Per a previous discussion, I had updated Lying Creator to account for situation that happened during the past year as I understand it based upon the research I've done.

Now Lying Creator has been changed to say Kevin Smith lied again about returning focus to Adam/He-Man in part 2 because it actually focuses on Evil-Lyn's backstory and her relationship to Skeletor.

Kevin Smith said the story would return focus to Adam / He-Man. He never said the story would focus exclusively on Adam / He-Man.

Part 2 balances story-telling between all the major characters (Adam, Teela, Man-At-Arms, Skeletor, Evil-Lyn). It doesn't focus just on Evil-Lyn.

A review of the episodes in Part 2 shows that Adam/He-Man has narrative beats, emotional beats or action beats in every episode.

Episode 6 - We watch Skelegod wreak havoc, kills the Sorceress, Adam is healed, Adam calls down the power to become Savage He-Man.

Episode 7 - Most of episode dedicated to Savage He-Man battling with Skelegod, Adam reconciles with his father the King.

Episode 8 - Adam learns that his secret as He-Man drove a wedge into his parents marriage. Adam reconciles with his mother, the Queen. We learn of Evil-Lyn's history with Skeletor and see her trick him into releasing the power so she can take it herself becoming God-Lyn.

Episode 9 - Adam and Skeletor team up to attack God-Lyn directly. Unlike Skeletor, Adam actually manages to score a hit on God-Lynn. Meanwhile Man-at-Arms, Andra and Teela make their way to the Sorceress's pool so Teela can assume the role of Sorceress. Eternia rallys all her citizens to fight. God-Lyn raises the dead for the final battle.

Episode 10 - Massive climatic battle. All main characters have their moment to shine. Adam reclaims the sword and becomes He-Man again. His shining moment is when he single-handedly takes down a flying dragon causing it to crash and explode. Teela battles God-Lyn and vanquishes the "God" power. In the denouement, Adam reconciles with Teela for keeping He-Man a secret and they re-establish their roles as Sorceress and Champion should the series continue into Season 2.

I can understand those that don't like the story Kevin Smith and his writing team have told. But I don't think it's fair to keep claiming that he lies and then cherry-pick a portion of the story told in Part 2 to support that "he lied" and ignore the rest of the story.

Jesus, this came from fucking Clownfish TV? And people picked it up?!? God, fandoms are stupid sometimes.

Anyway, someone moved this to YMMV, but then it was deleted from there. It's currently not on the page and the entry was so bloated and complicated that I think anything of a complete, succinct rewrite is pointless. Trivia can't be played with so "subverted by the second part of the first season" isn't possible. And "well, it didn't focus enough on He-Man" is splitting hairs. Like, even in Part 1, He-Man's absence was palpable In-Universe and he managed to drive a lot of the plot by just not being there. Part 2 admittedly did have him not be the one to solve the final plot beat but it was also unquestionably the best showing He-Man has ever had in my opinion.

Also, just pointing out that Lying Creator was initially added by a ban evader who, if you search for him in ATT, even after being banned was cited several times for agenda-based editing.

Honestly, I'm fine just leaving it deleted. It's really just gossip about contention Kevin Smith had with a vocal minority who want to tag him as a lying creator even though that label is debatable at best. Given the furor it has caused, just leave it alone.

I'm not sure Lying Creator would be entirely appropriate here but maybe Misaimed Marketing or Never Trust a Trailer might be in effect as a number of the trailers did mainly focus on He-Man and Skeletor, possibly giving the impression that they had more screen-time in the series than they actually did. This would most likely go in YMMV, however, as it's probably a matter of opinion.

Okay so how do we handle this Lying Creator thing? Seems like we're constantly putting it in and then taking it out almost every week at this point. Also because we can't exactly ignore that at this point almost everyone and their mother that has heard of this show is knowledgeable about him lying about this show that it can easily fit into Overshadowed by Controversy levels.

Also I still feel like the Undermined by Reality is still fitting just needs to be worked out.

Don't you think it's too soon to add overshadowed by controversy? But yeah, if the number of videos and reviews i saw is any indication, the whole "He-man gets sidelined in favor of Teela" thing is the most people remember in this show

I didn't say about adding Overshadowed by Controversy I'm just talking about how the whole debacle with Lying Creator is reaching that levels dude.

So, yeah. With Part 2 out, I really think that it's less Lying Creator and more "Netflix meddled with the release schedule to make it seem like the creator was wrong."

Because it's pretty clear that He-Man doesn't get sidelined by Teela in the long run, and honestly comes out looking pretty damn good and having just as much focus as she does overall.

If the Lying Creator entry is kept, it should be updated to reflect what actually happened. Some users (ie Clown Fish TV) got ahold of production info 5 months before the series aired.

Based upon what they learned about the first few episodes, they jumped to the conclusion Teela was going to be main star.

Kevin Smith tried to preserve the twist at the beginning of the story by rebutting information that had been leaked and dismissing the rumors that resulted.

Unfortunately, even though it was conceived, written, and produced as a 10-episode story arc, Netflix broke the series into two 5-episode packages and the first five episodes seemed to lean toward Clownfish's interpretation of the story.

However, once the second half was released and the story could be viewed in its entirety, it became obvious that Clown Fish and others were so eager to dance on Kevin Smith's grave that they weren't willing to give him even the slightest benefit of the doubt.

Yes, Kevin Smith didn't handle the situation as well as he could have, but he was trying to preserve the integrity of the story by making statements that would hold true after all 10 episodes were shown but seemed dubious after only five episodes aired.

Again, since few were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, he came across as a Lying Creator at first.

Thinking about adding Undermined by Reality, considering the show itself has Teela and Randor furious with Adam for keeping a secrets and lies yet Kevin Smith himself lied about He-Man being the focal point of this series and wouldn't be side-lined.

i think it might be better if you add that the show seems to present that lying and keeping secrets leads to no good.
