Main Series

    Season Zero
  • Tommy and Tubbo have their own special meeting spot right by Tommy's house. It's a bench on the edge of a cliff, overlooking L'Manburg and parts of the Dream SMP. Whenever they meet there, it's always just relaxed between the two of them, cementing the fact that even though they can be quite mean to one another, they're still very close friends.

    Season One
  • Right before the election, Tubbo asks to meet Tommy at the bench. They play Cat, the first music disc they ever listened to together, and take a moment to just reminisce, before Tubbo gives Tommy Phukkit, a pufferfish he's had since he joined the server.
Tubbo: From the beginning, it's been you and me. We– we– we've had our quarrels, but overall, I th– It's been... It's been a helluva lot of fucking fun, Tommy. It's been great. It's been just so great. And... I have something for you that was actually... My first– one of the first things that I valued on this server, much like your music discs to me, actually! Because I thought this was lost ages ago, but I found it. I found it again today. And y'know what, it... (stammers) Consider it a token of good luck, for the election! I really hope this turns out for the better.
    Tommy: ...Thank you, Tubbo.
  • Though Wilbur's mental state is still fragile and tensions in Pogtopia are high, Tommy manages to convince Wilbur to (at least briefly) step back from his Mad Bomber plot, uniting the two halves of Pogtopia once more.
  • Tommy and Sapnap finally making amends, ending the Pet War, releasing Mars, and saying that no matter what happens after the war, they'll be friends in spite of being from the opposing parties.
  • Wilbur and Fundy's relationship had gotten incredibly strained by the end of the story, but when Schlatt accuses Fundy — who is canonically a transgender anthropomorphic fox — of not being a real man, Wilbur immediately jumps in to defend him.
Wilbur: Alright, nono, that's it, I don't give a– Dream, I don't care what you have to say, Schlatt, are you ready to die?!
  • Tubbo's president speech is adorkable as he fumbles his way through a metaphor regarding wood to emphasize how L'Manburg would heal from this war. He even tries to break up a potential fight between Dream's team and Tommy when the latter began to heckle at Dream. This is, sadly, the last brief few moments of calm and peace before all hell broke loose.
  • Once the dust settled on Wilbur's destruction of L'Manburg, Tommy calls out to Dream and demands they meet at the bench, asking for his discs... so that they can have a listen to it together with Tubbo. For all the crazy shit that went on, both good and bad, Tommy just wants to listen... and Dream complies, even remarking how this is not the end but rather the start of a new era.

    Season Two
  • During one stream, Phil watched Ghostbur play music on some note blocks, and placed a sign calling him the best musician in town. Ghostbur's reaction is nothing short of adorable.
    Ghostbur: (high-pitched) Really?
    Phil: Yeah!
Ghostbur: (happy squeal) What?! That's so cool, I am– I am on cloud nine!
  • After Eret fails to show up for the adoption talks in time, Fundy vents his frustrations to Phil. Phil, seeing how distraught Fundy is, immediately takes on a paternal role, comforting him and giving him a place to stay in his house. When Ghostbur then shows up and upsets Fundy further, Phil makes two fishing rods and takes him out fishing, something Fundy has always wanted to do with his dad.
    • The reason Fundy wants to learn to fish is so he can fish trash out of the ocean and make it a better environment for his mom, Sally.
  • Tommy, while being put on trial for griefing George's house, insisted up and down it wasn't him. That is until Ranboo — who was also involved — got put on trial with him, at which point Tommy admits it was him, but insists he acted alone to get Ranboo out of trouble.
    • This gives Tommy a good helping hand later on, too — when Tubbo accuses Tommy of being selfish after Dream increases the walls around L'Manburg, Ranboo comes to his defense.
Ranboo: Tubbo... You said that Tommy was selfish. You said that Tommy doesn't care about anyone else. That's not true. I robbed George's house, too. I did it with Tommy. But in court, he said that it was just him. He could've pinned the blame on me. He could've said that it was me, there was evidence that it was me. But he didn't. He's not selfish. He can't be selfish. Me and Tommy robbed George's house, we didn't mean for it burn. We didn't mean to burn anything down. It was supposed to just be a troll. [...] He covered for me. He is not selfish. Calling him selfish, after what he did — I've only been on here for about — five days, is it? That's not selfish. Tommy isn't selfish.
  • Fundy and Ghostbur finally managing to form a bond over Fundy's flying Strider. Their relationship still isn't entirely repaired, but it's at least being mended over time and it's a far cry from their previous interactions.
  • Phil and Techno have some bonding time while transporting Techno's pets to his new house. Unlike everyone else, Phil treats Techno as a person, not a weapon or a danger, and Techno is shown to be deeply appreciative of that fact, gifting Phil some Friendship Emeralds and a lodestone compass pointing to his house.
Techno: You're the only friend I have left in this world, Phil.
    Phil: Aw, mate...
Techno: The only friend I have left. Which is why... I want you to have this compass. If you ever need me, Phil... I'm going into retirement right now. I'm giving up on my violent ways, but if you ever need me, Phil...
Phil: I'll know where to find you.
    • "For you the world, Phil."
  • Several SMP members show support for Tommy after he is exiled.
    • Ghostbur tags alongside him to keep Tommy from being completely alone and even builds a house for him. Despite his amnesia, he tried very, very hard to find something that would cheer Tommy up, to the point where he even writes down a list of the things Tommy likes to make sure he won't forget. Doubles as a Tear Jerker when the gift he ends up going with is a Lodestone Compass renamed to "Your Tubbo" that points to Tubbo's house. He gifts Tubbo another compass named "Your Tommy" that points to Tommy's tent. Both Tommy and Tubbo clearly treasure the compasses; Tommy stashes his compass in his Ender Chest, right next to his discs, and Tubbo holds his compass in his hand at all times.
    • Ranboo sends a whisper reassuring Tommy that while he can't go with him Tommy has his support. He and Fundy come by later to help Tommy gather the materials for an Ender Chest, and he sets up a mailbox so that he and Tommy can communicate through a book and quill.
    • Quackity whispers an apology for not being able to prevent his exile.
    • Sam visits briefly, offering Tommy a stack of pumpkin pie and a place to stay in his base.
    • Bad made a giant present for Tommy that had a diamond pickaxe, food, resources, and a Chirp disc inside. When Dream comes by later and starts destroying Tommy's items, Bad grabs the Chirp-disc and hides it, keeping it safe.
    • Antfrost leaves Tommy a Mooshroom cow named Mushroom Henry, and while Tommy initially feels insulted by the "pity gift", he later decides to keep the cow and vows to keep it alive.
    • After Tommy practically begged Dream to be allowed to see the Christmas tree back in the main Dream SMP, Puffy came by and built him a tree of his own, gifted him some diamonds and blue wool, and assured him that she didn't do it out of pity, just that she wished him happy holidays. When Tommy logs on and sees it, he can barely hold back his overjoyed tears, and he even sends Puffy a whisper expressing his thanks.
    • HBomb gifts Tommy a picture of the Queen of England with Vikkstar and Tubbo photoshopped on her shoulders. While it looks very, very silly, Tommy is overjoyed when he receives it and hangs it next to his bed.
    • Phil came by with Wilbur, gifting Tommy a stack of coal blocks, some iron blocks, Tommy Slippers (a pair of renamed diamond boots), and a Friendship Emerald. While Tommy was initially hesitant to let Phil in, considering he's friends with Techno, he eventually put that disagreement to the side and allowed Phil to help him set up the beach party location.
    • Of all people, Tubbo showed up too. While he spent most of the time hiding from Dream, he did occasionally pop out to wave at Tommy. Tubbo has said that he regrets exiling Tommy, that he really misses him, and consistently holds the "Your Tommy" compass in his offhand.
  • Doubles as a Tear Jerker. Tubbo's conversation with Ranboo while watching the sunset, in which Tubbo gives Ranboo his full blessing for his presidential campaign in February.
Tubbo: I hope you can do a better job than I have... (sad laughter)
Ranboo: (soft laugh) You haven't done too bad.
Tubbo: ...I didn't want any of this...
Ranboo: Yeah, you kinda got thrown into it, didn't you?
Tubbo: (hums) I feel like... Ranboo, you'd be a good president. You'd be a fitting president.
    Ranboo: Yeah... I don't know...
Tubbo: As long as you respect tradition... and embrace change... you'll be good. You'll be good. [...] If you win, you will have this.
Ranboo: Yeah... I dunno what I'm gonna do with it.
    Tubbo: Make it better.
  • Quackity trusts Sapnap and Karl with the hidden location of his skeleton horse, which he claims is the "only thing [he] has left". Seeing him show such an intimate degree of trust of his fiancés is honestly very heartwarming, especially because he's later revealed to already have Took a Level in Cynic due to extensive trauma by that point... and all the more heartbreaking three and a half months later, because... well, that goes in the Tear Jerker page.
  • Drista's return, solely for making Tommy happy again. You can tell he's finally getting excited about things again as he waits for her to show up, and while their interactions are mostly funny, it's clear he's feeling much better by the end of it.
    • Drista, despite how much she ribs on Tommy the entire time, clearly does feel for him, and manages to persuade Dream to give Tommy visitation to the main Dream SMP for an hour.
  • Phil's interactions with Wilbur, Techno and Tommy during the attack of the Butcher's Army are very heartwarming as well; he clearly cares a lot about them, as shown in his interactions with them.
    • Phil adamantly refused to rat out Techno to the Butcher's Army, and warned him immediately when Tubbo found the compass pointing at Techno's house. He later broke his house arrest twice to check if Techno was okay, at risk of being caught and punished worse.
Phil: Carl's safe. Techno's safe. Tommy's safe. That's all I need to know.
    • Ghostbur off-handedly mentions to Phil that Logstedshire got blown up. Phil, immediately concerned, presses him for more answers, and eventually figures out that Dream was the one that did it. When Tommy joins the call later, Phil is visibly relieved that he's okay, gently asks what happened to Logstedshire, and later on, goes to check on Tommy at Techno's house.
    • When talking to Ghostbur, Phil is incredibly gentle. He knows that Ghostbur isn't all there, and is very sensitive, so he stays very calm the entire time. He never gets annoyed at having to explain over and over why he can't leave his house, and when Ghostbur accidentally kills Friend, his pet sheep, Phil is quick to comfort him, reassuring him that Friend has infinite canon lives and will respawn as a white sheep soon.
  • The dynamic between Techno and Tommy is surprisingly heartwarming.
    • Techno handles Tommy's trauma extremely well. Generally, Techno never forces Tommy to do anything, or to come to a particular conclusion, instead letting him figure it out on his own. Techno could tell Tommy that Dream is evil and Tommy would probably accept that, but Tommy's trauma stems from the fact that he was powerless, with someone else having total control over his actions and thoughts. Techno gives him that control, letting Tommy decide whether or not to hide from Dream, whether or not Dream is his friend, and what he wants to do, only interfering when Tommy is actually in danger (for example, Techno didn't tell Tommy to leave L'Manburg until they'd run out of invisibility potions). When Tommy had a panic attack at the sight of the Final Control Room, Techno quickly reassured him that he didn't need to talk about it, and that recovery doesn't happen in a day.
    • It's worth noting that Techno's voices (AKA his chat) are also very protective over Tommy. When Dream showed up at the house looking for Tommy, the chat freaked out, yelling at Techno to hide Tommy and to not let Dream see him.
  • Before Doomsday, Tubbo and Tommy met up at the bench to have a heart-to-heart. Both of them genuinely apologized to eachother for the things they said the previous day, Tommy apologized for burning George's house down, Tubbo apologized for exiling Tommy. While their friendship has suffered a lot, it is on the mend.
  • After realizing that L'Manburg is beyond saving, Tommy, Tubbo, Quackity and Ghostbur stand solemnly on a nearby hill, staring out over the crater... Then Quackity pulls out his guitar and invites everyone to sing the national anthem with him, one last time. All four of them join in, in a bittersweet moment of unity despite everything.
    • They were not the only ones to sing the anthem. On Twitter, SAD-ist posted her own cover of the L'Manburg anthem as a tribute.
      SAD-ist: Our L'Manberg o7
  • Despite his self-doubt and frequent breakdowns, Ranboo seems to have found somewhere that he thinks he will be okay in by moving to stay with Philza and Technoblade. Phil is there to meet him when he arrives, and offers to build him his own house next to the to-be-constructed dog kennel. After the pained monologues and stunned silence of the rest of the Doomsday stream, he finally sounds hopeful again.
  • Ghostbur's relationship with Eret was... strained for a long time. Ghostbur was under the impression that Eret was the bad guy of the server, due to his role in the L'Manburg War for Independence. However, after actually speaking to Eret face-to-face, Ghostbur decides that Eret isn't a bad person after all, and after Eret offers to help resurrect him, Ghostbur says that once he's come back to life, he's going to amend the L'Manburg National Anthem to say something to the effect of "and Eret" instead of "fuck Eret".
    • Eret, for his part, is determined to bring Wilbur back to life, both for his ability to bring unity to a server that is beyond divided right now, and to be a father figure to Fundy once again.
Eret: I think, if we can get you back, Fundy can have a father again.
Ghostbur: Okay! Did Fundy like Alivebur?
Eret: (soft laugh) He-he loved you.
  • On January 20th, 2021, Tommy and Tubbo set off from the Dream SMP to fight to the death against Dream one last time... AND WIN! With the help of Punz gathering almost the entire rest of the server, Dream is imprisoned in Pandora's Vault, and Tommy and Tubbo finally retrieve the discs, putting an end to the Disc Wars once and for all. It's been so long since either of the two have achieved a victory, which makes this one all the more sweeter.

    Season Three
  • After Tommy's visit to Dream in the prison, he realizes he now has a Riptide-trident of his own. Tommy spends the next ten minutes finding high platforms to launch himself off of, whooping and hollering as he jumps around from pool to pool. For the first time since his exile, we get to see Tommy completely unburdened, without worry, finally able to act like a kid again.
    Tommy: (laughing) WE'RE FREE!
  • Tommy's relationship with Sam, as many people have pointed out, is extremely positive. When Sam needs Tommy to do boring tasks for him, he doesn't force him to do it, instead, he makes it fun for him with the "Sam Nook"-bit. He's considerate of Tommy's trauma, and doesn't force him to come to a conclusion about the things he's still confused about (for example, when Tommy said he's not sure whether he wants Wilbur back, he tells Sam he gets confused easily, to which Sam replies "It's okay, life's confusing"). He also came to Tommy's rescue when Bad and Ant tried to trap him with the Egg, and Bad's intent to hurt Tommy is the catalyst that puts him definitively on the opposing side of the Eggpire.
    • Tommy in return is just as caring to Sam, even if he doesn't show it as often. When Sam Nook informs Tommy that he's hungry and will most likely starve, Tommy immediately goes into a panic, throwing an enchanted golden applenote  at him with no hesitation or expectation of its return.
  • During Bad's pitch to Techno about joining the Eggpire, he manages to figure out that Techno cared a lot about Ranboo, eventually subtly threatening him as a last resort to get Techno on his side. Techno shrugs it off, but after a short scuffle which ended with Ranboo being thrown down a pit Techno loses his calm demeanor, calling for Ranboo to teleport or trident out. When told that Ranboo couldn't teleport and had left his trident at home he immediately throws his own prized trident down, along with several Ender Pearls, showing just how much he cares for Ranboo's well-being.
  • As heartbreaking as Tommy's death was, the response from the rest of the server was so heartwarming. Ranboo just about smothered his house in flowers, Puffy built a shrine by the Prime Path dedicated to his memory, Foolish made a pixelart statue of Tommy in his L'Manburg uniform over his house, Tubbo built a memorial near Snowchester with things that symbolize Tommy (a bench, a jukebox, a replica of the Prime Log, cobblestone surrounding the flowerbed and an oak wood headstone), and Eret organized a celebration of life and a (very make-shift) Viking Funeral attended by herself, Puffy and Foolish, and plans to build a crypt under her museum dedicated to Tommy's memory. As much as Dream tried to convince Tommy that nobody cared about him, the server has definitively proved him wrong.
    • Puffy, especially, has dedicated herself to protecting Tommy's memory, kicking the Eggpire out of Tommy's house when they tried to use it to celebrate his death, tearing down the Egg headquarters in response to them moving to the hotel, and remaining determined to keep the hotel out of Jack's hands.
  • During Ranboo's stream following Tommy's death, Ranboo picks a bunch of flowers, and completely covers Tommy's house with them. Once he's done, he pulls out a single allium and stands on the path, facing the door.
Ranboo: Remember this? I gave him one of these, and he immediately insulted me. That was the first time we've ever interacted. (sigh) I gave him one of these, he insulted me, and then... I helped with the thing that led him to... his demise. (Beat) So... So here, Tommy. Have a flower.
    • Ranboo spends the rest of the stream noting how Tommy probably hated flowers, and how Tommy probably didn't consider him a friend. However, near the end of the stream, Ranboo finds one of Tommy's hidden chests. Sitting in the middle of that chest? The allium he gave Tommy that day.
Ranboo: It's the flower that I gave to him...
  • Even with his initial elation at Tommy's death, Jack Manifold still went to check on Tubbo, and make sure he was doing all right.
  • After getting out of prison, while Tommy is still obviously very traumatized, he's consciously making strides to get better. He gets super excited when he finds that Puffy has responded to his request for therapy, and while he's initially hesitant, he eventually opens up about his feelings, specifically the fear that he's been replaced and his fear of taking damage to Tubbo and Ranboo. He's a long way from okay, but damn if he isn't trying.
    • Tubbo and Ranboo, for their part, try to do everything they can to make Tommy more comfortable. They calmly refute his claims that Tubbo is replacing him with Ranboo, they protect him from mobs after Tommy tells them about his new phobia of getting hurt, they try to make light of the situation but stop immediately once Tommy tells them it's too soon, and Tubbo gifts him a full set of diamond armor from Snowchester's vault to protect him.
    • After finding out that Ranboo married Tubbo, Tommy was initially somewhat hostile towards Ranboo due to a fear of being replaced, but he becomes much more civil and amicable about it after knowing that Ranboo makes Tubbo happy.
  • After the loss of Henry (again), Tommy sits down on the bench to play a music disc. Ranboo, who accompanied him to the vault, stands next to the bench looking at the sunset with him. Tommy and Ranboo were still not on good terms at this point, but even then, when Tommy notices him standing there, he invites him to come sit on the bench with him.
    Tommy: You gonna sit down?
  • Despite the heartbreaking circumstances where it was revealed, the fact that Quackity had built Las Nevadas with his fiancés and George in mind, with customized casinos for each of them, and it is also heavily implied that he was going to formally propose to his fiancés in the near future; jossing the popular fan theory that he had abandoned his loved ones in pursuit of power, and instead showing that he was working on this project for weeks for them, and he still cared about them deeply.
    • A further note is that Quackity had previously claimed that the Las Nevadas had no place for emotions or personal feelings, but in fact his sentimentality is a cornerstone to the faction, as at least three of the casinos there are built with his loved ones in mind. Actions truly do speak louder than words.
    • Prior to the revelation of Kinoko Kingdom being built and El Rapids being abandoned, Quackity and George had a very joyous reunion in front of the prison, after weeks (if not longer) of not seeing each other.
    • Before that, Quackity also dug into the Egg's chambers and piled the place high with stacks of TNT, with full intent to destroy the Egg, because he wanted Bad to return to normal again. Although the stunt utterly failed and motivated the Eggpire to reinforce the Egg against further explosions, it's the thought that counts.
  • Quackity and Techno teaming up to crash the Red Banquet, considering the sheer amount of beef they had with each other, to the point of referring to each other as their enemies. With said beef consisting of a lot of trauma and a Cycle of Revengenote , as well as their opposing ideologies, knowing that they put all of this aside, even if temporarily, to take down a common enemy and save lives together is best described to be a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
  • After having Tubbo and Ranboo help him face his fears, Tommy asks to talk to Tubbo alone... but not before walking up to Ranboo, giving him a hug, and thanking him. He later admits to Tubbo that, while he has a lot of issues with jealousy, he does genuinely like Ranboo and think he's a good person.
    • During the same stream, when Tommy entered the recreation of the Final Control Room, he was initially very panicky and was opening the chests there at random... until he noticed a book in Wilbur's chest. He opened it, and after reading Eret's apology to Wilbur, he concluded that "times have changed, and so have people", indicating that he forgives Eret for their betrayal and recognizes their growth. After exiting, much calmer this time, he thanked Eret through chat for helping Tommy face his fears, with Eret replying that it was an honor and wishing him good luck.
  • While it ends terribly, there's something very sweet about Tommy helping Ghostbur calm down after he ends up trapped with Dream on the other side of the lava in the prison by counting to ten with him.
  • Even with the air of dread that comes with his return, seeing Wilbur's sheer joy at being alive again is oddly uplifting.
Wilbur: (cackling) I'M– FUCK, I'M ALIVE! TOMMY, I'M ALIVE! I HAVE SPENT THIRTEEN AND A HALF YEARS IN THE FUCKING– (heavy breathing, laughing in disbelief) [...] Tommy, this is bliss! Oh, my god, the sunrise, I need to watch the sunrise!
  • Despite the tensions and rifts caused by Doomsday and Techno's failed execution, Fundy and Phil do still care for one another. Phil makes sure to tell Fundy personally about Wilbur's revival and later they spend half of an hour together searching for him. It's a very bittersweet moment between the two and they leave on much better terms then they were before.
  • Wilbur's reunion with Phil was the most heartwarming thing to come out of his first stream back on the server. Phil was absolutely overjoyed to see his son again, and Wilbur, after admiring Phil's building skills and laughing at the pictures of himself and Tommy that Phil still had up on the walls, sheepishly asked if he could move in. What makes this even more heartwarming is how Philza reacted when he first learned the news and believed that Wilbur would be further unhinged.
  • A couple of subtle moments during Quackity's May 22nd lore stream, especially overshadowed by the sheer amount of Nightmare Fuel in the stream.
    • When Slimecicle gets excited over seeing snowfall for the first time and asks what it is, Quackity jokingly calls it coke, and almost seems surprised at himself for being able to make such a joke. It's slightly reassuring that even beneath his ongoing ruthlessness and desperation, there's still a sliver of the idealistic, drug-dealing cloudcuckoolander buried deep down somewhere within him.
    • Another moment occurs in the same stream when Quackity sneaks into Purpled's UFO to plant TNT in it, as he breaks a shroomlight and has a light-hearted peek-a-boo session with Sam, who is directing from afar. Even though Sam is still very straight-laced about the situation, it's another small reminder that the old Quackity isn't entirely gone.
  • Even though he acts like a cold-hearted, manipulative businessman most of the time, Slimecicle does appear to have grown on Quackity like moss, and Quackity genuinely seems to care for Slimecicle and his well-being, such as becoming concerned for Slimecicle developing a gambling addiction, making plans to build him a home, and when Slimecicle is seen standing recklessly close to the edge of a balcony, frantically steering him away from jumping off of it.
    • Quackity also tells Slimecicle not to trust anyone. While this might be considered odd or even vaguely manipulative on the surface, considering that "don't trust anyone" has become Quackity's mantra since the New L'Manburg days, and he has previously entrusted the same advice to Tommy and Tubbo, it can be assumed that Quackity does see Slimecicle as someone he has a protective instinct for. Later in the same stream, Quackity also gives him a Declaration of Protection, saying that he will defend Slimecicle with his sword, his abilitiesnote , and the people he knows.
  • May 31st, 2021:
    • The start of the stream where Tommy and Wilbur head down to Las Nevadas is rather sweet, where the two are joking around like how they used to, back in simpler times. Sadly, the amicable moments don't last as the stream goes on, but it was a nice nostalgic moment.
    • While Wilbur and Quackity spend most of the stream bickering, passive-aggressively or directly, it's very telling that the one thing that immediately snaps them out of their conversation is Tommy suddenly climbing on the railing and talking about jumping off. Concerned, they both rush over to him and usher him away from the edge. It's a very fast moment, but it's one that shows deep down, they do care for Tommy's well-being.
  • The Syndicate coming by to celebrate Technoblade's birthday was mostly wholesome, save for the bombshell of Wilbur being dropped and Quackity pulling Techno aside to tell him about Dream.
  • During Foolish's stream on June 2nd 2021, Foolish finally gave Quackity the enchanted set of Netherite armor he had been working on for a few days. Though Quackity portrays himself as a cold, ruthless businessman; he is stunned to silence by the gesture, questioning why Foolish did it despite not being asked, and seemingly being in awe of receiving a gift. Quackity notes it's been a while since he last had Netherite, and thanks Foolish for the armor. This gets even more heartwarming when you remember Sam used to give and supply Quackity with new armor and tools every time he seemed to inevitably lose them.
  • Slimecicle has a very blasé attitude towards human mortality and life in general, stemming from the fact that he's incredibly old and non-human to boot, and generally makes off-handed remarks about the people around him turning into insignificant piles of dust over time. However, when Quackity asks him when he thinks Quackity will turn to dust, Slimecicle exclaims that he'll make sure Quackity never turns into dust.
  • The stream where Ranboo and Slimecicle canonically interact for the first time is very funny, but it also quickly becomes wholesome.
    • Ranboo's patient attitude really stands out once he starts teaching Slimecicle about how friendship actually works. He even rubs a little bit of slime on himself when Slimecicle expresses concern over him looking "a little light on the gloop"note  and passes him a slime ball to patch himself up.
    • After the conversation ends, Ranboo says that Slimecicle reminds him of himself after first joining the server, particularly in the sense of being dragged into a larger conflict that he didn't really understand. He ultimately decides to try and look out for Slimecicle as best as he can manage.
  • While Tommy is rebuilding his house, a spider runs over to him and stares up at him, without attacking. Tommy immediately goes full Cuteness Proximity.
Tommy: (softly; high pitched) Hello! Hello, you went all the way over there, to me! AWWW, HELLO! What's your name?
    (spider screeches)
Tommy: (triumphant laugh) I'm gonna name you Shroud!
  • On Reddit, Wilbur the content creator posted a long and heartbreaking update on how Ghostbur was doing after what he perceived to be six years in the Afterlife. However, he added in a comment that unlike everyone else, Tommy has never forgotten about him and still speaks highly of him.
WilburSoot: A silver lining: Tommy still speaks frequently and highly of Ghostbur! Although ghotbur believes he's failed Tommy he still is motivated to read the display in hopes of seeing another positive phrase from Tommy
He repeats these little phrases for months until he forgets what they were
  • "One Year Later":
    • Wilbur recalling on the first anniversary of L'Manburg's independence that Tommy used to sing to the plants of L'Manburg to help them grow. More specifically, he sang "Hallelujah", so Wilbur wrote L'Manburg's national anthem to the song's tune in honour of his loyal compatriot and younger brother-figure.
    • In addition to that, Wilbur spends part of the livestream praising Tubbo's resilience to forgive him and carry on in spite of his trauma.
Wilbur: Tubbo, do you know how fucking strong you are? And I'm not– I'm not just saying that, I've alr– I've got your forgiveness, and I know I need to earn your trust, but man, I just wanna let you know that... You're so strong, man. Genuinely. Just the fact that you proved to me just there, that you... you have these memories, you have these nightmares, and you still found it in your heart to forgive me, that... You're a fucking champion, man. You're a hero.
    • Wilbur also opens up and considers the fact that people cared enough about L'Manburg to rebuild it after he destroyed the nation "probably the best gift [he's] ever been given". For both himself and the audience, it's a much-needed reminder that both Wilbur and the other L'Manburgians cared about their country greatly before it fell.
  • Doubles as a Tear Jerker. The message Technoblade wrote for Phil that also acted as a will in case he did not survive his visit to Pandora's Vault.
    "Dear Ph1lza Minecraft,
I am going to the prison to visit Dream and make sure he's alright. If I do not return within a few days, activate the pearl I left in our book club's meeting room. If the pearl is gone, well, it was nice knowing you. Look after the others for me when I'm gone.

I left my valuables in a barrel hidden in the top floor's ceiling and a chest under the stone in a corner of that one weird room under the house with pistons. Distribute them as you see fit. Please keep Steve and the foxes well-fed; the wolves can be released into the wilderness.

Tell Ranboo & Niki that they're stronger than they know.
Tell Tommy I hope he finds what he's looking for, whatever that is.
Phil, I'm glad I met you in this life.

Tell the rest of the SMP that having abolished all governments of men, I have ascended to heaven to take on the Kingdom of God."

  • Even though Wilbur's update on Ghostbur on November 20th, 2021 is about as heartwrenching as the one he posted about 4 months previously, it is noted that Ghostbur still tries to hold on to the memories of Tommy's kindness even after 16 years in a torturous Afterlife/limbo.
  • In Quackity's November 27th "Las Nevadas" stream, the heartbreaking and heartwarming moments go hand in hand.
    • Slime's status as Quackity's Morality Pet is fully secured as his armour-piercing questions cause Quackity to reflect on himself, and even as Purpled shoves Slime down into the lava pit, Quackity shows zero hesitation in jumping down after him, and is visibly seen to have grown attached to Slime through his grief — and acknowledging him to be 'human', thus naming him Charlie.
    • Quackity and Sapnap's reunion and them touring their respective countries, even with the former's reservations. Even the background music itself acknowledges how soft they are for each other, alongside the acknowledgement that they had built their current respective countries for each other to share... and they have adorable bantering moments too.
Sapnap: (while touring Kinoko) Well, you see up there? There's our dragon on top of the mountain. It protects us at all times. It's not actually a real dragon, but... you get the point.
Quackity: (smiling) I don't think you guys would get a real dragon, so...
Sapnap: Hey, don't put it past me.
    • There's also a moment where Sapnap shows Quackity an empty house opposite of Tina's "in case someone wants to join", and then starts coughing conspicuously and lightly punches Quackity. Yeah, Sapnap, real smooth.–
  • The day after the last "Las Nevadas" stream comes the day Dream escapes from prison, sending the server into chaos. However, admist the chaos, there's still some heartwarming moments.
    • During the prison break, Technoblade refuses to leave Ranboo behind, even demanding that Dream help him break him out, despite the obvious and incredible danger that doing so entails; and when Ranboo dies after the break out, Technoblade drops his trademark casual attitude and makes a beeline for Sam, fully intending on avenging Ranboo then and there. It goes to show that despite Technoblade's outward appearance, he truly cares a great deal about Ranboo.
  • After being freed from prison, Dream approaches Tommy outside the ruins of Logstedshire, before chasing him across the wilderness. The kid's first instinct is to run for Phil's house. And Phil earnestly takes him in, reassuring him. He even downright declares that he'll kill Dream next time he sees him.
    • Later, Quackity deliberately seeks Tommy out to help him cope with it, calming him down and giving him obsidian (black blocks) and yellow concrete to fortify his house and make him feel safer, as well as a reminder of L'Manburg — while bearing in mind that Quackity personally associates walls with exclusion. Quackity also gives Tommy some of his netherite armour for protection and the two share ladders as a sign that they have each other's backs.
      • What makes this more Heartwarming in Hindsight is that it shows Quackity has taken his personal reflections courtesy of Slime to heart and learning to pull himself out of the spiral he had gone down. In a way, Quackity is indeed honouring Slime's legacy through that.
      • Tommy also tries to "/hug" Quackity.

    Season Four
  • January 29th, 2022:
    • Tubbo, Technoblade, and Eret teaming up, as it shows the Character Development all three of them have gone through. Though there are some barbs between them for their slights against each other, they're all able to apologize to each other — particularly, Techno and Eret apologizing for their betrayals of Tubbo at the Red Festival and the Final Control Room — and let bygones be bygones.
    • Later in the same stream, after rescuing Michael, the three bring him to Ranboo's old residence in the former Arctic Anarchist Commune for safekeeping. Boo meets them there and proceeds to dote on his son, and gives Tubbo a pink tulip in response to Tubbo returning his "Do not read" memory book to him from the prison lockers.note
  • The first half of Eryn's 12 February 2022 lore stream "The Origins of Eryn" is a walking, non-talking Heartwarming moment.
    • In the first flashback sequence, set 20 years before the present day, a man who looks a lot like Eryn ventures into the Nether and meets a Demon woman, only for the two to be attacked by a Piglin patrol. The two fight off the patrol and seem to gradually fall in love, trusting each other not to hurt themself (as seen with the two taking their respective armour off) and going through a portal to the Overworld. After going through, the Demon also gives a flower to the human man, who happily accepts. So perhaps some of the straights are okay, which only makes what happens later in the stream all the more tragic.
    • In the second flashback sequence, Eryn wanders off and travels by horse to a random taiga village in the middle of nowhere in particular, then knocks on a door, to reveal... TommyInnit, and the two were seen to each other how to shoot and swim in later sequences, and sail out by boat to see the sunset. Knowing what happens to both of them later down the storyline makes this a lot sadder, but at the end of the day, they're just a couple of boys, being best friends (or some may even say brothers-by-choice).
  • The second quarter of Wilbur's livestream "Into Pogtopia" features him trying to bond with Fundy again after coming across him in the Pogtopia ravine. Awkward as the interactions may be, those were some pretty cute moments. Wilbur's chat was even visibly spammed with "Aww"s throughout the conversation.
  • Wilbur's 6 June 2022 livestream "inconsolable Differences" is filled with his interactions with Tommy, and the Heartwarming shines through in the whole stream.
    • The stream starts off with Wilbur talking to Tommy about his conversation with Fundy, indicating he trusts him enough to talk about it.
    • The conversation then shifts towards Tommy's "holiday to the beach" that Ghostbur went with him on, but as Tommy tells him it wasn't a holiday but rather an Exile, Wilbur asks him why he hasn't told him this before, growing incredibly concerned.
    • Wilbur manages to convince Tommy into going to Logstedshire, the Exile spot, to talk about his issues in turn (with the condition that they'd leave if Tommy felt too uncomfortable talking about it)... and Tommy does in turn trust Wilbur with the knowledge of what actually happened to him in Exile... right down to Dream's abuse, albeit with Wilbur still being Innocently Insensitive at this point.
    • Then Tommy reveals the purpose of the Tower to the clouds he built in Exile... which is heartwarming — and heartwrenching — on two parts: 1) Tommy trusts Wilbur enough to tell him about that, and 2) Wilbur's immediate reaction is to have an Imagine Spot where he breaks into Pandora's Vault to give Dream a piece of his mind by screaming in his face and beating the living daylights out of him.
      • Later in the stream, Wilbur tells Dream that he owed him a debt for bringing him Back from the Dead "until about 20 minutes ago" (most likely in real-life minutes), indicating that this is what snapped him out of his positive view of Dream.
    • As Wilbur devises a plan to 'avenge' Tommy, the two go down to the beach to dance to the Cat disc. One would suppose that Tommy did end up having his beach party after all...
    • The 'avenging' plan is to force Dream to write and sign a document stating the legitimacy of L'Manberg and his status as a terrorist to the nation, then have him burn fake Cat and Mellohi discs. While the former part involves Wilbur threatening to upend a bucket of lava on himself to burn himself alive if he doesn't do exactly what he says, the latter part makes use of some serious in-universe Enforced Method Acting and Wilbur isn't exactly clued in on what Dream's focus on control truly revolves around, it's still a respectable act done with the fairly noble intention of getting Tommy out of Dream's control.
    • The livestream ends with The Reveal that fake discs were used for the plan and Wilbur expressing pride in Tommy and calling him a "good kid".
  • The Stinger of Wilbur's lore finale is an animation of friend the sheep being dropped off in limbo to reunite with Ghostbur. While it is cut out of the final product, the artist behind the animation, scivious, shows Ghostbur's truly radiant smile in reaction to finally being no longer alone.
  • The "Las Nevadas" finale on 10 September 2022 follows up on the previous episode on the Heartwarming on some level.
    • The first chapter, "Trust", has Quackity visit Charlie's 'grave' located on the outskirts of the country, decorating it with a picture of the two together, and stating outright that he trusted him. He also recounts a moment before Charlie's "death" when he gave him a key to Las Nevadas, saying Charlie would inherit Las Nevadas if/when he died. Charlie's response?
Charlie: Quackity from Las Nevadas, you're breaking a lesson. You said "Trust nobody"... do you trust me?
    • All of that, and not to mention Quackity's overjoyed reaction at Charlie's return to Las Nevadas, even if everything goes south in minutes.

Tales From the SMP

  • It's a brief moment, but after he comes home from "The Maze", Karl decides to write down the names of people he loves so that he won't forget them, and he starts the list off by immediately writing down Sapnap's name. It's a heartfelt moment showing how much he loves his fiancé... though it quickly turns heart-wrenching when he forgets to put down a certain other name.

Other

  • People noticed that pretty much every hashtag or phrase that went trending on Twitter had a custom description attached to it, so people out of the loop wouldn't get confused (which was a necessity with trending phrases like "BLOW IT UP!"). The fandom promptly banded together and got #thankyoudescriptionman trending.
  • Dream purposely doesn't stream his perspective of the Dream SMP because he knows his massive popularity will cause many people to watch his perspective rather than any of the others'. By not streaming (or even recording) the SMP, Dream causes fans to watch the perspectives of the other content creators involved, helping them grow more.
  • As many people who do improv-theatre have pointed out, the level of trust and respect these people have for each other in order to pull off highly emotional scenes has to be immense. Things like the argument between Schlatt and Quackity couldn't have happened the way they did if the people involved weren't very, very close friends.
    • Similarly, during an in-character conversation with Phil, Wilbur noticed Phil was getting a bit uncomfortable with suddenly being thrust into a roleplay-heavy conversation, as he'd never really done roleplay before then. Wilbur responded to this by immediately breaking character with a few jokes and changing the topic.
    • Something similar happened with Tommy. Wilbur started to speak to him out of character, asking him why Character-Tommy was sad and lonely when he had constant visitors, which clearly made Tommy uncomfortable.
Tommy: Can I be really honest with you? This is really strange to talk about on stream.
Wilbur: D'you want me to stop?
      Tommy: Yeah.
Wilbur: Okay, what do you wanna talk about?
      Tommy: Girls.
    • Schlatt at one point mentioned about how people have been sending hate messages to certain members due to their actions in the roleplay. He then tells all those people to stop doing it and send the messages to him, because he can take it.
  • The members have stated many times that they don't want to misrepresent the minority groups they play. Wilbur and Fundy have said that if the fans were uncomfortable with Fundy's character being trans, they would retcon it out, and Ranboo has very explicitly stated that his character does not have a Split Personality, because he doesn't want to misrepresent actual systems.
  • During one of George's "lore" streams, he lifts the green screen to reveal Tommy, Niki, Tubbo, and Jack, all enter the room where he was streaming... i.e. where Tommy streams. It goes to show how close these people are to each other. It's later revealed that the content creators went on to drop Tommy off at college.
