to blow up Manburg that Friday.
      • In the same livestream, Wilbur apparently asks to have children with Quackity, which is, to put it bluntly, the furthest thing from what a heterosexual person would say.
    • In the note "Project Nevadas" left at Wilbur's resurrection shrine, Quackity is seen addressing Wilbur as his "dearest friend"; and while rereading the note, Wilbur affectionately calls Quackity his "old rival" and his "kinsman", before leaving to meet up with Quackity at Las Nevadas.
    • During Tommy's May 31st stream, when both Tommy and Wilbur visit Las Nevadas, Wilbur and Quackity argue over whether Tommy should get involved in Las Nevadas or Wilbur's new country. The homoerotic tension is so strong that Tommy lampshaded it multiple times in the livestream, mistaking the two to be kissing at one point and telling them to "kiss and make up" at another. There are even entire compilations and lists of the sheer amount of tension in the stream (the one linked is posted by an editor of the fan wiki).
    • According to Wilbur the content creator on Reddit, Revivedbur saw Quackity as "someone to keep him going, run him faster", because according to him, Quackity was the only one on the server to treat him like a human being after his revival, albeit a Wild Card, rather than being "insane", "evil", or a "freak".
    • In Wilbur's short story "The Wilbur Van", in the 'Hitting on 16' segment, he and Quackity have... a very homoerotically charged fistfight, with both of them pinning each other to the floor at at least one point.
    • At VidCon 2022, Wilbur answers a fan question regarding the characters' relationship, stating the two characters were in "a psycho-competitive relationship that can be construed to be romantic but it's not explicit". Quackity, on the other hand, replies to a fan question at TwitchCon that his favourite headcanon was shut down by Wilbur at "the last convention".
cc!Philza: (commentating) You did not just say that.
  • DreamXD is very fond of George, doing anything for his approval. When George asks for netherite armor from him, he makes George promise to be his friend forever.
  • One day on Twitter, Foolish posted a picture of a Minecraft skin that is a mixture between his own Totem skin and Quackity's. Considering that Twitter has been canonized, it might point to this conversation being canon as well:
FoolishTweeters: This is what @Quackity and I's minecraft child would look like...one handsome fella :D
Quackity: What happens in Las Nevadas stays in Las Nevadas
  • Quackity and Slimecicle in Las Nevadas, while not as popular as the Quackity/Wilbur pairing, do still have a good amount of homoerotic tension.
    • When they first meet, Slime kisses Quackity. He does so a second time in the stream where Quackity teaches Slime about gambling.
    • In the Lessons stream, Quackity's growing close relationship with Slimecicle is directly juxtaposed against his canonically romantic relationship with Karl and Sapnap.
    • This line in particular:
Quackity: The people I really care about are the people I keep around me. You're the first person I've kept around me for this long.
    • The note Quackity leaves for Slimecicle:
      Slime,
Wherever this box may find you, in life or in possible death, know that I will fulfill our legacy.
      – Quackity from Las Nevadas
    • In "The End of Las Nevadas", we see that Quackity was planning on giving the key to Las Nevadas to Slimecicle in a box that seems suspiciously reminiscent of a proposal.
    • When Slimecicle returns, he acts very much like a scorned ex — completely ignoring Purpled and Punz in favor of confronting Quackity, telling him that he ruined both of their lives.
    • cc!Quackity once said "my character found solace in Slimecicle" and that had there have been another Las Nevadas stream, the two would have reconciled.

Tales From The SMP

  • If Sapnap is in a Tales episode, expect the character he plays and Karl to flirt at some point, essentially taking the saying that the two are flirting across the timeline to a whole other level.
    • In "The Masquerade", after hearing that James was divorced and his family was gone, Karl compliments him on his appearance and apparently sits in his lap at one point.
    • Before their duel against each other in "The Wild West", Mason tells Karl that he'd had "a funny feeling ever since [he] walked into that damn saloon". Though he claims that it's a "me versus you" feeling, one would wonder if he was thinking of saying something else. He also has this to say just before the duel:
Mason: I can't wait to see the life leave your pretty, pretty eyes, Karl.
    • In "The Haunted Mansion", Rash outright says that he "has a very weird feeling like [he] want to smooch [Karl] right now", though Karl rejects his advances.
    • When asked to rename John the gladiator in "The Pit", Karl's first suggestion is to call him "Handsome", to which Porkius VII quickly asks for a second opinion.
    • In "The Maze", during the first puzzle, Mike Hunt dives into a hole with blue fire in an attempt to solve it, to which Karl tries to stop him, saying, "You're too handsome!" The two also sing together while figuring out the third puzzle.
  • In "The Village that Went Mad", Cornelius and Catboy share a house in every round, and Catboy calls Cornelius his partner at one point.
  • "The Wild West":
    • When Jack Kanoff claims that he's not leaving the saloon without the money he came there for, Karl retorts, "I think you are." Jack Kanoff immediately replies, "Okay," and walks right out of the saloon obediently like a Henpecked Husband.
    • Jack and Mason claim that they are "together" and not even "social distancing" can keep them apart. They also ostracize Connor among their bandit group, and before the duel, Mason claims that he likes looking at Jack, and Jack yells at Mason that he "already give[s] [him] enough love". After Jack dies, Mason kills John John in their duel against each other, saying that it was for Jack. It helps that even though Jack supposedly had a wife, he dislikes her for being a Democrat, and the aforementioned wife never does show up in the episode and doesn't live in the town.
    • Despite thinking Crops is "irredeemably bad", Karl wishes him good luck in the duel against Jack, and then there's this conversation:
Crops: You said I was your man.
Karl: (leans in and kisses Crops)
Crops: You said "my man, Crops".
      Karl: (giggles)
      Crops: I'll remember that.
Karl: That doesn't mean anything to me at all.
    • Jack shows Villain Cred for Crops for his cannibalism, and later says that he likes him. On top of this, before their duel, Jack checks Crops out and outright claims he has a "nice ass", and adds that if he ends up killing him in the duel, it was Nothing Personal... and later apparently grabs Crops "by the hips", and gives him a kiss just before the duel.
  • "The Maze":
    • Pills is very Ambiguously Gay — he allegedly hates his wife and calls her a "bitch", has said that his dreams involved a lot of men, and shouted this in a completely Non Sequitur way in the episode:
      "WHO HERE LIKES MEN?"
    • In the final challenge, Mike Hunt and Pills both wanted to sacrifice themself to complete the Labyrinth, and end up fighting over it.note
